Daredevil: Born Again has arrived, and we have thoughts! Join us as we break down the return of Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, welcome new faces like Nikki M. James and Clark Johnson, and question some of the show's biggest choices. Why did the series sideline Foggy, Karen, and even Bullseye so quickly? Do the exposition dumps and breakneck pacing undercut the stakes? And could they have handled White Tiger's introduction better? We say yes! Finally, the big question: Does Born Again need to surpass Netflix's Daredevil, or just be better than Marvel's recent offerings?

It's Die Hard in real time! The ticking clocks are everywhere (and so are the dodgy Christopher Walken impressions) as Phil and Liam discuss the 1995 high-concept thriller Nick of Time! Mild-mannered accountant Gene Watson (Johnny Depp) arrives via train to LA's union station, with his young daughter Lynn in tow. Shortly after his arrival, he is apprehended by Mr. Smith (Christopher Walken) and Ms. Jones (Roma Maffia), who claim to be police officers. Smith then informs Gene that he has 90 minutes to assassinate the visiting Governor of California (Marsha Mason)…or they will kill his daughter. The guys discuss the potency of this compelling premise and unpack where the movie both succeeds and fails in the execution of its concept. They theorize that, not only is the film filled with ‘Die Hard DNA', but it also has its roots in Hitchcock, and the paranoid political thrillers of the 1970s. They offer their thoughts on the movie's own political point of view, its thematic ideas, and the intentions of director John Badham. We also get a glimpse into what really goes on inside Phil's secret ‘Die Hard on a Blank laboratory' (where his precious Blu-rays are kept into a fortified vault, protected by a time-lock).As they break down ‘the anatomy of an action movie', the boys discuss the unusual yet largely effective casting of Johnny Depp as a straight-laced everyman, rhapsodize over Christopher Walken's terrifying performance as the satanically evil bad guy ‘Mr. Smith', and talk about the rest of the supporting cast, that also includes the likes of Charles S. Dutton, Clark Johnson, Yul Vasquez and G.D. Spradlin. As the clocks tick down, the fellas race over to the ‘Die Hard Oscars' to hand out their action movie awards, and complete the ‘Double Jeopardy' trivia quiz…in the nick of time!NICK OF TIME trailer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cP1TllLDgQAt the time of release, NICK OF TIME is streaming on Hoopla and PlutoTV and is available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video, Apple/iTunes, YouTube, Vudu, AMC On Demand and all the usual platforms!AMERICAN ENGLISH SOCCER PODCASThttps://www.buzzsprout.com/1652062 EYE OF THE DUCK PODCASThttps://eyeoftheduckpod.com/Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/die-hard-on-a-blank/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Banded Iron Formations (BIFs) are a visually striking group of sedimentary rocks that are iron rich and almost exclusively deposited in the Precambrian. Their existence points to a major marine iron cycle that does not operate today. Several theories have been proposed to explain how the BIFs formed. While they all involve the precipitation of ferric (Fe3+) iron hydroxides from the seawater via oxidation of dissolved ferrous (Fe2+) iron that was abundant when the oceans contained very low levels of free oxygen, they disagree as to how this oxidation occurred. In the podcast, Clark Johnson describes how oxidation could have occurred without the presence of abundant free oxygen in the oceans. Clark Johnson is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Geoscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

New podcast!! I really enjoyed this new conversation with Taylor Clark Johnson Why are we so weird about sex? What is the correlation between sexual repression and chronic illness? Does integrating our sexual energy inspire other areas of our life? What's the best way to heal sexual trauma & wounding? Can sexually ecstatic states be a gateway to ego transcendence.. or deeper connection to God? Why has religion separated spiritually from sexuality? What is tantra? Is rough sex sacred too? Do meditation & mindfulness practices make you a better lover? What's the best way to communicate your deepest desires? It's great to have Taylor Clark Johnson back on the podcast. From Taylor: “Your sexuality impacts EVERY area of your life. Sexuality is at the core of what it means to be human. I was an unpopular science kid growing up. The bigger kids picked on me, and girls barely noticed me. I was fascinated by sex in high school, but instead of having a girlfriend I built model rockets and did science experiments… until I found weed and numbed myself out to the world. I lost my virginity in 3 seconds of glory when I was 19… and premature ejaculation plagued me until my mid 20s when I finally decided to figure out how to overcome it. Up until that point in my life I had been fascinated by spirituality AND sex… but was disappointed by every spiritual “path” I explored because none of them acknowledged that sex was a thing. Eventually I found Tantra & Taoist sexuality… which viewed sex as sacred, powerful, and something that should be celebrated. I travelled the world taking Tantra workshops and attending sexuality retreats taught by some of the most prominent teachers in the world. The combination of Eastern traditions with western practicality is what allowed me to overcome premature ejaculation and majorly uplevel my sex life. And to my surprise, I discovered that my sex life directly impacted EVERY aspect of my life… Once I began to own my sexual power, I started having better relationships, making more money, and living a life that was worlds beyond anything I could have imagined. If you've struggled with any of the things below then you're in the right place… Because I've struggled with them too, and have put in a TON of time and energy to change my struggle into strength.” More on Taylor: http://TaylorJohnson.life More on Brian Piergrossi : http://thebigglow.com ====== This podcast is commercial free & solely listener supported. Detective Pembleton, played by Braugher, must interview this frantic, rude, and soon-to-be-dead victim to figure out what exactly happened. In a time when a pandemic, challenges in the economy and fear is running rampant how do you find your centre? How do you stay grounded? How do you have faith to move forward, putting one foot in front of the other when you're not sure if a stone will appear for your foot to firmly land on. My guest today, JeNae Clark Johnson Founder of CTM Unlimited a human capital consulting firm who's mission is to rescue geniuses shares her story on how she moved through the fear, uncertainties and the tragedies we've all been witnessing this past year with racial inequality. She took a stand for being bold, brave, and leading with corporate courage. How do you stop putting your differences aside to make yourself or others comfortable, because it's easier and doesn't evoke tension? JeNae shares a story about how she stopped making excuses for her differences and started using them to make a difference. We also talk about why now we need to stop dimming ourselves down and making that one bold move – claiming your Brilliant Difference, especially in times like these. This post EP 4: Take That Risk and Move Forward. Let Your Voice be Heard with JeNae Clark Johnson appeared first on Sell From Love.

The final film in our mini-season of heist film's is Steve McQueen's 2018 movie WIDOWS. After (ultimately, to be expected) differing reviews, we talk about ways in which this film deals with a number of different manifestations of loss — doing so even through the cinematography — and ultimately shows a certain amount of escape or relief in the endings of some of the characters. Next Time Our next mini-season will be looking at Disney animations and their recent live-action adaptations, and we begin with the 1967 classic THE JUNGLE BOOK (‘I wanna be like yoo-oo-oou…'). Clark Johnson and Face2Face host David Peck talk about his new film Percy, starring Christopher Walken, Zach Braff and Christina Ricci. We talk about yield to field, activism, GMO’s, seed saving, resisting and telling stories that matter. TrailerSynopsis:Can you patent something that’s alive? Percy is based on the events of an independent canola farmer’s six-year long crusade against global corporate monolith, Monsanto. Accused of growing the company's genetically modified organisms (GMOs) without a licence and forced to risk losing his land, 67-year-old Percy Schmeiser (Christopher Walken) takes his fight to the highest court, challenging the multinational’s right to own life itself.Publicly disgraced by the agrochemical giant, Schmeiser becomes all-consumed by his fight for justice and soon he’s neglecting his farm and family in his need to “set things right.” As he begins to explore Monsanto’s business practices, Schmeiser soon realizes his battle is not isolated. Rather, he is fighting for hundreds of thousands of disenfranchised farmers around the world. Hitting the road to raise money for his defence, Percy talks to crowds large and small, building a movement. Suddenly, he is an unsuspecting folk hero and leader in a war to protect farmers’ rights and the world’s food supply against corporate greed. What can an ordinary man do against global corporations that are more powerful than countries? The task seems insurmountable, hopeless. But Schmeiser and his wife, Louise (Roberta Maxwell), never give in to bullies and together they face the final battle against Monsanto’s multi-million-dollar legal team. Percy suits up with lawyer Jackson Weaver who is played by Zach Braff (Garden State, Scrubs) and gains support from anti-GMO activist Rebecca Salcau played by Christina Ricci (Sleepy Hollow, Monster).Joining them, and Academy-Award winner Christopher Walken, are others in the film’s impressive ensemble, including Roberta Maxwell (Brokeback Mountain, The Postman) as Percy’s wife; Adam Beach (Hostiles, Suicide Squad) as Percy’s field hand Alton Kelly; Luke Kirby (Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Take This Waltz) as Percy’s son; Martin Donovan (Ant-Man, Insomnia) as Monsanto’s lead lawyer Rick Aarons, and Peter Stebbings (Immortals) as Rebecca’s NGO boss.About Clark:Clark Johnson is an accomplished actor and director whose work includes a wide range of both comedy and drama. On television, he has played such notable characters as Senator Robert Bettencourt on the Amazon series Alpha House, the edgy news editor Gus Haynes on The Wire for HBO, and detective Meldrick Lewis on NBC’s long-running series Homicide: Life on the Street.Clark’s recent credits as a filmmaker include S.W.A.T. starring Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell and The Sentinel starring Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland. His most notable work as a television director, which is extensive, includes Homeland, Law & Order, The Get Down, Luke Cage, The Good Fight, Orange is the New Black, The Walking Dead and The Shield.Image Copyright and Credit: Inferno Pictures and Clark Johnson.F2F Music and Image Copyright: David Peck and Face2Face. You may recall the legendary Stephanie Allain from episode 14 of the podcast. Give it a listen! She served Producer on Wade and Jesse Allain-Marcus’ FRENCH DIRTY, Gerard McMurray’s BURNING SANDS and Clark Johnson’s Netflix original film, JUANITA. Tread Perilously concludes its month on the frontier with an episode of Hell on Wheels called "Bear Man." When Elam wakes up after having fought a bear and won, he is taken in by a local tribe. They believe his success against the bear means he now has the powers of the bear -- a useful thing to have on their side should they attack a Union garrison. For his part, Elam seems to have lost his identity and revels in becoming "Bear Killer" for a time before a fur trapper recognizes him and a white woman taken prisoner by the tribe seeks his aid in her escape. Erik and Justin discuss how Hell on Wheels tends to be described as "a show you can watch" and the problem of prestige TV production values. Justin points out the lack of series star Anson Mount while Erik suggests the lack of white faces and the usual Hell on Wheels format earned the episode its low IMDB rating. Archie Andrews' bear mauling also comes up. The use of make-up effects gets praise, as does director Clark Johnson's eye for action. The pair attempt to figure out what a 19th Century "Karen" would be and Justin gets to use his history degree for a good purpose.

Welcome to another great episode of Two Guys in a Balcony with Brian and Dan on RadioAFS.com. This week we will be joined by Officer Tim Davis, a 20+ year veteran, of the Richmond, Indiana Police Department and retired Commander of the S.W.A.T. team as we talk about the 2003 action/adventure crime movie S.W.A.T. Directed by Clark Johnson and staring Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Farrell, Michelle Rodriguez, LL Cool J, and Jeremy Renner. Based off of a one time T.V. show, two Los Angeles S.W.A.T. officers Jim Street and Brian Gamble were sent in to foil an extremely violent bank robbery. Although they thwarted the robbery, they shot a hostage in the process. Street was suspended from S.W.A.T. while Gamble was fired altogether. After 6 months, a veteran S.W.A.T. officer, Daniel Harrelson or "Hondo", is told to assemble a S.W.A.T. team for his division. He chooses other S.W.A.T. officers as well as 3 rookies. However, after they pass the S.W.A.T. training, they receive a message that a French crime boss, known as Alex Montell is trying to escape from prison. This will not be easy to prevent, especially after Montell promises $100 Million to his rescuers. Tune in as we talk about the movie and get a real life perspective from a trained S.W.A.T. team member and the difference between real life and Hollywood theatrics.
