In this episode, Jake and Simon talk about how to feel authentically happy when there's a lot of pressure to perform positivity or force happy feelings. Jake and Simon hear from two Lovely Listeners who wonder about the true meaning of happiness and how to spot the difference between authentic joy versus fake happiness. In a culture that might encourage us to "just think positive!" we're asking "...should we?"

Happy Wine . . . TGIF! Real life and adulting has been kicking my butt so thank y'all so much for your patience. The publishing schedule will be a bit modified this summer, but we will absolutely be in your feeds with lots of content! Candi convinced me to cover Bridgerton and I am SO glad that she did. Between the soapy mess and smut, this show was right up my alley. Disclaimer 1 - I had not watched Bridgerton before jumping into Season 3. Now that I've watched the other seasons, my thoughts about some of the characters have definitely become more complicated.Disclaimer 2 - I also had not engaged in the fandom discourse, so this episode will be largely free of that commentary. I know that Bridgerton fans are very passionate. Having dabbled in some of the discourse following the recording I just want to say that it's time for y'all to come home from war. Lovely, Lovely Listeners! Hernease here! I hope this is finding you all as well as possible as we run into Labor Day weekend in the U.S. I'm popping onto your podcast feed with a quick note to say the episode this week is obviously delayed! But, we'll be back soon to cover the Peacock episode with Nayland. We may go backwards a little bit where Patricia and I talk about this upcoming Avant Garde episode before we talk about Prajjé's life long history of peacocking, the ogling and objectifying of our male models… once AGAIN, how male peacocking is kind of a redundant term for us humans, and some great listener theories about how maybe this whole episode or maybe even this entire SEASON is a kind of advertisement for NBC's streaming service… Peacock?? We will get to those, the clothes, and the state of our beloved designers at this late phase of the competition very soon. So in the meantime, you can strut your stuff in the form of words and pictures on the discord, on our Patreon page, on Instagram or Facebook, and of course, you may email us at intheworkroom@gmail.com . Wow Lovely Listeners! It is already the end of March and the year is zooming by. Take a moment to hit that reset button and tune in to this amazing episode with Collin Yarbrough: author, activist and (as he refers to it) a bold proponent of infrastructure ministry here in the DFW. This episode really focuses on shadow work, how to acknowledge and develop a relationship with your shadow and how that relationship will ultimately propel you into higher vibrational spaces in order to create true human connection. Collin's personal and professional story fit perfectly with this episode topic. Not to mention, if you are from Dallas, get ready to be blown away by some of the historical facts that we discuss and which are also thoroughly addressed in his book: A Paved Way - Infrastructure Policy and Racism in an American City. Our relationship with our own individual shadows is truly the pathway to a collective healing environment. We have to acknowledge all parts of ourselves in order to commit and create healing and connection throughout our communities and, eventually, throughout our society as a whole. I loved this episode y'all. One of my favs. Thanks to Collin for his candor, honesty and empathy. I hope that this episode resonates with you and sparks motivation to make small changes in your daily mindset practices. Make sure to share this episode with someone you think needs to hear it. Wishing you Lovely Listeners an intentional and purposeful week. Don't forget to leave me some feedback via a rating or review on any platform you use to listen to podcasts - I love to hear from ya'll.

Today we are getting our legal fix while the trial is on hold for the week & if you want to get caught up for cross examination on Monday come hangout. I'm also answering a lot of questions I got from listeners this week on this episode. So on this episode we talk about a lot of things including the status of the trial going forward including Amber's case presentation & Johnny's rebuttal and what witnesses they're both likely to call. So if you want to hear the game plan & what to expect going forward you're in the right place. We also talk about some really important audio recordings. Specifically we talk about a long recording that the lawyers on either side have not played for jury. That is linked here (from incredibly average YouTube) and it is worth the listen - I promise. One more time for the folks in the back - why the UK ruling is not relevant to the US trial - important opinion letter from the VA judge is linked and gives a great explanation. We also discuss the VA laws about IMEs and how that applies to Dr. Curry. We also get into some legal analysis of possible verdicts in this trial . We talk about inconsistencies in AH testimony and what I think she'll be attacked with on cross examination. Also we love Kate Moss and I'll tell you why. We get into the statements made my spokespersons from team Depp & team Heard. We're talking about the opinions & thoughts of real abuse survivors on AHs testimony. & I'll say it again - survivors are the real experts and their opinions hold a ton of weight for me and they should for anyone listening. So come hangout and get yourself up to date before the defamation trial of Depp v Heard resumes on Monday May 16 2022 with the cross examination of Amber Heard. If you're enjoying the show & can spare a minute I would love to hear your reviews & if you have any questions don't you dare hesitate to reach out to me - I am so happy to explain these complicated issues.Contact:Twitter: @LDBlondepodInstagram: @legallydirtyblondepodEmail: Legallydirtyblondepod@gmail.com Important LinksIncredibly Average Brian's video of uncensored Australia audio after the finger incident we can hear that AH says she “didnt mean to” hurt JD's finger & we hear Dr. Kipper and Nurse Debbie discussing the incident and its very clear AH did not the sustain the injuries she alleged https://youtu.be/VDP9NVQmiXwJudge Azcarate's Opinion Letter denying AH's pretrial motion to dismiss - this is well written and explains the legal reasons for denying her motion based on the UK ruling in more detail than I went into. Lovely Listeners have you ever thought about the weather. This episodes discussed the simplicity, literal and metaphoric context of weather. Do you know weather is an ice breaker to start a conversation, join in this conversation to know how.
On this bonus episode of the Tarot Coven ‘cast...we're celebrating another Wheel of the Year festival. Join us as we welcome the birth of the Divine Sun, as we gather our holly and mistletoe, as we get our Jingle Bell Rock on - we're talking all about Yule! We explore the meaning behind this holy-day, share some ideas on how you can celebrate it, how to dress your altar, and what Tarot cards you can work with. There's even some wassailing - if you aren't sure what that is, you'll just have to listen in to find out! As always with our bonus episodes, the Coven has created a Yule Tarot spread just for our Lovely Listeners. You'll find the link here in the show notes, the password to access it on the show itself, and a sneak preview over on our Instagram! Lovely Listeners, we are SO excited for you to hear our very first interview episode! We were so lucky to chat with the amazing, intelligent, insightful, and delightful Samara Kasai of Kasai Thrive. We chat about Samara's journey to Tarot and breathwork, how we can decolonize and de-gender the Tarot, and why making money (and liking it) doesn't make you a capitalist asshole. Make sure you're following Samara over on Instagram @kasaithrive and check out the link below to learn more about Samara's upcoming event: Embodying Self-love, in honour of the Trans Day of Remembrance. https://www.mxmendoza.com/embodying-self-love Thanks for listening and keep making magic! If we aren't careful, we get wrapped up in the chaos of family life - taking our eyes off the bigger ‘prize', notably the wellbeing of our family. Whilst it is all too easy to get caught up in the chaos of school runs, the chauffeuring from practices & competitions and the myriad of other ‘responsibilities' that family life can throw at us … we can indeed be distracted by these trivialities rather than focus on the bigger picture. In this episode, I talk with Becca Cornford about just that. Her family was hit by a ‘curve-ball', not once but THREE times. Here she discusses how she and her family found the time to thrive and properly connect. And through all this, she started a business; which helped both her and her family to find some levity in an already serious situation. Becca is a Mum of three kids - all riding the waves of the teenage years. She is founder of Locker Days (www.lockerdays.com) “Creating uplifting accessories for the inside of a school locker - to improve positivity with tween & teen girls - to support wellbeing both mentally and physically.” Have a listen. Welcome to Episode 12, where we cover Chapters 33-35 of The Raven Boys! In this episode, we ponder the deepest of all philosophical questions: whether or not Gansey might be seeing alternate timelines, what the bathing habits of wizards truly are, what “butternut” is actually a euphemism for, and the hotly-contested eternal debate between, “The Pig is magic,” vs. “The Pig is just a piece of crap”. And, Lovely Listeners, this time around be happy that podcasting is not a fully sensory experience! They don't call it “Devil's Dung” for nothing...
