In this episode of the Chuck ToddCast, Chuck examines Donald Trump’s holiday Truth Social spree as a revealing window into his worldview and leadership style. From angry, vaguely threatening posts tied to Epstein to Christmas messages laced with grievance and insults, Trump’s online behavior paints a picture of a lonely, aggrieved figure who often sounds less like a head of state and more like a mob boss issuing warnings. Chuck unpacks how Trump’s rhetoric on immigration, religion, and military force—sometimes delivered in the same breath as holiday greetings—reflects a transactional “Trump Doctrine” where identity and loyalty justify power, and sovereignty becomes negotiable. The conversation then widens to the global consequences of this approach. Chuck argues that Trump’s selective isolationism and deal-making have badly damaged America’s reputation, eroded trust with Europe, and risk pushing allies toward China in search of stability. By prioritizing short-term wins and performative toughness over alliances and norms, Trump may be trading momentary leverage for long-term strategic loss—reshaping the global order in ways that could haunt the United States for a generation. Then, Yaron Weitzman, author of “A Hollywood Ending: The Dreams and Drama of the LeBron Lakers”, joins Chuck to unpack the remarkable rise, impact, and legacy of LeBron James—on the court, in Los Angeles, and far beyond basketball. Drawing from his reporting and authorship, Weitzman explains how access-driven sports journalism shapes the stories we’re told, why LeBron was always more than just another superstar chasing rings, and how the Lakers–LeBron partnership became a mutually saving force for two global institutions. The conversation traces LeBron’s path from Miami to Cleveland to Los Angeles, the myths around his ambition and loyalty, and how “The Decision” reshaped the power dynamics between players and franchises. The episode also looks ahead to LeBron’s next chapter: his eventual role as an owner, the possibility of a farewell tour, how Bronny factors into his decisions, and what a post-LeBron Lakers era might look like. Weitzman and Todd explore LeBron’s business instincts, cultural influence, complicated relationship with fans and social media, and why—despite universal respect—he’s never been universally beloved. In the end, they ask the defining question of any icon: how history will remember LeBron James, and who gets to tell that story. Finally, Chuck hops into the ToddCast Time Machine to the date Ellis Island closed its doors for immigrant processing and traces the messy history of immigration policy in the United States. He also answers listeners’ question in the “Ask Chuck” segment and does a roundup from the world of sports. Get your wardrobe sorted and your gift list handled with Quince. Don't wait! It's a historic day at Blocked Party, as we do a Stefan block on a main episode and Mark Little (comedian) sets the record for the fastest return by a guest, coming back only 8 episodes after Appearance #1. Why? Well, our scheduled guest came down with the stomach flu a few hours before recording. Then, John came down with a migraine. With John knowing he barely had an hour before his body gave in, we switched Mark from bonus episode duty to regular episode duty, and John ended up with his "flu game", leaving the pod several times throughout but returning just in time to do an Andrew Dice Clay impression and according to Mark, reveal a more "cool, chill" version of himself. Of course, with John out of the picture, Stefan immediately introduces Mark to Rule 34 and Dewayne, and tries to figure out how he managed to get blocked by the NORAD Santa Tracker. Elsewhere, Producer Dan wears a dress shirt, Stefan reveals he can't read, Elon makes a new and bizarre rule for Twitter, and we wax poetic about the World Cup and 90s reboots. If you want to be a part of more history, you can head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every month, plus a truly insane back catalogue totalling over 100 episodes. You get it all! 5 bucks! What a deal! Last week, we released the VOD of our live call-in show from November, and Chris James joined us to talk about "...And Just Like That". Plus we've got merch discounts, a discord, ad-free episodes, and more, so be a part of history! Hear the entire story and see behind the scenes video as Jared shares with John Di Lemme on the CBJ Real News Podcast Show what really happened when he said the popular phrase to old Joe. ✔ Want More *Real News* go to... http://www.ConservativeBusinessJournal.com/updateme ✔ Get the *FREE Conservative Business Journal Podcast APP* Now, Go to… https://www.conservativebusinessjournal.com/apps/ ✔ The #1 Secret on How to CANCEL the Cancel Culture is to support Conservative Business Owners and Entrepreneurs by going to http://www.ConservativeMarketplace.com Thank you for the Support! Merry Christmas Folks! Welcome to a Christmas Eve edition of Hightailing Through History. We're feeling festive so spike that eggnog, grind the herb or grab yourself a cozy hot chocolate and spend some time with the sisters as we celebrate Christmas Eve festivities! Starting with a beloved Christmas Eve tradition, Laurel tells us about the not-quite-so-sweet origins of the Santa Tracker, which has been going strong for over 65 years! Afterwards, KT shares the very old story of the Christian bishop who would later become Santa Claus. KT takes us through his origins as well as his evolution over the years and throughout different cultures. In 2020 we released a bonus episode describing the Canadian and American forces of NORAD, or the North American Aerospace Defense Command, who continuously monitor the airspace of our two countries--and indeed most of the world--to ensure threats to our nations are identified and managed. But not everything that enters our airspace is a "threat." Every year, NORAD ensures the safe and unhindered passage of jolly ol' St. Nick and his precious cargo of Christmas cheer to all the North American children on his 'nice list.'Enjoy this replay of how Santa Claus is detected, tracked, and even escorted on the NORAD Santa Tracker website.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-fighter-pilot-podcast/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands
Welcome to Tuesday… Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas Eve from Joe Mathieu and the WGBH Early Edition team. Yesterday proved to be challenging if you were out trying to shop or get anywhere in the mad rush of traffic. Perfect time to announce that Boston is among the rudest cities in the country, yet we somehow lost out on the top title to Washington DC. The NORAD Santa tracker is officially up and running here on Christmas Eve. And the newest Celtics phenom, a large man named Tacko, brought the house down at Symphony Hall last night. Stay safe out there and enjoy the spirit of the season everyone!

Canadian Army Maj. Andrew Hennessy reveals some of NORAD Santa's secrets as a team of military defense specialists work behind the scene to help track the merry-making wanderer’s global journey.
This episode originally aired in December 2017. That said, it’ll still do a fine job distracting you at work this week in 2018. Enjoy! Here’s the original write-up: “You cannot sing ‘parum pum pum pum’ and make it sound sexy and soulful. It just sounds stupid.” It’s the holiday season, so we thought we’d dig into the world of TBTL and Christmas (fear not, non-Christians – you’re welcome, too!). Christy and Ann are ready to share their thoughts on everything from loud ringing bells to NORAD’s Santa Watch. Luke’s obsession with Christmas music leads us into a long discussion of our own likes and dislikes. Jen is once again proven to be our spirit animal. The story of Luke’s first adult Christmas makes us feel warm and fuzzy. Ann spreads a family story that we’re sure her brother will appreciate. Plus, nativity shenanigans, problematic cookie exchanges, and two wonderful traditions in the Wise family. And we discover a shocking fact about Zac Efron that makes us feel better about our impending mortality. P.S. Sorry this show is so long, but it’s mostly because we put a massive bonus clip at the end that we couldn’t bear to leave out. Also, we talked a lot. This show contains clips from the following TBTL episodes: 11/24/2008 (holiday music); 12/09/2010 (Jen Andrews, Salvation Army Bell, Paul McCartney, Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time, Cate Blanchett, face cream); 12/06/2012 (Luke’s first radio show, NORAD Santa watch); 12/16/2013 (Luke’s childhood, Christmas tree, Ariel tree topper).
