Communities need to decide what they need, and we need decentralised systems to provide us what we need.The SDGs are a wonderful set of ideas and principles, but they are not a rule book and they do not provide nations, regions or governments of any size a playbook by which to mitigate the effects of climate change or to specifically protect the environment, endangered species and delicate ecosystems.There are scientists fighting a battle of information uphill and with one hand tied behind their backs against the lobby machines of powerful corporates whose annual dividend increases are the only changes they are interested in. These corporate machines hold the golden-black strings of political influence and media control. When people talk of a systemwide change that needs to come in, these are the kinds of factors that need to be addressed.We can make changes at local and regional levels that will send out ripples across the vastness of our lands. He debuted in theatre with the play “Bhasmasur ko Nali haad” in 1987 / TV Serial “Maun Aakash” in 1988 and feature with “Bijaya Parajay in 1989. He has acted in more than 50 features, 20 Dramas and 25 TV serials. Saroj Khanal can portray a lot just by doing little. He never tried to overplay a scene and seemed comfortable with a minimalist statement. His performance as Nakul in Prem Pinda is considered to be one of the most memorable characters of Nepali cinema. It gives us strength, courage, hope and confidence to stand and face the tough times. I have also narrated a rags to riches story of Kalpana Saroj who had the same fighting spirit in her life. Kalpana was born in a small village in a dalit family had to face lot of financial & social issues in her childhood. She was married off at a tender age of 12 which turned out to be a very bad full of domestic violence. When she left her husband & started her new journey towards the success she worked at a garment factory for a salary of Rs. 2 per day. Inspite of all these challenges she never gave up on her dreams & always had a fighting spirit. Today she is a chairman of a company worth Rs. 2000 Cr. I discovered Podcasts when someone suggested I take up voice recording as a hobby. I explored and loved the medium. I never used it professionally because I felt when visuals are available, why would anyone just want to listen. As time passed and my experience with the medium grew, I realized how wrong I was. I love creating information for patients. I truly believe it makes my work very easy, not to mention enjoyable. I guess the two things just came together and the idea of this podcast series was born. This introduction would be incomplete if I don't mention the contributions of Mr Navin Daga without whose inspiration, suggestions and help, I would never have become a podcast artist, my wife Saroj and my friends and colleagues whose invaluable inputs made this day possible.
