Lee now has automation - he presses buttons and things happen. Is this the beginning of having computers take over the podcast? We have a question from our community! How exciting! People want to know things about us and make us think. What do you think? Do you have any questions? Join our Discord, or Tweet at us, and we'll do one a week. We promise we'll answer all the questions. Maybe. Let's see if we remember this next podcast! Twas the night before #backToYourBacklog, and all through the podcast, we played a lot of games. Lee played them all, Simone played some and Kyle played a bit. We're still very confused about Tiny Tina's Attack on Dragon Keep and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Since they are the same game. But with differnet names. And different stories. And maybe different characters. Other than that, it's exactly the same which is why we're so confused. CyberPunk 2077 is still Kyle's go to game, and if it wasn't for the podcast, he might have finished it by now. But with June so close, it looks like that is going into the backlog... Simone is still a shark, doing shark things, living her best shark life. But now with electric teeth! If that's not an upgrade, then what is. Are you looking for a soundbar to go with your brand new LG C1 or CX? Lee has bought a nice new shiny 11.1.4 surround sound system and rubs it in. If you like your sound and want to make your gaming experience better, then join our Discord and have us help you! Because at the end of the day, we're all a bunch of geeks. We're now going to the Xbox Bethesda Fanfest Watch Party *AND* PAX in Melbourne this year. Want to come meet us? Now is your chance! We may even have some sneaky stickers to give away... Speaking of stickers - check out our merch! Remember to pay the fee - if you got any value out of this podcast, sahre it! Word of mouth is how we grow. You ready for this, Playa? Welcome back to The Player's Club! This episode has Emmett Watkins Jr and Allan Muir returning to talk about the current state of game demos. With the new and improved PlayStation Plus promising 2-hour game trials once it releases this summer, it's time to consider if locking trials behind this paywall is a good idea. Also, what are the most influential demos of the past, and how did we get to the current state of game demos? We tackle all that and more in this week's Topic of the Show. Also, in that Whatcha Playin segment, Al talks about their time with Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot while Emmett talks about his time with Knack, Borderlands 3, and Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep for Borderlands 2. 0:04:07: What's the Deal with Demos? 0:45:19: Kirby and the Forgotten Land 0:53:57: Knack 1:12:14: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot 1:22:47: Borderlands 3/ Tiny Tina BL2 DLC 1:40:36: Housekeeping Housekeeping: Everything Everywhere All At Once Review: AYE YEOH! - VGU.TV Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Republic Heroes Part 39: Old Enemies Ash vs Gary Oak! - VGU Plays Pokemon Graydon Webb (@Graytlo777) / Twitter Remember the PS4 reveal event where they promised streaming demos for games? With Tiny Tina's Wonderlands releasing this week, Nathan waxed nostalgic about the entire Borderlands series up to this point. Having jumped back to Borderlands 2 and 3 a bit and streaming some of Assault on Dragon Keep, the series has definitely been in the forefront of his mind. So, let us discuss the series from the beginning including the story lines, the vault hunters, the DLCs and the mechanics they implemented. Which one was the best… in a subjective sense obviously? Let us dive deep into this subject on Psitanium Mine.
Zelda has long been a staple of Nintendo's video game offerings. Since its first release in the late 1980s, it has become a household name and produced some revolutionary first steps in pushing the envelope of the way games are designed and played. To talk about all this and more, we had to bring on a special guest from the Big Chicken Bits podcast, John Kincaid, who did the research to untangle the timelines and get to the true lore of what exactly is at the heart of Link's eternal struggle to strike down Ganon. On this week's episode of IGN's PlayStation show, Podcast Beyond!, host Jonathon Dornbush is joined by Mark Medina and Jada Griffin to discuss Uncharted's PS5 debut with the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection, and a host of news in the world of PlayStation. First, we break down the PlayStation Plus lineup for February, which brings three games to players who subscribe to PS Plus: UFC 4, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, and Planet Coaster: Console Edition. We dig into our thoughts on PS Plus, how Sony's alleged upcoming Game Pass-like subscription service might affect it, and more. Then, we follow-up on the discussion around Call of Duty's future on PlayStation, with a new report from Bloomberg about how PlayStation fans can expect COD for a couple years more, and then things start to get murky. Then, we dig into the excitement over a PSN glitch that many assumed to be a leak for PlayStation backward compatibility, how likely it means something is on the way, and more. We also discuss the news that Respawn is working on three new Star Wars games, why Mark should play Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and more. We also dig into what we're playing, including the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection for PS5. Jonathon and Mark discuss what it's like to revisit Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, what the new graphical modes, including Performance+'s 120 FPS, are like, and the scope of the collection for those curious on how it stacks up to other PS4-PS5 ports. We dig a little into its DualSense functionality, how it compares to the PS4 versions, and whether it's more akin to Spider-Man Remastered, the Director's Cuts of GHost of Tsushima and Death's Stranding, or basic patches like Horizon Zero Dawn, and whether it's worth the upgrade. Jada also breaks down some of her time with NEO: The World Ends With You and Horizon Zero Dawn on NG+.
