We are live in Paris where the French government has collapsed after Prime Minister Francois Bayrou loses a vote of confidence over his austerity budget. France will now seek its fifth prime minister in less than two years. Bayrou warned lawmakers that while they can oust him, they cannot ‘erase reality' about the country's ballooning debt. We are also in Munich at the IAA Mobility 2025 show where European car makers show off their latest models with Chinese rivals cranking up the pressure across the Continent. Xpeng boss He Xiaopeng tells CNBC he plans to take his mass-market Mona brand overseas next year. At the Gastech summit in Milan we speak to TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanné who says European energy markets must diversify in the face of Opec+ output hikes, U.S. tariffs and tighter sanctions on Russia. And the European single market also dominates discussions at the Ambrosetti Forum with former Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta telling this channel that President Trump's tariffs have served as a ‘federator' for European unity.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Shell and the South African government have applied for leave to appeal a High Court ruling that halted offshore drilling along the West Coast. Last month, the Western Cape High Court overturned environmental approval for exploration in Block 5,6 and 7 pointing to inadequate assessments of oil spill risks, climate impacts and effects on coastal communities. The case was brought by The Green Connection and Natural Justice against TotalEnergies and Shell. Elvis Presslin spoke to Shahil Singh, Legal Advisor at The Green Connection

Aberdeen features lead Ryan Duff is joined by renewables reporter Michael Behr and north west correspondent Floyd March as they discuss the week's headlines. Up first, Michael has been keeping tabs on TotalEnergies and the Gryphon FPSO. Decommissioning is set to go ahead for the ageing North Sea asse,t and Nobel is not happy about it. The Energy Voice trio discuss whether this sets a dangerous precedent for smaller firms with tie backs to larger production hubs. Next up, Floyd makes his Energy Voice Out Loud debut as he looks into solar in Humber and how one local councillor has raised concerns of farmland being bought over by foreign firms for renewable energy developments. Is this the old 'not in my back yard' argument or is there something to this argument? Finally, Ryan talks us through Centrica's acquisition of the Isle of Grain LNG terminal and the trio examines the firm's argument that its latest UK investment will strengthen energy security. This comes hot off the heels of threats to close the Rough gas storage site and weeks after some disappointing financial results for the business.

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Allen Hall: Well, we're back with another edition of the Uptime Wind Energy podcast. I got Rosemary Barnes in Australia, Phil Totaro in Warm and sunny California, and Joel Saxon in practically hell in temperature in Austin, Texas. I was just down in Dallas, Texas a day ago, and man, is that hot. There's just like a, a certain kind of heat, you know, you need to get indoors pretty quick. Texas heat is really bad right now. Joel Saxum: You know, one thing I didn't know about this area out here west of Austin, like in the Hill country, it's actually really windy out here. Like there's a steady wind all the time that, and you don't hit [00:01:00] wind farms for another like three hours when you had West, like the first ones. But it's like, I lived in Houston and Texas and it was pretty dormant most of the time, but it, there's constant wind here as the temperatures change throughout the day. All the time explains all the wind turbines. Rosemary Barnes: Yeah, you sound like me when I moved to Denmark and I'm like, why do I have to live in this windy place? Allen Hall: So we have a birthday to celebrate and no, it's not Rosie's birthday. It's Nord Deck's birthday and it's celebrating their 40th anniversary and they've been around since 1985. And some facts about Nordex that they published really interesting. They have developed 46 different onshore turbine types. Across the two companies, which was Nordex, SE, and Acciona. And That's amazing. So in 40 years, did those two companies now merge together A couple of years ago? Uh, is they have 46 different onshore term designs from 250 kilowatts up to seven megawatt machines. Now Rosemary, I think this kind of high, [00:02:00] and congratulations to Nordex by the way. That's quite an achievement. It does highlight the rate of pace. For wind turbines from the mid eighties up till now. One new turbine a year is a lot. Rosemary Barnes: Yeah. And it's not the hugest company, right. It's not like they've got a hundred thousand employees developing those, uh, that one new turbine every year. So, yeah. Um. Nobody's been sitting around on their hands at that company. Joel Saxum: They made it past the, is it, isn't it the rule of thumb, Alan? We talk about businesses like in the states, like if you make it past five years, you're, you're good Allen Hall: al almost right? So most companies fail within the first year to three years. It's, it's hard to make it to three, then five, then 10. If you can make it across 10, you have something worthwhile. It's gonna stick around for a little bit. And, and Nordics has. Rosemary Barnes: What's weather guard at? Allen Hall: Uh, we're at. Almost 2020. Rosemary Barnes: Whew. An institution. Allen Hall: An institution. Yeah. We need to beat an institution at this point. And over in the uk, uh, the [00:03:00] UK's Crown Estate. Now this is an important story everyone. The UK's Crown Estate is making major investment commitments, uh,

The hosts also critique the financial reality of "renewable energy" and highlight TotalEnergies' expansion into Malaysia for LNG growth. The episode closes with oil prices dipping below $70, geopolitical risk recalibration, and a call for investor caution amid market volatility.Highlights of the Podcast 00:00 - Intro01:12 - Trump reveals Iran would ‘like to talk' about a nuclear deal since they're ‘not winning' war against Israel02:15 - Naval Force Sees Minor Cargo Dip Via Oil Chokepoint Hormuz: What It Means for Energy Investors03:16 - Rystad: Oil Prices To Remain Below $80 Despite Escalating Middle East Tensions05:28 - The greatest oxymoron statement of all time: “Renewable Energy”07:13 - TotalEnergies expands in Malaysia with Petronas deal11:29 - Market Update13:06 - OutroPlease see the links below or articles that we discuss in the podcast.Trump reveals Iran would ‘like to talk' about a nuclear deal since they're ‘not winning' war against IsraelNaval Force Sees Minor Cargo Dip Via Oil Chokepoint Hormuz: What It Means for Energy InvestorsRystad: Oil Prices To Remain Below $80 Despite Escalating Middle East TensionsThe greatest oxymoron statement of all time: “Renewable Energy”TotalEnergies expands in Malaysia with Petronas dealFollow Stuart On LinkedIn and TwitterFollow Michael On LinkedIn and TwitterENB Top NewsEnergy DashboardENB PodcastENB SubstackENB Trading DeskOil & Gas Investing– Get in Contact With The Show –

Of moeten we zeggen: postbode Trump? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The rapid escalation in the feud between the two men comes just days after Musk left his government job with a golden key from the president. Plus, a landmark trial opens in Paris against TotalEnergies, accused of "greenwashing" its fossil fuel activities.
