How do we find so many different Arnie lines in his movies that aren't funny but somehow are funny? How great is Pamela Reed? How great are the kids in this movie? Why does Ben want to visit Astoria so much? Who is Jenny and why should we be worried she is a serial killer? How is a line about tumours so funny? What is the deal with ponytails and why were they a thing in the 90s? Why is this movie so influential on other movies and TV shows that followed it? What does Manitoba have to do with anything in this episode? Why does Colin believe that bad people are good if they're good parents? And what will we do in order to get Arnie into the same sentence as the words "Oscar buzz"? Get your tumours in order and your nursery rhymes practised as we bring you on one hell of a ride!★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

So it's time to recap this movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode! We think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down". Oh? No? Right...well...we are here then to conclude our anniversary month for 2019 by celebrating the 25th anniversary of the epic movie that is SPEED! Have we turned into the Jan de Bont appreciation podcast? Who is Charlie Flehan? How amazing is Keanu Reeves? How amazing is Sandra Bullock? And how amazing is Alan Ruck? How is the score for this movie not more famous? Do we appreciate the stunts in this film more so than they get credit? What is the 'whoa' moment from Keanu Reeves during this film? Why do we not like old ladies on the bus? How great is gigantour? Are we finding ways to defend the sequel to this movie and will we ever cover it? Is the jump stunt terrible, great or somewhere in the middle? Should they have gone to the airport or somewhere else? Why does Keanu Reeves become the villain as they enter the airport? Why are the planes still flying around when the bus is driving around? Are the one liners really bad but excusable? And how excited are we to see Richard Schiff? It's a blast of a movie that you love and a blast of an episode that you will love so listen in!★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

It's another anniversary month movie and another Arnold Schwarzenegger movie as you prepare yourself for one fun ride in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the classic that is True Lies. How excited are we to get back into a good movie once again? How amazing was 1994 for movies? Why did we chose this film over so many great movies from 1994? Do we think Arnie would've made a great James Bond? What on earth is Charlton Heston doing in this movie? How amazing is Tom Arnold in this film and is he the real star? Is this the best toilet fight sequence ever in movies? Why is there a line about a 10 year old boys ass and why isn't it creepy? Is there a weird tone shift in this movie that actually works when it perhaps shouldn't? How great is Bill Paxton and is he better suited at playing the sleazy and goofy character rather than a likeable one? How iconic is the sexy dance scene with Jamie Lee Curtis and why can't Ben enjoy it as much as he should? Have we come up with an extra plot line to make this movie even greater? How casual are they about the fact a nuclear bomb explodes on American soil? How relevant is this movie 25 years later? Do we like Eliza Dushku? And can we just point out how amazing this film is? Another week of ANNIVERSARY MONTH is here as we take a step back and look at a movie that we never thought we would cover on this show, the 2004 'hit' The Notebook. Will Ben be able to last throughout this recap or is this just Dirty Dancing all over again? Why is Ryan Gosling a thing and will we alienate all our female listeners by going off about him? How amazing is James Marsden and why does nobody ever choose him at the end? Why is the title of this movie just stupid? How many Titanic comparisons cane we make across the recap? Is Noah kind of a creep? Is Allie just a complete pain? How many parts of this movie don't date well when watching it 15 years later? Do these two actually have any chemistry? Why is there incredibly terrible dialogue about birds and what does it even mean? Does writing 365 letters a year really get women excited? Does this movie have the most pointless war scene and death scene in the history of movies? Can we all marry James Marsden? Why do they kill of Noah's dad so quickly and randomly? Did Ryan Gosling start the trend of bringing back the beard? How unrealistic is the sex scene when they finally do it? And is the ending just too quick and too forced to be too emotional? Buckle yourself up for another fun ride of us taking apart a classic chick flick!★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

It's time for a month that we know you ALL get excited about, ANNIVERSARY MONTH! YAY! And what a way to start it off with than a look at the epic film that is so so good we don't even know where to begin, Galaxy Quest from 1999! Can we find something negative at all to say about this film? Is it possible to do this whole episode in the aliens accent and speech style? Is Tim Allen just playing William Shatner in this movie? Is it hard to believe this is Sam Rockwell's first ever movie role and did he deserve an Oscar nomination for this? How many big names are in this movie that you don't even realise are in this movie? How many great one lines will we continue to drop throughout this episode? How great is Tony Shalhoub? Can we come up with one moment that is the best or is every moment the best? Is the chemistry between the cast one of the best we have ever seen in a movie? Does Tim Allen have chemistry with every single person on everything he has ever been on? Is this the least amount of nit-picking we've ever done on a film on our show? How serious do we get about Sam Rockwell deserving an Oscar nomination? And seriously, how amazing is this film? You'll have as much fun as we did recording this by listening so get to it!★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

What a month it has been as we have celebrated our first ever ANNIVERSARY MONTH and what better way to conclude it than by removing our face, swapping it, and then being another person as we bring you our recap on the iconic 1997 movie Face/Off which celebrates it's 20th anniversary this year! After our three previous choices, is this the film that finally brings Ben & Colin together on their opinions? Can either of them pull off a Nicolas Cage impersonation? Does it even matter if the can or not given how awesome he is and he is just the person that needs to be talked about so much in this episode? Does this movie even make sense? Is this the male version of Dirty Dancing in which women don't get it but men love it no matter what? Why does everyone in this movie have a massive dong? Does Sean become a better father when he's actually Caster? Is Sean's daughter a little too into the implied incest? Do we really believe John Travolta is Nicolas Cage and Nicolas Cage is John Travolta? Where does the acting go in the last scene? And is it really not the bees, the bees with the bunny in the box?     Originally, the anniversary show was going to be played today - however due to some technical difficulties, the program that I used to EDIT the show, and put it together, like I did recently with the B B King tribute, the William "Mickey" Stephenson/MOTOWN show, the Mother's day tribute and others - did not work with the current update that I did with WINDOWS 10 - I have to resort to some other methods and do the show next week, which is still in August, by the calendar I checked, so hold onto your mules..... I should have listened to VALCINE's clue when she said she had some issues with Windows 10 and I should have remembered all the other times when WINDOWS updated, it kicked out some programs ETC. ANY WHO - Tonight, you will hear one of the earlier shows - which featured Mark Dixon, Aaron Anderson, Cecelia Davis and Anna Redding.  This was a show back in 2011 where the COOL CRITICS look back at 2011... Enjoy - by the by - there are some shows mentioned here that have changed or are no longer on the network. Thank you for being a part of the growth of THE JKN / The Jay King Network.
