This is the final story in a 7-part series in support of reproductive rights. On election day, Floridians will have the opportunity to vote Yes on 4 to get rid of a near-total abortion ban and reinstate the liberties under Roe v. Wade. The stories in the series were told live on stage in front of 400 people at Temple Beth Am in Miami, Florida on September 5th 2024. As the country gears up for the election on November 5, 2024, we will be sharing all seven stories one week at a time. These stories highlight what the current ban limits and excludes, and how this ban negatively impacts all women and families. Lecture summary: At a time where questions abound about the state and future of international cooperation and compliance across the international legal system, this lecture will consider the new partnership of countries established in 2019 to promote and protect media freedom globally – the Media Freedom Coalition of States. The Coalition offers a new paradigm that seeks to answer some of the systemic challenges to State cooperation and compliance today, here in the area of freedom of expression, and one that puts independent experts in international law at the very centre of its institutional and operational framework. The lecture will chart the establishment and work of the Coalition, through the perspective of its independent panel of legal experts, the High Level Panel of Legal Experts on Media Freedom, and the Panel's work advising States and international organisations across a broad panoply of media freedom issues, and answering requests by international courts and tribunals to intervene in cases of public importance engaging Article 19 of the ICCPR and UDHR. It will focus on examples of areas where specific recommendations by legal experts have already been turned into State policy and practice (for instance, with the creation and implementation of an emergency visa for journalists at risk), and areas where the progress towards implementation has been altogether more challenging.Five years on from its establishment, the Media Freedom Coalition finds itself at a crossroads, while its tri-partite structure of States, legal experts, and civil society is already being replicated by States in other areas of international legal cooperation and compliance.Speaker Biography: Can Yeğinsu is a barrister practising from 3 Verulam Buildings in London where he practises in commercial litigation, international commercial and investment arbitration, public law and human rights, and public international law.Prof Yeğinsu is also a long-standing member of the Law Faculties of Georgetown Law, Columbia Law, and Koç University Law School where he teaches courses on public international law, including courses on international dispute settlement, international human rights, and international investment law. Kamala's Swiss Cheese border

When Kamala Harris was asked on the Oprah Winfrey  infomercial whether she would secure the border if elected as president, she said two things. As California Attorney General, she prosecuted transnational groups for the trafficking of guns, drugs, and human beings. As Vice President, she advocated for the passage of the Biden Border Bill which would have placed 1,500 additional Border Patrol agents on the ground. She sounds like a Republican, as she moves center to appeal to law-and-order Americans.   But, as Jeremy Beck, Vice President of Initiatives for NumbersUSA.com, points out in his appearance with guest host Adam McManus, Kamala, the designated Border Czar, certainly hasn't lifted a finger for the last four years to stem the tide of transnational groups who have been trafficking copious amounts of guns, drugs, and human beings across our southern border. Secondly, the reason why common sense prevailed in regards to the defeat of Biden's sham of a border bill, is that it would have, for the first time, actually mandated a minimum number of 500,000 illegal aliens to be given admittance into America. Plus, the 1,500 additional Border Patrol agents would not have been tasked with preventing illegals from crossing our southern border, but with facilitating their illegal entrance across the border. It's Monday, September 30th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 150 Protestants return to Hidalgo State, Mexico after displacement On April 26th, Mexican Catholic village leaders in Hidalgo State cut the electricity, vandalized a Protestant church, and blocked access to homes of the Protestant minority, reports Christian Solidarity Worldwide. As a result, over 150 Protestant Christians, including 70 children and infants, were forcibly displaced. During their displacement, the group endured poor conditions, living in a municipal building and later a sports complex. They relied on local churches for food and river water for hygiene, leading to widespread illness and infections. Now, five months later, thanks to an agreement brokered by Hidalgo State Secretary Guillermo Reyna and Director of Religious Affairs Margarita Román, they have returned to their homes in Hidalgo State, Mexico. In 1 Corinthians 1:10, the Apostle Paul wrote, “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” Pray that the Evangelicals would forgive the Catholics and the Catholics would repent for their abuse of the Evangelicals. Hurricane Helene kills 89 people, causes $15 billion of damage On Saturday, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis said Hurricane Helene's “monumental storm surge” caused far greater damage than last year's Hurricane Idalia, reports The Epoch Times. DeSANTIS: “We saw really a monumental storm surge. You saw storm surge in excess of 15 feet. So that is much, much more significant than what we've seen in recent storms like [Hurricane] Idalia that hit and certainly [Hurricane] Debby. “So, as you look around here, you see some homes that are now just rubble. There's a lot of damage. We flew over the entire coast, and I remember doing that after I Dahlia, and I remember seeing damage, and I walked the streets after I Dahlia in some of these areas, but this one, wow, you see some just complete obliteration for homes.” Damage estimates ranged from $15 billion to more than $100 billion, insurers and forecasters said over the weekend. Tragically, Reuters reports that 89 people have been killed in South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. South Carolina recorded the highest death toll, reporting 25 fatalities, with falling trees contributing to many of them. South Carolina Republican Governor Henry McMaster spoke to reporters. McMASTER: “We, of course, have suffered a devastating storm. Tragically, we've lost, we believe, 25 people, 25 of our people due to this storm, and we don't want to lose any more. “Be careful of the electrical wires running under downed trees and limbs. Don't go out there if there's any chance that there's any sort of wire running under those that debris, because you can get shocked and die. The chainsaws cannot go in until the electricity is turned off by the power company.” According to a U.S. Energy Department official, roughly 2.7 million customers were without power on Sunday, down 40% from Friday after unprecedented storm surges, ferocious winds and perilous conditions that extended hundreds of miles inland. Samaritan's Purse, led by Franklin Graham, is on the ground helping in Jesus' name. You can sign up to be notified to be a volunteer and you can make a donation to help Americans hit by Hurricane Helene through special links in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. Patients and staff of Tennessee hospital evacuated from roof More than 50 patients and staff were rescued from the roof of a Tennessee hospital after floodwaters inundated the building.  The Tennessee National Guard was part of the rescue effort Friday afternoon at Unicoi County Hospital in eastern Tennessee. The region was submerged in floodwaters from Hurricane Helene. Emergency crews had attempted to evacuate people by ambulance and boats, but the water began rising too quickly, as video revealed. They had no other choice but to seek shelter on the rooftop. Clay Ramsey tweeted four devastating pictures showing the flood waters had reached the half-way mark of the ambulances in the hospital parking lot. Faith & Freedom Coalition to raise $62M to mobilize Christian vote Faith and Freedom Coalition aims to raise over $60 million to mobilize the Christian vote ahead of the 2024 presidential election, with canvassers already reaching over 3 million potential voters in battleground states, reports The Christian Post.  Founded in 2009 by longtime Christian activist Ralph Reed to be a voice and mobilize the Evangelical vote, their goal is visiting 10 million homes in person by Election Day. The expected 10 million home visits marks a rise from the 8.6 million conducted in 2022 and the nearly 6 million in 2020.  The home visits have the potential to reach 17 to 18 million people, as some households have multiple voters living in them which could put Trump back in the White House. Faith and Freedom Coalition has hired 5,000 paid staffers and recruited 5,000 volunteers to conduct outreach in the battleground states.  Plus, the group will hand out “30 million pieces of literature across 125,000 churches, including many in the battleground states."  According to their website, “The key to the 2024 effort is turning out 1 million recently registered Evangelical voters, as well as 7.8 million Evangelicals whom Faith & Freedom Coalition has identified as low-propensity voters." 90-year-old Chuck Swindoll retires from pulpit ministry And finally, a milestone for Chuck Swindoll. He is known worldwide for his Insight for Living radio program heard on 2,100 stations, his leadership at Dallas Theological Seminary where he served as President and Chancellor, and his authorship of 70 books. After 26 years as Senior Pastor at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Texas, he recently announced his retirement with his characteristic sense of humor. SWINDOLL: “We celebrate 26 years as a church toward the middle of next month, literally, on the 14th of October, 1998.  I mean 26 years, 90 years old. That's long enough.” He spoke with grace and humility. SWINDOLL: “Today, I'm filled with gratitude, joy and a deep sense of peace. These have been 26 of the greatest years of my life. You, as a congregation, have been nothing short of magnificent.” And Pastor Swindoll pointed out what he looks forward to in his retirement from preaching. SWINDOLL:  “God has made it clear to me that these five Sundays will be my final five Sundays as your pastor, your leader, your pulpit expositor. Cynthia and I will continue to be with you at church. This is our church, and always will be. We live only a few blocks away, and we have no plans to move. “The difference is, for the first time in over 60 years, she and I'll get to sit together in a worship service. She won't be sitting down there, and I'll be up here.” Even though Swindoll, age 90, will no longer be in the pulpit regularly, he will continue his ministry at Insight for Living, the headquarters of which is located on the same property. When he finally sees his Savior face to face, no doubt Chuck Swindoll will hear the words from Matthew 25:23, “Well done, good and faithful servant! … Enter into the joy of your Lord!” Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, September 30th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. This is the second story in a 7-part series in support of reproductive rights. We hope these stories will help you understand why keeping abortion legal (which means voting yes on amendment 4) is not only important but will also save lives. We know this sounds counter intuitive, but abortion saves lives. Click here to support Yes on 4 and please stay tuned. Today's story is by Nicole Crooks and is titled The Shade of Our Grandmothers' Trees. Nicole tells the story of sexual molestation and rape. Neither the abuse nor the rape were described, but there is mention of both. If this is a difficult subject for you to hear about, please skip this episode. In Nicole's story she grapples with reporting her rape and ultimately doesn't, just as the women she counseled ultimately didn't report theirs.Nicole Crooks is a coach and consultant who is committed to black women's well-being and building community. We asked Liz why she wrote this story and she said, “.... because it was time.”Liz had two abortions. In 1970, before abortion was legal, Liz had to proclaim she was mentally ill to get an abortion. In 1997, when she thought she was in perimenopause and already had a family, she went to an abortion clinic. Her story is about how radically different her experiences were. It's Tuesday, June 25th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Muslims killing Christians in Russia and Nigeria Islam-related deaths have dominated the news over the weekend.  Suspected Jihadists attacked Russian Orthodox Churches and synagogues in two cities in Southern Russia, 75 miles apart from one another, killing at least twenty, reports ABC News.  In addition, last week, Fulani Muslims stormed a village in Kajuru County, Nigeria with AK-47s. As they shouted “Allahu Akbar” or “Allah is Greater,” they shot up a group of Christians who were conducting a prayer meeting for the community, killing five, reports International Christian Concern. 1,300 Muslims died during pilgrimage to Mecca And, just within the last week, over 1,300 Muslims have died of excessive heat on their pilgrimage to Mecca where temperatures have soared as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius), according to the Associated Press.   One of the five pillars of Islam is the Hajj, a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to Mecca. They hope it will help with forgiveness of their sins. But Ephesians 1:7 tells us that in Jesus “we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.” Argentina's food inflation drops from 211% to 0.1% Argentina reports the first week without food inflation in thirty years, and only 0.1% in fifteen days.  That's not bad for a nation that was looking at 211% inflation or 4% per week back in 2023. Argentina's new conservative president, Javier Milei, is wrapping up a visit to Europe, in which he referred to the government of Spain bringing "poverty and death" to  the country.  And, he told an audience that he is defeating the socialists with "the largest fiscal adjustment in the history of Argentina." Trump is angry that Biden has targeted pro-lifers Speaking to the Faith and Freedom Coalition's Road to Majority conference at the Washington Hilton over the weekend, presidential hopeful Donald Trump promised he would take care of the pro-life activists facing prison time “on the first day.”   Listen to Trump tell the story of Paula Harlo. TRUMP:  “In the Republican Party, we will always support families, babies, life. Very important to the Republican Party. “By contrast, Joe Biden is weaponizing the Justice Department to viciously persecute pro-life activists and Americans of faith. Just last month, the Biden DOJ got Paula Harlow, a 75-year-old woman in poor health, sentenced to two years in prison for singing outside of a [abortion] clinic. Fearing she would die in prison, her husband pleaded with the judge for mercy and even asked to be thrown in prison with his wife. The judge responded by mocking their religion. “Paula is one of many peaceful pro-lifers whom Joe Biden has rounded up, sometimes with SWAT teams, and thrown them in jail. Many people are in jail over this. This is just crazy. We're gonna get that taken care of immediately, first day. “But let's call these brave Americans what they really are. It's persecuted Christians. That's what they are. They're persecuted.” Franklin Graham to Trump: Stop cussing During another of his speeches over the weekend, the former president announced having received a letter from evangelist Franklin Graham, encouraging him to avoid foul language in his speeches. Trump said the evangelist is wrong on the matter. Trump justified an occasional use of foul language for emphasis, but then told the audience he has been “working hard on it.”  Ephesians 4:29 is for all of us: “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”  Supreme Court to examine case banning puberty blockers for minors The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to take up a case which challenges a Tennessee law banning artificial medical treatments for minors who want to change their God-given gender, reports CBS News. About half of the states have placed restrictions on such medical procedures. Biden's transgender plan blocked The flags are on the field on this one. Already, two U.S. district judges have blocked the Biden administration's plan to impose Title IX restrictions on public schools in America in an effort to transgender bathrooms and sports programs. So far, 26 states have joined seven lawsuits concerning the policy which is supposed to go into effect on August 1st. The Scriptures do speak to this moral issue. Deuteronomy 22:5 says, “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.” Will women be drafted? The U.S. Senate has approved a measure that would include women in the military draft, reports The Hill.com. The provision is not contained in the House version of the National Defense Authorization Act before Congress.  And a spokesperson for House Speaker Mike Johnson told Fox News Digital that he is opposed to the inclusion of women in the draft. Presently, according to Pew Research, Israel, Eritrea, Mali, Morocco, North Korea, Tunisia, Mozambique, Norway, and Sweden include women in their selective service program. 2,750 pro-life pregnancy centers vs. 1,603 abortion mills Lifeway Research reports that 16% of Protestant churches support crisis pregnancy centers in the United States.  Baptist churches are three times more likely to provide financial support for the pro-life centers than Lutheran Churches. According to the data, 2,750 pro-life pregnancy centers provide $358 million of free services to women across the country each year, according to a Charlotte Lozier Institute report issued last December.  By contrast, as of 2020, there were 1,603 facilities conducting abortions in America.  Sadly, states are now spending over $200 million annually on abortion services, and the federal government is funding domestic abortion businesses to the tune of $390 million per year.  That's about the same amount of money donated each year by private charity to pro-life pregnancy centers. 21 Worldview listeners donated $4,140 And finally, toward our $84,000 final goal by 5:00pm central this Saturday, June 29, 21 Worldview listeners stepped up to the plate to help fund our 6-member team for another fiscal year. On this week's episode of The Saturday Show with Jonathan Capehart: Donald Trump rallies religious activists at the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference with the same old rants and lies while declaring, without a hint of irony, his love for the Ten Commandments. Susan Del Percio  and Ashley Etienne join me to discuss the politics of all this and more. Running out the Clock: The Supreme Court has just days to decide more than a dozen pivotal cases, including Trump's claim of presidential immunity. Mark Joseph Stern and Leah Litman weigh in on if justice delayed will be justice denied.  And Debate Countdown: In the final weekend before the debate showdown in Atlanta on Thursday, I talk with Bob Bauer,  Biden's personal attorney who we learned is helping the president prep for his debate with his disgraced predecessor. And as a former White House counsel, Bauer weighs in on Trump's claim of presidential immunity. Rep. Maxine Waters also joins us to talk about coming face to face in court with the man who targeted her with racist death threats. All that and more on The Saturday Show with Jonathan Capehart.

A Georgia appeals court has halted the election subversion conspiracy case against former President Donald Trump and several of his co-defendants until a panel of judges rules on whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be disqualified, the latest indication this trial won't occur before election day in November. Also, Judge Eileen Cannon, who's overseeing his classified documents trial, revamped the timetable, pushing several pre-trial hearings later. Former federal judge Nancy Gertner, former federal prosecutor Jeffrey Toobin, and CNN legal analyst Norm Eisen share their thoughts on the new developments. Plus, Ralph Reed, chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, was asked by The Washington Post how his fellow evangelicals reconcile their faith with the former president's behavior. “Character does matter, and individual voters will make those assessments. But I think that the idea that either voters of faith or all voters disqualify someone because of moral failings in the past is just out of step with who the American people are," Reed told the Post. Anderson gets reaction from Russell Moore, editor in chief of Christianity Today.
