In this episode of Acta Non Verba, host Marcus Aurelius Anderson sits down with Rhett Power, CEO and co-founder of Accountability, Inc., to discuss his groundbreaking new book "Head of Metals: How Leaders Silence Negative Self-Talk and Transform How They Lead." In this raw and powerful conversation, Rhett reveals why self-talk is the most ignored driver of leadership performance and shares practical strategies for managing the mental noise that kills focus, concentration, and culture. From the 3 C's of the Maverick Method to the "plutonium problem" of toxic narratives, this episode delivers actionable insights for leaders ready to reclaim control over their inner voice and build championship teams. Episode Highlights: [2:10] The Seven-Year Journey to Head of Metals - Rhett shares the intensive process of writing Head of Metals with co-authors Ryan Gottfredson and Dr. Susie Burkin, including seven rewrites over seven years. He reveals how the book unexpectedly helped a surgeon's teenage sons prepare for exams, proving that self-talk mastery transcends age and profession. [14:57] The Three C's: Catch, Challenge, Change - Rhett breaks down the simple but powerful framework for managing self-talk: Catch it (notice harmful narratives), Challenge it (question if it's true, useful, or even yours), and Change it (replace destructive narratives with grounded thinking). He provides a practical exercise: write down your negative narratives and track them with check marks to identify patterns. [16:38] The Plutonium Problem: When Leader Self-Talk Infects Teams - Discover why negative self-talk is like plutonium—toxic, powerful, and invisible. Rhett explains how leaders' mental narratives leak into their teams, creating radioactive thinking that destroys engagement, retention, and performance. He shares a powerful story of a CEO who discovered his assistant triggered unresolved childhood issues with his mother. [26:15] AI as a Leadership Mirror - Rhett discusses his involvement in developing an AI coaching platform that provides real-time data to help coaches and leaders identify blind spots. He compares it to film study in sports—giving leaders instant replay of their performance to make fewer unforced errors and exploit opportunities for growth. Rhett Power is the CEO and co-founder of Accountability, Inc., where he helps leaders break limits, make bold decisions, and drive growth. Recognized as a global guru of top management thinkers and a Marshall Goldsmith 100 Coach, Rhett is the bestselling author of "The Entrepreneur's Book of Actions" and the newly released "Head of Metals." He co-hosts "Bestseller Live" on Apple TV and is a regular contributor to Forbes, Inc., and CNBC. With decades of experience coaching executives and entrepreneurs worldwide, Rhett brings practical, science-backed strategies to help leaders silence negative self-talk and transform organizational culture. Most of us start the new year thinking about goals, resolutions, and vision boards. But the kind of transformation we talk about on The Inner Edge doesn't happen on a poster board—it happens inside of you. In this episode, Janet guides you through a powerful internal practice she calls a mind vision, a mental image of your future self that becomes the compass for how you show up, lead, and live this year. Instead of describing the concept alone, Janet takes you through a grounding, experiential exercise that helps you embody this future version of yourself—shifting the way you make decisions, hold boundaries, and carry your presence each day. This is the deeper work of becoming, not performing. In this episode:✅ Why traditional vision boards only focus on outcomes and what they miss✅ The difference between wanting change and becoming the person who naturally creates it✅ How your “future self effect” shapes behavior, confidence, and decision-making✅ A guided mind vision practice to clarify who you're growing into this year✅ How to stop letting old patterns, anxieties, and versions of yourself lead your life✅ Why identity, not goals, drives real, lasting transformationAbout Janet Ioli:Janet Ioli is a globally recognized executive advisor, coach, and leadership expert with over 25 years of experience developing leaders in Fortune 100 companies and global organizations. She created The Inner Edge—a framework, a movement, and a message that flips leadership from mere success performance to presence; from ego to soul. Through her keynotes, podcast, and programs, Janet helps high-achievers find the one thing that changes everything: the mastery within. Her approach redefines leadership presence—not as polish or tactics, but as the inner steadiness people feel from you and the positive imprint you leave on individuals and organizations.Chapters00:00:00 Creating Real Internal Transformation00:05:47 Mind Vision Exercise00:09:02 Future Self PracticeConnect with Janet Ioli:Website: janetioli.comLinkedin: Janet IoliInstagram: @leadershipcoachjanetIf you want to become more grounded, confident, and aligned with your deeper values in just 21 days, check out Janet Ioli's book Less Ego, More Soul: A Modern Reinvention Guide for Women. In this final episode of 2025, Kaye Doran speaks into the collective grief following the tragic events in Bondi, Australia, offering a grounded shamanic perspective on how we can make an energetic difference and support those most deeply affected — without being pulled into fear, anger, or emotional overwhelm. During times of crisis, mass consciousness amplifies emotion. For those who are empathic or energetically sensitive, this can feel overwhelming and destabilising. In this episode, Kaye shares how to remain present, compassionate, and of service while maintaining energetic boundaries, emotional stability, and inner coherence. You’ll be guided through practical, heart-centred energy practices — including cord cutting, heart intelligence breathing, and heart–brain coherence — to calm the nervous system, clear emotional overload, and consciously direct love, compassion, and support where it is most needed. This episode is both a gentle transmission and a practical guide, reminding us that individual energetic alignment creates a powerful ripple effect. When we choose coherence over reactivity, and love over fear, we become a stabilising presence — not only for ourselves, but for the collective. As the year draws to a close, Kaye also invites reflection on gratitude, integrity, and letting go of control, encouraging a softer, more spacious approach to growth and service as we move into 2026. ✨ In this episode, you’ll explore: How to support collective grief without absorbing mass emotional energy Ways to make a meaningful energetic difference during times of tragedy Shamanic tools for nervous system regulation and emotional clarity Heart intelligence breathing for coherence, calm, and grounded presence Why love and compassion are the most powerful responses to crisis Closing 2025 grounded and stepping into 2026 aligned and present Subscribe to Inner Voice of Knowing Podcast by clicking the plus or follow button and let's get this journey started. One of the aspects of food recovery I wished that I had greater guidance around (and had to learn for myself) was discovering how to listen to my body.  Even within different food recovery approaches, there are still all of these rules about what to eat to "prove" recovery or what to do to ensure recovery. I've seen more confusion over the years about what will or will not lead toward a decrease in food coping mechanisms because there is still this idea that there is a right way and a wrong way to recover. When embodiment increases, food behaviors can decrease. When you can hear, understand, and interpret your body's feedback, food impulses don't have to feel so scary to experience anymore because you get what your body is trying to relay. It was the practice of yoga that taught me how to get into my body. In this week's episode, I chat with Jeanie Manchester, founder of Anjaneya Yoga Shala, Master Yoga and Meditation Instructor, about: The impact of doubt on self perceptionBeing guided by your inner voiceHow we are shaped by our life experiencesListening to body wisdomThe connection between lineage and personal identityEmbracing ourselvesAnd so much more! You can also read the transcript to this week's episode here: https://www.stephaniemara.com/blog/the-power-of-finding-and-trusting-your-inner-voiceWishing you a restful, easy holiday week and see you all next week! With Compassion and Empathy, Stephanie Mara FoxKeep in touch with Jeanie: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeanie.manchester/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yoginijeanie/Website: https://www.jeaniemanchester.com/Support the showKeep in touch with Stephanie Mara:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_stephaniemara/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stephaniemarafoxWebsite: https://www.stephaniemara.com/https://www.somaticeating.com/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephmara/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@stephaniemarafoxContact: support@stephaniemara.comSupport the show:Become a supporter: https://www.buzzsprout.com/809987/supportAll affiliate links: https://www.stephaniemara.com/resourcesReceive 15% off my fave protein powder with code STEPHANIEMARA at checkout here: https://www.equipfoods.com/STEPHANIEMARAUse my Amazon Affiliate link when shopping on Amazon: https://amzn.to/448IyPl Special thanks to Bendsound for the music in this episode. www.benso...

The Inner Shift That Ends the Need to Escape with Jay Stinnett | The Hopeaholics PodcastIn this powerful and deeply reflective episode, longtime sober member, historian, spiritual teacher, and filmmaker Jay Stinnett shares an extraordinary journey that spans addiction, surrender, awakening, and a lifetime of conscious spiritual practice. With more than four decades of continuous sobriety, Jay recounts hitting bottom at a young age, walking into his first recovery meeting broken and desperate, and experiencing a profound inner shift that changed him on a cellular level. He explores addiction as a spiritual malady, the illusion that something outside ourselves can make us whole, and how true healing comes through rigorous honesty, amends, service, prayer, and meditation. The conversation weaves through raw personal stories of early recovery, sponsorship, marriage, grief, and loss, while also diving into the deeper spiritual roots of the recovery movement and the importance of conscious contact with a higher power. Jay also shares the remarkable story behind producing the award-winning documentary Bill W: Conscious Contact, including risking everything to tell a story he felt spiritually called to share. Today, I interview Desislava Dimitrova, who grew up learning to stay quiet in order to keep the peace. She shares what it was like growing up in a strict home where it did not feel safe to speak, and how being quiet became a way to protect herself from a very young age.A major turning point came later in her life through a serious illness that divided her life into before and after. The long healing process forced her to slow down, listen deeply, and face her biggest fears. Through years of meditation and healing, she began reconnecting with her heart and the deeper knowing that had always been there.Today, Desislava uses her voice to help others slow down and listen to their heart. Through meditation and a personal, intuitive approach, she supports people in finding healing, clarity, and a deeper connection to themselves.__________________Desislava Dimitrova is a holistic whole health consultant with intuitive and healing abilities. There comes a moment — sometimes quiet, sometimes painfully loud — when something in your life that once felt effortless begins to feel heavy. Maybe it's the sinking feeling as Sunday night arrives, the subtle dread before opening your laptop, or the growing awareness that you no longer feel like yourself. In today's episode, Janet explores these moments not as inconveniences, but as invitations, signals from within that something in your life is no longer aligned with who you are becoming. This conversation is about the real, grounded work of letting go. Not the inspirational-quote version, but the soul-level honesty it takes to admit when a job, relationship, role, or identity no longer fits. You'll also hear practical, compassionate guidance for navigating change when you have real responsibilities and can't simply walk away overnight. In this episode:✅ How misalignment first appears in subtle emotional or physical signals✅ The quiet internal process of letting go before any external change occurs✅ How to create a grounded, realistic runway for change✅ Why strengthening your financial foundation is essential for meaningful freedom✅ The importance of boundaries, support systems, and honest self-reflection✅ Key questions to help you uncover what your deeper self is trying to tell youResources:Questions for reflection:Where in my life am I misaligned, but I'm forcing myself to stay? What part of me is asking for growth? What physical or emotional signals have I been ignoring? What am I afraid will happen if I leave? What am I afraid will happen if I stay? If nothing changed in the next year, how would I feel? What would I choose if fear wasn't making the decision?About Janet Ioli:Janet Ioli is a globally recognized executive advisor, coach, and leadership expert with over 25 years of experience developing leaders in Fortune 100 companies and global organizations. She created The Inner Edge—a framework, a movement, and a message that flips leadership from mere success performance to presence; from ego to soul. E432 Inner Voice – A Heartfelt Chat with Dr. Foojan and Josh Tomeoni In this powerful episode of Inner Voice, Dr. Foojan Zeine sits down with Josh Tomeoni, founder of Ex-Derelict and author of The Gospel of an Ex-Derelict: Fight. Fail. Rebuild. Josh brings a rare blend of lived experience and professional insight as a 19-year fiduciary financial planner turned men's coach, working with high-performing men navigating divorce, identity loss, and major life transitions. The conversation opens with a deep exploration of how divorce and trauma place every person at a crossroads—a choice between the path of health or the path of destruction. Josh challenges common gender stereotypes, explaining that while men and women don't choose different paths, they often cope in different ways. Men tend to numb through work, sex, substances, or avoidance, while women may rely on relationships or even therapy in ways that can become ineffective if true growth stalls. As the episode unfolds, Dr. Foojan and Josh explore neuroscience-based differences in emotional processing, the role of culture and attachment, and how comfort zones—work for men, relationships for women—can either support healing or quietly sabotage it. They emphasize that healing requires active engagement, accountability, and results—not passive coping or endless talking without progress. Josh shares his personal story of divorce, spiritual awakening, and the moment he realized that avoiding pain only made it return stronger and more destructive. This realization shaped both of his books and his mission to help men rebuild wealth, masculinity, purpose, and legacy in their second act of life. In the second half of the episode, Josh introduces his latest book, The Gospel of an Ex-Derelict: Fight. Fail. Rebuild., a powerful blend of memoir and practical guidance designed to help men integrate mental, emotional, spiritual, and financial clarity. Rather than promoting surface-level fixes like money or physical appearance, Josh focuses on identity reconstruction, intentional masculinity, and purposeful living after loss. The conversation concludes with a profound reminder: the only way forward is through the pain. Avoiding discomfort only guarantees deeper suffering later. Growth, healing, and strength come from facing hard truths directly—and doing the work when it matters most. ⏱️ CHAPTER TIMESTAMPS (CLICKABLE) 00:00 – Welcome to Inner Voice with Dr. Foojan 02:26 – Meet Josh Tomeoni: Ex-Derelict & Men's Coach 05:52 – Divorce from the Male Perspective 07:14 – Spiritual Awakening After Divorce 08:30 – Numbing Pain Through Sex, Substances & Avoidance 10:29 – Why Men Feel Alone After Divorce 12:02 – The Traps Men Fall Into During Divorce 13:04 – Do Women Heal Faster Than Men? Have you ever noticed that your biggest insights rarely show up when you're forcing yourself to figure something out? They arrive in the shower, on a walk, in the quiet moments between all the doing. They come when your mind finally slows down enough for something deeper to surface. In today's episode of The Inner Edge, Janet explores this “higher wisdom” we all have access to but rarely create space to hear.Drawing from neuroscience, decades of leadership coaching, and personal stories, Janet reveals why relying solely on rational analysis leaves our decisions incomplete and how integrating intuition, stillness, and embodied awareness leads to truer, more aligned choices. In a world obsessed with speed and productivity, reconnecting with our inner intelligence is not just helpful, it's essential. In this episode:✅ Why your deepest insights emerge when you stop overthinking✅ How leaders limit themselves when they rely only on rational analysis✅ What neuroscience reveals about intuition and the default mode network✅ How to create stillness to regulate your nervous system and think more clearly✅ What your body signals before your mind catches up✅ The power of stepping away to let unconscious processing work for youAbout Janet Ioli:Janet Ioli is a globally recognized executive advisor, coach, and leadership expert with over 25 years of experience developing leaders in Fortune 100 companies and global organizations. She created The Inner Edge, a framework, a movement, and a message that flips leadership from mere success performance to presence; from ego to soul. This week, Kristin and I dive into aphantasia, anendophasia, and why apparently my wife's brain works more like a slideshow than a podcast. I'm learning things about her that I wish I didn't know, and she's learning that most people don't think in GIFs. We also talk about what happens when meditation goes wrong, how brains get rewired after trauma, and why sometimes “turning your brain off” might actually mean “floating into the void.” Then we flip open the med student bible for a crash course in aphasia, before spiraling into phantom limb pain and Charles Bonnet syndrome. Takeaways: Aphasia vs. Dysarthria: The difference between not knowing what to say and just not being able to say it. Meditation Meltdowns: Why Kristin's version of “mindfulness” ends in existential dread. Inner Voice or Image Stream?: The fascinating brain split you didn't know existed.
