Dr Christopher K. Slaton, Ed.D., is a visionary educator and pioneer in the field of child development. In 2000, he founded the Progressive Investing Institute of Focused Learning, a groundbreaking institution dedicated to the study of child development through the lens of action research, systems thinking, and human science.Dr. Slaton's journey began with a passionate exploration of action research, seeking practical solutions for children and parents in crisis. This endeavour led him to delve into human systems research, where he meticulously examined the intricate interplay between self, others, and the environment. Through the application of systems thinking, he further expanded his research into human systems science, unravelling the profound connections between the brain, body, and sensory experiences. With over 25 years of devoted study in the realms of brain, body, and sense events, Dr. Slaton has harnessed the power of education to gain profound insights into the intricacies of the human system. His commitment to understanding the brain and disciplining the body has culminated in a personal practice that harmonizes education and science.Central to Dr. Slaton's philosophy is the revolutionary concept of Human Systems Science, which fundamentally transforms our perception of the Brain's Body. In his paradigm, the brain and body are inseparable, with the brain serving as the very essence of the body. This perspective underscores the inner and outer sense of self, illuminating the intricate pathways of sense and reception, energy, action, and emotions, as well as the physical, emotional, and mental facets of human behaviour.Through his tireless dedication to advancing the understanding of human contact, cognition, and behaviour, Dr Christopher K. Slaton stands as a trailblazer, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of child development and human science. His work continues to inspire and shape the future of education, offering profound insights into the boundless potential of the Brain's Body. Hosted on Acast. Christopher K. Slaton, EdD - Education and Science: The Brain's Body - Help to Improve Brain, Body, and Sense Events. This is episode 584 of Teaching Learning Leading K12., an audio podcast. Christopher K. Slaton, Ed.D., developed the Progressive Investing Institute of Focused Learning in 2000 to study child development through the application of action research, systems thinking, and human science. The applied use of action research with children and parents in crisis led to human systems research, as the study of self, other people, and the environment. The applied use of systems thinking led to human systems science, as the study of brain, body, and sense events. Hence, the applied use of human science led to the study of human, cognitive, and behavior sciences. As a practitioner of human systems science, his interest has always been focused on the study of human contact, human cognition, and human behavior. Dr. Slaton has used education to become more informed about the brain and science to discipline the body as a human systems scientist with more than 25 years of studying brain, body, and sense events. Hence, learning how to inform the brain and discipline the body is a personal practice of education and science. This is why; Human Systems Science represents a fundamental change in the way brain, body, and sense events are viewed in terms of the Brain's Body. The brain is the body. The body is not the brain. The Brain's Body is the inner/outer sense of self in the study of sense and receive path functions; brain, body, sense events; energy, action, and feelings; and physical, emotional, and mental acts or behaviors. Our focus today will be Christopher's book - Education and Science: The Brain's Body - Help to Improve Brain, Body, and Sense Events. So much to learn. Before you go... Could you do me a favor? CHD, No. 1 Cause of Death for Children. The host for this show is Wendy Loh. The guest is Christopher K.M. Hui. Sea Star's story starts with a little girl named Tong Tong. At just a few months, Tong Tong was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD)--at the time, the number #1 cause of death for children under the age of 5. She had difficulty breathing, and her lips and fingers were turning blue due to the lack of oxygen. Her parents were unable to afford the prohibitively high cost of surgery and did not know how to navigate applying to non-profits for help. A few friends heard about their plight, and joined forces to raise funds and help Tong Tong's family through the application process of various charities. Tong Tong received the surgery she needed with the kindness of everyone involved. These friends realized that there are so many other children with CHD who still needed their help. And gathered more like-minded friends to form Sea Star Children's Foundation in March 2012.The ThinkTech YouTube Playlist for this show is https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQpkwcNJny6lakTZanwCk6DV_aUgzKaMiPlease visit our ThinkTech website at https://thinktechhawaii.com and see our Think Tech Advisories at https://thinktechadvisories.blogspot.com.
If there's one thing I enjoy, it is talking about the brain and how it functions, Today I have the honor of speaking with Dr. Christopher K Slaton, a neuroscientist here to tell parents how to understand their children, their behavior, and help forge a path of least resistance through understanding their brains and its functions. This is an engaging and intellectual conversation! Enjoy~Check out his website to find his book, as well as future courses for parents!!
Happy Birthday to us! Endlich volljährig! 18 Folgen #GundB.
