But why is the winner a surprise?- MotoGP Race: Well that was odd: weather that never was, and strategy that strikes out- Marc has nothing to lose - so he doesn't- Jorge Martin forgets a basic racing strategy- Pecco finishes in the same position - with a much different result- KTM once again has encouraging results- The MotoGP Championship Picture: back down to single-digits- My take on the San Marino GPWhat did you think of the first Misano round?

In the old days the Grand Prix at this circuit used to be known as the San Marino GP, now however we have to call it the “FORMULA 1 MSC CRUISES GRAN PREMIO DEL MADE [...] The post Episode 356 – Have We Got A Championship? appeared first on 3Legs4Wheels.
This was a bizarre episode to record, because how often does the race itself take a complete back seat? (No, not Catalunya) But the main event was another Marc Marquez crisis meeting as the rumours really started to fly around that a Gresini Ducati might be on the table. The talk has cooled somewhat, but with Marquez not happy about his first run of the 2024 Honda, he's opened the door for the first time on the record that he may bail early. Is it panic stations for Honda? We also had Jorge Martin take a dominant double win over the weekend with completely insane pace, ahead of a mangled hand thayt belonged to Marco Bezzecchi, and a Francesco Bagania that finished third despite barely being able to walk just 7 days after being run over! And don't forget that Dani Pedrosa was back with a pair of 4th places too! Some impressive performances all round, and a warning ahead of India next week, all on another Motorsport101!

Marc Marquez dominated yet another MotoGP weekend in off-track terms as he swept the paddock into a 'will he/won't he?'' frenzy at Misano with four days of speculation over whether he was about to break his factory Honda contract to join brother Alex on one of Gresini's year-old Ducatis for 2024.Then he tested Honda's 2024 bike on Monday and that prospect suddenly seemed a whole lot more realistic.Simon Patterson, Valentin Khorounzhiy and Matt Beer delve into all the drama Marquez created and assess the likelihood of the Gresini move actually happening in the Misano episode of The Race MotoGP Podcast. They explain why their levels of scepticism fluctuated through the weekend, and what the consequences might be for the rest of the Ducati line-up if Marquez made the leap. And our panel makes it pretty clear what outcome they all want to see from this storyline too.Another past champion at a struggling Japanese manufacturer team gets some attention too - Fabio Quartararo may not be leaving Yamaha before 2024, but is he going to spend 2024 trying to get out?The San Marino GP itself is also discussed - with some feisty debate over whether Jorge Martin's flawless domination was actually that impressive given how battered his main rivals were from the Catalan GP.Dani Pedrosa's amazing (but not amazing enough to satisfy one panellist) comeback and Takumi Takahashi's embarrassing one feature as well. And we also pay tribute to IRTA chief Mike Trimby after his sudden death in the middle of the race weekend, and explain just how huge his contribution to modern MotoGP was.Follow The Race on Instagram, Twitter and FacebookCheck out our latest videos on YouTubeDownload our app on iOS or Android Hosted on Acast. Join us this week as we recap the 2022 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. Red Bull had a triumphant answer for Ferrari on their home turf and Charles Leclerc's first major mistake of the season brings this title fight back into contention.
First sprint race weekend of the year, little bit of weird weather, little bit of crashing Ferraris on their home turf. An interesting weekend overall, with the race itself maybe being the least interesting bit. We talk sprint qualifying in general, how to fix F1 (worse brakes!), and you know...the regular stuff.
Well Jim and Rich return to talk about the San Marino Gp! (apologies for the lateness of the show!). In a rare occurrence, everyone who won last week won this weekend! They guys try to dissect what is wrong with Pedro Acosta and his lack of a race victory. In Moto2 they marvel over another stunning ride by Raul for a second consecutive victory. In MotoGP it was all about the weather or lack there off as Pecco ruled and Fabio increased his grip on the Championship. Enjoy! -- ©2021 MotoPod Twitter || Facebook || Donate!

Lewis Duncan and Oriol Puigdemont look back at the MotoGP 2021 San Marino Grand Prix. Last time out on the Tank Slappers podcast we predicted the continued pace of Pecco Bagnaia and he didn't disappoint. Uri describes the weekend like an exhibition by the whole of the Ducati family for a variety of reasons. The guys look at the young stars who are coming to the fore and explain why Ducati management should be feeling satisfied with the choice of riders signed up to their program. Uri also hails the "insane" race pace of Enea Bastianini who achieved spectacular lap times whilst also managing his tyres to achieve a podium position. Joan Mir is now an outsider for the title and fighting for podiums at best, but what can Suzuki do to unlock potential from the bike?

Johnny Herbert joins Bring Back V10s to revisit the final year of Lotus in 1994, when the team sadly bowed out of F1 without even scoring a point. Herbert, Glenn Freeman and Edd Straw go through Lotus's entire final season in great detail, from starting the year with a C-spec version of its 1992 car, with an ageing "dumbell" of an engine, which was finally replaced at the Italian Grand Prix - where Johnny famously qualified fourth. Johnny and Edd both offer their theories on where he could have finished that day at Monza, were it not for a heartbreaking punt from Eddie Irvine at the start. The following day Lotus went into administration. We also look at McLaren's attempts to sign Johnny at the start of 1994, how the team was affected by its own incidents on F1's horrific Imola weekend, and Johnny recounts in amazing detail what he encountered when he arrived at the scene of team-mate Pedro Lamy's terrifying airborne accident in testing at Silverstone shortly after the San Marino GP. He also explains why even the new Lotus 109 wasn't any fun to drive, and how Lotus's miserable season left him not even wanting to drive the car. Eventually Johnny was snapped up by Ligier and then Benetton, but he watched from afar as Lotus limped on without him, before it was bought by David Hunt, who had to shut the team down a month later.
