We're here in San Diego for the Red Bull BC One National Finals, catching up with Bboy Victor before he hits the stage!   In this pre-battle interview, Victor talks about his Olympic journey, the people who have supported him along the way, getting himself back into battle mode, his mindset going into the competition, and much more. After everything he's experienced in breaking, it was great to sit down and hear where Victor's head is at before stepping onto the stage.  

Twenty-year-old Josiah Pippel of Moorestown, N.J., was crowned the winner tonight of "American Ninja Warrior," taking home the Season 18 title and the $250,000 grand prize. Additionally, NBC has greenlit the hit summer competition series for an additional two seasons. Seasons 19 will see the return of the iconic Mt. Midoriyama and Season 20 will celebrate the sport's inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games with a special Summer of Champions, featuring several former Olympians and elite ninja champions from more than 15 countries around the world. To win Season 18, Pippel battled through the Qualifiers, Regionals, and National Finals, outperforming more than 200 of the country's best ninjas on a series of high-stakes obstacle courses designed to test speed, strength and endurance. The season also introduced the Tripleheader, an all-new supersized three-lane racecourse that raised the stakes with thrilling head-to-head-to-head races.  First appearing on “American Ninja Warrior” at 15 years old, Pippel has competed in six consecutive seasons without ever missing the National Finals. Motivated by a disappointing early exit in the Season 17 Finals, he returned for Season 18 with a renewed focus on speed and precision. His title-winning journey started with a first-place finish in his Qualifying round and a successful climb up the Mega Wall. After dominating the Regional rounds and securing the #2 seed in the Final Round of 32, Pippel began an impressive championship run, winning five straight head-to-head races to claim the title. Along the way, he defeated a formidable lineup of veteran competitors, including Donovan Metoyer, Matt D'Amico, Enzo Wilson, Nacssa Garemore, and defending champion Kai Beckstrand.  This season, the top four female competitors earned the opportunity to compete in a bonus tournament for a $50,000 prize and title of ANW Season 18 Women's Champion. The following year he co-hosted the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest for which he trained for in Germany. Besides of that he speaks fluently German. Eldar was part of the OGAE Germany's Convention 2026 in January in Munich, Germany. JP and Salman had the pleasure to chat with Eldar about his Eurovision adventure and about his career. Part of Satoshi's performance was also previous Eurovision entrant Aliona Moon who in 2013 reached Number 11 with the song "O Mie". The Radio International Interview Team met Satoshi at the Turquoise Carpet of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna for a quick chat which you can hear on the show this week.      Silke (Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix 2026) at MelFstWknd 2026 Interview with Silke (Norsk MGP 2026): As part of the Melodifestivalen Grand Final Weekend 2026 in Stockholm, Sweden, the Swedish Eurovision Fanclub organise the annual MelFstWknd with a number of Swedish and international Eurovision artists performing for the many fans that have arrived the the Swedish capital. This year Silke was one of the international acts who was invited to perform her entry she competed with in Norway's National Final the Norsk Melodi Grand Prixin the  Number 9 at MelFstWknd 2026     AleXa  (Winner of the American Song Contest 2022 for Oklahoma  and participant at Melodifestivalen 2026 at MelFstWknd     Interview with AleXa (Melodifestivalen 2026, Heat 5 & Winner of the American Song Contest 2022 - Oklahoma):  Also at the MelFstWknd 2026 was AleAa who competed in Melodifestivalen 2026 in Heat 5 with the song "Tongue Tied" and she won the American Song Contest 2022 with the song "Wonderland" represeting the US State Oklahoma. Austria was represented by a young Zoe who performed the song "Loin d'ici" which came 13th in the Grand Final after the Voting Sequence. Ten years later OGAE Germany invited Zoe to the annual convention where she performed a concert and of course chatted about her time at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The Radio International Interview Team were on location to conduct an interview Zoe and this will be broadcast on the show this week. Stefan first took part in the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2009 with the song "Shake up, Wake up". He is a five-time contestant in the Maltese selection for the Eurovision Song Contest: participating in 2016, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 respectively with his entries "Light Up My Life", "Heartbreaker", "Numb", "Lablab (Talk Talk)" and "Pose". He was also a contestant on the first season of X Factor Malta. Unfortunately, in 2026 he did not qualify for the Grand Final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest from the Semi Final with the song "Pose". The Radio International Interview Team were on location in Malta and conducted interviews with all the artists and this week listen to the interview with Stefan Galea.    Patrick Jean and Scarlet (Melodifestivalen, Sweden)  Interview with Scarlet and Patrick Jean (Melodifestivalen):  Also Scarlet as well as Patrick Jean were  part of LondonHagen 2026 performing their Melodifestivalen entries to an international audience. JP and Salman had the pleasure to meet and interview both ladies from Scarlet and Patrick Jean in London in the run-up to the show in the evening. Patrick Jean is not only a singer but also a successful songwriter in Sweden and is behind The Mama's Melodifestivalen Winner "Move". In the 2026 edition of Melodifestivalen Patrick entered with "Dusk till Dawn"  Scarlet have been participating in Sweden's Melodifestivalen twice. In 2024, Scarlet debuted at Melodifestivalen with the song "Circus X" which advanced from the Heat to Final Kval where it reached fourth place but only  the Top 2 advanced. The National Final of the Student Enterprise Programme took place recently with 88 students competing for the title of Student Enterprise of the Year. The programme itself is Ireland's largest student entrepreneurship initiative, with over 500,000 students having started businesses since 2003. To find out more I spoke to one of the finalists Seán FitzGerald, a fourth-year student who has created software Fleet Monitor, designed to predict the movements of ships attempting to avoid maritime sanctions across every ocean globally.I spoke Sean about his background, the  Student Enterprise Programme, what Fleet Monitor does, and more.More about Fleet Monitor:A standout in this year's programme, Fleet Monitor uses Automatic Identification System (AIS) data to track the position, heading, speed and size of vessels. The platform then cross checks this data in real time against official EU and Nato sanction lists to identify known or suspected shadow-fleet ships.

One hundred of Ireland's top teenage problem solvers gathered on Wednesday in Dublin City University (DCU) for the national final of the ADAPT All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO). The finalists represent 56 secondary schools from 20 counties across the whole island and are competing for the chance to represent Ireland at the International Linguistics Olympiad in Bucharest, Romania, this July. AILO is run by ADAPT, the Research Ireland Centre for AI-driven Digital Content Technology. The competition challenges students to apply logic and reasoning to decode unfamiliar languages by analysing the language data they are given to work out the 'rules' of the new language. These transferable skills are critical in preparing young people for a wide range of careers in computing, linguistics and language. Speaking about the event, Director of ADAPT, Professor John Kelleher said: "AILO is a showcase of the analytical ability, curiosity and capability of Ireland's young people. The students who have reached the final have demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills. The skills developed here are directly transferable to the real world, and we hope they will give them a love of computing and data-driven research. We are very proud to host the final at DCU and to support an all-island initiative that opens up these futures to students from every background." Today's finalists progressed through a preliminary round, involving nearly 1,000 competitors, held in schools earlier this year. Competing in individual and team rounds, they will vie for the honour to be one of the four winners who will represent Ireland on the international stage in Bucharest this summer. The results of the AILO final will be released in mid-March. Eurovision Host 2025 Hazel Brugger and Germany's regular National Final Host Barbara Schoeneberger will be presenting the acts from a studio in Berlin with a live audience. The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will be hosted by Keane Cutajar, Destiny Chukunyere (who won Junior Eurovision 2015 and represented Malta in Eurovision 2021) and Gaia Cauchi (who won Junior Eurovision 2013). The Semi Final with 18 artists takes place on Thursday, 15 Jan 2026 followed by the Grand Final on Saturday, 17 Jan 2026 from MFCC (Malta Fairs and Convention Centre). This week Radio International will showcase all the artists and songs of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 as well as look back at all the Maltese entries from 1971 to 2025.     The Eurovision Spotlight - The Eurovision National Final Season:  The New Eurovision Year 2026 has started and with that also the National Final Season for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is in full swing with countries selecting their entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. JJ won Eurovision 2025 and with that Austria will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in the Wiener Stadthalle on 12 and 14 May 2026 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Finale to take place on Saturday, 16 May 2026. Until the end of March 2026 the National Final Season for Eurovision 2026 is on and Radio International's team members will be highlighting the best picks of the national finals.
