Written by John Christian Plummer who has written the “Mystery 101” series, “Curious Caterer Dying for Chocolate and Grilling Season,” and “Francesca Quinn PI.”  Elizabeth Henstridge stars as Dr. Emilia Priestly. She was in 2019's “Christmas at the Plaza” and 136 episodes as Jemma Simmons on Agents of SHIELD. Charlie Weber plays Jason Trent. Trent has 41 acting credits on IMDB including last year's “Christmas Bedtime Stories” and 90 episodes of “How to Get Away with Murder.” Kezia Burrows plays friend and 5% investor Jane Alcott. She has 39 acting credits but this appears to be her first movie for Hallmark. Largely as a result of the pandemic, Disney has posted its first quarterly loss in decades.   Here are the details:   Disney lost $4.72 billion in the three months ending June 27, with total revenue falling 42% to $11.8 billion. The company earned a profit of $1.43 billion in the same quarter last year.   Revenues from its theatrical, theme park, and live sports businesses were severely dented by the pandemic. Costs relating to its Fox acquisition, including integration expenses and severance pay, were also a factor.   The direct-to-consumer and international division was the only one to report an increase in year-over-year revenue. In less than nine months, Disney+ has passed 60 million subscribers — a milestone Netflix took around eight years to reach. Combined with subscribers to Disney’s other streaming services, like Hulu and ESPN+, Disney has over 100 million subscribers.   The company revealed that the much-delayed Mulan will launch on Disney+ as a premium rental, costing around $30 in the U.S. and other territories. Disney CEO Bob Chapek called this strategy a “one-off,” but added that Disney+ is now the company’s top priority.   Chapek also announced a new streaming service under the Star brand it inherited from Fox; it will include content from ABC, FX, Freeform, Searchlight, and 20th Century Studios. Disney shares have rallied nearly 12% in the last two days, buoyed by the good streaming news, however they’re still down around 12% on the year.   Disney’s ill-considered decision to reopen the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando while the pandemic rages throughout the state of Florida has been profitable for the company, but less so than it had expected. “It’s worth noting that while Walt Disney World is operating at a positive net contribution level, the upside we are seeing from reopening is less than we’d originally expected given the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Florida,” Disney CFO Christine McCarthy said on the earnings call.   The company’s last quarterly loss came in early 2001, according to Factset Data. "As I Have Always Been" tells a tear-jerker of a story when the Zephyr gets stuck in a time loop that causes the team to repeat the same short moments over and over. But they only have a limited amount of time to stop it before their ultimate destruction. Luckily, Daisy and Coulson are able to remember what has happened each time they loop. However, the key to saving everyone lies in the brain of Jemma Simmons and they can't get to it without removing the chip in her head which will spell certain defeat from a pre-programmed Enoch. We are discussing episode 5 of Season 3 on Agents of Steranko, our Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD podcast. In “4,722 Hours”, we get a full episode dedicated to the six months Jemma Simmons was trapped on the alien blue planet. This was a tour de force performance by Elizabeth Henstridge and one of the best episodes Agents of SHIELD has given us. She carried the entire episode on her shoulders. There was a unique sense of tone and style that raised the episode. It was tense and full of suspense, teetering between horror and science fiction. Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD S2.3 | Making Friends and Influencing People, Recap and Review We chat about Episode 3 of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Making Friends and Influencing People, recapping Coulson and the gang as we finally find out where Simmons has been. She cross paths with the team when Donnie Gill, The Blizzard, arrives with a serious grudge. There were also some real fireworks when Fitz finally confronts Ward face to face.   Listen to the Podcast : This week we finally found out where Jemma Simmons has been. No, she did not simply run away from the damaged Fitz, but instead she is deep undercover at Hydra. We both loved the introduction where she walked to work like Mary Tyler Moore. It was great to see her out from under the constraints of SHIELD. She shined in the office as expected, but also while under interrogation and out in the field. The villain this week was Donnie Gill, who we saw last season at SHIELD Academy. The visuals were terrific again as we saw Donnie become The Blizzard in all but costume. He was also a clear villain with quite a few harsh murders.   Finally, we were in awe of the great confrontation between Fitz and Ward. We had more great music, and the tension in the scene was cranked up to 11. Perhaps this is the first step on the road to recovery for Fitzy? We hope so.
