We're going back into the shadows and listening out for footsteps on tiled floors, as we revisit a series that all of us enjoyed back in season 1. We're going back 25 years to 2000 to look at a massively influential first-person stealth game. We're talking Thief II: The Metal Age.On this episode of Stealth Boom Boom, we chat a little bit about the architecture of Meet Joe Black, co-operative thieving, and crunching to hit the release date. We also look at a trailer that Eddie Vedder (and by extension John McEnroe) would be happy with, some of the hopes developer Looking Glass Studios had for the franchise, and the closure of the studio only months after launch. Here are some of the things you're gonna hear us chat about in our review: staying in the pitch black shadows and extinguishing flames with your water arrows; walking on carpet and shooting at tiled floors with your moss arrows; the Stealth Strepsil; the guards that never shut up; many different ways to move; new magic potions; the Scouting Orb and whether there's a need for it; the golden rule: get behind ‘em; a glitchy romance; cameras and big robots with faces; combat is punishment for being spotted; Dishonored; praise for quick save functionality; more objectives for higher difficulties; framing a lieutenant at the local police station; Kevin Keegan; a fondness for worldbuilding rather than plot; Blood Omen 2; sarky Garrett; religious texts; Karras as played by Droopy Dog; one of the best arguments; a UI that didn't please Josh; and a specific sound that pleases everyone. After all that, we take you through what some of the critics were saying about the game around the time it came out, and then we give you our final verdicts on whether Thief 2: The Metal Age is a Pass, a Play, or an Espionage Explosion. For those who would like to play along at home, we'll be discussing, reviewing and dissecting Metal Gear Acid on the next episode of Stealth Boom Boom.IMPORTANT LINKS TO THINGS

In this, the final episode of the first round of the Big Toon Tournament, we see childhood friends become the bitterest of rivals, while Cohost Cody and I attempt to calm the storm. While they both hang out in my living room, Roommate Andrew pits his 7 Seed The Mutant Metaphor vs Sammy Six Names' 10 Seed Self Destruct. We start innocuously enough with the easiest game of fuck, marry, kill you'll ever hear, but from that point on we start to take Sam's team name seriously. This episode features immaculate vibes, pictures of Buzz Lightyear's dome, a break to discuss each player's religious affiliation, a fifth of gin provided by Wolverine, all of our best Droopy Dog impersonations, and, true to form, an insane game of HORSE to decide who moves on. Research begins at 18:42 Listeners, take a deep breath in. Close your eyes. Feel the sunlight hitting your skin. Do you feel nourished? Do you feel connected? That is precisely what the Breathatarian movement believes - that one can live without food or water, nourishing their body on air and sunlight alone. So breath in all Andy and Art have to say and let their words nourish your brains with their research on Breatharianism! Andy and Art are captured once again by the titular Mr. Bunker - how did he fool them this time? They also discuss Droopy Dog, Thor’s brother Thur, and libraries. In the second segment, Andy and Art give you, the listeners, an uninterrupted presentation of their research into Breatharianism. Finally, Andy and Art discuss Breatharianism at length. They also discuss Breathe by Anna Nalick, Australian accents, Art’s power mantra, and so much more! The glasses “tink,” then the bellies rumble, the head pounds. Yup you guessed it. The fellas finally get to try the oft discussed Thunderbird wine, to start the episode. A special thanks to Bill for bringing along the poison. Matt and Bill re-re-re-introduce themselves. Matt tells us about Shoji, the “Game of Generals” and imagine the salesforce might enjoy a game from time to time. Matt loves Talia Shire, but only in the pet store. Bill gets all mobbed-up. Matt briefly gets into the Hell's Angels. Bill talks Turkey. Dick “Night Train” Lane was more than just a suggestive nickname. Matt is so excited about the “stupid fucking cunt.” Bill is at a loss for words when discussing how broken Jim Lingk seems. Matt can't make sense of Lingk's apology. Bill takes us, at long last back to Romaville. There's no dramatic pause like a Ricky Roma dramatic pause. Williamson is less-than-happy. Ricky is looking for a duel and wonders who told Williamson he could work with men. Baylen provides a little comic relief. Dave Moss would be the last man standing in the breakroom-clearing brawl. What would this podcast even be if there wasn't some discussion of Mr. Pacino's “hair?” In a WWTP that can only be described as shocking, John McEnroe gets cast. Droopy Dog makes Matt VERY uncomfortable.
In which Sully makes a deal, John runs the table, and Droopy Dog gets one year closer to death.

The new Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 explores an idea of God that is very common but also very flawed. Alexi Sargent joins the crew to talk about that as well as the themes of family, friendship, and heroism that live at the center of this film. Also, Fr. Jonathan demonstrates that he is far better at impersonating Droopy Dog than Jessica Rabbit. All this plus our recommendation, This or That, and a whole lot more!
Back before the Sharks and Kings were eliminated, we talked about some stuff. Droopy dog on life
Host: Dan Shimmyo In this episode I talk about Robin Williams's depression which lead to his suicide. It is a dark subject but I think it's important to talk about it. I especially think it's important for people to know that there's a big difference between feeling depressed and suffering from clinical depression. If you don't know the difference please google it. I'm sure to bring it up again in the future. Perhaps I'll find a way to link mental health with creativity and musicianship... There's another Trumpet Time segment where I play the c-major scale a little faster and cleaner than last time. I think my next installment will be in the form of a simple melody. The musical portion of this podcast is a new Fuzz Bucket jam session I called Droopy Dog. It's another jam session based on a simple phrase played on the saxophone and then stretched out into a whole jam. At some point Eric Maurer plays a walking bass line and towards the end I think Jamie plays some rocking drums. Everyone was having fun.links:soundcloud.com/shimsterdanshimmyo.bandcamp.comtwitter.com/danshimmyowww.facebook.com/FuzzBucketNYC

Also, Tamler tries to rationalize the Woody Allen controversy, Ozymandias from Watchmen says "screw you Paul Bloom," Dave confuses Maggie Gyllenhaal with Droopy, and for the second time ever we have to censor something one of us (Tamler) says.
