2008 entstand „Dr.
Today on Too Opinionated we chat with Man on the Inside actress Susan Ruttan! Susan played Roxanne Melman on L.A. Law from 1986 to 1993. She reprised the role in 2002 for a TV reunion, L.A. Law: The Movie. She earned four nominations for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in show. Susan first attracted significant attention playing the scheming wife of George Jefferson's dry-cleaning archrival, Gil Cunningham, on The Jeffersons. Other television appearances included episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, AfterMash, Bosom Buddies, Third Rock from the Sun, Remington Steele, Yes, Dear, Newhart and Gilmore Girls. Buffy creator Joss Whedon cast numerous show alumni in 2008's Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, including Ruttan who appeared briefly in a non-speaking role. Susan had a small comedic role in the teen comedy feature film Bad Manners (aka: Growing Pains) (1984), and the 1990 romantic comedy Funny About Love starring Gene Wilder. She played convicted killer Genene Jones in the television movie Deadly Medicine (1991). She has also appeared in an episode of Hannah Montana ("Promma Mia"). Her most dramatic role to date was in the 2004 remake of Helter Skelter, in which she played the mother of Linda Kasabian. In 2009, she appeared in the movie, Prayers for Bobby. This week we've got guest mage Felicia Day and resident director Michael Fell on the show to talk about what it was like to onboard our first star, the joy of live theatre, collaborative story telling, piles of treats, and murdering NPCs. Felicia Day has appeared in numerous television shows and films such as “Supernatural”, “Eureka” and “The Magicians”. However, Felicia is best known for her work in the web video world. She co-starred in Joss Whedon's Internet musical “Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog,” which won an Emmy in 2009. She also created and starred in the seminal web series “The Guild” which ran for six seasons and won numerous awards for web video excellence. Felicia expanded the brand into numerous directions, including a hit comic book series with Dark Horse Comics. Recently, her outfit from the show was added to the Smithsonian American History collection as an example of early web media pioneering. In 2012 Felicia created a production company called Geek & Sundry. The channel garnered over 2 million subscribers on YouTube in three years and created such gaming hits as Wil Wheaton's “Tabletop” and the RPG sensation “Critical Role”. The company was sold to Legendary Entertainment. Felicia produced content there until 2018. Felicia currently works as an actor, producer, writer and streamer. She's written two New York Times bestselling books and recently wrote the hit Audible Original “Third Eye“. She streams on Twitch weekly, has two podcasts, Felicitations! and Undressing with Tom Lenk, and writes a monthly newsletter, “Felicitations!” Want to Adventure with us??? On today's episode, we're going to go join the fight against alien bugs, join the Roughnecks and kick some ass, and in the meantime, try to sharpen our pet psychic skills, while revisit the sci-fi cult classic, Starship Troopers (1997). This movie was directed by Paul Verhoeven and written by Ed Neumeier. This movie stars Casper Van Dien (Casper Meets Wendy, Sleepy Hollow), Dina Meyer (Beverly Hills 90210, Johnny Mnemonic), Denise Richards (Valentine, Tammy and the T-Rex), Jake Busey (The Frighteners, From Dusk till Dawn:The Series), Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog), Patrick Muldoon (Stigmata, Spiders 3D), and Michael Ironside (Scanners, Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II).This movie was seriously misunderstood at the time of its release, and has now enjoyed a re-evaluation of the content, and just how much of a satire it is. This movie is a good time as an action flick, and is highly entertaining for those who watch it!Intro/Outro Music: "Phantom Fun" by Jonathan BoyleShow E-Mail: cultcinemacircle@gmail.comFollow Cult Cinema Circle on Instagram, Twitter, and Letterboxd Hosted on Acast. Dr Horrible's Sing-along Blog was born from the 2007 Writers Strike as a bold new way to take power back from the studios. Or at least, that's one version of the story. Another involves a long-gestating podcast project. Yet another involves Jeff Bezos. A 42 Minute webseries that apparently earned Joss Whedon more money than The Avengers, Dr Horrible was released almost six months after the Writers Strike but is indelibly tied to it. But was it the first of many, or lightning in a bottle? CONTENT WARNING: Joss Whedon has been accused of abuse, harassment, racism, bullying and gaslighting, by a number of former co-workers and his ex-wife. He denies all suggestions of misconduct. Hallo zusammen!
Commentary! The Musical, a through-sung commentary track with writer/director Joss Whedon, stars Neal Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day and writer/producer Maurissa Tancharoen

On this very Marvel-ous episode of One and Done TV, Ian and John dive floating-head first into the 2021 Hulu stop-motion supervillain comedy M.O.D.O.K. starring Patton Oswalt and Aimee Garcia! M.O.D.O.K. is a supervillain who struggles to maintain a work-life balance, with work being villainousness on a corporate level and life being his suburban dad and husband persona! Ian recounts the tangled web that is the Manti Te'o catfishing documentary. John shares his thoughts on Mike Birbiglia's catalog and his latest stage production The Old Man and the Pool. Ian and John frequently laugh out loud as they discuss America's treasure Jon Hamm, the Marvel television universe, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and whatever a child's party-size lasagna might be. How has Neil Patrick Harris been able to thrive in so many areas of the entertainment biz? “I don't like resting on my laurels,” he tells Backstage, detailing the twists and turns of a career that has enabled him to consistently surprise audiences. Those hoping to avoid pigeonholing and play a variety of roles should listen closely to Neil's advice, both practical and philosophical. “Being able to challenge myself, and keep growing in different ways.... It's a long game.” Since his early breakout as a child actor in “Clara's Heart” and leading the medical dramedy “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” Neil has become a producer, author, awards ceremony host, and activist (and magician!). The New Mexico native has nailed comedies including the “Harold & Kumar” films, “How I Met Your Mother,” and “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” musicals including “Rent,” “Company,” and “Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog,” and darker fare including “Gone Girl” and Russell T. Davies' recent Channel 4 and HBO Max limited series “It's a Sin.” He's earned a Tony Award for “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” five Emmy Awards for “Glee” and hosting the Tonys, and much more. Neil now appears on the Channel 4 and HBO Max limited series “It's a Sin,” and will next serve as judge on “Australia's Got Talent: Challengers & Champions” and star in “Matrix 4.” This episode is brought to you by HBO. --- Backstage has been the #1 resource for actors and talent-seekers for 60 years. FIRST 24:00 are a spoiler-free review with our See It/Skip It verdict AFTER 24:00 it's a full spoiler review Ellie, Georgia, and Ian got together to talk about a little Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. What parts worked? What parts didn't? Is this a short film? A mini-series? A musical? or something greater than the sum of its parts? We answer all these questions and more in our "See It or Skip It" review of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and then we tell you whether you should SEE IT or SKIP IT.

Time for the new episode! You know those moments from film, game or page that just make the whole thing for you? We shared a few of ours from Pirates of the Caribbean, Supernatural, The Long Dark and House of Leaves. Got a few of your own to share? We would love to hear them! We did a dip into the past on our Retro Rewind talking about a favourite production of both of ours, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. For his Hidden Treasures, T brought out the soul-touching indie video games, Ori and the Blind Forest and its sequel Ori and the Will of the Wisps. K was all about the fun action-flick nonsense of her Guilty Pleasure, Guns Akimbo. We then thought we should put on our best-as-possible behaviour for our talented special guests, artist Sarah Joy from Fresno, California and multi-genre singer/songwriter Allison Stanton from Ottawa, Ontario. Both of these lovely humans gave us a glimpse into what they're up to and we want to share that with you, lovely listeners.
Season 1, Episode 15 (originally released on June 15, 2017) The boys are back at… The post The Shame List Picture Show – S1E15 – DR. HORRIBLE'S SING-ALONG BLOG (2008) appeared first on Cinepunx.
Rebecca Parker joins us for Part 2 of her podcast episode. Rebecca is a long time friend of the show and in Part 1, we discussed her love of JJ Abrams and the Abramsverse. Part 2 is all about Joss Whedon and the Whedonverse. We cover the big four: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse. We also talk about Much Ado About Nothing, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Cabin in the Woods and The Avengers. Rebecca also ends with non-Whedonverse topic, giving us shows that she loves that she would love people to watch.
Heather, Jeff, and Rusty finish up their superhero movie talk for now with a look at the genre after 2002 and Sam Reimi's adaptation of Spider-Man which ushered in the “Golden Age of Marvel”. They talk about the changes in scope of the superhero formula, the reasons behind the glut of films with people in spandex, and where they're headed. Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy starts a discussion of the differences in approach between the Marvel and DC adaptations to film, leading to movies about would be superheroes in Kick-Ass and Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. The recent film Deadpool and Netfilx's first season of Jessica Jones are discussed.
Set aside those turkey carving knives and pick up your wooden stakes: It's time to chat about Buffy. This episode has some INCREDIBLE moments of truth about passion and friendship surrounding fandom that I absolutely adore and don't make a point to hide my adoration. Mary is so, so funny and really exemplifies what it means to love a thing so hard that you do the weirdest (read: BEST) stuff. (Mary neglected to mention that she had a Buffy-themed birthday party one year complete with costumes and a graveyard cake. NBD.) Notes: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is required viewing for all people who like things. Anthony Stewart Head's Taster's Choice commercial. Because why not? Pics of Mary's "Getting the Wiggens", "I have lots of money and acid", "This is quite the bonus!"
