Embark with us on a profound journey of self-discovery and spiritual enlightenment as we merge the mysticism of Mahasivaratri with the guiding light of Guru Ayya Narayana. My own pilgrimage to Arunachala, fraught with karmic battles and the pursuit of inner peace, serves as the backdrop to our enlightening conversation. We uncover the layers of sacred rituals, the significance of the chant Aum Namah Sivaya, and how the simple act of circling a tree can unravel lifetimes of karma. The twists and turns of my quest culminate in a heart-to-heart with Guru Ayya, whose teachings on presence and the path of the Siddha offer a beacon to fellow travelers seeking solace and union with the divine. Ayya's touch sparked a transformation, igniting the seven elements vital for our ascension towards the divine. In the midst of our spiritual sojourn, we delve into the resonating vibrations of a unique energy healing meditation. Guiding you through the chakras with the warmth of the sun and the power of breath, we tap into the roots of our being and rise to the crowning glories of consciousness. Along this vertical pilgrimage, mantras and mindfulness pave the way for reconciliation and gratitude. Embrace this meditative passage to cleanse the spirit, foster love, and illuminate the path to a higher vibrance of existence, preparing our minds and souls for the transformative energies of Mahashivaratri. As the moon governs the tides, it also symbolizes the clarity and leadership within us, an aspect we explore through the wisdom of Lord Muruga. By chanting sacred mantras and aligning with the celestial, we awaken the divine leadership within, ready to guide with love and joy. In this episode of Connected With Latham, partner Chris Schott and associate Danny Machado are joined by guest Lynn Robson of United Therapeutics. They discuss how the OIG's compliance framework is relevant to drug manufacturers, how past enforcement actions can inform implementation of a compliance program, and how an effective compliance program can be beneficial in the enforcement context. Becoming a Culture Catalyst Alex Sezer, Jr. It's been said about Real Estate, that “they don't make that stuff anymore.” So it is a limited amount. God does not create more land just because… amen! Many people have made their living in the trading of land for dollars…it's called “Real Estate” for a reason. You can REALLY create an Estate in this industry. The question many people have is: HOW? How can they start without a lot of money? How can they find the deals that will give them enough profit? How can they negotiate all of the legal hurdles to be successful? My guest today has been doing this since his early 20's! Praise God! Alex Sezer, Jr excelled at the Texas A&M college, both as a student leader and as an athlete on the football team! He was the Captain of the football team and graduated as magma cum laude in engineering… He became the President of not one, but two multi-million dollar real estate companies and scaled his personal portfolio to over 340 units – using $0 dollars out of pocket! Amen! Alex's focus is in organizational improvement and he does that by focusing on cultural transformation. He helps Christian business leaders go from Sunday morning inspiration to Monday morning implementation – by focusing on biblical principles to help create passionate, profitable and purpose-driven organizations. He does this by combining the Bible, business and management with a mission, profits with a purpose and a culture with Christ. Glory to God! First question I always start with is this… Other than that brief in formation I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Alex Sezer, Jr?” How and why did you make the transition from college football and a degree in engineering, to a career in real estate? You focus a lot on culture. I'm taking this to mean the culture of the business you are helping? You have a saying, “Show me your culture and I'll show you your future.” Can you explain that for us? What are the different areas of the culture are you looking at? I believe you call them “The Seven Elements of Culture?” Why are these important areas to evaluate? You also specialize in Biblical Leadership and translating that to business. You share about applying Jesus' leadership model. What is that and how do you accomplish this? We opened with a question of how you were able to create and grow your real estate holdings without using any of your personal finances. Is that even possible today, with the financial crises the way it is right now? Let's talk about your course you offer on your website. We pretty much covered the questions… but tell us what benefits someone will gain by investing in this course. Is this course only for big businesses or will ministries and entrepreneurs benefit as well? Alex, this all sounds amazing. How can someone obtain more information, ask a question or possibly sign up your course? Folks, from leading the football team to scaling multi-million dollar businesses, Alex Sezer has proven he knows what it takes to build winning teams. He is not just keeping this information for himself. He is answering his calling by...

“The voice is the muscle of the soul.” — Alfred Wolfsohn One of the first and most influential things you notice about someone is their voice and how they use it to express themselves: their accent, mannerisms, gestures, phrases, cadence, and tone. Our subconscious makes assumptions about these various pieces of information in seconds and whether we like it or not these assumptions tend to stick with us. You might be asking yourself, “Okay, but WHAT in the world does this have to do with branding, Tiffany?” Kind of everything, actually. If you're on a mission to create an authentic Legacy Brand that connects deeply and meaningfully with your audience, then you need a fantastic, reliable, totally unique-to-you brand voice! Now I'm sure you're thinking, “But, can't I just speak in my business the way I speak in real life?” Of course you can. All I want to do is help you further define your Brand Voice, which is all about finding that sweet spot between how you speak in your everyday life, and how you want to show up for your clients and audience. Developing a brand voice will never take away from your originality! In fact, it will only enhance it. And the truth is, you have a brand voice whether you're using it or not. So, why don't you start refining and using it so that you can truly stand out among the crowd? Top thought leaders and even the entertainers you admire have honed their own brand voice—and whether you are aware of it or not, that's the main reason why we love them. They've done the work to look inward to draw out their brand voice and use it consistently! And in today's episode of The Legacy Lounge Podcast, we are diving into how you can develop your brand voice too! Here's what I'm covering today—all within the span of 25 minutes: My tried and true 5 Steps to Define Your Brand Voice The actual definition of brand voice What it takes to create an outstanding brand voice. Why brand voice can help you stand out and save you time How brand voice can help you increase your sales and engagement The number one mistake entrepreneurs make when it comes to their brand voice, and how to avoid it! The important step that I insist everyone take when creating their Legacy Brand …and some controversial opinions from yours truly (don't worry they're all related to branding!) Get out your pen and paper—this is one where you're going to want to take notes—and tune in to learn about how to start defining (or refining) your brand voice now! And remember to tune in to the next episode where I will walk you through the Seven Elements of the Legacy Brand voice to help you truly fine tune your brand voice! Favorite quotes from this episode: “Simply put, your brand voice is the way your brand sounds.” — Tiffany Neuman “Your brand voice is much more important than your visual brand.” — TN “Just like a logo, your brand voice is a facet of your brand's unique personally. It helps your brand stand out rather than blend in.” — TN “Having a unique brand voice matters because it makes all of your communications memorable and recognizable to the audience that you serve.” — TN “Defining your brand voice is all about finding that sweet spot between how you speak and how you show up for your audience.” — TN “When it's done right, a brand voice has the power to tell you everything you need to know about a brand, quickly, and to make a lasting first impression.” — TN “Being a broken record is actually a good thing.” — TN “You have to have consistency in the way you communicate.” — TN “Having a brand voice is about using language to create a bridge between you and your audience. The point of a brand voice is not just to sell, but to inspire, motivate, and empower your audience to make decisions.” — TN “Don't force yourself to adopt phrases and tones of voice that don't feel right for you, especially if everyone else in your niche is using them.”—TN “If you're only speaking to one person, you're not really speaking to anyone.” — TN “Do market research. Negotiating while Black is exhausting and feels like an everyday burden that comes with a lot of bias as white professionals in general are seen and received differently when negotiating than black professionals. There's so much energy and attention that swirls around during a launch, and I cannot thank you enough for helping create the momentum that we did! I've talked a lot about launching with ease and joy, generating magic and serendipity, not muscling through book marketing. I've also talked about sprinting through the finish, and the overwhelm that comes from wanting to give a big creative project every last drop of energy to help it succeed.Today I'm sharing my strategy of sending the first 1,000 serendipity seeds out into the world. There are two weeks left for the Buy One, Get One, Give One promotion! Get (and give!) your copies before the end of April.
Were you brought up in a culture that emphasised your femininity? Perhaps you were told what an ideal woman/housewife/wife should look like and behave? And there were certain phrases that would be thrown around casually in a bid to "flaunt" femininity. Perhaps such phrases ring a bell....‘That's not what a proper lady should do / or say / or behave"!…' What if there was a way to unlearn everything you know about being feminine and add a new beautiful twist to how you perceive femininity? In this episode, Joanne Muturi interviews Giselle Lares. Giselle Lares is a Feminine Psyche Analyst and the Founder of SHESelf, a feminine empowerment academy transforming the way modern, ambitious women embrace their femininity. With years of research and experience in feminine psychology, mindset, home and lifestyle transformations, Giselle is on a mission to help women get ready for something new. Her feminine empowerment journey allows women to discover and revive the dormant sides to themselves that are holding them back from experiencing richness in their love and life aspirations, as well as their business and money goals. Giselle is on a mission to help women get ready for something new. Launching is stressful. Writing and launching a book is a privilege, so I hesitate to harp too much on how hard it can be. Whenever I feel stress climbing, I remind myself to find the joy and ease, to reconnect with gratitude for that exact stage of the process. That said, launches still have a way of snowballing stress. Today I'm breaking down seven reasons why, and five strategies for reducing the inevitable stress at the edge of a major - and majorly rewarding - challenge. Key Takeaways: Is your business ready to catch the interest that goes along with a launch? Invest in your systems and processes in advance so you are ready for the influx. Gamifying short term goals, like counting reviews and shares, can be fun - but if it adds to your stress, let go of them, and the outcomes they represent. Acknowledge and accept the stress you want to keep in your work. Some stress is worthwhile, so be intentional about what creates it and remember it is short term. ⭐️ Permission: Drop half of the ‘nice to haves' for whatever project you are currently stressing out about. And next month, do it again. ⭐️ Do (or Delegate) This Next: Book in your breaks. At least a week (and preferably 2) before and during your next big launch or project. Take even more time afterwards. You will never regret having that time set aside.

In Ephesians 1-3, Paul explained that God has given us great spiritual riches so that we can lead the world into peace. In the first part of Ephesians 4, Paul tells us Christians that the first way we can show the world how to live in peace is by living in peace with one other. This begins, as we learned in the last study, by looking to our own heart first and developing certain attitudes of the heart. In this study, we learn that as we seek to live in peace with other Christians, we should focus on seven key truths that all Christians have in common. When we focus on what we have in common rather than on on what divides us, we will begin to create peace in our midst.

What does it mean to have a clear marketing message? Why is a clear message so important for businesses? What is StoryBrand Framework ? What are some ways businesses can clarify their message? What are some common mistakes businesses make on their website? Why is email communication an important piece of a sales funnel? Holly answers the above questions and more as she asserts that businesses that clarify their message and build a sales funnel thrive in the marketplace. Holly Fisher is the Founder & CEO of Fisher Creative. Holly explains the StoryBrand framework that believes that even if you have the best product in the marketplace, you will lose to a competitor's inferior product if they communicate more clearly. For a business or organization to stand out in the noise, they have to be very clear in communicating what they have to offer.Businesses need to have a one-line message or story that they need to communicate to be relevant to their customers. Even if they have the best product in the marketplace, they will lose to a competitor's inferior product if the competitor communicates more clearly. Business needs to be the guide, the business is not the hero of the story. The role of the business is to solve a customer's problem, help them be successful, help the customer be the hero. So one mistake businesses make in their communication and on their website is talking too much about themselves. Once one has a clear brand story and a brand message it is really important to ensure that the message can can flow through everything else that a business is doing. The rest of that sales funnel is going to include what we call a one line story or the elevator pitch. The business needs a proven, repeatable plan for capturing leads and then converting those leads to customers. And then also part of that sales funnel is going to be some sort of lead generating tool or lead magnet. So a free PDF guide, a free video series ,or anything of value which can be provided to prospects in exchange for their email address. Email communication is a really important piece of the sales funnel. What does a leader of improvement do on the supervisory level? Does that new role overlap with such traditional supervisory duties as expedite and firefight? This week, as her series on Visual Leadership continues, Gwendolyn Galsworth (your host and visual expert) maps out the seven elements that define improvement leadership for supervisors and managers—and then explains how visuality is the glue that holds them all together. With “improve” as the anchor element, she walks through the other six: stabilize, measure, target, problem-solve, coach, and model. Then she shares a simple way for supervisors to self-diagnose and put those skills into action, without over-reaching or making too sharp a turn away from their current duties. First understanding. Then practice one new behavior at a time with a buddy—then another. Easy does it. It’s best to eat this particular elephant one bite at a time. Change is never easy, especially when you are its focus. But excellence requires it.

Dr. Leila Naderi is an award-winning entrepreneur, educator, researcher and consultant, who is passionate about leadership development, partnership development, and social impact. She is the founder of Global Leadership Academy, an entirely volunteer-run organization, and Yoga for Leadership, a developmental program that bridges yoga and mindfulness to enhance holistic well-being and maximize individual, team, and organizational performance. Dr. Naderi is the Director of Partnership Development and Adjunct Faculty at Alliant International University. She has over a decade of leadership and management experience in different sectors. She is the co-author (with leadership expert Dr. John J. Franey) of The Yogi Leader: Discovering the Seven Elements of Leading with Mind, Body, & Heart. The Yogi Leader is both a book and a developmental program (of workshops, retreats, and resources) that is about discovering who we are as people, and who we are as leaders. As an advanced Hatha/Sivananda yoga instructor, Dr. Naderi was fascinated with the concept of the relationship between yoga practice and leadership while doing her doctoral dissertation work in leadership. She noticed an incredible synergy and correlation between the two. Her doctoral study found that leaders who practice yoga regularly score higher on authentic leadership skill tests than leaders who either don’t practice yoga or rarely practice yoga. As she worked through the concepts of yoga and leadership with her friend and leadership development consultant, Dr. John Franey, she realized that the chakras of yoga (the spiritual energy centers that exist within particular areas of the human body) and various leadership approaches were in fact extremely synergistic. From this synergy emerged the concept of “The Seven Elements of Leadership,” each of which is perfectly aligned with a chakra of yoga practice. Each of the elements is a different skill that people need in order to lead effectively and authentically with mind, body, and heart in any aspect of life. The book follows the stories of seven different leaders, each with their own set of problems and issues to deal with in their leadership practice. Each of their stories focuses on a different Element of Leadership and is aligned to a particular chakra. Dr. Naderi’s innovative projects include “Yoga 4 Leadership” which she founded in 2014, for organizing and leading executive retreats and workshops, integrating the principles of yoga and meditation into leadership training, with the goal of developing inspired leaders and creating a culture that fosters productivity, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and well-being. She founded the Global Leadership Academy in 2016 as a volunteer-run organization that serves the community and provides leadership training seminars. She states that her inspiration for creating this organization came when she became familiar with volunteer-run ecosystem of ServiceSpace (of which these Awakin Calls are a part). The goal of the Global Leadership Academy is to develop conscious leaders who act beyond profit to serve people and planet; bridge the gap between the leaders of today and tomorrow; build diverse and inclusive communities; encourage entrepreneurial activities; and connect scholars and practitioners. Leila was the recipient of Special Congressional Recognition by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2018 for her outstanding community service. In 2019 she was recognized as Outstanding Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership at Alliant International University, and also received the North San Diego Business Chamber’s Leadership Award for positively impacting the community. Born in Tehran, Iran, she now lives in San Diego, California. She obtained her PhD from the California School of Management and Leadership.

Sometimes You Must Create What You Want To Be Part Of. So this episode I am bring you my spiritual belief and explain what I have developed to do so. The Essential Way - A Foundation For Peace While conveying the Seven Elements of the Essential Way - Calmness, Compassion, Kindness, Forgiveness, Gratitude, Love and Mindfulness I believe in a higher source, but also believe engaging in this journey does not mean we have to take a vow of silence, or celibacy. We do not have to walk humbly with our heads down reciting quite words of scripture. Being spiritual dos not mean you have to be boringly serious. It does not mean you cannot live open and free, be child like, laugh and enjoy a glass of wine, get lost in good music or stand frozen in the majestic beauty of a heart-warming sunrise. I am a seeker of a higher consciousness and I do so in the manner of a Quasi Spiritual Warrior. I do not practice, I am. It is my mindset. It is the true Who, of Who I am. I have no Concern what your religious beliefs are. They are yours and I respect that. I do not think there should be so many rules in religion, and a spiritual belief has no room for ego and control. I am an advocate of non-segregated religion. My spirituality, my belief in a higher Source is something that flows through me each and every day and is not restricted to a weekend workshop. My spiritual beliefs have simply been minimalized and even segregated from the norm, and in the simplification have been purified into the Essential Way.

Today on the show we have screenwriter and producer Erik Bork. Erik Bork is a screenwriter best known for his work on the HBO miniseriesBAND OF BROTHERS and FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON, for which he wrote multiple episodes, and won two Emmy and two Golden Globe Awards as part of the producing team.Erik has also sold series pitches (and written pilots) at NBC and FOX, worked on the writing staff for two primetime dramas, and written feature screenplays on assignment for companies like Universal, HBO, TNT, and Playtone. He teaches screenwriting for UCLA Extension, National University, and The Writers Store, and offers one-on-one consulting to writers. Why don’t most scripts have the kind of success their writers' dream of? Because of problems with the basic idea for their story. Which the writer is usually unaware of. While story structure and scene writing choices do need to be top-notch, writers tend to rush into those parts of the writing process too quickly, without vetting their basic concept. This is a mistake professionals rarely make because their agents and managers insist that ideas be run past them first. And this usually leads to serious notes and development before the outlining process even starts. The "Seven Elements of a Viable Story" in The Idea form an acronym for the word PROBLEM, since every story is really about one, at its core. Each chapter focuses on one of these seven deceptively simple-looking aspects of a strong story, which are anything but easy to master. Mr. Bork highlights his own struggles as a writer, and his arrival at an understanding of how each of these elements works -- and how to know if one's idea really succeeds at each of them. A special section devoted to television writing (and its unique attributes) ends each chapter.Whatever your education and background in writing or story, this book and its unique focus contribute foundationally useful information not covered elsewhere -- which may be the missing piece that leads to greater results, both on the page and in the marketplace.Enjoy my conversation with Erik Bork.

NICK WALKER: Welcome to Manage This, the podcast by project managers for project managers. Every couple of weeks we meet to discuss what matters to you in the wide and diverse field of project management. It's our chance to reflect on our purpose; to take stock in how we're doing; and, when needed, challenge ourselves to step it up. We talk with project managers about real-life situations. We pick their brains to discover their ideas and motivations and find out what has worked for them. I'm your host, Nick Walker, and with me are the two main brains of the outfit, Andy Crowe and Bill Yates. And today, Andy, we're talking with the guy who literally wrote the book on measuring strategic gold. ANDY CROWE: Nick, I have been looking forward to this all week, just to get into the topic of strategy, to look at it; and to also look at it from a project management standpoint. NICK WALKER: Well, let's get right to it. Joining us via Skype is David Barrett, a professional speaker, a regular blogger, a podcast host, an education advisor, and author of five books. His career includes the creation and directing of a conference business; a training company; a software development firm; a speakers bureau; and, most recently, a TED-style event series for project professionals across North America. He specializes in helping people and organizations manage the uncertainty by creating healthy projects and strategies. David Barrett, thanks so much for joining us today here on Manage This. DAVID BARRETT: I'm thrilled to be here, gentlemen. Great to join you. NICK WALKER: You've recently coauthored a new book, coming out just in a few days, titled “Seven Elements of Strategy Execution.” David, what prompted this book? How did it come about? DAVID BARRETT: Well, 25, almost 30 years later into this business, and things have changed a lot. It's no longer build it on time, on scope, on budget for all of us project managers. The day is now here where we're being asked to step it up, to be more involved in the organization, to add value, and to be more than just the tickbox project manager that many of us grew up to know. So this whole piece of strategy is, in my mind, a natural evolution on many different fronts. I think it's now to everyone's benefit, to everyone's favor to start understanding why we're doing the work we're doing. And this portfolio of work that we're managing and working on is huge. It's mission critical. It's driving the business. And so the day has come that we're being asked, and we should be asking, why are we doing this? How does it fit into the strategic plan? So this is the connection of the work of all of us, of this wonderful community of project managers worldwide, to the “why.” In my opinion, just to that one word. Why are we doing this? How does this fit into the bigger picture? And that's a strategic plan. ANDY CROWE: I've heard it said before, David, that a man with a “why” can defeat a man with a “what” any day. DAVID BARRETT: Absolutely. The “what” is important. The “what” is important to know, to see that vision down at the end of the road. But just to drive us down to some object is not going to work. It never has. It never will. But to give us purpose to build, which gives us passion for what we are doing, it's so important today. You know, we're no longer staying with these organizations for many days, for our lives. We have options. So on both fronts it's important that we're connected. BILL YATES: That's true. David, I've seen this with PMI, as well. They've really, as they look at the performance that leads to exceptional project managers, those who are able to recognize the why, to see that context and understand how strategy influences their day-to-day decisions, they bring more value to their organization. I think even of the Talent Triangle when PMI rolled that out. Strategy is really, you know, it's named a little bit differently.

Today our Reformed trifecta considers hopping on the ol' evangelical bandwagon. The gang highlights some understated dangers of churches whose leadership present an alluring faux intimacy and show lack of integrity. They also give loyalty to said leaders and their man-made standards over loyalty to God's standards. With the continued kerfuffle surrounding some well-known pastors, the gang raises an important question: Why don't we speak up before things blow up? Join today's conversation to heed what well-known pastor, blogger, professor, and all-around big-time Christian celebrity, Carl Trueman, and two other people, have to say on this hot topic. If you have benefit from this weeks Bully Pulpit you will enjoy Seven Elements of Successful Shepherding by Timothy Witmer as a free digital download from The Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals.
