Today on our episode #381 of All in the Industry®, Shari Bayer's guest is Valerie Chang Cumpa, an award-winning Miami-based chef who along with her family, including her brother Nando, opened Itamae in the Miami Design District, focusing on Nikkei cuisine; and in 2019, the team opened a fast casual off-shoot concept, B-Side, inside popular Asian Food Hall, 1-800-LUCKY. And the accolades have continued, including Itamae on The New York Times' coveted Restaurant List in 2021, and as a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2022; Maty's on Bon Appetit's 24 Best New Restaurants in 2023, and The New York Times' Restaurant List; Val and Nando were the first siblings to be named together to Food & Wine Magazine's Best New Chefs Class of 2023. And Val was nominated as a 2024 James Beard Awards semifinalist for Maty's in the Best Chef: South category. Val participated in SOBEWFF 2024 (South Beach Wine & Food Festival) presented by Capital One, which took place February 22-25, 2024 in Miami, Fl., hosting a wonderful collaboration dinner at Maty's with Chabela Coss and Ana Castro, which Shari attended. Cars from the 1950's and 60's that you've probably never heard of. Do you think you know about classic cars? What about rare cars? Some car buffs might recognize the brands Frazier or Devin but mention "Grantham" and they might think you are talking about Downton Abbey. What about Allied, Glasspar, Ferber, LaDawri or Voodoo? We speak with Geoff Hacker and Mike Puma of Undiscovered Classics about their passion for limited production vehicles from the 1950's and 60's. We find out about sports cars, streamliners, RV's and even race car transporters that were conceived and built by individuals and small companies with bodies typically made from fiberglass. Join us to learn about our guests and their passion for finding, researching and restoring these sometimes one-of-a-kind gems. You'll find out the history of these cars, what they do to restore and then display them at internationally recognized events such as Pebble Beach or Amelia Island. We are live from Giants camp today with Boomer and Gio on the mics. But first, we talked about the problems in the Mets locker room. Boomer said that lies at the feet of the Manager, Buck SHOWALTER. Is he holding the players accountable? Maybe Buck has to go. What type of team are we going to get from the Mets next year? Boomer compares Brian Daboll to Buck SHOWALTER throughout the discussion. Maybe this is why SHOWALTER has never won. Gio said the franchise is ‘just rotten'. Gio said Steve Cohen's ownership has been ‘a nightmare'. An anonymous Met player went to Mike Puma to tell him Justin VERLANDER was a diva in the locker room.
Hour 1: We are live from Giants camp today with Boomer and Gio on the mics. But first, we talked about the problems in the Mets locker room. Gio said Steve Cohen's ownership has been ‘a nightmare'. An anonymous Met player went to Mike Puma to tell him Justin VERLANDER was a diva in the locker room. C-Lo is in for Jerry today and starts with the Yankees loss yesterday. They had a 7-1 lead over the Marlins and lost 8-7 as the Marlins scored 5 runs in the ninth. Clay Holmes talked about his meltdown. The Yankees have been wasting GERRIT Cole's starts. The Yankees pitching has been a mess. Gio said the Yankees are dead and there is no point to discuss the details. The Mets actually beat the Braves yesterday and Buck reacted to that. We somehow got on the topic of Phil Mickelson's gambling problem. The Giants lost to the Lions and Brian Daboll gave an intimidating look after giving up a huge punt return. In the final segment of the update, Gio tells us how his vacation started last week. It involved the fire department and an ambulance. Gio also walked home from a restaurant after his kids were crying.

In the final segment of the update, Gio tells us how his vacation started last week. It involved the fire department and an ambulance. Gio also walked home from a restaurant after his kids were crying. Hour 2: We are live from NY Giants camp this morning. Aaron Rodgers seemed frustrated with the offensive line and we expect to see that this week on Hard Knocks. Zach Wilson didn't do anything great and didn't do anything stupid against the Panthers. In watching Hard Knocks, Gio said the presence of Rob Saleh does not seem like the Head Coach of a Super Bowl team. If the Jets win, nobody will be talking about Saleh. Can Saleh really criticize Aaron Rodgers? C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the Yankees losing to the Marlins 8-7. They went into the ninth with a 7-2 lead. There are giant bugs here at Giants camp. We are in the swamps of Jersey after all. What happens if the Yankees don't make the playoffs? Is Aaron Boone gone? The SIXERS pulled James Harden off the trade market but he doesn't want to be there. He is on a speaking tour in China where he called Daryl Morey a liar and said he will never be a part of his organization. In the final segment of the hour, Giants TE Darren Waller joins us. We talked about playing for hard ass coaches, getting married during the football season, and why he decided to move to Weehawken. Hour 3: We are live from Giants camp today. Daniel Jones will join us this hour. It's amazing how far he has come from when we were here last year. Jones has been through multiple head coaches and coordinators in his short time with the Giants. He has improved each year and Boomer is looking for him to throw for over 4,000 yards this season. We also talked about SAQUON Barkley's season and his contract issues in the offseason. In the second segment of the hour, Daniel Jones joined us to talk about throwing less picks this season and if Eli Manning is a pain in the ass. He also said no to the Netflix series, ‘Quarterback' and talked about his contract's impact on SAQUON Barkley. Then Brian Daboll jumped on and Gio asked him about passing gas in the elevator and Coach wonders what's up with Gio's midlife crisis haircut. In the final segment of the hour, it's ‘Headlines with C-Lo'. Hour 4: We are live from Giants camp. The Super Bowl is in Las Vegas this year and we will be there live all week leading up to it. CBS is giving their employees a Super Bowl gift. You can choose from rolling luggage, custom bomber jacket, computer backpack or packing cube set. Al went with the luggage, Gio went with the jacket and Boomer is going with the jacket as well. Gio saw Mike FRANCESA ‘in the wild' at a golf course. Gio watched the Johnny Manziel documentary on Netflix. Boomer said it was too much money, too much fame too soon. C-Lo returns for his final update of the morning and starts with a horrible loss by the Yankees last night. The Marlins scored 5 runs in the ninth to win 8-7. Clay Holmes talked about his meltdown in the ninth. GERRIT Cole pitched well but the bullpen blew it. The Mets actually won a game yesterday. An unnamed Mets player said Justin VERLANDER was a ‘diva'. The Jets beat the Panthers and Robert Saleh talked about the Jets defensive performance. James Harden was on a speaking tour in China and ripped into SIXERS owner Daryl Morey. In the final segment of the show, Gio wonders who's the most famous Italian of all time.
Lori is joined by Mike Puma, New York Mets beat reporter for the New York Post, to talk about all things Mets and what the current state of the locker room is after a disappointing season.

Lori is joined by Mike Puma of the NY Post to break down what the Mets should do as the trade deadline nears.
Jerry is in for Boomer again today and we talked about tomorrow's live show down the Jersey Shore at D'Jais starting at 5am for the Kickoff to Summer. Gio is trying not to be so down on the Mets. Gio is not a fan of Marcus Stroman and thinks he's a jerk, so it pissed him off that he pitched well against the Mets. Francisco Alvarez hit a HR last night even though there are rumors he's being sent down. Buck Showalter seems to love Tomas Nido. The Mets are simply not a very good team. The biggest concern for the Yankees right now is the AL East has a bunch of really good teams. If the Mets don't compete for a World Series with Steve Cohen and throw money at every problem, then they are a joke. It will be like the Nets with KD and Kyrie doing nothing. Jerry's not even sure if they are a playoff team right now. C-Lo is in for Jerry and starts with the Yankees losing to the Orioles thanks to giving up 8 runs in the seventh. The Mets lost to the Cubs with Kodai Senga on the mound. Francisco Alvarez hit a HR and had 2 of the 4 Mets hits. Marcus Stroman was very demonstrative last night. The Panthers completed the sweep of the Hurricanes and are headed to the Stanley Cup Finals. In the final segment of the hour, an anonymous Mets player said of Stroman, ‘show some respect'. Did Mike Puma just overhear this in the locker room, or did a player tell him that? The Mets hitters had no answers for Stroman. We talked about money not being able to buy World Series championships. Memorial Day Weekend is a good time to take stock in the baseball season. Is it too early to take stock? We are 50 games in but this isn't the finished product because moves can still be made. If the Mets are around .500, would you make a move to get Shohei Ohtani? Gio would only do it if he had a guarantee Ohtani would be there multiple years. We also wondered where all the toll money goes and where all the sports betting money goes. C-Lo returns for an update and does a play by play montage to see if Gio & Jerry can tell the difference between the new, young, play by play guys in baseball. The Mets lost to Marcus Stroman and the Cubs. Jerry said Stroman was celebrating like Elvis. Buck Showalter talked about the things Stroman did to shut them down. The Yankees were up 5-1 on the Orioles and then things fell apart in the seventh inning. The Orioles scored 8 in the seventh and won the game. Nestor Cortes talked about what went wrong. Patrick Mahomes said he's more about legacy and rings than money right now. In the final segment of the hour, Gio is going to Vegas to check out Circa hotel. What would Jerry do first thing upon landing in Vegas? A brawl between Yankees fans after the game has emerged on social media. Jerry talks about his love for paying for YouTube premium which is commercial free. Oh, and HBO Max is now just Max. Tina Turner died yesterday at the age of 83. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with sound from Aaron Rodgers on the Adam Schein Show. Rodgers never saw the Sopranos. Gio did many impressions of Schein. Lamar Jackson talked about more throwing and less running in the new Ravens offense. The Panthers swept the Hurricanes to reach the Stanley Cup Finals. In the final segment of the hour, Kyrie Irving wants people to stop paying attention to sports guys on TV who mix sports and politics. Gio is surprised Kyrie pays so much attention to people talking about him. Police did a welfare check on Ja Morant after he posted ‘bye' on social media and messages to his mom and dad which made it seem like he might harm himself. It looks like the Orioles are a team that's for real this season. The Mets went from a 5 game winning streak to dropping 2 straight to the Cubs, including last night to our enemy, Marcus Stroman. The Cubs are another terrible baseball team the Mets should be beating. There is also no way the Mets can send down Francisco Alvarez. C-Lo returns for an update but first we talked about Gio's diet and how it will survive the Summer eating season. The Yankees lost to the Orioles thanks to an 8 run seventh inning. A caller claims Gio is using Ozempic for weight loss and that really burns him up. Charles Barkley still thinks the Celtics are going to beat the Heat. In the final segment of the show, it seems very windy in Belmar where we're going to be broadcasting from tomorrow. A few Rutgers basketball players will be showing up. Gio said he hasn't had a piece of pizza since

Lori chats with Mike Puma of the New York Post about the strange weekend in DC against the Nationals the Mets were involved with. They also talk about the odds of a few of their minor leaguers coming up and making an impact with the big club.
Hour 2: Gio is excited to see Francisco Alvarez as he is being called up for today's home opener for the Mets. Tomas Nido will start today according to Mike Puma. We also talked about the Mets bullpen with Edwin Diaz injured. Boomer is starting to think about the Devils and which players' jerseys he'll be stuffing in the freezer. Gio's outfit for tonight never arrived so he has to go shopping after the show. Jerry returns for an update but first Boomer talked about the NCAA Frozen Four. Something to do with hockey. The Padres have a pitcher with a new pitch called, ‘the slutter'. Jerry went around the NBA last night and we heard from Kevin Durant about their defense. Charles Barkley talked about the small soaps in hotels and how one almost slid into his butt. Boomer & Gio still look pretty good in their Masters pool. In the final segment of the hour, Paul the engineer comes in to glue a broken bobblehead.
Hour 1: Tonight is our live show in Jersey City. Gio will be debuting a new haircut. He's wearing a hat on TV today to save it for tonight. The Mets are ‘limping into opening day' according to Boomer. There doesn't seem to be any buzz to the Mets home opener. The Mets have an advertising patch on their sleeve and it is absolutely huge. Boomer wonders if the Yankees will eventually get a sponsor on the jersey. There was also a rules controversy at the Masters with Brooks Koepka's caddy. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first Boomer told us that Sal Licata made a donation to Team Boompa for the Five Borough Bike Tour. Pete Alonso talked about the home opener and Jerry had audio from the Braves who have won 6-of-7 to start the season. Jerry also went around the NBA from last night and gave us an update on day one of the Masters. In the final segment of the hour, a minor league pitcher who gave up a HR to Fernando Tatis Jr. tweeted that a cheater on a rehab assignment for a steroid violating homered. Boomer said you rarely hear of an NHL player getting into any type of social media trouble. Sean Avery gets into trouble on social media but that wasn't really a thing when he was playing. Boomer talked about how difficult it is to drive down the streets of NY with deliveries and restaurant tables still in the streets. In the final segment of the hour, Paul the engineer comes in to glue a broken bobblehead. Hour 3: Ron Darling from SNY joins us to talk about the Mets home opener, what's the problem with Max Scherzer and whether Keith Hernandez ever picks up a tab. Jerry returns for an update and starts with a ‘what the hell is that?' It's Boomer laughing, and it sounds like an NHL goal horn. Buck Showalter talked about the Mets home opener and how this will get them into a routine since they've been on the road. The Giants beat the White Sox 16-6. Michael Conforto and JD Davis had homers. Jerry has an update of day one at the Masters. In the final segment of the hour, Cam Newton put out a list of QBs he'd be willing to back up this year. Maybe Aaron Rodgers will sign with the Jets today and he'll pop over to our live show in Jersey City. Boomer went through a list of QB salaries. Hour 4: Gio ordered an outfit for the live show tonight but it never arrived. Boomer said he will stop by ‘LeatherMan' in NYC today to find him something to wear. Boomer said Gio just wants Boomer to curse a lot tonight but Boomer said that's not his style. We previewed all the things we are doing at the live show tonight. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about Fresca, which Boomer still loves. Pete Alonso is looking forward to playing at Citi Field as they've been on the road so far this season. Kay Adams had some problems opening a bottle of champagne and she got sprayed in the face. Jerry has audio from the Rangers loss to the St. Louis Blues. In the final segment of the hour, Dan in Carteret does not have tickets for tonight's live show. Boomer may end up having to put Hurricanes jerseys in the freezer as it could wind up as the Devils vs Islanders.
