Dan's done an epic job on this! What a wild ride it’s been on the Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel Show this year! From Ricki’s legendary places of birth tour to Tim’s epic Wicked vs. Moana bet win, and Joel hosting the Wicked premiere and getting engaged—this year was bursting with unforgettable moments. We welcomed huge names like Gary Barlow, Albo, Olivia Rodrigo, and Jared Leto. Ricki dropped a #1 album and rocked the Enmore Theatre, Joel stomped through Rocky Horror, and Tim put the PM on hold to taste Joel (don’t ask). Whether it was Quick Draw domination, hilarious Wednesday Wheel spins, or iconic sounds like Tim’s Gay Gasp and Ricki vs. Marge Simpson, the laughs didn’t stop. Relive all the best moments now and join us again next year starting Jan 28th!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome back to another Triple M's gig review! This time, we're diving into the mesmerizing world of the Dandy Warhols, who lit up the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on a rainy 1st of May, 2024. Despite the weather, Sydney's rock enthusiasts turned out in droves for a sold-out show that marked a milestone—30 years of the Dandy Warhols weaving their musical magic. In this episode, Row takes you through a night of psychedelic rock and aural pleasures, starting with the band's iconic opener "Not If You Were the Last Junkie on Earth," setting the tone with its energetic rhythms and entrancing visuals. The Dandy Warhols, known for their cool, psych-rock essence, didn't just play music; they created an immersive experience that felt like stepping into a dream. The highlight of the night was the new track "I'd Like To Help You With Your Problem," featuring the legendary Slash on guitar. This song, along with fan favorites like "Get Off," the intense "I Love You," the divine "Godless," and the synth-laden "We Used to Be Friends," showcased the band's dynamic range and musical evolution. The crescendo of the evening was their biggest hit, "Bohemian Like You," which had the crowd wooing in unison, a testament to the enduring connection between the Dandy Warhols and their Australian fans. Row also delves into the band's consistency with its original lineup since 1998, adding to their cool factor and genuine appeal. Join Row for an unforgettable journey through a night with the Dandy Warhols, celebrating their new album "Rockmaker" and their incredible 30-year journey.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

That dream has been realised, so expect an Em level analysis of it all shortly and multiple ‘Good for Her' button presses. First though we need to award a ‘Good For Her' for Kylie, who dropped her brand new album ‘Tension' and proved again why she's maintained her success for the last 4 decades. Delta also announced her engagement so there's a ‘Good For Her' too, then it's onto the news that Taylor Swift seems to have stumbled into the ultimate new relationship with an NFL player called Travis Kelce. We also manage to throw in a mental side-quest amongst all that Taylor inspired ‘Good For Her' button pressing on “What is Em and Michael's Roman Empire?”. Then we need to cover off the news that Victorian Premier Dan Andrews is retiring and delve into the woman who's been tipped to replace him, Jacinta Allan. We also wanna touch on Em's ADHD Senate Inquiry appearance and how Michael and Em's bestie Jamila had to gently suggest Em maybe pull back on the scorched earth approach in her first draft and consider a few teensy tweaks. Finally, we need to cover off our upcoming End of Year Extravaganza Live Show at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The night reached a crescendo with Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline", a timeless favourite resonating with audiences globally. In a time where the essence of country music is continually evolving, traditional country bands like Midland prove that there is still a vibrant and enthusiastic audience ready to embrace the classic nuances of the genre.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Marianne Faithfull's journey from 60's elfin-voiced beauty to grande-dame of rock music has given us some wonderful music, including Broken English, inspired by the Baader-Meinhof terrorist gang. We look at her career, focusing on what this album meant for her. Many may know the title-track single, but the album brings a bunch of stunning tracks we know you're going to really enjoy discovering, including, “The Ballad of Lucy Jordan” and Lennon's “Working Class Hero”. Our “album you must listen to before you die” is Pink Floyd's gloomy masterwork, “The Wall”, a stunning vision of British society said to be “so unremittingly dismal.... that it makes gloom-mongers such as Randy Newman or Nico seem like Peter Pan and Tinker Bell”. Needless to say, we love it, not least for the wonderful production by Bob Ezrin. (“Berlin”, Peter Gabriel”, and “Billion Dollar Babies” )In “Rock News”, Jeff brings us up to speed with upcoming tours by Roger Waters, Bruce Springsteen, Yes, and Kiss, Oh, goody! In this episode of the Triple M Gig Review, we delve into the mesmerizing night that saw You Am I command the stage at Enmore Theatre, recreating The Who's timeless 'Tommy' album. In an unusual yet captivating twist, the night unfurled more like a classic theatre evening rather than a typical rock gig. With the audience comfortably seated and an intentional intermission dividing the 'Tommy' album's sides A & B, it was clear this wasn't just another concert. Enter the dazzling Hayley Mary of the Jezabels and Sarah McLeod from Superjesus, whose guest appearances were nothing short of electric. Their voices, both distinct and powerful, intertwined flawlessly with You Am I's iconic rock rhythms, demonstrating the collective's profound appreciation for The Who's musical genius. As the chords resonated, Tim Rogers, the charismatic frontman of You Am I, sprinkled the evening with tales - from detailed insights into Tommy's evocative storyline to cheeky and heartfelt anecdotes about his bandmates and the journey they've shared. He reserved special praise for Hayley and Sarah, highlighting their transformative impact on this rock opera's rendition. Whether you're a seasoned fan of The Who, a newcomer to the 'Tommy' album, or you've been riding the You Am I wave for years, this episode promises to transport you to a night where classic rock nostalgia seamlessly blends with fresh, dynamic interpretations. Dear Seattle: Kicking off with Anthemic Tracks The night opened with Sydney's very own Dear Seattle from the northern beaches. With their anthemic tracks and powerful hooks, they effortlessly ignited the atmosphere, captivating the sold-out crowd from the very beginning to the last note of their set. The all-ages audience was already familiar with their music, evident from the enthusiastic singalongs to favorites like "Daytime TV." Dear Seattle set the stage for an electrifying evening. Ruby Fields: A Charismatic Dream Come True The spotlight then turned to Ruby Fields, who proved herself to be an exceptionally charismatic performer. Her band's tight chemistry coupled with her magnetic presence held the audience in the palm of her hand. As she confessed that performing at the Enmore Theatre was a dream come true, the crowd cheered in support. Ruby's live renditions of hits such as "Dinosaurs," "Ritalin," and "Song About A Boy" transcended the studio versions, leaving fans in awe of her talent and energy. Hockey Dad: Surf Rock Infused Anthems That Soared Taking the stage as the night's headliner, Hockey Dad faced the challenge of following two remarkable acts. However, they did so with finesse and style, delivering their signature surf rock-infused anthems that had the crowd singing along to every word. Tracks like "Join The Club" sent the energy levels soaring, raising the Enmore Theatre's roof to new heights. When Ruby Fields joined them onstage for a memorable collaboration, the night reached its pinnacle of euphoria. A Massive Success: The Hockey Fields Tour The combination of Ruby Fields and Hockey Dad proved to be an absolute hit. The Hockey Fields tour exemplified the vibrancy and creativity that continues to define the indie rock scene in Australia. From the mesmerizing performances to the heartwarming connection with the audience, it was evident that the night was a tremendous success for both artists and the fans. TLDRAs Chris reported from the Enmore Theatre, the Hockey Fields tour showcased the vitality of indie rock in Australia. From Dear Seattle's anthemic openers to Ruby Fields' charismatic dreams fulfilled, and Hockey Dad's roof-raising surf rock anthems, it was an evening filled with passion and talent. This event is a testament to the thriving music scene in the country and an exciting indication that great young live bands are still being produced in Australia.MORE DETAILS: https://articles.listnr.com/music/hockey-fields-review/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This episode features Steve Earle, who's been a frequent visitor to Australia since the late 80s when he was riding high in the charts with his third album Copperhead Road. Earl didn't release his debut album Guitar Town until he was 27 years old, but he'd already established himself as a noted songwriter in Nashville. By the end of 2022, Steve Earle had released 21 studio albums, many with his long standing band The Dukes. He's also a published author, has appeared in the TV series The Wire, has produced an album by Joan Baez, and also been involved in several stage plays. He's also released tribute albums to some of his key influences, such as Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and Jerry Jeff Walker, and in 2021 released the album JT - a tribute to his son Justin Townes Earle who died in 2020. Steve will be appearing at Blues Fest in Melbourne along with Lucinda Williams over the Easter weekend, and also at Blues Fest in Byron Bay, plus the Enmore Theatre on April 3. As the rumblings of Scott Morrison's secret ministers become louder, the Liberal Party – and their friends in the media – are keen to dismiss Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's decision to hold an inquiry into how and why these appointments were ever made. No suitable explanation has been provided by Morrison – or the Governor–General David Hurley – and it's essential to find out why. Democracies depend on people of good will, but our system shows that it doesn't cater for people of ill will or ulterior motivations. Morrison proved to be one of these bad seeds and laws will need to be enacted to ensure this kind of secrecy in government never occurs again.During the 2022 federal election campaign, the Liberal Party claimed “it won't be easy under Albanese”, but it's very easy at the moment, with the Prime Minister – and the Labor Party – riding high in the opinion polls. It won't last forever, of course, but it seems that the Liberal Party is keen to stay in the doldrums and continue with their ‘business as usual' approach of opposition for opposition's sake, and quickly adopting a culture of complaint, rejecting everything – even the good ideas – because this, apparently, represents their best chance of electoral success. But looking at the results of the 2021 Western Australia election – the Liberal Party reduced to just two seats – and the diabolical status of the Victoria branch of the Liberal Party – it's a foolish decision. If the party wants to gain political relevance again, it needs to change tack. But does Peter Dutton have the ability to do this? And what does News Corporation have against Joy Division? Usually, nothing. But if Anthony Albanese wears a Joy Division T-shirt and goes to a gig at the Enmore Theatre, it's not very prime ministerial, and it's unbecoming. It's an outrage. Perhaps Murdoch's minions need more joy, and less division. It will be good for the soul.

Live music events don't get much bigger than Fist Full Of Rock, which hits Eatons Hill Hotel this Friday, April 29, and the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on September 2.Featuring The Poor, The Angels, Baby Animals and Rose Tattoo, Fist Full Of Rock is more than a concert event. It is Australian music history unfolding before your ears performed by four of the best in the business.Between all four bands they have witnessed, and been directly involved in, some of the highest points of rock music in this country and come together for a limited run of two shows that promises to excite the inner rock child in all of us.On the eve of the Eatons Hill show, The Angels front man Dave Gleeson took a last minute call with HEAVY to talk about the show and the past, present and future of four of Australia's finest ever rock outfits. We start by posing the question of how all four bands keep delivering the goods year after year."I think its just the fact that you enjoy playing with the people you're making the music with," he replied, "the crowd reaction, and it's definitely become a much less stressful environment than it was. When you're coming up through the ranks and you're playing six or more nights a week - all that stuff that happens in the beginning - you're checking artwork and you're recording and all that kind of stuff so it does become quite stressful but we're at a stage now where it's all cream. It's all just great fun to do, hanging out back stage with the other bands and to get out and rock out for your set and make the crowd go off... it's all just good fun."Gleeson has played with and alongside each of the bands for decades, so we ask him for his first memories of each band, starting with Rose Tattoo."I never got to see Rose Tattoo in their heyday," he recalled, "but the first time I ever saw Angry live was when The Screaming Jets supported when he brought out his Blood From Stone album, and we did our spot and went out and watched the band and after the show we couldn't wait to get in and meet them. We waited ten or fifteen minutes and I knocked on the door and I hear Rob Riley say "come in digger", because he was playing in the band as well. I opened the door and there was five nude men sitting there - and all big men as well! All very big and very nude and hairy. Rob Riley gets up and gives me a cuddle and Angry stands up in the nude and shakes my hand. When I tell people the story they are like yeah Rose tattoo, when you go backstage, everyone's just in the nude after the show. It's like a game of footy and everyone's just in the showers having a beer together."In the full interview Dave talks us through the first time he saw The Poor, Baby Animals and The Angels, getting back into the swing of playing again after the COVID layoff, the contribution of each of the four bands to the Australian music scene, why you should go to Fist Full Of Rock, what The Angels have planned for the rest of 2022 and more.
Rose Tattoo are part of Australian history.Their rock and blues swagger has deliver hits such as Bad Boy For Love, Rock N Roll Outlaw, Nice Boys Don't Play Rock N Roll and more, but it is the enduring majesty that is frontman Angry Anderson that has seen the band passed down musically from generation to generation, their tales of Aussie living and respect local folklore. After a successful recent run of shows as part of Under The Southern Stars, Rose Tattoo return for an all Australian line-up of classic rock dubbed Fistful Of Rock, featuring themselves, The Angels, The Poor and Baby Animals. It is a line-up sure to make the mouths of rock fans salivate intensely, but also one which once again showcases the strength of Australian music. With the first show of the brief tour set down for April 29 at Brisbane's Eatons Hill Hotel – and the second for Sydney's Enmore Theatre on September 2 – Angry sat down with HEAVY to talk about the shows and more of the life and times of Rose Tattoo."There's only a few shows in the festival around the country but it's a terrific idea,” he enthused. “It gives the punters bang for buck. It was always a great idea... I mean these days, when was the last time you bought a schooner? I couldn't believe how much it was, and then you think to yourself why does a schooner cost so much money? Basically it's because of the money the government makes out of it... but let's not get into that! It's giving people value for money is always a good idea, particularly with rock and roll because they're the people who buy your albums, buy your merch and support you year after year. We've got supporters that go right back that drag their kids along to see the Tatts. They've been with us for 40 years."Rose Tattoo have played with all three of the other bands countless times over the years, but we put Angry on the spot a touch when we ask him to recall the first time he saw each band and what he thought of them."I remember the first time (seeing The Angels) - and I think it might have been Adelaide,” he mused. “It might have even been the late years of Buster, or more than likely the early years of the Rosey Tatts. It was so far back that they all had quite a bit of hair (laughs). Doc was playing bass and they were a four piece. They had just recently stopped being a Jug band and they were playing the early version of the style of music that made them famous. Until Doc took over as a singer, I can't remember exactly because it was so long ago, and the next time I saw them Doc was out front and I was like Wow, this is something that is going to work. He was so... the songs have always been good and you can have good songs but unless you have someone to sell the song itself, the visual, and it can be a whole band like KISS where everyone participates. With The Angels they had really cool songs but what made them was Doc. He was electrifying on every level. Baby Animals, first time I saw them I had only heard them a bit on the radio and I thought cool songs. I love successful music – most musos do - but no matter what genre it is, even if it's not your personal taste. I remember seeing them and you fall in love with Suzie's stage presence, but also with her voice. Her voice is magnificent. I remember the first time I saw The Poor and again, really cool band. Skenie is just... he's an old school frontman. He is a force to be reckoned with. They are a powerful line-up and again, the great thing about it is bang for buck. You're gonna get four of the best across the genre of rock and roll and heavy rock, you're getting the best there is.”In the full interview Angry runs us through the longevity of the Tatts and why he thinks they resonate after all these years, the early days of Rose Tattoo and where they fit in, refining their rock and blues sound and how it came into being, the moment he realized Rose Tattoo might be onto something as a band, keeping that connection with the fans, when he thinks the curtain could be drawn on the Tatts, his top 3 Commandments of Rock and more.

Please join us as we welcome Anita Spring to chat with Heart of Indie Radio Co-Host Emme Lentino Spring was destined to become an entertainer, born into the world by two talented parents that toured nationally and internationally with many artists including Johnny O'Keefe and Bob Hope. Anita has been performing nationally and internationally as a singer, actor and dancer since the age of 9. By the age of 15, Spring was performing eight shows a week in Elvis - The Musical at The Footbridge Theatre produced by The Gordon Frost Organisation in Sydney. Many other roles in musicals followed including a lead in the Revolution Will Not Be Televised at the Seymour Theatre, Grease – The Musical in Chang Mai Thailand also produced by The Frost Organisation and Bad Boy Johnny and The Profits of Doom at the Enmore Theatre. It was this show where she worked alongside Doc Neeson, Chris Bailey and Christine Anu. Later, Spring joined Anu again as her backing singer and this lead to other opportunities with other Australian and International Artists (featured below). A performance with Powderfinger at the ARIA Awards led to Spring being signed as a recording artist to Universal Music. In 2003 Spring's first single, Blink - Stay A Little Longer, reached No:7 on the ARIA Australian Singles Chart. Anita has composed and released her own songs over the past three years, gaining her attention as a promising Songwriter and Artist in her own right. Anita is currently paying tribute to Olivia Newton-John in a stage show ICONS in Concert which is currently touring nationally and has been praised over her portray and vocal performance of Olivia in this role.

On 22nd April 2021 Leon and Adrian saw King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard play at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, Australia. The opening act was the equally incredible Tropical F%*k Storm. We are very excited to tell you all about it. Originally sold as a seated and masked show as per COVID restrictions, we were very excited when restrictions were lifted the week of the gig. What transpired was a good old gig, standing up shoulder to shoulder amongst the throng, getting sweaty and having a time just like the old days. Remember those? In Australia we have had very little to no community transfer of COVID for a long time. Venues are starting to open back up to gigs and it feels excellent. Please support musicians and artists: go to a show, buy a t-shirt or a record. In this first of a new series for "From Inspiration To Stage", Inside Information takes you behind the scenes of new musicals and their creators. Drew interviews two of the creatives behind City Theatre's Project Interlude new venture; Sarah Campbell (book) and Jo Elizabeth Finnis (Direction). Their aim? To create a musical in just seven days. "In defiance of the decimation of the musical theatre industry, City Theatre from Sydney will create a brand new, fully staged short musical from idea to performance in just one week. The creative team has exactly 7 days to devise, write, compose, cast, rehearse, stage and perform an entirely new work from ideation to curtain call. In this time, the broader team works to create all the costumes, props, set, lighting and sound design you would expect from a traditional production. The finished work will be performed to a live audience at the Flight Path Theatre and streamed online at citytheatre.com.au on Saturday the 8th of August, 2020 at 7:30pm. This is a free live stream experience featuring talent from WAAPA, Belvoir Street Theatre and Enmore Theatre. The production features an all-female creative team, featuring Sarah Campbell (Book), Renae Goodman (Music), Emma Young (Music/Lyrics) and Jo Elizabeth Finnis (Direction)."
Today I'm joined by the hilarious Kirsty Webeck.Kirsty entered the Australian comedy circuit in 2013 in an unconventional way. After doing a five minute set at the end of a comedy workshop she, having never heard of an open mic room, launched straight into writing and performing a full length show. Employing her public relations background she sold over 100 tickets in her hometown, Canberra. No stranger to hard work, Kirsty, used this show as a launching pad to build a professional stand up career from the ground up over the next few years.Born in Canberra in 1982, as the second child in the Webeck family, Kirsty thrived for two years before a younger sister entered the scene, immediately rendering her a middle child. Over the next 18 years, she settled comfortably into the role, getting caught up in all sorts of scandals and triumphs which have informed her propensity to see the humour in everyday situations. She's a regular guest on ABC radio and in 2018, she was the featured comedian on an episode of The ABC's “Tonightly With Tom Ballard.” She also toured regional WA in 2019 with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow, and opened for Joel Creasey at sold out shows at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney and The Astor Theatre in Perth. So far in 2020 she's been seen MCing the comedy stage at Falls Festival Byron Bay, opening for Tom Gleeson at Bunbury Fringe, on Channel 10's 'How To Stay Married' and all over Zoom during self isolation.Follow Harry:InstagramTwitterFacebookRemember to Like, Subscribe & Review.
Comedy writer and performer, Penny Greenhalgh, has written and performed in ABC comedy programs, including Tonightly with Tom Ballard, and performed an ice-skating routine at the Enmore Theatre. Penny opens up to comedian Greta Lee Jackson about the time she hit rock bottom and how she brought herself out of it.

From the depths of small-town Oklahoma, garage rockers Broncho (rhymes with 'poncho') have spent the 2010s crafting a compelling and unique niche within their genre. It's a band unlike anything its members have worked on in the past, whose origins range from sibling rock duos to bedroom acoustic projects. On the back of their fourth album, Bad Behaviour, Broncho toured Australia for the first time in June in support of previous guests of the show Methyl Ethel. Prior to doors, we spoke with Ryan, Penny and Nathan from the band about what they've been able to achieve as a part of Broncho - and where it might take them next. I went back into the vault and found an episode I recorded with Rhys Nicholson before I'd hit puberty and my voice was even higher than it is now. I don't think this episode was ever published because it was back when I was doing student radio among other narcotics. At the time Rhys was playing in 50 seaters and recently he sold-out the Enmore Theatre in Sydney which has 1,500. He also recently performed on Conan in the US. Go get 'em Rhys!! David Le'aupepe and Joji Malani from Gang of Youths joined the show from backstage at the Enmore Theatre down in Sydney. They are a couple of deep thinkers and spoke to us about all manner of things, from the church, to the benefits of kava, to life on the road as members of one of the hottest musical acts on the scene. Please bear in mind there was a bit of sound checking going on in the venue while we spoke to them.
Tonight we're gonna focus on playing as much material from as many records as possible," promised Kenny Wayne Sheppard ahead of the first show of the tour at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney tonight. "We have a lot of fans that have been supporting us our entire career - over 25 years - but we also play songs off the new record 'Lay It All Down', which has been out just over a year. "We're gonna try and strike a balance. We're gonna play some new stuff, we're gonna play some old stuff, we're gonna play some stuff off the first album, some off the second, some off the third, and just give people a variety and hopefully most people will hear the songs that they were hoping to hear."In the full interview, Kenny Wayne discusses his career, how he finds a balance in his set list that satisfies both fans of the band as well as fans of his guitar playing, how where he was born in Louisianna has had a bearing on the style he plays, what being self taught means to his guitar playing, the impact his music has had on others throughout his career, his personal view on what he has given the music world and more.
My Favorite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark
This week’s My Favorite Murder comes to you live from the Enmore Theatre where the ladies discuss the "Melbourne incident" and cover serial killer Auntie Thally and the Shark Arm case.
For years, Georgia's A.W. would write, record and play music in their bedroom; completely unaware of the impact their songs and albums were having on the world outside. The magic of the internet meant their unique, earnest and catchy music was heard across the world; and it's brought her a surefire cult fanbase along the way. In May, A.W. and their backing band toured Australia for the very first time in support of lifetime friends of the show The Smith Street Band. We were able to steal A.W. away for a hot minute before they took to the stage of the Enmore Theatre. With the precious time we had, we talked shop on MySpace days, getting in on the early days of crowdfunding and how A.W. was into Plain White T's BEFORE it was cool. (It was never cool.) NOTE: This podcast was recorded before A.W. had come out as non-binary and changed their name. As such, it features feminine pronouns and their previous name.A.W.'s single, "Runaway," is out now. You can't keep Brad Fulton too far from a stage. The Melbourne native cut his teeth at the helm of a triple-pronged guitar attack in The Gun Runners before becoming a member of feminist hardcore renegades Outright. He's also subbed in as lead guitarist for Ceres, worshipped one of the dark lords of rock & roll with The Glenn Danzing Tapdanzig Extravadanzig and has most recently spent time as a stage-hand and guitar tech for the likes of The Smith Street Band, Luca Brasi and Violent Soho. In-between duties at the Enmore Theatre for the sold-out Violent Death Gooch Rats tour, Fullo pulled up a chair and shared tales from the road, from the guitar rack and from the top of the stairwell at Caringbah Bizzo's (RIP). Melbourne via Hobart via Sydney's Courtney Barnett has come a long way since kicking around in bands in her youth. This supposed overnight success story has come through years of DIY touring, slide-guitar detours and a steady build up to one of the country's most celebrated contemporary songwriters. Days before chalking up four songs in the Triple J Hottest 100 - and hours before performing a sold-out show at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney - Courtney spoke about her initial interest in music, the communities she's involved herself with along the way and the tall-poppy syndrome that has come with her success.
