Happy Tuesday! Bernadette has happy news! The One Life Radio podcast has been going great in Australia! Australia of all places! Right now, there are 1,000,000 active podcasts in the world. In the category of alternative health, OLR places #232! How interesting! We have a great show for you all today with Mory Fontanez on at half, so stick around! First up we have Susan Burrowes discussing managing seasonal affective disorder, so let's get started! Susan Burrowes Susan Burrowes is a presenter, teacher, trainer and project manager who holds a Master’s Degree in Communication. Mory took enough time out of her studies to produce the two extraordinary, challenging, terrible, wonderful children who continue to define her life. An award winning author, Susan’s day jobs span fifteen years in advertising, eight years teaching in the college classroom and another ten years training professionals in organizations how to communicate with each other, an irony that was not lost on her as she struggled to reach her addicted daughter. Susan currently works with a team of high achieving young adults in Admissions at the University of California Santa Cruz, where she ponders the question of teen success on a daily basis. She writes about the strength and determination of troubled teens and special needs children. "Off The Rails" Susan's story was unexpected for her, but typical for many others. Susan started to slowly notice changes in her 10th grade daughter. After misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis, finally, Susan's daughter went to an 18 month wilderness program to regain her health and wellness. The worst sign for Susan's daughter was not the drug use and the sneaking out, but the bloody bandages in the bathroom that were due to self harm. If you see your child cutting, take them to a mental health specialist immediately. Television and movies often glamorize cutting or self harm, but it is quite the opposite. It is silent pain. A scream for help. Don't let stigma stop you or your family from getting help. Don't shy away from group therapy, or therapy as a whole. Mory Fontanez Mory Fontanez is a Purpose Coach and the founder and CEO of 822 Group, designing intuitive organizations and cultivating purposeful leaders. Previously the Managing Director of Strategy at a global PR company, Mory uses both her corporate strategy and intuitive skills to coach executives and individuals in aligning their business with their higher purpose. Mory’s work has been written up in Business Insider, Conscious Company, Doing (Good) Business, Kivo Daily, and more. Why Operating from Abundance Instead of Fear is Crucial for Your Career When you work from fear, you limit yourself and your ability to flourish! Abundance simply means that there is more than enough for everything. Money, solutions, time, understanding that there are many routes to find a solution, that is abundance. Where are the areas in your career that you have hit a wall? Is your feeling of hitting a wall fear or reality? Give yourself unconditional love! Once you put good energy out there, you'll get good energy back. The first thing you'll notice is new doors and opportunities opening for you that you didn't expect! See criticism for what it is, but don't allow others to pull you into their hurricane. Look at gratitude around you! Understand what joy feels like to you so you can attribute gratitude with it. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Susan Burrowes and Mory Fontanez! To read and learn more about Mory and the 822 group, click here! Happy Tuesday! Bernadette and Junior are so much fun together on air! Bernadette put up her own 15 foot Christmas tree by herself, she doesn't need no man! We are so excited to have Mo Brossette on at the half talking about stress. But first up, we have Shawn Wells talking about experimentation! Shawn Wells Shawn Wells is a Master of Public Health, Licensed Dietitian, Registered Dietitian, Certified Sports Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition. He is also a Fellow of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. Shawn Wells is the world’s leading nutritional biochemist and expert on Health Optimization. He has formulated over 500 supplements and patented 10 novel ingredients. Formerly a Chief Clinical Dietitian with over a decade of clinical experience, he has counseled thousands of people on natural health solutions such as keto, paleo, fasting, and supplements. As a world-renowned thought-leader on mitochondrial health, he has been paid to speak on five different continents. His insights have been prominently featured in documentaries, nationally syndicated radio programs, and regularly on morning television. Shawn’s expertise can help any health-conscious high achiever to better manage stress and experience higher performance and more energy through utilizing his practical wholistic solutions. Biohacking Experimentation When trying experimentation, takes one thing at a time. Experimentation is the action or process of trying out new ideas, methods, or activities. New Years is coming up, so people think that they can implement new, healthier things all at once, but you don't know what's doing what to your body! Some things may be counter productive. Take the scientific method approach instead of the shotgun approach. Start one at a time, like in science, "make a hypothesis" and then go from there! Right down your data, just like you would in science and in business. Shawn says it is good at the beginning, but it also totally depends on the person, because sometimes focusing on the data can take you out of the here and now. Find out what works for you, and don't be afraid to switch up your routine! Mo Brossette Mo Brossette has been in the health and fitness industry for over 24 years, and he is currently the Director of Mindset and Nutrition at The Adaptive Training Foundation. The Adaptive Training Foundation is a Dallas based non-profit that leads disabled military veterans and civilians through a 9-week mental and physical training program called “Redefine”. Through this unique program, Mo helps these adaptive athletes overcome physical, emotional and mental pain, fear, and self-doubt. He is a corporate speaker on Fear and Human Potential, where he teaches companies and individuals how to achieve professional and personal goals, overcome limiting beliefs, and use fear as your greatest tool for success. You can find Mo here. Dealing With Holiday Stress No one can make you feel any way. Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. Mo Brosettte says to write down what you're grateful for every day! It takes 21 days to form a habit. Instead of turning on the news, or scrolling twitter, what if you wrote down what you were thankful for instead? Your brain starts to associate things that may suck, with gratitude. Set boundaries! If you have a family member that likes to start fights, political or otherwise, just get up and leave the room. Talk about something good, or nothing at all. Nothing good is going to talk about politics at all! Anything that makes you happy, do it. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Shawn Wells and Mo Brossette! You can make a donation to the Adaptive Training Foundation by clicking here! Happy Tuesday! Junior had a bit of stressful morning with having to get gas before work, so he says get gas the night before! Don't put it off! We have a great show in store today with Bonnie Cook talking about mental health, and Del Bigtree on at the half talking abut vaccines and censorship, so stick around! Bonnie Cook Bonnie is the CEO & President of Mental Health America of Greater Dallas. Prior to assuming this role in April, 2018 she was the executive director of Mental Health America of Kentucky. Bonnie has over 17 years experience working in the mental health field. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Mental Health America in Alexandria, Virginia. 988 Mental Health Line Bernadette asks if the 988 number is confidential, Bonnie says absolutely. The 988 number makes it easy to connect with the national suicide hotline number! It is much easier to remember 988 than to remember a whole 10 digit phone number. The police will only be called situationally. Some people just need someone to talk to. A little conversation can make the difference between someone committing suicide, and someone taking a breath and reaching out further. There is a death by suicide about every 11 minutes, how sad. This new 988 number is a game changer! The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has formally designated 988 as a nationwide 3-digit number for mental health crisis and suicide prevention services. 988 is not currently active. If you are experiencing a crisis, text “NAMI” to 741741 or call the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. Del Bigtree Del Bigtree is one of the preeminent voices for the Vaccine Risk Awareness Movement. His career as an Emmy winning producer of the CBS talk show “The Doctors” changed profoundly when he produced the documentary “VAXXED.” VAXXED is credited with igniting a revolution against Pharmaceutical Tyranny around the world. Now, Del’s internet talk show, “The High Wire,” is the fastest growing program in the Natural Health arena! “The High Wire” has over 40 million views. His non-profit, ICANdecide.org, is leading worldwide investigations into drug and vaccine fraud.  His investigations have already resulted in two winning lawsuits against US Government agencies. Health and Human Services and National Institute of Health. Del is probably best known for his powerful speeches that weave shocking truth, searing wit, and dynamic passion into an experience that is often described as electrifying. Vaccines and Censorship We live in a world where we are not able to have a thought that goes against mainstream media. Mainstream media is owned by big Pharma by up to 70%! Del wants us to know that the coronavirus vaccine may be the most dangerous vaccine every created. Del says that the animal trials with prior SARS and coronavirus viruses have gone completely south. There is not any silver bullet that is going to help us fight the virus overnight. Del advises against a vaccine that will turn our realties upside down more than they already are.  We can't write a lot about this broadcast, but we can tell you to listen. Putting the words “Rush”and “Science” together creates problems. Science can not be rushed. With the COVID-19 Vaccine, we are skipping animal trials and going straight to human trials. We end the show with a quote from one of our founding Father’s. “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Bonnie Cook and Del Bigtree. To watch “VAXXED” click here. He is also a Fellow of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. Shawn Wells is the world’s leading nutritional biochemist and expert on Health Optimization. He has formulated over 500 supplements and patented 10 novel ingredients. Shawn’s expertise can help any health-conscious high achiever to better manage stress and experience higher performance and more energy through utilizing his practical wholistic solutions. Emotional Eating Emotional Eating is when you're feeling depressed, angry, anxious, happy, and decide to eat through their emotions. Some people feel inadequate and say "screw it" and snack until they feel better. There are ways to eat through your emotions with our finishing a whole bag of pretzels, so don't worry. Your brain responds similarly to cocaine as it does sugar! Dopamine is released when we consume sugar, and we created a neuro super pathway. Reward circuitry, the cascade of neurotransmission in the brain that leads to the release of dopamine, is kicked off by any pleasurable experience. When you drink alcohol, you get led to more decadent treats and sweets, and before you know it, you've eating half a platter! You can overcome emotional eating! You must become aware, and you must be aware of your triggers. People, places, and things can all be triggers for you to eat the wrong foods! Come prepared when it comes to holiday eating. Bring the healthy dish, and have a plan for your own nutrition. Nootropics Nootropics are drugs, supplements, and other substances that may improve cognitive function, particularly executive functions, memory, creativity, or motivation, in healthy individuals. Some nootropics can be stimulants, so be sure to know which nootropic you are taking at what time to make sure to not inhibit sleep! Shawn's list of top ten nootropic ingredients include ALCAR, Alpha GPC, Rhodiola, Ashwagandha, Lion's Mane, B12, TeaCrine, Dynamine, C8 MCTs, and R-BHB. Bernadette's favorite is rhodiola! Click here to purchase Thorne Research's rhodiola product! We love Thorne! Shawn says that many products that include B12 actually have a cheap form of B12 that contains cyanide! These small doses won't kill you, but they will basically do nothing for your heath. Invest in a great B12 supplement that is already activated and great for your overall health and energy! Happy Tuesday! Today is National No Bra Day! So take that bra off ladies and be free! Bernadette and her daughter went to Ikea yesterday and boy did they have a blast! 2 full shopping carts later, and here we are. We have a great show in store today with Jared Ramirez and Mo Brossette on at the half, so let's get started! Jared Ramirez Jared Ramirez is the CEO of Enviromedica, makers of Terraflora and a sponsor of One Life Radio. Enviromedica is a natural health and wellness company founded in 2007. Inspired by nature and ancestral health, they make premium foundational products to support whole body nutrition and help people achieve optimal health. How Terrain Theory Is Changing The Way We Look At Germs "The microbe is nothing the terrain is everything," Louis Pasteur. Germs are just the umbrella term for viruses, infections, bacteria, etc. Why one person gets sick and the other doesn't has to do with the terrain of the body! Germs can make us sick, but the question is why do some people never get sick and some get sick twice. The terrain of the body has to do with how healthy someone is, if you lead a healthy life,  your terrain is stronger against germs. It's as simple as that! Nature favors the most hospitable conditions! Life wants to thrive in optimal conditions. Get out and move! Your heart needs to get pumping! Jared says to get out there and just walk. One should abstain from processed foods to reach optimal body health. Bernadette asks about over-sanitization. Jared says that over-sanitization may be hurting us and our ability to fight off germs! Herd immunity is where enough of the population builds up a resistance to a contagion or disease. The virus will stop spreading as effectively. Listen to the full interview to learn more about heard immunity! How Pushing Limits Makes Us Stronger The Adaptive Training Foundation empowers those with physical disabilities to transform their lives through exercise and community. If you want some inspiration go the @adaptivetrainingfoundation on instagram to see some motivational stories and more! It is so important to push ourselves mentally and physically because you will never reach your potential until you reach your threshold! Once you realize you can do it, you strive to the next thing, and the next, and you become unstoppable! Growth comes through discomfort. Instead of looking at something and thinking you don't want to do it, focus on what you want to get out of it. So if you want to be stronger, no matter the task, you must muster the strength to get through the hard stuff. Understand the difference between injury and pain. You can be in pain while working out, but if the pain stops you from moving, that's an injury and you need to take it down a few notches. Push yourself to the physical limits, you will survive! Visualize what you want and count your blessings. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Mo Brossette and Jared Ramirez! To purchase and peruse all of Enviromedica's products, click here! Happy Tuesday! It's a beautiful day here in Dallas, Texas! It is sunny, warm, and beautiful, so go outside and enjoy the day! Bernadette and Junior are talking about hurricanes, and how some people throw parties when they find out they will be stuck somewhere for a long time! We have a great show in store today with Dr. Dominik Nischwitz and Robin Perry Braun! Let's get started with Dr. Dome! Dr. Dominik Nischwitz Dr. Dome is a German dentist and naturopath, a world specialist in biological dentistry and ceramic implants, and the president of the International Society of Metal Free Implantology (ISMI). In 2015, Dr. Dome cofounded DNA Health and Aesthetics, Center for Biological Dentistry, with his father in Tübingen, Germany. A pioneer in the field of holistic odontology, Dr. Dome regularly gives lectures and trainings around the world. He is the author of the book we’re talking about today: It’s All in Your Mouth; Biological Dentistry and the Surprising Impact of Oral Health on Whole Body Wellness. Find it on amazon.com! It’s All in Your Mouth – The Surprising Impact of Oral Health on Whole Body Wellness Biological dentistry approach is the overlap of high tech dentistry, functional medicine, and health optimization! Biological dentistry looks at the mouth at a different angle, like the mirror of your overall health. Dr. Dominik is known as the wild and young doctor who is making moves throughout Germany! Dr. Dome says that his real interest is in keeping people healthy and educating them about their overall health via dentistry. Your mouth is part of your overall body, including your central nervous system! Teeth are not just for biting, and they are kind of an elongation for your brain. Teeth are kind of like tiny organs, and even though they are hard as stone, they have a blood supply and have the same qualifying characteristics that an organ would. German dentistry had not changed any of it's education literature from 1954 until 2019! Your teeth and tonsils are represented in your C1 and C4 in your back and neck. You could have inflammation in the tip of a root canal tooth that is connected to a chronic shoulder or knee pain! Your incisors are connected to your kidneys, your pre molars are connected to your large intestine, and your molars are connected to your stomach and if you're a biological female, your breasts and ovaries! In your mouth you have a huge microbiome! Gut health starts in your mouth. Conventional dentists only try and keep the teeth there and pretty, you need a biological dentist to look beyond the whiteness of your teeth! It's so important. Robin Perry Braun Robin Perry Braun has a Master’s Degree in psychology, she is a certified Energy Practitioner and ordained minister. She is working on her doctorate in Integrated medicine. She has spent more than 20 years searching for tools that bring authentic healing to the tough-to-heal afflictions. Robin is the author of “A Believers guide to the Law of Attraction”, “30 Days to Peace and Joy” and “Journey through the Storm: Overcoming Your Husband’s Porn/Sex Addiction.” Romanic Love One of the problems in our society is that we have misrepresented romantic love. Movies and television try to portray love in such a specific and convoluted way that young children growing up get confused later on when experiencing romantic love. Robin says that there is a disconnect among our feelings and actions. Most people don’t know what they’re feeling most of the time. We grow up with abuse or trauma, and we get programmed to stuff our emotions and we virtually create energetic walls around our heart that blocks love from getting in. We have become a country that has become comfortable with loving from our head and not our heart. Bernadette asks how high up physical attraction is on the importance of romantic love. Robin says that lust can feel like love, but it's not. Physical attraction is brain chemicals that feel good.

Happy Tuesday! It's been a crazy day here at One Life Radio! We had a little bit of board problems, but we have persevered! We have a great show with Dr. Will Bulsiewicz and Bonnie Cook, so let's get started! Dr. Will Bulsiewicz Dr.Will Bulsiewicz is a board-certified, award-winning gastroenterologist with a degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He was the chief medical resident at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the chief gastroenterology fellow at the University at North Carolina Hospital. Dr. Bulsiewicz completed 8 years of formal research training. His extensive research training combined with his award-winning clinical skills has made him an internationally recognized leader in digestive wellness and gut health. Dr. Bulsiewicz is the author of the book "Fiber Fueled," a bold new take on a plant-based approach that challenges popular keto and paleo diets. Fiber and Weight Loss Throw that diet plan out the window! In his book "Fiber Fueled," Dr. B wants to let people know that they can eat without restriction and still accomplish their weight loss goals. You too can eat beautiful, colorful, healthy foods and not have to follow strict diet rules! Dr. B used to be a connoisseur of hot dogs and bad food, and found himself at a crossroads with his own health, but now he has radically transformed himself and his diet! Dr. B says that he doesn't count how many grams of fiber he is getting daily. Count plants instead! Eating plants is not that difficult, so don't be afraid. Take a few vegetables that you really like and add some of your favorite spices to find a fiber fueled dish that you can make your go to. Grains are one of the foundational pieces for a healthy gut microbiome. Grains are probiotics that feed the bacteria in your gut! Don't toss your grains out, they are needed! Throwing out your grains can lead to heart attacks, so Dr. B says leave that brown rice! Bernadette asks Dr. B about the juice trend, and Dr. B says 100% of the time he would prefer a smoothie over a juice because a smoothie has the fiber. Great stuff here today with Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, we always love having him on! World Mental Health Day Our deepest condolences go out to Bonnie on the loss of her fur baby. Bernadette and Bonnie talk about what kind of dog they would be. Bernadette says she wouldn't want to be a Pomeranian because they talk too much. Bonnie says she would be a mutt. Great answer! World Mental Health Day is October 10th! Awareness for mental health first began in 1992. This recent pandemic has caused us to realize that mental health issues are very prominent world wide. We wouldn't wait till stage four to treat brain cancer, so we should not wait till stage four to treat our brains. We must seek help when we first start feeling affected by our brains chemistry in our day to day lives. The United States are high up on the list of countries with a high prevalence rate of mental health issues. There are some countries that are doing much better with addressing mental health. Germany is a great country for mental health, so let's go to Germany! Bonnie says to start talking about mental health at a much younger age to instill resilience. Bernadette says that children are overmedicated and deprived of enrichment here in the United States. The sooner that we start integrating our physical and mental health, the sooner we will be able to move forward. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Dr. Will Bulsiewicz and Bonnie Cook! Suicide Prevention Shawn once struggled with suicide. Shawn grew up in a chaotic home, where he was bullied daily. He kept his head down and worked on his studies, but tried to make people laugh whenever possible. After years of suffering, Shawn tried to take his own life. Bernadette points out that our own perception of ourselves is so powerful. We accept the ideas that are cast over us when we are children, but often forget our own paths. Shawn says there was never a huge paradigm shift in his life when he realized he needed to change his life, but instead a lot of little changes that added up to something big. Give yourself some space and remember to set boundaries. Also, don't forget to take a break whenever you start to feel overwhelmed. Whatever you were doing, it will still be there when you get back. Take some water out of your stress bucket. Resilience Shawn says that there is physical and mental resilience. You need both kinds of resilience to be strong from all angles! There is the idea of a stress bucket. You only have so much capacity for stress, so be careful that you don't fill up your bucket too fast without a way to empty it out. Shawn says to watch "The Social Dilemma" on Netflix! It is important to understand how children are comparing themselves in these times. Children are now comparing themselves to 8 billion other people instead of to the neighbor down the street. The influx of algorithms and tech has caused a need for different kinds of resilience, and more resilience at a younger age. Bernadette says we need to be thought leaders. Look into your inner circle to become the best you. You will become who you hang out with! Surround yourself with the best people you can find to learn how to be resilient on all levels. We are designed to overcome, not succumb! Supplements For Mood Folic acid and B vitamins are so important for brain health! If we aren’t firing correctly in our brain then we aren’t conducting well, if we aren’t firing at our full capacity, we can’t be totally resilient! If you have been using SSRI’s, try zembrin. Zembrin is a plant from South Africa. It has a long history of use as a traditional medicine by tribes of South Africa. It has been used to enhance mood and cause relaxation. Oil of oregano is not for the faint of heart, but it is one of the most potent antioxidants known to man! Other supplements and vitamins that can better your mood are Ginkgo biloba, Valerian, Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Melatonin, Probiotics, Curcumin and Magnesium, so go to your local supplement store and stock up! Thank You! A big thank you to our guest, Shawn Wells! Find Shawn at his website, here, or on his instagram at "Ingredientologist." Thank you to all of our One Life Radio listeners.
