"The artist's world is limitless. It can be found anywhere, far from where he lives or a few feet away. It is always on his doorstep." "I think of myself as an explorer who has spent his life on a long voyage of discovery." -- Paul Strand In this episode of Street Shots, Antonio chats with guest co-host Keith Goldstein about the changing world of stock photography and Keith's book projects. Keith, who's worked with both Getty Images and Shutterstock, shares his thoughts on their recent merger and how AI is reshaping the stock industry. They talk about the challenges photographers face now, with free image sites and AI-generated content threatening what was once a solid income source for many. The conversation shifts to Keith's creative work, including his book Manhatta, inspired by the 1921 film of the same name. Keith reflects on the process of capturing stunning cityscapes from the Empire State Building and the ups and downs of publishing the book. He also teases upcoming projects, including photo books on the boroughs of New York and Broadway. The episode is a mix of industry insights and personal stories, with a good dose of reflection on how photography continues to evolve.   Subscribe to our Substack Newsletter Help out the show by buying us a coffee! We look at the continued surge of pro-Palestine protests in New York City, starting with a report-back from Monday's shutdown of Lower Manhattan traffic by pro-Palestinian protesters who made national headlines yesterday when they blocked inbound traffic on the Brooklyn, Manhatta,n and Williamsburg Bridges and outbound traffic at the Holland Tunnel. Over the weekend the Ridgewood Tenants Union led a 1,000-person march that highlighted the displacement experienced in both rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods like Ridgewood and by Palestinians at the hands of Israeli settlers. We speak with two organizers from the Ridgewood Tenants Union, Raquel Namuche and Lamisse Beydoon. Lastly, we hear from Indy author Lara-Nour Walton who wrote a cover story about the Little Palestine neighborhood in South Brooklyn.

We all have aspirations in life. Some of these goals we might achieve through hard work, taking risks and making tough sacrifices. Others we might struggle with our whole lives but never accomplish. This is why when we see someone who has done something great, we look up to them with admiration. When you set your mind to something and you persevere, people can’t help but appreciate the feat. Yuval Feldman is a rising star in the New York Culinary scene. She graduated the Culinary Institute of America - one of the top cooking schools in the US, where she specialised in desserts. Then, she immediately started working at L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, a 2-star Michelin restaurant. She also worked in the bakery of Dominique Ansel, who was elected the world’s top confectioner in 2018. But as if all that wasn’t enough, she then started working in the Manhatta restaurant, one of Danny Meyer’s restaurants, where she became a su-chef, a rare privilege at such a young age. Now she’s here, for a short time before she goes back to the big Apple. Yuval Feldman joins 2NJB to talk about New York City’s culinary scene, what makes a good muffin and the question of the century: peanut butter and jelly OR peanut butter and chocolate.
