These days, we're hearing a lot more about ultra processed foods and the dangers of over eating these highly industrialised food products. But what exactly are UPFs, how bad are they really and how can you spot them when out doing the grocery shop? In this episode, nutrition consultant Sophie Morris joins Róisín Ingle to answer all these questions and to explain why she's joined the growing movement away from ultra processed foods. Morris has amassed more than 300 thousand followers on her Instagram account, where she spreads the word about healthy eating, educates people on ingredient lists and suggests ‘clever supermarket swaps' to her followers. In this conversation, we hear about her move from finance into food, her concerns about the hot school lunches scheme being rolled out across the country and what's next for her in 2025.But first, Irish Times journalist Niamh Towey is here to talk through the stories that caught her eye this week, including the disappointing results of a national childcare survey, why Nikita Hand has brought Conor McGregor back to court and how Mark Zuckerberg's is bringing a new “masculine” energy to Meta. There's a lot to love about being an introvert. We often have rich inner lives and thrive in solitary pursuits, and we also like people. We're also often creative and introspective. In a world where introversion is often misunderstood, it can be difficult to celebrate our gifts and strengths as introverts. But by embracing who we are, we can find great satisfaction and happiness in our lives. Let's celebrate introversion! Let's get to know our strengths and needs. Let's bust myths such as introversion is shyness or that introverts don't like people. You have great gifts! Do you know what they are? Are you using them? Are you known for them? Be proud! Celebrate who you are!Through this podcast, I've had the opportunity to meet so many amazing introverts. Some are introvert coaches and authors, some are successful professionals that have learned to embrace their introversion. And as an introvert, I have such an amazing time having these deep one-on-one conversations with these incredible individuals and making these connections. We talk about strengths, needs, strategies for success, and even do some myth-busting. I ask every guest to share their own introverted strengths or superpower or what they have also seen in others. Hi and welcome to another episode of the Creative Introvert Entrepreneur Podcast, which is hosted by Kim Beasley, an Introvert Entrepreneur Coach. The focus of this show is to help introverts build their business brand online. A favorite quote of this show is Introverts Unite. Inspiring you with this quote so it can encourage you to be successful at building your business brand online. For this podcast episode, Sophie Morris will share tips on how to become free from stress and overwhelm as you grow your business. About our guest, Sophie:Sophie helps quiet professionals and business owners become free from stress and overwhelm and learn to use their voice on their own terms through expert, one-to-one coaching and courses. A qualified coach, she has created the QUIET coaching system—a transformative system designed specifically for introverts. Sophie works with introverts because she feels passionately that quiet people have a hard time in a world designed for extroverts; where they may feel written off or ignored. It can feel that the person who shouts loudest is the one that is listened to, but it doesn't have to be this way. She helps her clients cut through the noise and be heard while utilising their unique introvert skills and talents and staying true to who they really are. Sophie's approach is individual, supportive, preventative, effective and calm. All her work comes from a place of support, compassion, encouragement, honesty and kindness. With a bit of accountability, too. Sophie is a member of the Association for Coaching and the International Coach Federation, two of the leading regulatory bodies in a largely unregulated industry. This means that you can relax knowing you are in safe hands. Final ThoughtsThanks for listening in as Sophie shared her knowledge about becoming free from stress and overwhelm on the Creative Introvert Entrepreneur Podcast. Dunedin soprano Sophie Morris previews her upcoming live-streamed concert to raise funds for Pet Refuge NZ.
TV Chef and author Sophie Morris is a new mum who’s not afraid to tell it how it is when it comes to motherhood. As a nutrition coach who specialises in baby & child nutrition she knows the importance of giving your child the best start in their food journey. But it was Sophies’ difficult start to her motherhood journey that first bought her to my attention. Sophie was a young and healthy women and after seeing her friends around her having babies she naturally thought that once she started trying herself she would soon have an adorable baby in her arms. But after a year of counting and measuring her cycles Sophie and her partner were still no closer. She felt alone and at her wits end. But once she opened up to her close friends she soon realised that nearly all had a similar story of how difficult they found it to get pregnant. Sophie couldn’t believe the secrecy that existed around fertility and vowed to not be another quiet voice. Eventually Sophie fell pregnant and she now has a beautiful baby boy Wrio. Despite feeling terrible anxiety through her pregnancy about the precious cargo she was carrying, when it came time for her body to enter the birthing stage, although quicker than she had anticipated, she was overwhelmed by the instinctive strength of the female body. Although nothing could prepare Sophie for the equally huge challenge of the first few months of sleep deprivation that left her exhausted, disoriented and her tank empty. Sophies’ honesty about the difficulties she faced during this period is as refreshing as it is brutal. Obviously food plays a massive part in Sophie’s life and she has thrown herself feet first at introducing Wrio to the wonderful world of food. Many of her recipes and guides can be found in her Instagram Stories: https://www.instagram.com/sophie_morris/ They are well worth checking out and you can visit her website here: https://www.sophiesnutrition.com Thanks as always for listening and if you would like to keep the discussion going please follow me on Instagram and thanks as always for listening. Flung through space to the other side of the galaxy, this crew are facing one hell of a bumpy road trip home. It's Star Trek: Voyager! Is a logical rule obeying Vulcan really the best choice for an undercover spy? Is Janeway's hair falling out of place her version of the classic Kirk shirt rip?
