Reconnaissance Energy Africa CEO Brian Reinsborough joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce a significant milestone: the company has entered into a joint exploration agreement with Angola's National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG). This agreement marks the launch of a collaborative exploration project in the under-explored Etosha-Okavango Basin, located onshore in southeastern Angola. Reinsborough emphasized the strategic value of this addition to ReconAfrica's asset portfolio, describing it as a rare opportunity to gain early entry into Angola's onshore oil and gas sector at a low cost and with minimal work commitments. This move further complements the company's existing operations in neighboring Namibia and underscores the broader exploration potential of the Damara Fold Belt and Rift Basin systems. The agreement adds 5.2 million acres in Angola to ReconAfrica's current 6.3 million acres in Namibia, significantly expanding its footprint across one of the most promising frontier basins in southern Africa. The company's working interest in the new area will be 80%, with Angola's state-owned oil company Sonangol holding the remaining 20%. ReconAfrica will hold exclusive rights over the acreage during the term of the memorandum of understanding (MOU). Over the next 24 months, ReconAfrica plans to conduct a series of geological and geophysical studies, including a regional oil and gas seep survey, 2D seismic data acquisition, and comprehensive geochemical sampling and analysis. These efforts are aimed at identifying viable exploration targets and de-risking future drilling prospects. In parallel, ReconAfrica is preparing to drill its largest target to date—Prospect I—onshore Namibia, located just 47 kilometers from the newly acquired MOU area in Angola. The prospect is estimated to contain 365 million barrels of unrisked and 32 million barrels of risked prospective light to medium oil resources. This expansion into Angola signals ReconAfrica's continued commitment to unlocking the hydrocarbon potential of southern Africa, building a strong foundation for long-term growth through disciplined exploration and strategic partnerships. #proactiveinvestors #reconnaissanceenergyafricaltd #tsxv #reco #otcqx #recaf #NamibiaOil #ProspectI #OilExploration #AngolaOil #NamibiaOil #EnergyInvesting #OilAndGas #AfricanEnergy #UpstreamOil #BrianReinsborough #ProactiveInvestors

Reconnaissance Energy Africa CEO Brian Reinsborough joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share a drilling update on Prospect I, located onshore Namibia within Petroleum Exploration Licence 073. Prospect I represents the company's largest exploration target to date. It is estimated to hold approximately 365 million barrels of unrisked and 32 million barrels of risked prospective light to medium oil resources, or alternatively, 1.9 trillion cubic feet of unrisked and 140 billion cubic feet of risked prospective natural gas resources, based on a 100% working interest. Reinsborough reported that pre-construction activities are progressing on schedule and that pre-drill evaluations have been successfully completed. Drilling is planned to reach a target depth of 3,800 metres, with the flexibility to drill deeper depending on subsurface conditions—similar to the company's approach with the Naingopo exploration well. The Otavi geological section is anticipated to range between 1,500 and 1,800 metres in thickness, depending on total drilling depth. Insights gained from the Naingopo well have significantly enhanced ReconAfrica's understanding of the Damara Fold Belt, particularly regarding time-depth migration and structural interpretation of the Mulden and Otavi formations. This same reservoir zone at Naingopo exhibited more than 50 metres of reservoir-quality carbonates and oil shows, underscoring its potential. These developments mark an important step in advancing ReconAfrica's exploration strategy in one of Africa's most promising onshore hydrocarbon basins. #proactiveinvestors #reconnaissanceenergyafricaltd #tsxv #reco #otcqx #recaf #NamibiaOil #ProspectI #OilExploration #EnergyUpdate #OnshoreDrilling #OilAndGasNews #AfricanEnergy #OilDiscovery #EnergyInvesting

Reconnaissance Energy Africa CEO Brian Reinsborough joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce key exploration results from the Naingopo well in the Damara Fold Belt on Petroleum Exploration Licence 073, onshore Namibia. The well encountered over 50 metres of net reservoir within the Otavi Group, based on log analysis, with multiple indications of oil observed. These findings, which suggest a working petroleum system within the Damara Fold Belt, will be further confirmed through sidewall core analysis. Encouraged by these results, ReconAfrica plans to advance drilling at Prospect I in the Damara Fold Belt, ahead of the Kambundu well, which is scheduled to spud in July 2025. The company will continue analyzing fluid and rock samples over the coming months to further evaluate the discovery. Additionally, ReconAfrica is progressing permitting for a 3D seismic acquisition program, covering both the Rift Basin and the Damara Fold Belt. The seismic survey, expected to begin in H2 2025, will be conducted using vibroseis technology to refine future drilling targets. These results mark a significant milestone in Namibia's emerging oil exploration sector, reinforcing ReconAfrica's strategy to unlock the hydrocarbon potential of the Damara Fold Belt. The company has also announced it has completed the farm down agreement with BW Energy Limited. The sale of a 20% working interest in Petroleum Exploration Licence 73 has been approved by the Namibian Ministry of Mines and Energy and Namcor Exploration and Production Ltd. #proactiveinvestors #reconnaissanceenergyafricaltd #tsxv #reco #otcqx #recaf #NamibiaOil #EnergyInvesting #OilDiscovery #EnergySector #BWEnergy #DrillingUpdate #ProactiveInvestors #CEOInterview

Reconnaissance Energy Africa CEO Brian Reinsborough joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share key updates on the company's exploration activities in Namibia. ReconAfrica is currently drilling the Naingopo exploration well at a depth of approximately 4,000 meters. Upon completion, the company will execute a comprehensive logging and coring program, along with a vertical seismic profile, to assess potential oil or natural gas discoveries. Results will be analyzed and shared once the extensive logging and sample testing are complete. Preparations for the Kambundu exploration well are also advancing, with road and well site construction nearly finalized. Drilling on the Kambundu site will commence after analyzing the Naingopo well results. Additionally, ReconAfrica is planning Namibia's first-ever onshore 3D seismic program, aiming to unlock further exploration opportunities in the region. Significant cost-efficiency measures have also been implemented, reducing general and administrative expenses by $1 million compared to the same period last year. The company further strengthened its financial position through a partnership with BW Energy Limited, which acquired a 20% working interest in Petroleum Exploration Licence 073. This agreement includes a $22 million equity investment to fund a multi-well exploration program. The company emphasizing that the dual listing, under the symbol "REC," reflects the company's significant footprint as the largest acreage holder among publicly traded oil and gas exploration companies operating onshore in Namibia. ReconAfrica's primary listing remains on the TSX-Venture Exchange, ensuring broad investor access. In addition to its dual listing achievement, ReconAfrica received approval for the First Renewal Exploration Period for its onshore PEL 001 license in Botswana. Covering nearly 1.9 million acres, this license renewal, valid until 2028, mandates ReconAfrica to carry out extensive geotechnical evaluations, vegetation mapping, water studies, methane seep detection, environmental impact assessments, and contribute to Botswana's petroleum exploration and training initiatives. Exploration activities are advancing at the Naingopo well, where drilling resumed in mid-October and has reached 3,500 meters. The company aims to reach a target depth of 3,800 meters, with results expected post-completion following thorough logging and analysis for oil or natural gas samples. ReconAfrica is also preparing for Namibia's first onshore 3D seismic survey at its PEL 73 license. Scheduled for mid-2025, this 3D seismic acquisition will span 500 kilometers, enhancing the geological understanding of the Kavango Rift Basin and positioning the company to further explore this promising region. #proactiveinvestors #reconnaissanceenergyafricaltd #tsxv #reco #otcqx #recaf #NamibiaExploration #BrianReinsborough #OilAndGas #NamibiaStockExchange #EnergySector #3DSeismic #Namibia #Botswana #ProactiveInvestors #EnergyExploration #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

In a week when the Queen was said to have berated unspecified world leaders "for too much talking and not enough doing" on climate change issues,  Prince Harry has joined up with the non-profit conservation group   https://www.rewild.org/  in a campaign  to try and protect southern Africa's Okavango River Basin. The river basin is home to hundreds of thousands of people many of whom are indigenous to this area, as well as endangered wildlife, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage site.  We are informed that the Okavango ecosystem is being threatened by corporate oil exploration that could lead to devastating ecological consequences.Prince Harry, Re:wild, local communities and others in Namibia and Botswana are asking members of the public to sign an open letter to the governments of Namibia and Botswana calling for an immediate moratorium on oil and gas drilling in the Okavango River Basin, including by the Canadian oil and gas firm ReconAfrica, and seeking an impartial and independent commission to be established to analyse the effects that oil and gas exploration will have on the area. Re:wild report that since the end of 2020, when ReconAfrica obtained a license for exploratory drilling across a 13,200-square-mile area that covers part of the Okavango River Basin, local leaders and activists have publicly expressed their concerns that the company did not adequately consult local communities, that it may not be implementing sufficient environmental safeguards to prevent the pollution of the region's sole source of water, and that it may be putting endangered wildlife at greater risk. In an op-ed published in the Washington Post, Prince Harry and a local Namibian activist call on the World to stand in solidarity with the communities in Namibia and Botswana. They write that they believe profit is being put ahead of the protection on an important ecosystem, and say that ‘some things in life are best left undisturbed to carry out their purpose as a natural benefit. This is one of them.'ReconAfrica say on their website that they have been selected to work with the Namibian government and local officials to plan and drill three conventional exploratory stratigraphic wells in Namibia. Results from the first well have now confirmed there is an active petroleum system in the basin. They go on to say that ReconAfrica is using proven, safe, and effective technologies and applying rigorous safety and environmental protection standards in all aspects of their operations in Namibia. In terms of sustainability ReconAfrica states that it is developing plans to address international Net Zero carbon emissions targets but say ultimately, the people of Namibia and Botswana, through their traditional authorities, elected governments and regulatory agencies, will determine how the countries will manage their natural resources. Namibia - an 88% Christian nation in 2013 according to Wikipedia - has struck oil with the help of a Canadian company called ReconAfrica. The play is being called the Kovango Basin. By some reports it may be the third largest in the world. It is as-yet completely untapped. Namibia's government and people apparently want to develop their reserves, and that is both marvelous and commendable. Woke Western outlets like CNN have wasted no time in weaving a narrative of impending disaster in pieces like this one published earlier this month. Watch for campaigns in the West to apply diplomatic and economic pressure on Namibia to discourage her from pursuing her national self-interest. Rather than trying to poo-poo the effort with apocalyptic Chicken Little talk of ruined ecosystems and poisoned drinking water, however, it should be noted that American and Canadian oil and gas development is the cleanest, safest, and most efficient in the world. With help from North American oil and gas expertise, we should expect Namibia will develop her own oil and gas industry both safely and responsibly. As of 2019, Namibia was ranked 130th on the Human Development Index. With a current score of 0.646 as a starting point, how high might that HDI rise with domestic energy development? I hope we find out. But the only hope of finding out is in resisting hyperbolic zeal for Climate Change dogma which is anti-human, anti-science, and purposefully counterproductive. I for one am excited at the possibility of Namibia developing her own reserves. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/garrett-ashley-mullet/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/garrett-ashley-mullet/support

As Premier Oil is trying to rework its acquisition of North Sea assets from BP, what might Exxon make of such a state of affairs? There's a list of companies bidding for Exxon's assets, but the interminable renegotiations are probably best avoided.  Mark managed to keep his eye off the birds in the opposite house (actual birds; he's not a creep, just easily distracted) for long enough to talk through some of the North Sea's collective bargaining plans. Some contractors are in, some are out, while some just shake it all about.  Namibia is a lovely place for a honeymoon although it is probably not ideal for fracking. ReconAfrica is hoping to find a new sweet spot in the country's north, but is facing concerns around environmental impacts.  This episode of Energy Voice Out Loud was brought to you in association with Baker Hughes and its Subsea Connect. Join Baker Hughes on the 15th, 22nd and 29th of September for Subsea Connect TV; a virtual event series and hear from operators, learn from case studies and discuss new ways to improve economics and performance over the life of a field.
