Deze week verwelkomt de Leaders in Finance Podcast Eelco Heinen. In juli 2024 werd Eelco Heinen benoemd tot minister van Financiën in het kabinet-Schoof namens de VVD.  Eelco begon zijn carrière bij het ministerie van Financiën, waar hij van 2008 tot 2011 werkte. Daarna maakte hij de overstap naar de VVD-Tweede Kamerfractie, waar hij van 2011 tot 2021 als beleidsadviseur Financiën en later als politiek secretaris actief was. In 2021 werd hij lid van de Tweede Kamer, waar hij de rol van woordvoerder Financiën op zich nam.  Wat betreft zijn studieachtergrond: na het afronden van zijn opleiding hogere informatica aan de Hogeschool van Amsterdam, behaalde hij maar liefst twee masterdiploma's, namelijk in de macro-economie en in de internationale betrekkingen, beide aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Naast zijn werk als minister heeft Eelco zich ook ingezet als landelijk campagneleider en was hij lid van diverse VVD-campagneteams en verkiezingsprogrammacommissies. Daarnaast was hij mede-onderhandelaar namens de partij bij de totstandkoming van het huidige kabinet. Annemieke Bosman in gesprek met Eline Arbo en Eelco Smits. Regisseur Eline Arbo bewerkt bij ITA James Baldwins tijdloze klassieke roman Giovanni's Room tot een muzikale voorstelling over liefde, identiteit en de angst om jezelf te zijn. Giovanni's Room onderzoekt thema's als seksualiteit, geïnternaliseerde homofobie en maatschappelijke druk, en stelt de vraag: kun je je ergens thuis voelen, als je niet jezelf mag zijn? Een aangrijpend verhaal over passie, verlies en de strijd tussen intens verlangen en maatschappelijke verwachtingen, gebaseerd op Baldwins meesterwerk. Eline Arbo is artistiek directeur van ITA sinds 2023. Eerder maakt zij remakes van de eerder elders door haar gerealiseerde voorstellingen Weg met Eddy Bellegueule (Édouard Louis), en De jaren (Annie Ernaux). Voor ITA regisseerde ze o.a. Penthesilea (Heinrich von Kleist) en De uren (Michael Cunningham). Eelco Smits speelt de rol van David, een Amerikaan in Frankrijk die herinneringen ophaalt aan zijn tijd in Parijs. Smits ontving in 2018 de Paul Steenbergenpenning. In 2023 won hij de Louis d'Or voor zijn rol in Geschiedenis van Geweld bij Toneelschuur Producties en Toneelgroep Oostpool.

Lieve vrienden, Drumroll please... de allereerste aflevering van het nieuwe seizoen staat NU online! Het is de eerste aflevering in onze nieuwe studio en ik ben héél benieuwd wat jullie van het decor vinden! Ik heb in ieder geval heel veel zin in dit nieuwe seizoen. Dit wordt sowieso een knaller! We trappen dit seizoen af met een terugkerende gast: Eelco de Boer. Huh, alweer?! Jazeker! Krap 4 maanden na zijn eerste bezoek aan de podcast schuift hij opnieuw aan. Als je dacht dat die aflevering al baanbrekend was, dan moet je zéker deze aflevering checken. Voor wie hem nog niet kent: Eelco is onderzoeker en auteur van de boeken Verborgen geschiedenis, Verdwenen beschavingen, Abraham was een Fries, Mysteries in Nederland ontrafeld én zijn allernieuwste boek: Nederland, het meest mysterieuze land aller tijden. In deze aflevering blikken we terug op de symboliek tijdens de Olympische Spelen en bespreken we de ontwikkelingen op AI-gebied. Maar nog belangrijker; Eelco heeft diepgaand onderzoek gedaan en wat hem betreft is het zeker: "Ik denk dat de Griekse en bijbelse mythologie zich hier - in Nederland heeft afgespeeld." Volgens de Raad van State rijdt het kabinet volgend jaar 'op de vluchtstrook', en op die vluchtstrook rijden is alleen in noodgevallen toegestaan. De opmerking gaat over het begrotingstekort dat wel erg dicht op het maximum van 3 procent zit. Is dit deze regeerperiode een noodgeval? Gesprek met de minister van Financiën, Eelco Heinen. Had hij niet wat strenger willen zijn? Twee procent tekort was het advies van de Studiegroep Begrotingsruimte. Heinen zit daar iets boven, en komt op 2,5 procent. Een keer wat anders :) Ik ben echt een magische trip aan het maken en op Fiji voelde ik de inspiratie om een meditatie op te nemen voor je. Als je bigger visions will hebben, meer voelen en weten wat je purpose is en wat je echt te doen staat, dan kan het maar zo zijn dat deze meditatie een kantelmoment voor je kan zijn. Om er echt een hele waardevolle ervaring van te maken raad ik je aan om 90 minuten tijd te blokken, een relaxte setting te vinden en om je favoriete pen en journal erbij te pakken. Aan het einde van de meditatie (ongeveer 50 minuten) krijg je de opdracht om te gaan schrijven dus pen en papier is handig :) Ik zou het superleuk vinden om naderhand je inzichten te ontvangen via mijn Instagram DM. Geniet ervan! Eelco

All too commonly this takes the form of individuals and collective groups of people such as whole nations being willfully destructive, "burning their bridges behind them" and embarking upon the unknown just for the hell of it - without this behavior being either inevitable or necessarily "caused" by preceding history. Runia is a practicing psychologist, an historian and a novelist and accordingly, "Moved By The Past" is a deeply humanistic work. In this role she leads PwC's global initiative to help clients transform their corporate reporting to meet investor and stakeholder demands for trusted and assured reporting beyond financial reporting.
