In todays Episode we meet Israeli singer and musician Laor. Laor has been researching the power of the human voice for the last 20 years and have performed in festivals such as: Inititation, Medicine, Healing, Earthdance and many many more... collaborating with incredible musicians with a real passion to Inspire humans to breath, connect, pray and sing like never before. She created a beautiful singing circle at Alma Frequency festival last weekend at Six senses Ibiza and held space for many to express their voice through sound and song. We hear her thoughts on why she feels western society is so repressed and held back from being able to speak up but also use their own unique voices to celebrate life and find their way through that feeling of connection. Why do we shy away? Whay do feel so embaressed? Laor has a few theories and we finish with a song, that you can also sing along to- Hym to the Soul.

Host: Nick Boyd Produced By: Radek Chupka, Nick Boyd, Cory Reynolds, and Dan Litz About the Speaker: Molly Rockamann is the Founding Director of EarthDance Organic Farm School. Molly manages all staff and overall operation and oversees and assists with programs, fundraising and numerous special projects. She has a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Eckerd College, a Certificate in Ecological Horticulture from UC-Santa Cruz and a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies from the University of the South Pacific. She ultimately decided her heart was in the heartland and returned to her family’s roots in North St. Louis County. To learn more and stay connected go to www.suzannesterling.com In this episode, we talk about the intricate connection between yoga and self-expression and how yoga can be a force for social change. We talk about why it’s so important and terrifying for us to use our voices as well as the power of ritual and how we’re hard-wired for self-expression in community. We touch on leaderless movements, the pitfalls of hero worship, and the transformation that can happen when embodiment practices are combined with science and psychology. Suzanne reminds us of How EVERYONE has the right to sing and EVERYONE has sound inside them, We talk about colonialism and the injunction of self-expression in our bodies, what creativity requires of us, the challenge of receiving, and the fear and freedom of transparency around money and sex. This week the call to action is to ponder and ask ourselves - how can I be more self-expressed? Where do I feel the most free? Where do I feel the most restrained? What fear am I willing to face to create a new level of freedom, not only for myself but for others? Then, share it with someone you trust and take the next brave step.
This week's guests are committed to creating food systems that are accessible to all. They emphasize the importance of community organizing and political engagement in the sustainable ag movement. The Miller family had been farming acreage in Ferguson, Missouri for over a century when Molly Rockamann, a visionary who loves to dance, came home from service overseas, met Mrs. Miller and launched - in 2008 - the enterprise EarthDance Farms. Today, this extraordinary human-nature partnership includes an Organic Farm School; hands-on working and learning opportunities for teens to elders; productive, nutritious, delicious and LOCAL public interactions through the Ferguson Farmers Market - and much more. Most recently, the principles of Permaculture have taken root on the contours of EarthDance fields, guided enthusiastically by Farm Manager Matt Lebon. Matt describes the Permaculture way of working with nature to produce food while supporting whole ecosystems (way more than just crop rows) on agricultural lands. This summer, plan a Saturday morning trip up to Ferguson. Shop the Ferguson Farmers' Market starting at 8 am, then at 10:45 hop on the new Jolly Trolley (put your veggies in its cooler) for a short trip to tour EarthDance Farms. You'll be back to your car by noon - and it may not be your only visit! Learn more at www.EarthDanceFarms.org. A dj set from Psydeva at the NYE event Revolution in Johannesburg, South Africa 2012-2013. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The journey began when Diego and Matias were emerging from boyhood, looking at the horizon of adventure and musical mastery ahead of them. With a shared interest and passion for the dance floor, they had heard their calling loud and clear! To develop and evolve together to provide dance floors with the same magic and thrill as they had first experience together at Earthdance 2004. After a couple of years traveling around many different festivals and actively organizing international events around Chile, they decided produce their own project. Their collective sound, known as PSYDEVA was born in California USA in 2009. A fusion of Goa and Psychedelic Trance was the marriage of influences that is the PSYDEVA style. They decided to delve deeper into the music with the intention of creating their own tone characteristic - The inspiration of Old School Trance merged with the new ideas of modern Psychedelic Trance. PSYDEVA is a attracts a thick presence on the dance floor, where they galvanise their crowd by pounding a strong and solid bassline, hypnotising their listeners into enchantment. This rolling, and undulating bassline is the core of deep atmospheres that create a high density reflective style. PSYDEVA in the studio are a dedicated team working hard in producing intelligent drum patterns and intricate melody structures for their next releases, a live act showcasing their talent and dynamism. PSYDEVA respects and honours those who have created a platform for their success and would like to thank everyone who is part of the PSYDEVA uprising. They credit their strength to: Calvin & PsynOpticz Productions, Jules Hamer (Aphid Moon/Aphid Moon Rec.) Regan/ Nano Records, California, Nanda, Wildbro, Moaiact, Ovnimoon, Isra Psychedelic Tatto, Pragmatix, Ital and many more. PSYDEVA connect directly and with integrity - Diego and Matias have this to say, “ It’s so damn cool to know that you guys believe in us, AND WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED!” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow Psydeva: www.facebook.com/psydeva.chile http://soundcloud.com/psydeva ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow PsynOpticz: www.facebook.com/PsynOpticz

His music can be described as deep progressive trance with an obscure psychedelic touch. Influenced by the darker side of psychedelic trance and metal, rock n roll and industrial bands, he blends all his musical influences with the science fiction genre and morphs it into the Onionbrain music. After some years of hard work he acumulates releases on many labels like Mind Tweakers, Glitchy Tonic, Occulta and Uroboros Records (this last one founded by him and Zartrox in the beginning of 2010) and presentations in some of the main parties and festivals on most of the brazilian states, like 303 Art Festival, Earthdance, Ecologic, Festival Fora do Tempo, Magic Paradise and Universo Paralello.www.brunoazalim.com.brbookings and contact: brunoazalim@gmail.com
The farm is the oldest organic farm in the state of Missouri, and possibly even west of the Mississippi. Settled in 1883, the 3rd generation is now 89 years old, with no one to carry on the farm. Surrounded by a low-income neighborhood, this 14 acre farm has resisted the surrounding development and an experienced tenant farmer on the land says that it’s the best soil he’s ever seen. This week’s guest on Greenhorn Radio is Molly Rockamann of EarthDance Farms. EarthDance takes a unique approach to small-scale farming in that it fuses the celebration of art and music with organic farming education on the land. The five year plan includes an artist-in-residence program as well as a musician-in-residence program on the property. This season arts and music will be grown on the farm via an Open Space – Open Studio program, inviting local artists and musicians of all types to come on the farm to create together.
