In this episode, we don't review a move! Instead, Marty tries to watch the Lamborghini movie, Chris does some research on how to help YouTubers reach more viewers and we discuss why Ted Kravtiz is vital to Sky's F1 coverage. But first, B is for Build has posted a carefully worded summary of the court cases surrounding licensing for Eleanor builds. Girardo and Co and Fiskens are selling cars in Paris connected to the movie Le Mans, and Johnny Herbert and Paul di Resta are no longer presenting on Sky F1. Since the last episode Marty tried watching the Lamborghini movie and it didn't go well, Mat Armstrong is trying to rebuild a 992 GT3 and Mighty Car Mods are literally overnighting parts from Japan.Chris enjoyed the behind the scenes look at broadcasting the 2021 British Grand Prix on F1 TV, but it was this video from JayEmmoncars that sparked the question of what viewers can do to help support YouTube creators they like. The big takeaways were:The best thing you can do is personally share and recommend videos. This helps creators find like minded viewers and will help grow their audience. Listen to creators. If they are pushing their merch, Patreon, brand sponsors or other sales, this is them telling you how their business is supported. Liking, commenting and subscribing may be a cliche, but it does help. By subscribing to channels, it does help them find sponsors and set rates accordingly. A huge thanks for James Martin and Misha Charoudin for their input, as well as Attache Travel, Super Rider and more for their honest insight. In 'What Is Henry Catchpole Up To This Week?' news, he's squeezed his tall frame into a little Caterham and shown that less can still be engaging and exciting on video. This week Oli and James P are joined by a special guest: Cosworth engine designer Matt Grant. Listen to an F1 nerd's dream as Matt reveals the secrets of Cosworth V10 and V8 engines from the late 1990s to 2013. We ask Matt about designing a V10 and V8 engine, how they compare to today's immensely complex power units, and how an engine made its way into a car after a team had agreed to use Cosworth V10/V8 We hear about Matt's first two seasons in 1997 and 1998.  After a successful first season and tricky times in 1998, Cosworth jumped back to the front of the grid in 1999 with Johnny Herbert's famous win for Stewart at the Nurburgring. We find out Matt's thoughts on Ford buying Cosworth and works team Stewart in 1999, and how this affected Cosworth going into 2000. How did Cosworth interact with such a huge manufacturer? Matt gives us details on how the engine developed under the Jaguar name, and his thoughts on the blockbuster buyout from Red Bull after Ford sold Cosworth and Stewart in 2004. We get an insight into what happens when an F1 team fails: Arrows were a customer in 2002, but sadly went under midway through the season. With F1's "new teams" arriving in 2010, we hear about Cosworth's involvement as an engine supplier to all three teams. We get the details of h the final few weeks of the team's existence. Listen in Matt tells about his venture Modatek, and how it came about. We hear how these classic bespoke Cosworth engines are maintained, as well as his all-time favourite Cosworth engine and car combination. For extra nerdy goodness, here are some Cosworth V10 facts from Matt! Cosworth TJ V10 stats: Max power = 900 bhp, which equates to 300 hp/litre – the DFV only created 140 hp/litre when it first ran. Max speed = 19,000 rpm, which means that the piston moves up and down 300 times per second, which is 30 times in the blink of an eye. At this speed the piston goes from zero to over 60 mph and back to zero in a distance of just 44 mm, with only the two big end bolts stopping it from escaping. To keep the piston in the engine, the con rod bolts have to withstand a 3,000 kg load, which is more than the weight of a Range Rover, and the bolt thread is only 9mm. -- Keep up to date with all the latest Formula 1 News @ www.formulanerds.com -- Follow Us: Facebook - www.Facebook.com/FormulaNerds Twitter - www.twitter.com/Formula_Nerds Instagram www.instagram.com/FormulaNerds -- For Advertising & Sponsorship Opportunities:- Email Business@FormulaNerds.com Learn more about your ad choices. He's a survivor, who fought back from a crash which could have broken his spirit. Martin Donnelly's racing career was cut short at the 1990 Spanish Grand Prix, when his Lotus left the track and hit a barrier at 160 miles per hour, throwing him from the car. Martin tells Tom Clarkson his memories of that fateful weekend, and the great lengths he went to as he tried to return to racing – including treatment from the doctor who had helped Niki Lauda after the Austrian's life-changing crash. He reflects on his close friendship with Ayrton Senna, who rushed to the scene that day in Spain, and on his brotherhood with fellow racing drivers like Damon Hill and Johnny Herbert, alongside whom he rose to Formula 1. Support from his father and deals with shrewd team owner Eddie Jordan shaped his career. His time at the top of motorsport was short-lived, his potential never fully realised, but Martin never stopped racing. Johnny Herbert joins Bring Back V10s to revisit the final year of Lotus in 1994, when the team sadly bowed out of F1 without even scoring a point. Herbert, Glenn Freeman and Edd Straw go through Lotus's entire final season in great detail, from starting the year with a C-spec version of its 1992 car, with an ageing "dumbell" of an engine, which was finally replaced at the Italian Grand Prix - where Johnny famously qualified fourth. Johnny and Edd both offer their theories on where he could have finished that day at Monza, were it not for a heartbreaking punt from Eddie Irvine at the start. The following day Lotus went into administration. We also look at McLaren's attempts to sign Johnny at the start of 1994, how the team was affected by its own incidents on F1's horrific Imola weekend, and Johnny recounts in amazing detail what he encountered when he arrived at the scene of team-mate Pedro Lamy's terrifying airborne accident in testing at Silverstone shortly after the San Marino GP. He also explains why even the new Lotus 109 wasn't any fun to drive, and how Lotus's miserable season left him not even wanting to drive the car. Eventually Johnny was snapped up by Ligier and then Benetton, but he watched from afar as Lotus limped on without him, before it was bought by David Hunt, who had to shut the team down a month later. The 1991 Canadian Grand Prix is well remembered for Nigel Mansell stopping on the final lap after waving to the crowd. But what actually happened? We look back at the theories around his car grinding to a halt - with a little help from legendary Williams technical director Patrick Head - and reflect on the explanations Mansell and Adrian Newey have given over the years as well. Through the rest of the episode, we look at why Williams's cars kept breaking down in early-1991, the moment McLaren realised its car and engine was no match for the the Newey-Head-designed Williams-Renault FW14, how Mansell upset Renault when he rejoined the team, and why he thought his title chances were over so early in the year. We also look at the fortunes of the race-winning Benetton team, from its ambitious plans to run a V12 Ford engine in 1992, to the political wrangling behind the scenes that led to the acrimonious departure of design icon John Barnard - and why Barnard had told Ayrton Senna not to join the team! We also revisit the Ferrari upheaval of 1991 from a different perspective to the Alain Prost side of the story we've previously covered, and look at how Johnny Herbert's long awaited full-time return to F1 reduced him to tears on his first weekend back with Lotus. Plus there's talk on a significant weekend in Jordan's F1 history, why Riccardo Patrese looked so good against Mansell at this stage of the year, and how F1 driving standards and reliability have changed from 30 years ago to today.

Once the bright young hope of British Motorsport, Herbert’s career came to an abrupt halt when he suffered horrific damage to his feet in an F3000 crash. Sebastian Vettel recently said that he fails to understand the 'selfie generation' and social media. This is possibly why he is 'most suited' to replace Bernie Ecclestone as F1's oh-so-important CEO, say Mithila and Kunal in this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. The leaked payment reports also indicated that Mclaren-Honda were paid nearly $82 million in 2015 - a tad too much to pay for entertainment alone! On that note, will Fernando Alonso miss racing in China too? Another chance for Stoffel Vandoorne to be the next Max Verstappen? Honda announced that they will focus on 'power' in their 'power'units; a season too late? And we also bring to you our special feature - 'Hamming Around With Lewis Hamilton'. After being humiliated by Fernando Alonso in public a few weeks ago, Johnny Herbert decided to strike back via a video starring his arch-rival, Lewis Hamilton. Could the famous 'MSC' abbreviation be back in F1? Why the Chinese Grand Prix could be shorter? And finally, why Hamilton might have none or very few followers in China? And btw, F1 now has a Tinder-type app for their Paddock Club guests. We tell you more, tune in! You think Johnny Herbert is still on Fernando's Christmas Card list? In this episode of Motorsport101, focused mostly on SO MUCH OF BAHRAIN: - Nico Rosberg won, Lewis Hamilton gets torpedo'd by Val Bottas and Vettel blows up on the line. Amazingly, the race was still good. - Has public opinion already turned on Haas? We talk the cynicism behind Grosjean's 5th place finish. - We talk Stoffel Vandoorne's awesome points scoring debut, the nature of Alonso being dropped and THAT conversation with Johnny Herbert. - We break down some of Bahrain's TV ratings and early thoughts on C4's coverage so far. - We talk Hamilton getting caught with a shisha pipe, and ask if he's getting a bad rap from the media. - We also talk about the 2nd coming of Elimination Qualifying as well as the GPDA's more shady behaviour. Politics are fun guize. Also, we talk IndyCar's Phoenix GP, and why it didn't really work on paper despite the race being relatively entertaining, as well as the new blood feud between Graham Rahal and Max Chilton, and why we think Rahal was a tad hypocritical, despite it not being his fault. Hope you enjoy the show, and we'll catch up with MotoGP and Formula E on next week's episode!

The repeat mismanagement of the qualifying fiasco has brought Formula 1's power struggles to the fore, say Mithila and Kunal in this week's episode of the Inside Line F1 Podcast. While the FIA & FOM seem to have ganged up against the teams, the fans have been neglected yet again. And for a change, the drivers too. Given that the 'three tyre compound' rule seems to be working wonders for the sport, the duo wonder if this was a fluke decision after all. Also, does it make the sport a tad too confusing at times? We tell you why we prefer tyre strategy over fuel strategy. Nico Rosberg's victory in Bahrain was long overdue, but the same can be said about his career as well. Whether the 'five consecutive wins' statistic works for him or not, Rosberg is a true champion and we tell you why. As for Lewis Hamilton, he seems better in finishing races than starting them; will this prompt a rule change by the FIA-FOM to help him back to his winning ways? We discussed the Hamilton-Bottas incident and wonder if the FIA Stewards are missing Pastor Maldonado this season. Fernando Alonso might have missed performing on track in Bahrain, but he did make up for it via a stellar performance on LIVE TV with Johnny Herbert. Clap! Clap! And we wouldn't be surprised if Stoffel Vandoorne reluctantly returned the keys of the Mclaren-Honda back to Alonso for China. Lastly, are Ferrari pushing their development agenda at the cost of reliability? And did you know that three out of Kimi Raikkonen's last four podium finishes came at circuits where there was no alcohol served (on the podium). Tune in!
