This week on KOKO we have a show wall-to-wall with special guests, spinning yarns, chatting shit and most of all talking footy. The first cab off the rank in this episode is our Melbourne based firecracker Andrew ‘Kells' Kellaway, the boys run riot talking about his career, the state of rugby in Victoria and we get a special performance of Kells blowing on his bagpipes. For guest number two, we stayed in ‘Burn City', as we were joined by Super(b) W superstar and former Wallaroos captain Grace Hamilton, to discuss her return to Australian rugby and what we can expect from the women's game in 2024 and beyond. This week we also welcome a new segment to the show with the “Super Sizzler” brought to you by our new friends at BeefEater, where the lads break down who sizzled for them in the week of Super Rugby and we have a special announcement that the are back on tour to the Hong Kong Sevens, thanks to Hong Kong Tourism Board, Cathay Pacific and Ovolo Hotels.Lastly, but certainly not the least, we spend some time basking in the beautiful emerald light of Irish glory, as the KOKO show delivers its grades for every team in a final run of the Six Nations Summation. To help us through this Guinness infused wrap up, we were joined by a KOKO fan favourite and legend of the show, the one and only Mr Mack Hansen. So tighten up your tunics, polish your pots of gold and get ready to river dance out of your pants. It's time for Kick Offs and Kick Ons. How great is Peter Greene and does he deserve more credit as a movie villain than he gets? Why do we love the soundtrack to this movie so much? Which aspects in HD make this movie stand out more than when it was first released? Is Milo our favourite movie dog? Why do we wish we had cops like Kellaway and Doyle? Interview by Kris PetersThere is no substitute for youthful exuberance and commitment, especially in the music industry. While some people tackle the perils of the music world from a young age with an air of arrogance and indifference at what the future may hold, it is the ones who approach music with an open mind and respectful heart that tend to be in it for the long haul.Take Melbourne metalcore act Nth Rd for example. These guys started out playing music as schoolmates in their garage, belting out Metallica covers to get their musical fix. From there the boys honed their craft and harnessed their skills so that by the time they were ready to unleash their debut EP Panic on the world they had already built a steady fan base and laid a solid platform from which to launch the future.Panic dealt with the different stages of a panic attack, and they continue that theme of self growth and understanding on new single River.River sets off on a journey to uncover where trauma stems from and how it can shape a person, dealing with topics considered taboo or too personal by many. But not so Nth Rd who not only write these songs to help with their own problems, but also commit them to verse in an attempt to guide and help others.Jordan Kellaway (vocals), Lucas Banim (bass) and John Mihaloudakis (drums) sat down with HEAVY recently to talk through the song."It's been really, really good," Kellaway enthused of the early reception afforded River. "think it's the best received song we've ever had in terms of how our audience is engaging with it. People are telling us their own takes on what the meaning of the song is and people really seem to resonate with it. That emotional resonance as a songwriter is something you really strive for so it's really good to see that reception."We ask the boys to dive into the musical nature of River."The interesting thing about the song is we probably started writing it well over a year and a half ago," Banim explained. "So it's gone through a lot of iterations, but I think coming out of the last EP... the first EP we did was Panic and then the single we released at the end of last year, Watch You Fade Away, we kind of just wanted to hone in on what our strengths were and just go 100% with it. So I think with this one we were trying to look at what worked in the past and how we can fine tune that to hone in on the best parts of our sound and push that as much as we could."In the full interview the boys talk more about the meaning behind River, their decision to focus on real human problems and emotions, how writing songs of this nature has helped them deal with adversity, new music and what it will sound like, their early days jamming in the garage, how they are finding the music industry and more.

Colombia a comedy of errors tells the story of all fifty million Colombians, examining the country's history, people, culture, colombianomics and justice. The first edition of this satirical survival guide was a bestseller in Colombia from the first month of its release. This, the second edition, contains brand new and expanded chapters including: Dating, Beauty, A to B and Justice, which gives the book its name. The book was written by British writer Victoria Kellaway and Colombian artist Sergio J. Lievano and reveals the secrets behind a nation that has drama and comedy seeped into its bloodstream. The pair study the country with an eye for detail that will surprise everyone, from the most knowledgeable reader to those who don't have a clue about the country. From my perspective, this new edition of Kellaway and Lievano's book is a timely update to remind us why we love Colombia and why we should continue to strive to improve her as well. It feels as if, this time around, both authors have decided to pull off the gloves and take a full swing at some of the more pressing issues of sexism, corruption and political indifference, but of course, with a sense of humour and empathy so as to keep the reader involved and interested. There is an additional editorial maturity all these years later as well. Ideal for all of those out there wishing to learn a little more about our country but in a relaxed matter. Can you imagine that we had the authors on the podcast, way back in our infancy in May 2014 on Episode 48!? That's 334 episodes ago, how times have changed!

In this episode of In Search of the Crystal Skull, Patricia and Arun discuss about the 1994 The Mask based on the Dark Horse comic book series of the same name starring Jim Carrrey, Cameron Diaz, Peter Greene, Peter Riegart, Jim Doughan, Amy Yasbeck, Orestes Matacena, Ben Stein, and Richard Jeni. The story is about a man named Stanley Ipkiss who lives a mundane life working as a bank clerk in a city filled with crime called Edge City. When he found a mask by the bay, he learns that it was created by the Norse God Loki giving Stanley the trouble making, jokes spewing, and confident persona simply called The Mask. The Mask steals money from the bank that Stanley works on and flirts with the girlfriend of one of the members from the Mafia named Dorian Tyrell. Dorian finds out that The Mask is Stanley and tries to threaten him to give him the mask so that he could take over Edge City. Meanwhile, two police officers named Lt. Kellaway and Detective Doyle are searching for The Mask after robbing the bank and stealing all of the money. When the film premiered, it made $351 million dollars out of a $23 million dollar budget. It had received mixed reviews from critics with Roger Ebert stating that while Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz's performances were great and its goofy presentation worked, everything else missed the mark. Comic book fans disliked the movie due to changing the tone of being dark from the comics to a silly cartoon. It currently has a 77% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Since then, it has been beloved by people who grew up with the film mostly due to Jim Carrey's performance. The Mask had spun into an animated series, a sequel called Son of the Mask, and was the most prolific comic book movie of all time until 25 years later when Joker premiered. What do Patricia and Arun think of the film? SOMEBODY, STOP ME!And the Oscar for Tightest Red Dress goes to…Cameron Diaz (a.k.a. the human Jessica Rabbit in The Mask)! Don't be fooled, gang. Jason pretends to hate this amazing movie while TOTALLY appreciating all of Cameron's ASSets. The lesson to be taken from this is that you, too, can fall in mutual VD if you wait long enough for the hot girl to settle for you.Welcome back to 1994, the year that Jim Carrey revealed himself as the mischievous god of comedy who would come to rule Darth's imagination and heart. Oddly enough, this was the same year that Jason was still catering to (not FOR) all the johns of the city. It's honestly the only reason why he's able to smoothly incorporate prostitute humor into his Dad Jokes. The Mask shows us that Stanely Ipkiss was the inspiration for Ted Buckland on Scrubs. Also, Nathan Lane now performs at the Coco Bongo club; he's basically the Lady Chablis of South Beach. We normally don't do what we're about to do, so pay attention, listeners, and get excited, for we have some historic news. #HindsightIsHorrifying is officially hosting our first male guest! He will be joining us on our next episode to discuss Death Race 2000 as well as our upcoming show in Alpharetta, Much Ado About Nothing. This Shakespearean production is directed by Jason Mitchell, in spite of some promotional misunderstanding. Now, we understand that some of you simply don't love us enough to cross oceans for this free show that we're putting on next week for our parents. That being said, stay tuned to find out where we will be live streaming our Shakespearean production. Aussies, we're counting on you. Show us that love from Down Under.Did you know that The Mask and Archer only implement sodomy in the strictest legal definition? Welcome back to the movie description. We felt you guys were getting a little off topic with that Shakespeare nonsense.Anyway! Working backwards, Artie from Kimmy Schmidt = Lt. Kellaway from The Mask = Boone from Animal House. We knew that would blow your mind up just like a circus balloon shaped by a carnie in a dark alley!Don't think we're letting you get away without the important lessons learned from this movie:Monogamy is NOT a type of wood.If you ever hear Darth don a British accent, don't believe a word she says. All henchman should have fabulous hair and all FBI agents should hold hands.Hootie & the Blowfish should never try to rob a bank.White Fanging is ONLY okay with girlfriends and bosses, not dogs. Who else is going to find your keys OR your cheese?Lastly, we realize that there was an actual lesson in this movie. Stanley Ipkiss had the courage he needed all along, even without the mask. So if he ever goes looking for his heart's desire again … oh wait, he already found it with Tina Carlyle, so he's all set. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
