Cheetie Kumar is the chef/owner of Ajja, a restaurant in Raleigh's Five Points neighborhood that draws inspiration from the diverse foodways and cultures, vibrant spices, and cooking techniques of the Mediterranean, the Middle East and beyond. Ajja opened in June 2023 and is a James Beard Foundation Award semifinalist for Best New Restaurant. Ajja was also named an Esquire Best New Restaurant and Eater's Best New Carolinas Restaurant.  An India- and Bronx-raised Southerner and musician, Cheetie earned two James Beard Foundation Award nominations (and five semifinalist nods) for “Best Chef: Southeast” for her multi-cultural menus that blended the flavors of South Asia and the surrounding regions with local agriculture at the beloved Garland, which closed in 2022. Ajja builds on the legacy of Garland and continues telling the rich story of North Carolina's growers, farmers and purveyors in a vibrant indoor-outdoor neighborhood restaurant. Cheetie is active in food advocacy and serves on the board of the Independent Restaurant Coalition, the Southern Foodways Alliance and several North Carolina-based organizations. In fall 2023, Cheetie joined World Central Kitchen's Chef Corps, a global network of culinary leaders who champion World Central Kitchen's work providing fresh meals following crises.

Through her family's cultural roots, Cheetie shares that every new home was anchored by food, and was used as a powerful tool for memory and connection. Through these connections, she was also drawn to the wonderful world of music, brewing her passions of both culinary and melody, for most of her life.  Her inspirations illuminate throughout her creations, championing through each path she lays before her. Dit is wel de laatste aflevering van de serie-in-serie De vrouwen van David. Ditmaal over Rispa, de vrouw die David van gedachten heeft veranderd. 2 Samuel 21:1-14 Tijdens de regering van David heerste er eens drie jaar achtereen hongersnood. David wendde zich tot de HEER, en de HEER antwoordde: ‘Het komt door Saul en zijn moordenaarsbende, omdat hij de Gibeonieten heeft gedood.' De Gibeonieten namelijk behoorden niet tot het volk van Israël. Het waren overlevenden van de Amorieten, en de Israëlieten hadden hun gezworen dat ze hen met rust zouden laten, maar Saul had in zijn ijver voor Israël en Juda geprobeerd hen uit te roeien. David liet de Gibeonieten bij zich komen en vroeg hun: ‘Wat kan ik doen om het onrecht goed te maken dat u is aangedaan, zodat de vloek die er wegens u op Gods eigen land rust ongedaan wordt gemaakt?' De Gibeonieten antwoordden: ‘Wij willen geen recht doen gelden op het goud en zilver van Saul en zijn familie en we hebben het recht niet om iemand uit Israël te doden.' De koning zei: ‘Wat u ook vraagt, ik zal het u toestaan.' ‘De man die ons heeft willen verdelgen en plannen heeft beraamd om ons uit heel Israël weg te vagen!' antwoordden ze. ‘Lever zeven van zijn mannelijke nakomelingen aan ons uit, dan zullen wij die in Sauls woonplaats Gibea terechtstellen en ophangen ten overstaan van de HEER, die ooit Saul had uitverkozen.' ‘Goed,' zei de koning. Hij spaarde echter de zoon van Sauls zoon Jonatan, Mefiboset, vanwege de eed die David en Jonatan elkaar bij de HEER gezworen hadden. Daarom nam hij Armoni en Mefiboset, de twee zonen die Saul had gekregen bij Rispa, de dochter van Ajja, en de vijf zonen die Sauls dochter Merab had gekregen van Adriël, de zoon van Barzillai uit Mechola. Hij leverde hen uit aan de Gibeonieten, die hen boven op een berg ophingen ten overstaan van de HEER. Ze werden alle zeven tegelijk ter dood gebracht, in het begin van de oogsttijd, in de tijd van de gersteoogst. Rispa, de bijvrouw van Saul, spreidde een kleed op de rotsen en bleef daar van het begin van de oogsttijd totdat de eerste herfstregens vielen om overdag de aasvogels van de lijken te verjagen en 's nachts de wilde dieren. Toen David hoorde wat Rispa had gedaan, liet hij het gebeente van Saul en diens zoon Jonatan weghalen bij de burgers van Jabes in Gilead. Die hadden immers heimelijk de lijken geborgen van Saul en Jonatan, die na de slag bij Gilboa door de Filistijnen waren opgehangen op het plein van Bet-San. Hij liet hun gebeente overbrengen naar Sela in Benjamin en begroef hen samen met de lijken van de gehangenen in het graf van Sauls vader Kis. Alles gebeurde zoals de koning het beval, en God liet zich ten gunste van het land vermurwen.

Former prime minister Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici passed away on Saturday 5 November, aged 89. He served as the ninth prime minister of Malta between December 1984 and May 1987. He visited Australia in 1990 as the leader of the opposition and Labour Party. He was interviewed by Joe Axiaq after a reception at SBS. During his life Mons Philip Calleja worked for emigrants and refugees. For about 50 years he was the director of the Migrant Commission, which was founded in 1950 due to the great exodus of Maltese to countries like Australia. He helped many people who intended to settle in Australia. Over time, through the Migrant Commission, he also began to help immigrants and refugees in Malta. Megapixel (aka Megumi Fletcher) is Melbourne based DJ and representative for the Japanese label Grasshopper Records. Her psytrance journey began in Perth where she was first introduced to outdoor parties and it was love at first sight, She immediately fell in love with the music and culture. She has always had a strong connection to music all her life ranging from piano, flute to guitar so it was only natural for her to take the next step and explore the realms of electronic dance music. She made her DJ debut in 2008 and also went into holding outdoor parties of her own and after a couple of years of developing her sound and skills in 2011 she decided to move to Melbourne and give the scene a whirl. Megapixel has established herself as a solid edition to any psychedelic line up, whether playing on a dusty bush dance floor or at a sweaty local nightclub. While doin my best to stop my fingers freezing solid, I played a bunch of twisted Psychedelic tunes as the laser blasted through the rain. I tried to keep the energy levels up, while slowly building up the bpm. Thanks to all those who braved the conditions and got a little crazy. I hope you all enjoyed the beats. I certainly had a great time blasting them out. I've still got so many memories from the early Royal Doofs I went to. It's funny to think almost 15 years have passed since the first one I attended. System Theory is the latest addition to the PsynOpticz family, based in Cape Town, South Africa. System Theory, aka( Dane Mitchell) was formed from the undergrowth of the Eastern Cape psychedelic music scene. After years of success with the minimal/techno act, Dane Mitchell, System Theory was bred as a psychedelic side project which soon blossemed into the act it is today.
