There are no good martinis to start the week but Jim and Greg have plenty to discuss about President Biden playing hardball with Israel over ammunition, a seemingly sane House Democrat getting indicted on bribery charges, and South Dakota Gov. just making things worse as she tries to promote her new book.First, they fume over reports that Biden has paused the delivery of some U.S.-made ammunition to Israel, with no explanation from the White House or anyone else. Is this designed to discourage Israel from going into Rafah to eradicate Hamas? Whatever the reason, an explanation is warranted. Then, they discuss the indictments aimed at Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar and his wife Imelda over them allegedly accepting $600,000 in bribes from an energy firm connected with the Azerbaijan government. If it's true, Cuellar obviously ought to be prosecuted. But are Democrats also eager to oust the Democrat most likely to make common cause with Republicans on the border and other issues? Finally, they have multiple observations about South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem's failed attempts to stop the political bleeding over revelations in her new book. From dog killing to whether she ever met with North Korean dictators Kim Jon Un, the answers on "Face the Nation" Sunday were less than impressive - and further proof she won't be and shouldn't be nominated for vice president. Please visit our great sponsors:Fast Growing Treeshttps://fastgrowingtrees.com/martiniUse code Martini to save an additional 15% off on your first order.

It's the trial that has captured the world's attention — and, given that it's closed off from cameras, very few people know what the Trump hush money prosecution looks like up close. One person who does? Politico reporter Erica Orden. She's been in the courtroom all week, and joins Playbook co-author Ryan Lizza to talk about the biggest developments — and why they matter in the short and long term. Plus, Playbook has a juicy excerpt from the new book by South Dakota Gov. (and Trump VP hopeful) Kristi Noem, and what Rep. Racial incidents keep happening at North Dakota school events. At basketball games. Proms. Hockey games. Part of the problem is, we don't know if they're happening more, or less. Maybe we're just noticing them more now that everyone has a smartphone in their pocket and the ability to document the taunts and jeers and boorish behavior. State Rep. Jayme Davis is a Democrat from District 9a, which covers the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation. In the state House of Representatives, she's the minority caucus leader. She wants to do something about this problem. "I don't look for racism. That's not something I look for in my daily life," she said on this episode of Plain Talk. "But it shows up." During the 2023 session, Davis introduced a resolution calling for a study of racial incidents at North Dakota school events. It passed, but the the Legislature's interim committees chose not to take it up. But she says she's not going to stop trying. She'd like to see data collected about these incidents, to measure the scope of the problem, and she'd also liked to see more training for the state's educators, sports officials, and even lawmakers. Also on this episode, are North Dakota's political leaders being too tough on electric vehicles? And what was with South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem bragging about killing a dog? Me and co-host Chad Oban discuss. Want to subscribe to Plain Talk? Search for the show wherever you get your podcasts, or click here for more information.

Join Jim and Greg today as they chronicle South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem murdering her chances to become Trump's running mate, why the FBI's claims of falling crime rates are seriously flawed, and the media praising President Biden for preserving a free press when his actions suggest exactly the opposite.First, they dig into the four-day firestorm of criticism against South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, after it was revealed in her forthcoming autobiography that years ago she shot a 14-month-old dog when it failed as a hunting dog. They're also critical of Noem and hope this development takes her out of the running for the GOP vice presidential nomination since her previous personal and policy decisions already ought to disqualify her.Next, they groan as the FBI fails to get an accurate picture of crime rates across the nation by forcing local police to enter data in such a cumbersome way that some big cities don't enter crime statistics at all. And even in the cities where authorities do submit crime numbers, the FBI is still reporting lower numbers than local officials are announcing. Bottom line: the left's narrative that crime is plummeting (allegedly to 50-year lows) is dead wrong. Finally, they roll their eyes as NBC's Kelly O'Donnell lavishes praise on President Biden, saying his mere presence at the White House Correspondents Dinner is a strong defense of free speech and a free press.
