EP23-107 - Update on alleged killer of Kaylin Gillis Twitter: @VoicesHead100 Youtube: @VoicesHead100
Every major news story is motivated by selective narratives. Andrew Lester shooting Ralph Yarl is somehow racially motivated, but Kevin Monahan shooting Kaylin Gillis is just gun violence. Robert Singletary shooting a six year old girl and her parents is also gun violence and has nothing to do with race. But when Francisco Oropesa, a five-times deported Mexican national, executed five of his Mexican neighbors in Texas, the story wasn't about gun violence or race, it was buried. Meanwhile, overall crime rates are down and most violent incidents, according to the U.S. Department of Justice, are “committed by an offender of the same race or ethnicity as the victim.” Those crimes are even down. (https://bjs.ojp.gov/content/pub/pdf/cv20sst.pdf?fbclid=IwAR1i9Myq66U12XlhGVSVNfqhAlG-fth5sASZpipo9V3dY6i2IOWvV78d6TU)This is what the mainstream and alternative media does with lies by omission, ignoring of facts, sensationalism, and out-of-context details. Imagine what sort of awesome power could be wielded with the introduction of artificial intelligence into these tactics, with fake videos and photos, even fake voice recordings. Our grip on reality would be lost forever. Now the story of Jordan Neely begins the cycle over again.
In this solo episode, Rev. Celeste discusses the murders by police of environmental activist Manuel Estaban Paez Teran (The family of a 'Cop City' protester who was killed releases more autopsy findings : NPR), and motorist Tyre Nichols (Tyre Nichols case: 4 officers charged with murder are decertified : NPR). She also references the murder of Kaylin Gillis (What we know so far about the driveway shooting of Kaylin Gillis (nbcnews.com)), and attempted murder of Ralph Yarl (Ralph Yarl Deserves Justice Beyond What the Criminal Legal System Can Offer - Truthout) when lost. Celeste discusses the fear that prompted these murders. She also references a Facebook post by a minister friend: "If the news doesn't influence you to pray, I don't know what will.” She states that a grievance contaminates, is a negative emotional energy that distorts your awareness of an event or influences the way you behave toward someone – even though the grievance occurred in the past. She notes how the venom of that un-forgiveness will cause dis-ease.Celeste mentions the police officers in her life and the humanity of us all. Referencing Jesus' crucifixion, she invites us to let our Higher Self inform our lower-level thinking self. She recognizes what happens when you give someone the power to affect your happiness, and the imprisonment. She invites us to choose Freedom. Rev. Celeste states that evil is an experience and experiences are temporary. What is necessary is that we get a lesson with every experience. She invites us to release judgment and use the archetypes to recognize polarities and embody dynamic equilibrium as a deep, inner guiding factor. Rev. Celeste notes the forgiving nature of God as Love and encourages us to let Love guide and direct us, do our forgiveness work and be free - now.Celeste references Roger Teel's book, “This Life is Joy” about opportunities disguised as challenges. Crisis and opportunity are partnered so that we reach a crucial point in our lives as a catalyst for evolution. She uses PEACE as the acronym: Powerful Energy Accessing Compassion Everywhere and reframes THEM as an acronym for “Those Hurting Evoking Me.” Rev. Celeste references Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith's book “Manifesto of Peace” about the soul pilgrimage of a vulnerable heart to authenticity,She references a conversation with Presidential candidate Marianne Williamson where Celeste asks about Williamson's intentions regarding killing us with guns and killing our finances. And how Williamson replied that we will do it together. We grow in God, and we are greater than we know. We are connected to one another by this Light of Love. The Spirit in me acknowledges the Spirit in you as we push through fear and embrace the magnificent possibilities for our lives. We radiate what we are vibrationally. Look around you and see who you have attracted. She invites us to pay attention to the lesson. There is only one of us here. The Creator is offering you more possibilities for your life. It wants your Joy, your Peace and your Divine Power to be completely expressed! She uses the Gospel of Mary, where Jesus invites the disciples to seek the child of true Humanity within themselves and gain inward peace. Support the showDonate - CelesteFrazier.com

Bob Lee, tech tycoon, was stabbed to death in San Francisco and the power elite turned all of their ire on the unhoused. The murderer was actually another tech tycoon. Ralph Yarl, Kaylin Gillis, two cheerleaders, and a 6 year old child were amongst the victims of four separate, terrifying, unjustifiable shootings and murders across the country. Join us as we discuss how our culture here in the United States created, feeds, and supports a fractured society where these sorts of atrocities are merely background noise. ------------------------- This podcast and related works take a lot of effort and time to produce! In a tragic case of mistaken identity, 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis was shot and killed after she and three friends accidentally drove into the wrong driveway while searching for a friend's house in rural upstate New York. The shooter, 65-year-old Kevin Monahan, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. The incident unfolded as the group, lost in the remote area with limited cellular service, turned their vehicle around upon realizing their mistake, only for Monahan to emerge from his house and fire multiple shots at them, one of which struck Gillis. Kinsley White, Kaylin Gillis, Payton Washington, Heather Roth and Ralph Yarl. These five names should never be forgotten. Back from a week off and we are trying to be healthy.... Oscar wimmer Jamie Foxx is still in the hospital recovering from a medical situation. Also this week was a bit crazy with 2 young people, Ralph Yarl and Kaylin Gillis getting shot for basically getting lost.
GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy announced his party's demands in the latest round of public hostage-taking around the nation's debt ceiling. McCarthy and House republicans are calling for massive cuts to social programs, the elimination of the student-loan debt forgiveness plan, new work requirements for welfare recipients, cuts funds for improving the IRS, repeals green energy programs and incentives, and takes back any unspent COVID funds. It seems that flooding our communities with guns and stoking fear, hate, and misinformation on conservative media is producing a new form of gun violence. This week, several young people were shot - and some killed - as they accidentally knocked on the wrong door or mistakenly got into the wrong car. This is the culture of vigilantism that conservatives funded by the NRA and the gun industry have been grooming us for. In Liberty, MO, Ralph Yarl, a 16 year old African American kid, who was going to pick up his sister, but knocked on the wrong door. He was nearly killed. In Fort Edward, NY, Kaylin Gillis, a 20 year old white woman, was looking for a friend's house and mistakenly drove up the wrong driveway. She was shot and killed. In Elgin, Texas, Two competitive cheerleaders, Heather Roth and Payton Washington, were shot after mistakenly getting into the wrong car. Roth suffered a grazing wound while Washington was sent to a hospital in critical condition. According to new reporting in Politico, the Rutgers University faculty unions are considering getting back on the picket lines because the administration is dragging its feet in finalizing their “framework deal” that led the unions to suspend their historic weeklong strike. It was the first strike by faculty in Rutgers's 257 year history. The strike won historic victories on wages and job security for adjunct faculty. At the same time, graduate student workers and workers at Rutgers Biomedical Health were still expressing concerns about the deal as several key issues about their working conditions remained to be hammered out. After a gun store opened up near several schools in Lower Merion, PA, the township's board of commissioners unanimously passed a new ordinance that limits where guns can be sold in the township. Starting immediately, firearms businesses can no longer operate within 1,000 feet of public schools, they cannot operate out of homes, can only operate in commercially zoned areas, and they must follow new safety regulations. Commissioner Dan Bernheim said if the new ordinance “moves the needle ever so slightly…that's the right thing to do.” On Wednesday night an old, 660 pound satellite came crashing down to Earth in a part of the Sahara desert, near the Sudan-Egypt border. And SpaceX's first test flight of its massive Starship rocket exploded a few minutes after launch.
Stand your ground laws provide for a defense in criminal cases where people have legal allowances to use force, including deadly actions, as a way to defend one's safety. This defense is possible when people encounter an immediate threat against their life. Some laws allow for this interaction to legally occur when there are perceived threats present as well. The grandson of Andrew Lester, the man who shot 16-year-old Ralph Yarl appeared on CNN Thursday morning. He described his grandfather as a conspiracy theory-believing, avid consumer of right-wing media who was acting upon racism. Mary Clayton, 81, was married to Andrew Lester, 84, for 14 years and the pair had three children together. Clayton said that, during their marriage, he would frequently become violently angry. He would fly into a rage, and smash objects in their house. The father of Kaylin Gillis, a young Upstate New York woman allegedly shot to death after turning into the wrong driveway on Saturday, said he hopes the suspect "dies in jail."
