The Avenue Red Live Sessions series hits the 10th episode with a pulsating tech house mix from Peter Bernath from Budapest, Hungary. Peter is the boss of RTS.FM Budapest and his long-running Lost Minute event, where Avenue Red's Alec Pritchard had played back in February 2022 (exactly 3 years ago - see links below). Her Royal Highness the Princess of Hollywood Pleasant Gehman is a true renaissance woman: best-selling author and journalist, international dance performer and instructor, punk rock historian, blogger, Tarot card reader, and a critically acclaimed actor, musician and painter. A Hollywood icon, her multi-disciplinary creative output is nothing short of staggering.During the 1970's, she was one of the first punks in Los Angeles, documenting the music scene she helped create in her fanzine Lobotomy, which lead to her writing for mainstream music and entertainment publications. From the age of 16 onwards, Pleasant worked as a journalist and cultural commentator with literally thousands of articles published nationally and internationally on everything from the arts and entertainment to Hollywood stuntwomen, sex workers and homeless teenage runaways. She has worked as a staff writer for LA Weekly, Los Angeles Magazine, Variety, And The Hollywood Reporter and often free-lanced for Billboard, Spin and Rolling Stone. Her alternative city guide book The Underground Guide To Los Angeles spent nine weeks on The LA Times Best Sellers List.In the early 1980's, Pleasant collaborated with producer/director Max Tash on a script based on her all-girl band The Screaming Sirens, called The Runnin' Kind (which she also starred in) released theatrically by MGM in 1989. The Screaming Sirens toured extensively throughout North America and released two albums on Enigma Records, Fiesta and Voodoo, as well as many singles. Concurrent with The Screaming Sirens, Pleasant and life-long friend Iris Berry founded The Ringling Sisters, a writing and spoken word group made up of female lead singers from popular LA bands. The Ringling Sisters soon morphed into a band, and were signed by Ode/ A&M Records, releasing the spoken word and music LP Sixty Watt Reality, produced by Lou Adler.Under the stage name Princess Farhana; Pleasant has been an icon in the fields of belly dance and burlesque since the early 1990's. She is the author of The Belly Dance Handbook, considered by many to be the definitive resource. She has headlined both belly dance and burlesque festivals all over the world, appearing to perform and teach in Egypt, Turkey, Australia and China, toured many times across Europe and The UK, Mexico and Canada as well as throughout the USA. As a belly dancer, she has judged numerous competitions, and appeared on the covers of every belly dance trade publication. As a burlesque artist, she has been featured on the covers of numerous mainstream publications and on the cover of the London, UK Sunday Review's feature on American Burlesque.Under the names Pleasant Gehman and Princess Farhana, she has acted and danced in music videos-for Madonna, Ricky Martin, Margaret Cho, and many others- and network television shows, including The Nanny. She was the principle dancer in comedian Margaret Cho's touring burlesque show, The Sensuous Woman and also appeared dancing and being interviewed in segments in Margaret Cho's DVD Assassin and her television series The Cho Show.Pleasant's memoirs, short stories and poetry have been widely anthologized and many works were recorded on her spoken word CD Ruined. Additionally, she has written and recorded many music CDs and spoken word tracks, including Blacklite Sleaze, a collaboration with noted house music producers Peace Division, which became a hit in Europe and The UK, entering the British Charts above Madonna. She is one of the many authors featured in Under The Big Black Sun: A Personal History Of LA Punk, compiled by curators John Doe and Tom De Savia. The book also features Exene Cervenka, Henry Rollins, members of The Go-Go's and several others involved in the late '70's Los Angeles punk scene.

Enzo Muro (Electronic Groove/Dialogue/B.LØW) Enzo Muro's first taste of electronic music began during the late 90's back in Peru. As an avid partygoer and music enthusiast, Enzo had the privilege to see many of the greats, including Steve Lawer, Peace Division, Carl Cox, Sasha, Pete Tong, Adam Freeland, Deep Dish, Hernan Cattaneo, DJ Three, H-Foundation, etc... spinning their hearts out in Lima. Good sets and good times instilled in him the passion to play music of his own... Since arriving in LA in 2004, he has been dropping records around LA, Mexico & Peru. As the California liaison for Bamboocha Radio out of Lima, Peru, Enzo has hosted many local djs and special guests in his bedroom studio in recent years. This has been a great opportunity for Enzo to hang out with basically all the djs in the industry on a level outside of the party scene–some tight bonds have derived from these personal encounters. Now, having joined the zealous Electronic Groove team based out of Miami, Enzo has connected a strong link between the U.S. bicoastal network. It’s the perfect match for both parties. Equity is a beautiful thing. The amount of music that Enzo has been exposed to, on his radio show, live streaming or out and about at every show in LA, gives him a broad and tasteful style of music when he djs. One has to step out of the box to acquire such a taste in music. Enzo has played at Lightning in a Bottle and Desert Hearts, Burning Man a few years; and has opened for djs such as Barac, Bill Patrick, tINI, Sepp & Nu Zau, Hernan Cattaneo, Rampue, Frank & Tony, Mira, Behrouz, Nick Warren, Daniel Bortz, Guy J, to name a few. One of the more enduring house labels over the years have been Tsuba Recordings, a label incubated in the UK and celebrated world-wide. (OKABI) was born on the island of Gran Canaria (Spain) in 1983. It is also in this time on the radio, which lasted until 2005, where he began to experiment with his first samplers, synthesizers and sequencers. In the following years his performances like residencies in several clubs and in some of the most influental halls of the island had a huge influence on the club scene. Later he combined his studies of electronics technician with the instrumental interpretation, which helped himself to start creating mixtures with more professional finish. He has worked with several music groups and artists in their blends and arrangements and he has edited several works with various pseudonyms. Currently he is also editing as "Hifi Box" exclusively in his recent own label, "Kowloon Recordings". He has an eclectic vision in his productions, though if anything defines this artist, is the "Underground" air and the rhythm on his personal work. Although widely regarded as a member of the true A-list of dance music, both in terms of production, DJing and label management, it was a chance meeting led to Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito, an audio engineer/musician and working dj respectively, becoming Audiofly back in 2002. Middleton was, in typical boffin style, experimenting with live surroundsound while Saporito was acting as in-house music selector at prestigious London store Selfridges but the pair decided to down tools and throw everything at their shared love of house music. A bold move, but one which immediately began to pay off. The Audiofly name started to crop up regularly in the London scene and beyond via a series of edits, remixes and releases for underground imprints such as Fantastic House and Deleted. This initial hype led to Peace Division and DC10 resident Clive Henry to request an EP for the now legendary Low Pressings imprint. This EP, entitled “Release Yourself” caught many an ear and coupled with the DJs growing reputation as DJs, propelled Audiofly to a new level. Fairly quickly the pair’s groovy, melodic and undulating take on house music started to create a huge fan base, both in the press (DJ Magazine featured the duo on a special covermount CD), in clubs (Space Ibiza residency) and finally in production, with uber-imprints Get Physical, Mood Music, Kickboxer and Renaissance calling on their talents. Now, the duo are pushing their sound even further with a gig diary that takes in the likes of Fabric, Warung, Amnesia and countless other world reknowned clubs as well as a forthcoming album in the works but they still finding time to develop other artists via their own Supernature imprint. Only one year old, and Supernature has been a launch pad for artist such as Ali Nasser, Alex Niggeman, Bearweasel, Amelie and Boris Horel and commands the respect of labels ten times its age while their Flying Circus parties have become the highlights of both the WMC and Sonar festivals and their similarly named radio show for Proton Radio is a continued success. All of this sounds a lot, but Luca and Anthony are veritable steam trains of ideas and projects. Luca’s unrivalled enthusiasm, Anthony’s ability to think outside the box and an envious amount of talent to draw on mean there’s a lot more to come from Audiofly and their “Familia”. EQ Recordings have done it once again. This time by releasing their brand new album from the Balance series: Balance 003 - Mixed and compiled by Bill Hamel. After the previous two highly successful Balance compilations mixed by Sean Quinn and Kasey Taylor you can only expect the highest of quality from this one. Bill starts this CD off with the massive track 'Darko' remixed by Blackwatch. This is a very impressive dark track and is a perfect way to kickstart this mix before slowly but skillfully blending in the next killer track, which is Lula's - 'The DJ The Music & Me' (vocal remix) by Peace Division. The CD is definitely a work of art by Mr Hamel and his track selection and mixing is absolutely superb. The highlight of the Disc 1 has to be the massively popular 'Gorecki' track fitting in the best of ways. Disc 2 starts by dropping the huge Evolution mix of 'Close'. It's soothing sounds and effects of pure progressive pleasure is a great way to build the mood for this CD. Track 2, Tilt's 'Headstrong' (Maria Naylers volcal remix) is then masterfully mixed into the first track.Towards the end of CD2 Bill drops in the magic track 'Need' which has been masterfully remixed by Satoshi Tomiie, this gem is guaranteed to get your heart pumping. Following this masterpiece by Satoshi, Bill spins us the tune 'Gentle Rain', which gives you the feeling your standing in a gentle shower of raindrops - the perfect end to an impressive album. Tom Pandzic's EQ Recordings sure has come a long way, producing some of the best albums available for purchase, and this gem is no different.
