We get into it, as well as one or two other topics. Banderas is actually Spanish, not Mexican (I looked) but I don't think this invalidates my broader point.  Corbin Reccomends the Mars Trilogy. Matt reccomends 'Hail Satan?" a documentary about jerks.  Next week's episode is about a few movies trying new things in digital around the early/mid-aughts, including: Me and You and Everyone we Know, Once, and Timecode.

LOST DREAMS, 10min., USA Directed by Andrew Wakeman Proctor Lost Dreams is about dreams. Scientists have not fully figured out dreams. The ancients believed you could predict the future through your dreams, Native Americans created dream-capturing devices. Some people keep dream diaries. Freud believed that we could fix people's psychological problems by analyzing their dreams. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt32021226/?ref_=ttawd_rvi_tt_i_4 Get to know the filmmaker: I took an experimental film class at Connecticut College. We studied the works of Maya Dern and Stan Brackage. I was inspired by Anticipation of the Night by Stan Brackage. In the fall of 2009 I received an email inviting me to submit a film to an Experimental film festival in Switzerland. My friend John Prevedini sent me his music “Lost Days” and it inspired “Lost Dreams”. Growing up watching his grandfather's passion for motorsports, Bryce Kenny knew he wanted to one day experience that life for himself. But after making a go of it—unsuccessfully—he realized that his dream was slipping away. But what he never could have imagined was that God would reshape his dream and bring it to life in a way that would exceed anything he would have ever thought possible.    Quotes “When I started getting really beat down in my pursuit of the things that I wanted to do, and the failures, and having to learn all those tough lessons that everyone is going to go through—it empowered me to believe that I could get through anything, that there's nothing that was going to be so hard and so difficult that it would take me out of the race.” - Bryce Kenny “If we've got the courage to move forward, the humility to continue to pray through it, then God will resurrect our dream into something beyond what we could have even imagined to begin with.” - Bryce Kenny “I can't expect God to work and then question the way in which He's working in my life.” - Bryce Kenny  “I am just so thankful that we can go to the Father and He loves us that much that He gave us the Holy Spirit to counsel, to educate us, to give us wisdom in situations, and to prepare our way. I can think of no greater love than that gift.” - Bryce Kenny “Whatever chapter of life that we find ourselves in—whether we're in the birth stage of a dream, the death stage of a dream, or the resurrection stage of our personal dream—our story that we're in is really just a part of a much greater and bigger story, because in the end, Jesus wins.” - Bryce Kenny    Guest's Links Bryce's website Bryce's Facebook Bryce's Instagram   Resources Mentioned in This Episode Great Clips Mohawk Warrior Monster Jam truck Monster Jam Monster Jam University   Connect with Sally Lloyd-Jones Jesus Storybook Bible Facebook Jesus Storybook Bible Instagram  Sally's website Sally's Facebook Sally's Instagram   *Episode produced by Four Eyes Media*

In this episode, Risha Walden and I discuss her experience with being an immigrant in an unhappy marriage where she was hopeless in having the life she had always pictured for herself and her children. Risha shares the changes she had to make in her life in order to make room for the hopes and dreams she had for herself as well as the example she wanted to be for her kids.   Risha Walden is the Principal Creative and Founder of Walden Interiors, a full-service Interior Design firm focused on Vegan Design.  Walden Interiors helps their clients transform their space to meet the changes in their lives whether it is an empty nester looking to downsize or newlyweds starting a family.  No stranger to life transitions, Risha has a depth of comprehension and understanding of how life can change and uses her experience to create a client's manifestation of their dreams.  Using non-animal products, Risha shows that design can be as beautiful and detailed without cruelty.  Risha believes that one's home should express the life one wants to live.    Risha is the mother of three very independent young adults who enjoy traveling and cooking together.  Risha was born in Vancouver, Canada and is now settled in New Jersey.  Her goal is to bring an awareness of design's reliance on animal products and how there are many options available that allow for alternative cruelty-free choices without compromising beauty.     I am your host, Marci Nettles. I have had a lifetime of opportunities where I had the choice to Breakdown or Breakthrough. It is my hope this Podcast may become your light in the darkness, as you listen to the stories of people I consider “heroes.” Each one had a point where they too had to choose to either Breakdown or Breakthrough! Every day was the same; he would wake up, go to work, come back home, eat, and go to bed. He felt trapped in a cycle, but he couldn't quite pinpoint what was missing. John started having vivid dreams every night, and they were unlike any dreams he had ever experienced before. They were colorful, exciting, and full of adventure. Every night he would dream about different places and people, and he would wake up feeling as if he had lived a thousand lives in one night. One morning, John woke up from a particularly vivid dream feeling restless. He couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to life than what he was living, and he couldn't ignore the nagging voice in his head that kept telling him to go on an adventure. John had been living the same routine for years. He would wake up at the same time every day, rush through his morning routine, and head off to work. His job was mundane, and he found little satisfaction in it. He would come back home tired and exhausted, watch some TV, eat dinner, and go to bed, only to repeat the same cycle the next day. Despite his routine, John had always been a dreamer. He had always wanted more out of life, but he didn't know how to break free from the monotony. However, his dreams were the only source of excitement in his life. Every night, he would have vivid dreams that took him to different places and introduced him to new people. He felt alive in his dreams, and he would wake up feeling refreshed and energized. As the days went by, John started feeling restless. He knew that there had to be more to life than what he was living, and he couldn't ignore the voice in his head that kept telling him to go on an adventure. He started paying more attention to his dreams, trying to decipher their meanings. He found himself longing for the places he visited in his dreams, and the people he met there. One morning, John woke up from a particularly vivid dream that left him feeling restless. He got out of bed and stared out of the window, watching the busy city come to life. He knew that he couldn't go on living his life in the same way anymore. He had to break free from his routine and go on an adventure. John sat down and started planning his journey. He didn't know where he was going or what he was looking for, but he knew that he had to follow his dreams. He packed a bag with some clothes, a map, and some food, and started walking towards the mountains that he had seen in his dream the night before. As he walked, he saw the world in a new light. The colors were brighter, the air was fresher, and the people he met were kinder. He felt alive for the first time in years, and he knew that he was on the right path. The journey had just begun, and John was ready for whatever lay ahead.

Don't weep for lost dreams, they were never real to begin with.'Bitter Orange Tree' by Jokha Alharthi is a fictional series of recollections told by a young Omani woman about her life, family and relationships. It mostly focuses on her grandmother's tribulations and her own personal grief/regret of her passing away.I summarised the book as follows. "I came in to this blank was pleasantly surprised considering it is outside of my normal genre's of reading. There are some nice cultural insights to take away and I was impressed by the qualities of fortitude and hardiness found in the grandmother. The constant style of switching back and forth was ok for this book, but certainly would get tiresome if I read more like this."I hope you have a fantastic day wherever you are in the world.

The Secret to Manifesting Money CHEERS to attracting the best of the best and refusing to settle for anything less! Simply saying these statements isn't enough. We've all done it; most of us have done it buzzed this time of year. We proclaim what the New Year will bring, and how we're going to magically transform into this fresh version of ourselves simply because this current year is behind us. I wish it were that easy. I can't tell you how many times I did a New Year's toast around leaving my corporate career and starting my own business, or being done with toxic relationships…only to flash forward to mid-February not having taken any serious action. Setting intentions, goals, resolutions, and manifestations WITHOUT clear accountability and major action, will all end in the same place >>>> The Land of Lost Dreams. This is the place where everything your higher self desires goes to be put on hold until you “feel ready,” “are more prepared,” or the “timing is better.” How about you set things up differently this year, in a way that will get you the results you desire? Take a scary action now, so you HAVE TO show up for what you say you want in 2023. This is what I do and what I'm doing: I have a coaching container set up that starts in January. I sign contracts and put money on the line, so I can't back out. I ask myself what will force me to show up in spite of my fears because I don't want to suffer the consequences. Then I take a deep breath and DO IT. This is one of my secrets of how I've manifested millions. Tune in so you can step into your dream life. For the rest of this year, I'm dedicating all of my podcast episodes to rewiring your mind for expecting the best and get it!
