Send us a textWelcome back to this week's episode of The Fixate & Binge Podcast! In this episode, I offer my defense of why binging is sometimes the BEST way to experience a show and there is no better opportunity than now to fully enjoy HBO MAX's runaway medical drama hit -- THE PITT starring ER's Noah Wylie.Trust me -- there is simply no better way to fully immerse yourself in one of the finest shows of 2025 than to binge it all in as little time as possible, and right now all episodes are available!I also share my reasons why not all remakes of beloved films are negative -- and profess my nearly 20-years love of my favorite band from Glasgow, Scotland, Mogwai, with their new documentary -- MOGWAI: IF THE STARS HAD A SOUND which is highly recommended to anyone who loves post-rock, instrumental music.Thank you for listening! Cal decides to abandon his family on his son's 3rd birthday. He starts traveling. Sound good? Does this sound like a movie you want to watch? It sounds great, right? This is Bart Freundlich's follow-up to the '96 "The Myth of Fingerprints", which, if you are old, maybe you remember that being an indie movie that was kinda whatever, but did have Noah Wylie in it. Billy Crudup plays Cal, Julianne Moore is Dulcie, and James Le Gros has the dumbest hair you've ever seen. Christmas in the ER round two! Melissa’s obsession with romance novels continues, Shep and Carol wake up in her house which is NOT up to code, it’s Christmas at County general and the warm fuzzy vibes are lacking a bit when the O’Brien case continues and Mark runs into Mr. O’Brien before the deposition while also struggling with his divorce. We obsess over Noah Wylie’s physical comedy, Carter and Benton are up to their usual antics, and we meet a woman whose granddaughter was accidentally kidnapped when her car was stolen. This woman also happens to be Jewish and shares a lovely moment with Mark who we learn has Jewish heritage. Carol takes care of a patient who bears a striking resemblance to Santa and Shep tells Carol he loves her after like, a week of dating. Of course we’re up to our usual banter and tangents! There is an awesome movie that details the personal computer revolution, The Pirates of Silicon Valley. If you ever wondered what might have been happening between Apple and Microsoft, great cast and a really good representation of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. In the movie Anthony Michael Hall who plays BillG is having a discussion with Noah Wylie who plays Steve Jobs, where he talks about Xerox and how both companies took tech/ideas from Xerox and used them in their hardware and software. Well Intellivision, in my humble opinion, is the Xerox of video game consoles.
From 2015, I also preview Falling Skies with comments from Wil Patton and Noah Wylie from my season four special. Plus from its sister series, The Last Ship is Charles Parnell who is CMC Jeter on the series as we look at TNT's summer genre line-up. See the full episode here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mjVJQG6MDo The Kansas City Chiefs have a bit more reason to look at Logan Ryan. Kelechi Osemele will play on the left. Noah Wylie should be the right guard. Matt Moore should be Patrick Mahomes backup over Chad Henne. Could cap space go to Travis Kelce? (Yes!!) Support RGR & more Content
