Real Estate Investing With Jay Conner, The Private Money Authority
***Guest AppearanceCredits to:https://www.youtube.com/@Randy_Dyck "The Secrets of Private Money with Jay Conner: A Real Estate Investor's Journey"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3uM93KSb1g In a recent episode of the Raising Private Money podcast, Jay Conner and Randy Dyck dive into the profound and transformative journey of leveraging private money in real estate investing. This discussion lights up key strategies and valuable life lessons drawn from years of real estate experience and personal growth. This blog post will outline the podcast's rich content, providing an extensive overview for those eager to succeed in real estate investing.David's Resilience: Embracing the E+R=O FormulaLearning from Hardship: The Foundation of ResilienceDavid's story begins with a challenging upbringing in Kentucky, losing his father at a tender age. This early adversity seemed to predetermine a life of struggle for David. However, a transformative lesson came when he learned about the E+R=O formula, which stands for Event + Response = Outcome. This revelation helped David realize that while he couldn't control the events in his life, he had complete control over his responses. This lesson of owning one's response to life's events underpins the greater discussion of resilience in real estate, as echoed by Jay Conner and Randy Dyck.Jay Conner's Journey: From Bank Reliance to Private MoneyPivoting in Crisis: Facing the 2008 Market CollapseJay Conner faced a significant turning point during the 2008 financial crisis when traditional bank financing dried up. This unexpected challenge could have derailed his real estate business. Instead, Jay turned to private money—a strategy that fundamentally altered the trajectory of his success. Unlike conventional loans, private money involves borrowing from individuals with available capital under terms set by the borrower. This strategy not only revitalized Jay's business but tripled its size, illustrating the power of resilience and adaptability. The Importance of a Supportive CommunitySurrounding Yourself with Positive InfluencesJay Conner emphasizes the notion that one's "vibration" or energy is significantly influenced by the people around them. This idea aligns with Jim Rohn's wisdom that individuals are the average of the five people they spend the most time with. By building a network of positive, like-minded individuals, investors can maintain high energy and motivation, which is crucial in navigating the ups and downs of real estate.Trust, Vulnerability, and Resilience in Real EstateBuilding the Foundations of SuccessRandy Dyck introduces a powerful analogy of trust and resilience in real estate, likening them to a house's structural components. Trust forms the foundation, hope, and vulnerability of the walls, and the resilience of the roof. Jay Conner agrees with this analogy, adding that spiritual trust also plays a pivotal role. For real estate investors, establishing a strong foundation of trust can protect against inevitable market volatility and ensure long-term success.Strategy and Mindset: Key Ingredients to Real Estate SuccessMaximizing Returns in Property InvestmentJay Conner's real estate strategy involves precise calculations to determine the worth of an investment. Using private money, he typically offers up to 50% of a property's after-repaired value (ARV), which allows for purchasing and rehabbing properties without tapping into personal finances. For instance, for a property with an ARV of $200,000, Jay might offer $100,000 and borrow up to $150,000. This approach ensures that funds are available for unexpected expenses and repairs, emphasizin

Take full ownership of your life's results. Embrace the idea that you're the captain of your own ship, determining its course. E+R=O means "Events + Response = Outcomes". This concept asserts that every outcome, be it success or failure, wealth or poverty, health or illness, connection or isolation, happiness or frustration, is a product of your responses to past events. To shape your future results, start changing your responses today. Join Dylan, Angela, and Teske for a conversation on how they apply this principle in their daily lives. In times of uncertainty and anxiety, it's important to remember what you're in control of and how to take care of yourself, your business and your mindset. As you've seen, Season 3 is dedicated to my father, Mike Jacox, who passed away late in 2021. I Love and miss you, Dad. Thank you, #CatchSitkaSportFishing and #ACMEHomes, for your continued support!!!Today, we sat down with Virg Palumbo, Regional President at Kforce, a gentleman I had the opportunity to work with for nearly 20 years! Today's conversation has so much wisdom due to Virg's experience serving our country, attending the Naval Academy, and raising three successful children with his wife. Virg grew up in a coal mining town and learned early from his parents the impact of hard work. He learned to value the process of hard work and not always focus on the outcome, which allowed me to learn about a great equation - Event + Response = Outcome.Virg shared some actionable ideas that we, as dads, must choose consistency over intensity. Relating to our marriages, his advice was for us to treat our wives like our #1 client and constantly seek ways to provide excellent service for them. Lastly, Virg shares that we must always lead by example, choose others before ourselves, and have a plan for everything we do! Emotion – a natural instinctive state of mind deriving from one's circumstances, mood, or relationships with others.Far too often, men find themselves in situations they regret due to letting their emotions get the best of them. Acting out due to an emotional response has negatively affected the lives of too many men. While emotion is natural and necessary, it's vital to hone your emotional response. When fear, anger, or anxiety strike, you need to know how to process these emotions, then act. When you act before processing these emotions, the people you hurt the most are more often than not the ones you love the most. The damage left in your wake can often be substantial.By harnessing your emotions, you will begin to forge emotional intelligence and take control of your life.In this episode of Untaming Masculinity, Dan and Brad talk about not letting your emotions get the best of you. Having emotions is natural and expected, but it's vital that you don't allow the emotion to sabotage your relationships. They dive into several strategies that will help you recognize your emotion, process it, then act. Dan also introduces the concept of E+R=O, or Event + Response = Outcome. Nate Poole is a husband, father of 3 girls, and all-around amazing guy. He also happens to be athletically gifted. His hard work combined with exceptional talent landed him at Marshall University, which then led to a career in the NFL. Nate details what it was like growing up as the 3rd of 5 siblings living in a one-bedroom house and how his family structure contributed to his character development. Regardless of what he was asked to do as a child, he did it without complaining. His dad often pointed out how special that quality is in a young man and that if he continued to work hard and stay focused, he could go anywhere in life. His father was right. He has maintained that mentality and has certainly put in work. While at Marshall, Poole was a star. He played in four bowl games and was awarded first-team All-Mid-American Conference honors three times. He then spent four years with the Arizona Cardinals and later joined the New Orleans Saints for two more years. Unfortunately, his career as a player was abruptly cut short after only 6 seasons when he experienced a career-ending leg injury while being tackled in a game. It was a devastating blow and Poole claims that without his wife, Neville, he would have likely lost his way. Through the trials of life, Nate has learned a lot. He utilizes his equation, E + R = O, and tries to instill that into his children and student-athletes. (Event + Response = Outcome). Poole is now the Wide Receiver's coach at the prestigious North Carolina A & T, which happens to be one of the top HBCU Schools in the nation. With the 2020 pandemic shutting down the season last year, 2021 will be Poole's first season on the field as coach of this team - and he is pumped! We hope you enjoy this conversation. One of the most pervasive myths is that we are entitled to a great life. That somehow, somewhere, someone (not us) is responsible for filling our lives with continual happiness, exciting career opportunities, wonderful family time, and blissful personal relationships simply because we exist. The real truth is that there is only one person responsible for the quality of the life you live. That person is YOU! Event + Response = Outcome #MoChurch
The R Factor is the cornerstone system, you've heard it as E + R = O. Simplistically it means Event + Response = Outcome and by managing your Response you can influence the outcome of the event. Trust, Behaviors, character, excellence, repeating what we do - daily produces results.
Today we are discussing the "trendy" topic of Mindset. We will be hovering around the equation of "Event + Response = Outcome", and our three tips to help improve our mindset. Enjoy!
.................................. FULL TRANSCRIPT .................................. Hi, I’m Pascale and welcome to episode 139 of the Everyday Life Balance Show. Thank-you for listening. We are all at present going through a challenging time and we are in it together. My heartfelt intention in today’s podcast is to comfort your heart and heighten your hope. I wrote YES! TO Love™ because I was committed to saving lives from burnout and despair. That’s why the subtitle of the book is “The Ultimate Guide To Personal Transformation For Everyday Life Balance.” The majority of us have most probably reacted to the situation in a state of shock. We were all getting on with our lives and boom out of nowhere we have to isolate, work from home or stop work completely in order to stay safe and healthy. My warm appreciation goes to the medical and service professionals who are still serving us every day face to face. However, throughout history there have been economic crises and wars and human beings have always recovered because we are resilient by nature, we bounce back and we have faith whether it is faith in God or in yourself and humanity. As a strong proponent of love there is a formula that I want to share with you today which I hope will help you move from a place of fear, worry, uncertainty and anxiety to a place of empowerment, trust, faith, hope and resourcefulness. I shared with you last week two principles you can use to uplift your spirit: the first principle is to believe that: “there is a spiritual solution to every problem.” This principle invites you to view every aspect of your life and the current situation we are all in from a different perspective and a more positive outlook. The second principle is to bring into your awareness that: “you become what you think about.” If you think negatively for long period of times this affects your well-being however you can shift your state by starting to develop a more positive mindset which vibrates at a higher energy frequency. This theory was demonstrated by the author and pseudo-scientist Masaru Emoto who said that: “Human consciousness has an effect on the molecular structure of water.” Masaru Emoto’s experiment reveals that If human vibrational energy, thoughts, ideas, words and music affect the molecular structure of water they must affect, also, everything in our environment and the world at large. You can look up Masaru Emoto's experiment if you want to learn more. The formula I want to share with you today is: E + R = O. E: stands for event R: stands for response and O: stands for outcome. In other words, the results you get in life are determined by the way you respond to your life’s events, situation or circumstances. This implies that if you want a different result in life from the one you have you must change the way you respond to your situation. Therefore, there are two ways you could respond to the current world crisis: One response could be to worry excessively, get angry and be resentful. Another response could be to look at the situation more positively and become resourceful. I would like to recommend that you take some time today to reflect and think about how we can, as a community, overcome the situation we are all in as quickly as possible and what lessons are to be learnt. I believe in God and that there is a reason behind every situation. If we were to view the current situation in a more positive light and transform positively our response is it possible that: We are given the opportunity to create better lives and a better world. Is this new opportunity leading to a dramatic paradigm shift in the way we live? Here are four things I have personally observed, since I have been isolating myself: I take my time to do things instead of rushing like a headless chicken. I cultivate a sense of peace even more so amidst the chaos. I think about how I want to live my life going forward. I am learning from the lessons. What about you? What are you learning from the present confinement? How are you viewing your world and the world at large? We are being given an opportunity for growth and positive change. I believe there is no going back. Let us all take onboard this opportunity! I hope that you enjoyed today’s episode remember that now is your time to transform your life one step at a time. And remember the formula which can help you realize your dream: E + R = O or Event + Response = Outcome. I look forward to connecting with you next Monday. Talent is a gift, uncommon is a choice. In this episode, we chat with Tim Kight, Founder of Focus 3 and host of The Focus 3 Podcast with Urban Meyer. We discuss many topics including motivation, uncommon people, and wide receiver Michael Thomas. Tim’s business has a mission is to help companies around the world align the power of leadership, culture, and behavior to achieve next level results. I first learned of Tim Kight when Ohio State shared the leadership program they had started after the 2012 season. Hearing how they identified Freshman, JT Barrett as an elite leader had me intrigued by what was to come with the Buckeyes. Sure enough in 2014, Ohio State won the national championship against a national perception and in the face of much adversity. As I continued to pay attention to the program, it was obvious the strong leadership the program had. And I came to realize the impact Tim Kight was having behind the scenes. I would encourage you to become a subscriber to The Focus 3 Podcast. It will absolutely be a difference maker for you. Let's get into uncommon leadership and welcome Tim Kight on the SportsEpreneur Podcast. The post SE40 | Event + Response = Outcome with Tim Kight (E+R=O) | A Podcast Discussion appeared first on SportsEpreneur.
Can you believe it? 2020 is nearly upon us. It’s crazy how time flies! What do you want to be known for? That was my journal prompt this morning. I want to be known for helping people do the things that they've always wanted to accomplish but never thought possible. I want to be known for helping people view their lives differently, to dream bigger, and never settle. As I kept writing, I realized that I don't just WANT to be known for these things, I WILL be known for them! The shift in wording may be subtle, but the way it changed my energy and excitement was incredible. Words matter! Your words reflect your inner thoughts and beliefs, but more than that they impact your future beliefs and experiences. By changing your internal conversation, you shift your mindset and your life as well. What words are you using? The way you talk about and describe the events in your life, impacts the way you feel about those experiences and how you will remember them. Your words define your reality, gives it shape, and sets boundaries around it. By altering how you describe your triumphs and struggles, you alter your memory of them and their impact on your future. "Choose your words wisely!" - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven Here's an example: What kind of words did you use after a launch? Did you use words like failure, devastated, not good enough, or never going to work? If you attach those negative words to that launch, then those words are what that launch becomes. But, what if you flipped the script and used words like, learned a lot, resilient, inevitable success, where can I improve? Now you're looking at that launch not as a failure but as a learning experience. When you choose the words you use, you want to limit negativity and exaggeration. Think of a past decision that dramatically impacted your business life. What words immediately come to mind? Are they negative? Try now to think of this experience in a positive light. How does that change your perception of that event? Change your response! Rather than focusing on changing the steps that led to a particular outcome, consider changing your response. Getting less than spectacular results for one offering or another does not mean that the process was wrong, this just means that the process needs to be tweaked. Look for the positive results and change your mindset about their meaning. E+R=O … don't just learn it. Here's how to live it! Event + RESPONSE = Outcome. Success in life and work is not determined by the Events you experience. Success is determined by how you Respond. Purpose of this Episode To empower you to experience success in your life and work no matter what circumstances you face by living E+R=O (Events + RESPONSE = Outcome). Something I've had a growing awareness about lately is my, and everyone's, inability to control things in business and life, and the inevitability that things will go wrong more often than I'd like them to. That's not to say we can't influence our lives, but control is limited. I kept seeing this formula floating around Instagram a few months ago, E+R=O, and tracked it down like a wolf on the hunt to our guest on the podcast today, CEO of Focus3, Brian Kight. At first glance, it's just three letters, and while applying this formula to life is actually that simple, it's more powerful than it appears. In fact, it's one of the most powerful concepts I've ever heard of for handling situations better, and more importantly, making the best out of situations that are less than ideal. E+R=O stands for Event+Response=Outcome, and today's episode is a deep dive on how to apply it. Topics Discussed Applying E+R=O in every day life How to improve discipline The first thing to do if you struggle with responding well to situations Stepping outside of your emotions to make better decisions How to not take things personally that other people do Episode Mentions & Resources Focus3 Podcast Daily Discipline Emails Follow Brian on Instagram and Twitter Focus3.com

His clients have included Virgin Records, SONY Pictures, Daimler-Chrysler, KFC, Federal Express, GE, Johnson & Johnson, Merrill Lynch, Campbell’s Soup, Re/Max, The Million Dollar Forum, The Million Dollar Roundtable, and The Young Presidents Organization. Episode Outline: • A Family Disease – Jack and I begin our conversation by discussing how even though he personally hasn’t struggled with substance abuse or addiction, he has had some very tough times as a child living with an angry alcoholic father, a mother who crossed the line from abuse to dependence, and an aunt and grandmother as well as two of his own children struggling with substance abuse. • The Golden Buddha – Jack shares a story about a Golden Buddha and how it relates to those setting out on a path of sobriety. • Can I Ever Drink Again – Jack addresses the two most common questions that come up in regards to the 30-Day Sobriety Solution, which are 1) Can I ever drink again and 2) Do I need to quit drinking right now? • The Importance of 30 Days – Jack and I discuss an interesting experiment conducted by NASA that demonstrates why it takes 25-30 days to successfully reprogram the brain. • Event + Response = Outcome – Jack breaks down an equation he uses in his book which states that E + R = O, or, Event + Response = Outcome. From The 30 Day Sobriety Solution: “Every outcome you experience in life—sobriety or alcoholism, excessive drinking or “normal” drinking, financial success or poverty, health or sickness, happiness or dissatisfaction—is the result of how you have responded to an earlier event or events in your life. The formula states that if you don’t like the outcomes you are experiencing in your life today, you have two options: 1) You can blame the event (E) for your lack of results (O) or 2) You can change your responses (R) to the events (E) —the way things are—until you get the outcomes (O) you want.” • Why Do You Drink? – There’s a brief but very important section of The 30 Day Sobriety Solution that explores why people drink, noting that alcohol (or any other substance) is merely the symptom, whereas the real problem lies elsewhere, which Jack and I explore. • The Importance of Action – Jack elaborates on an interesting statistic he shared in his book regarding the percentage of information we retain after 2 weeks time and how it depends on the various ways in which we take it in. • The Power of Vision – Jack and I conclude our conversation by addressing one of the themes of the major themes of the book, which is how to get from where you are to where you want to be, or knowing where you are today vs. where you want to be in the future, and the importance of creating a vision and detailed description around that. Sorry I missed last week! I was busy attending Jack Canfield's live event in Los Angeles and being a total fan girl! In today's episode, I share inspiring content that I learned at Jack's event. Starting with Jack's famous formula: E+R=O, Event + Response = Outcome. Most of us live our lives switching that formula to Events + Outcome = Response. Events happen in our life, determining out outcome, and then we respond to that. But our outcome is actually determined on how we respond to the events that happen in our life. When events happen in your career, that feel out of our control, all we can do is control how we respond to them.
Eros is the god of love, right? Eve Hogan's EROS equation (Event + Response = Outcome & Solution) is a “Soul-ution” for relationships. Based on the idea that it is our own response to a situation—rather than the situation itself—that creates a particular outcome, The EROS Equation is a unique approach to improving relationships.Instead of focusing on difficult partners or problems, Eve gives techniques for unearthing patterns or behavior we are not aware of that might be getting in our way of experiencing intimacy. Maryanne chimes in with her own tools to help you create healthy, fulfilling, sustainable relationships, beginning within...and have fun doing that! Join us Wednesday at 11:11 am PT/1:11 pm CDT/2:11 pm EDT we broadcast Live with Guest Eve Hogan authoro of The Eros Equation- A Soul-ution for Relationships. Based on the idea that it is our own response to a situation — rather than the situation itself — that creates a particular outcome, The EROS Equation is a unique approach to improving relationships. Instead of focusing on difficult partners or problems, author and relationship adviser Eve Eschner Hogan enables us to uncover new and creative responses in ourselves using the EROS equation. As she explains in the introduction, Hogan developed this problem-solving tool through years of work with clients, colleagues, and in her own marriage. She named it the EROS equation because it can be written as Event + Response = Outcome and Solutions (E + R = O and S). Invocative of the Greek god of love, this empowering outlook leads to deeper self-knowledge and more harmonious relationships. Writing in accessible, short chapters, Hogan uses real-life examples to look at typical relationship issues, from daily annoyances to extramarital affairs. She highlights common responses that don’t work and applies the EROS equation to show us how our own wisdom, intuition, and creativity can reveal solutions. The EROS Equation makes clear that by changing an unhelpful, habitual response that blocks understanding, we can create a loving and solution-oriented outcome.
