We had a great time talking with Lauren about music as the constant in her life, wearing every single hat as a working musician, and females with huge voices who don't hold back (likeLauren!). We also geek out over arts and crafts! This soulful rocker, originally from Chicago, has had a passion for singing throughout her entirelife. Growing up in a household that was rich in music, her influences were widely varied from artists such as Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt, The Pointer Sisters, Eva Cassidy, Etta James, Joss Stone, Kelly Clarkson, and many more. Despite these modern musical influences, Lauren was classically trained throughout most of her early life. She began classical piano lessons at the age of 8, was an active member of several choirs and began taking classical voice lessons when she began high school. She eventually took her love of singing to the Quad Cities and obtained a Bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on voice at Augustana College. During her college years she spent a summer living inNovafeltria, Italy, learning the language and touring and studying opera. Initially she planned on becoming an opera singer, but quickly realized that rock and soul music were more her style. Since moving to Nashville, Lauren has continued to tour and release new music. Her album, “Love on the Rocks” that was released in the summer of 2021 debuted at #14 on the BillboardBlues Chart, #4 on Roots Music Report & #21 on the NACC Blues Charts. Anderson has opened for bands such as Beth Hart, Ana Popovic and Mike Zito. Zito was also a featured artist on her sophomore album, on the tune "Back to Chicago". She just released her third full-length album, “Burn it all Down”, which features Albert Castiglia on the track “Zombie Blues” and JohnSalaway on “Hit The Spot.” Check her out here: Website: laurenandersonmusic.com IG: laurenandersonmusic FB: Lauren Anderson

Stone Senate has been called “a heavier version of Lynyrd Skynyrd, crossed with The Allman Brothers Band”. While being mentioned in such heady company is flattering, it is important to note Stone Senate is most definitely not a retro act. They are taking what came naturally from their collective influences a step further and making a name for themselves in the world of modern country rock. The band is fronted by vocalist/ guitarist Clint Woolsey's smoldering, soulful vocals and unmistakable stage presence. Meanwhile stage left and stage right are burning down with dual lead guitars/vocals of James Beau Edwards and Brother Ted Hennington. Add to that the bonded rhythm section of Kieran Cronley on bass and David “DZ” Zettler on drums/ vocals, and you have caught lightning in a bottle. Stone Senate has toured with Bulletboys, Uli Jon Roth, Davisson Brothers Band, and Tantric, and direct support for bands such as Styx, Collective Soul, Jackyl, Cowboy Mouth, Saliva, Little Texas, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Quiet Riot, Asleep at the Wheel, Lit, Alien Ant Farm, Tom Kiefer Band, Billy Gibbons and the BFG's, Tim Montana, Uncle Kracker, Rehab, David Alan Coe, Whitford – St Holmes, David Lee Murphy, Andy Ross, Mike Zito, John Micheal Montgomery, Eddie Montgomery, and Confederate Railroad to name a few. www.stonesenate.com Creator and Executive Producer Emeritus: Tom Sabella Showrunner and Host (the guy who has a face for podcasting): Bob Bender Management Representation: Chuck Thompson for Thompson Entertainment Group, LLC Co-Producer - Audio/Video Editor (the man behind the curtain): Mark Sabella Director of Video and Continuity (the brains of the entire operation): Deborah Halle Marketing and Social Media (all knowing): Sarah Fleshner for 362 Entertainment All Around Problem Solver (and Mental Health Therapist for us): Connie Ribas Recorded inside what could be an old beat up Airstream Trailer located somewhere on what's left of Music Row in Nashville TN (Man we sure do miss Noshville, and the Longhorn Steakhouse) Mixed and Mastered at Music Dog Studios in Nashville, TN Editing and Post at Midnight Express Studio located in Olian, NY Production Sound Design: Keith Stark Voice Over and Promo: Lisa Fuson Special Thanks to the creator and founder of the podcast, Tom Sabella, along with Traci Snow for producing and hosting over 100 episodes of the original "Business Side of Music" podcast and trusting us to carry on their legacy. Making his way to Chicago in the 1950's where he played in pop up basement juke joints with players like, Robert Nighthawk, Howlin' Wolf, Lil' Walter, Elmore James & many others. (You can only imagine what that scene was like!) The story goes on from there so, you will just have to listen to hear the rest of Luther's incredible life story. You will hear jokes & lots of playful laughter which was always in abundance when you were in Luther's company.Luther "Guitar Jr." Johnson, who hails from Itta Bena Mississippi (also the birthplace of B.B. This guitar was originally designed for & owned by, blues man, Mike Zito. It is an honor to have Luther play & to have signed this one of a kind instrument made by Mr. Michael Delaney in Texas, USA. @ValDelaneyGuitars We give our love & sincere thanks to the late Michael Shivvers of The Blues Roots Digital Archive, our dear friend, & fellow blues music documentarian who passed suddenly in 2020. He had 21 albums, appeared in countless music videos, made hundreds of recordings & appeared with John Lee Hooker, Big Walter Horton, Pinetop Perkins, Calvin Jones & Willie 'Big Eyes' Smith in the original 1980 Blues Brothers Movie. His passing on Christmas Day 2022 was a deep loss for us & the blues community. His life & legacy are treasures & his presence on this Earth was a gift to all. He leaves behind his memory & music which will be cherished forever. We give our love & sincere thanks to the late Michael Shivvers of The Blues Roots Digital Archive, our dear friend, & fellow blues music documentarian who passed suddenly in 2020. Mike & Luther traveled The United States together by car with their gear in tow from gig to gig promoting, 'Won't Be Back No More,' Luthers new acoustic album. Luther & Michael had recorded this final album together, at Luther's home in Wildwood, Florida. They both stayed with Audrey & Michael on this trip & it was an honor to host these two incredible, talented humans. @MichaelShivvers_BluesArchive You may notice that Luther is playing an electric custom guitar by Delaney Guitars. This guitar was originally designed for & owned by, blues man, Mike Zito. It is an honor to have Luther play & to have signed this one of a kind instrument made by Mr. Michael Delaney in Texas, USA. @ValDelaneyGuitars @MikeZitoOfficial Your Host: Jesse FinkelsteinAudio mix-down & video production by Audrey Michelle for BRIVideography & audio recording by Audrey Michelle & Michael Wolf @audreymichelle6436 & @datflys #LutherGuitarJuniorJohnson #LutherGuitarJrJohnson #bluesradiointernational #datflysconcertvideos #datflys #GuitarJr #GuitarJunior #bluesradiointernational #bluesmusic #chicagoblues #blues #delaneyguitars #bluesbrothers #mikezito #audreymichelle #jessefinkelsteinFind more at BluesRadioInternational.net/radio-show

GUY HALE chats to Paul Burke about his new novel Blood on the Tracks, character Jimmy Wayne, The Come Back Trail sextet, humour, Basil Exposition and Shakespeare. BLOOD ON THE TRACKS Jimmy Wayne is headed for LA to make the new album that will hopefully make him a star. In a quiet, deserted canyon a few miles outside Blackjack lie the bodies of his victims who inspired each song – all his secrets are buried in that dry and arid ground. Can he leave his past behind or will the ghosts of his past come back to haunt him?First in the Come Back Trail Series:KILLING ME SOFTLY In the town of Blackjack, Nevada, washed-up singer Jimmy Wayne is down on his luck, playing covers to a limited and uninterested audience in a third-rate casino. One morning he awakens to find that everything has changed. Not only has he accidentally murdered Wendy, his girlfriend, but he's also written the best song he's ever produced. Is it the act of killing that helps him create his finest work? And if it is, should he go for a full album? Wrestling for his desire for success, his grasp of morality and haunted by his past mistakes, Jimmy starts searching for the most terrible people he has ever known.GUY HALE is based in England and is branching out from an adventurous background in the music industry. He has two transatlantic recording labels under his belt along side song writing credits for prominent blues musicians such as Kid Anderson, Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia. Most would stop there but not Guy. During the global pandemic Guy began his journey in fiction writing with a novel steeped in inspiration from his adventures on the road in America. Now working exclusively with Hillside Global Ltd and Whitefox Publishing Ltd on a set of novels titled “The Comeback Trail”. Blood on the Tracks follows “Killing Me Softly”...Hillside Global/Guy Hale RecommendationsMusic:John Blues Boyd - What My Eyes Have Seen Mike Zito Blues For The Southside ResurrectionBooks:Minnie Driver Managing Expectations Gore Vidal Essays and FictionImran Mahmood All I Said was TrueVictoria Selman Truly Darkly Deeply Vaseem Khan The Lost Man of BombayProduced by Junkyard DogMusic courtesy of Southgate and LeighCrime TimePaul Burke writes for Crime Time, Crime Fiction Lover and the European Literature Network. While Alex is out on the road with Testament on the Bay Strikes Back Tour, we thought we'd take you on a journey back to the early days of Moods & Modes. This week, we're featuring Episode 3: Peter Green, Remembered and Rediscovered. A deep dive into the life and music of Peter Allen Greenbaum, better known as Peter Green, who passed away on July 25, 2020. Although best known for co-founding the first version of Fleetwood Mac, there is so much more to uncover. This episode features a roundtable of experts on the gentle genius of guitar known as “Greenie,” plus a few surprises. Alex is joined by Mike Zito, Dave Rubin, Andy Aledort; and, via shared podcast: Dean Delray & Kirk Hammett.Peter Green was a British blues rock guitarist and composer. As the founder of Fleetwood Mac, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Green founded Fleetwood Mac in 1967 after a stint in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and quickly established the new band as a popular live act in addition to a successful recording act, before departing in 1970. Green's songs, such as “Albatross”, “Black Magic Woman”, “Oh Well”, “The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)” and “Man of the World”, appeared on singles charts, and have been adapted by a variety of musicians. Green was a major figure in the “second great epoch” of the British blues movement. Eric Clapton praised his guitar playing, and B.B. King commented, “He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats.” His trademark sound included string bending, vibrato, and economy of style. In 2015, Rolling Stone ranked him at number 58 in its list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”. Stay tuned next week's Best Of episode Peter Green, Part 2.Moods & Modes is presented by Osiris Media. Hosted and Produced by Alex Skolnick. Osiris Production by Kirsten Cluthe and Matt Dwyer.
