Are you stuck in the 'I'm not ready yet' cycle? Watching your child hesitate before every new challenge? Waiting for that perfect feeling of readiness that never quite arrives? This persistent trap keeps parents delaying important transitions and Gen Z postponing adulthood altogether. With 52% of young adults still living with parents into their 20s and 30s, something has clearly shifted in how we approach life's milestones.  In this episode, I share: - The surprising truth about readiness (and why it's often just an excuse) - How some parenting approaches could have created a generation afraid to act without perfect preparation - The critical difference between real developmental barriers and self-imposed limitations - Practical steps to break free from the perfectionism that keeps us and our children small From potty training a 5-week-old to challenging conventional wisdom about when children are 'ready' to read, sleep independently, or take on responsibility - discover how taking bold action creates the growth that waiting never will. If you're ready to stop waiting for ready and create the family culture you've always wanted, join me in the Studio at https://hifam.com/studio. And discover how play naturally encourages children to challenge themselves and grow with my Reclaim Play course at https://reclaimplay.com. Stop waiting for the perfect moment - true progress happens in the doing, not in the preparing.

This is a powerful episode and I'm grateful of the openness of my guest. Enjoy. Please do share this with one person in your life, or twenty.  Cheers, Traver

You get that piano's hard, right? You're not going to master it overnight.I know you've got other stuff going on, but I don't see how that's relevant. You're always going to have other stuff going on. It's been that way your whole life and it'll always be that. One project after the next.Hold on. You're hypnotizing me. Again.Damn it. We need to back up.Can we get more specific about where we're going here?Like, let's take "piano" off the table. It's too big of a project. It's more of a lifetime journey, like "family" or "health". Not useful for this conversation.Let's replace it with something more specific, like playing "All of Me" for your wife or whatever.Btw, I'm not blaming you 100% for this mess we're in. I've allowed myself to be branded as the "piano" guy. But, it's not like you've been pulling your weight. So, we'll share the blame, 50/50.Now, let's talk about the division of responsibilities.I'm doing my part by writing this email. As for what you can do...One possible action would be for you to reply and say "yes, Michael, I want to play All of Me for my wife or whatever."Maybe you're ambivalent about opening Pandora's box with a step like that, but I'm on the same page. I don't know what would happen after that first step, but I think we need to find out. There's only one way to know.Come on. You're on this list of your own free will. We should be having a back-and-forth here.—Michael This is a public episode. About the episode:  Fast, free, and right at your doorstep — the trifecta of online shopping that has reshaped consumer expectations around the globe. Welcome to a world where patience is no longer a virtue, at least when it comes to delivery times. Zacks delved into why fast delivery has become a necessity rather than a luxury in American consumer culture.
