In Love with the Process | Filmmaking | Photography | Lifestyle |
So today's guest, Taylor Lewis had not idea what he was in for when he asked to be on an episode of In Love with the Process. Him and his brothers have a relentless passion for filmmaking (plus cereal and gummy candy), they love keeping their sets relaxed and believe in helping other filmmakers along the way with their online courses and filmmaking tools. Our host, Mike Pecci, has always been skeptical (borderline insane)when it comes to online film making courses and how so many companies and individuals try to make fast money off the insecurities that all young filmmakers have. When Mike heard that the Lewis brothers provide an online film making course...well he wanted to get to the bottom of it. The Lewis Brothers cut their film making teeth by lighting each other on fire and filming it in their parent's backyard. After many trips to the hospital, they knew this is what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives. Starting their production company before graduating high school, they have grown an impressive client list (Amazon, Microsoft, DJI) that has them shooting projects all around the globe. This a must listen for anyone who gets those ad's on their Instagram feed...."Want to get clients?, or What to make six figures as a filmmaker?". ---------------------- ►Course: https://www.filmcreatorpro.com/ ►Course Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/filmcreatorpro/ ►Filmmaking Guide: https://www.filmcreatorpro.com/handbook ►Company Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/atomic_city/ ►Company website: https://www.atomiccity.com/ ►Mike Pecci's IG: instagram.com/mikepecci ►ILWP's IG: instagram.com/inlovewiththeprocesspod Featuring Music by: ►BETA MAXX ►THE NEON DROID ►CODE ELEKTRO ►TURBO KNIGHT ►TONKS ---- Support the show and get a free trail at Audible: www.audibletrial.com/ILWP ---- The Episode is Sponsored by: ► Puget Systems: puget.systems/go/152340 ► Vidafair.com ► Jambox.io ► ETC: www.etcconnect.com/LoveTheProcess/ ► ILWP Sponsor Page: www.inlovewiththeprocess.com/sponsors
Taylor Lewis is just one of three brothers who have an equal part in running Atomic City, a full-service production company who have had the opportunity to have great clients such as Amazon. In this episode, Taylor shares with us how they took the initiative to create spec work and in doing so were able to develop a great relationship that led to them being able to direct a multi-million dollar project with Amazon. Jeff Bezos himself was complimenting and also requesting Atomic City on their next project. They've been able to achieve this feat simply by taking great initiative and creating work when there was no work to create simply to impress a potential client. I'm putting my actor hat back on for this episode to speak with film director and producer Taylor Lewis! Taylor and his 2 brothers own and operate Atomic City, a full-service production company based in Salt Lake City. His writers, editors, and producers cover everything from mini shoots, to full-blown multi-million dollar productions with clients like Amazon, Microsoft, and Prime Music just to name a few! In this conversation, Taylor shares what he wishes he and his brothers had done when they were first starting. We talk about what the “tipping point” was for them to go “all in” on their business, develop a unique creative voice, and attract those dream, multi-million dollar clients. This episode has so much amazing advice, like how to drum up word-of-mouth referrals, and how you can grow a successful business without much investment capital if you hone in on your unique gifts. By surrounding themselves with people who were aligned with their goals, Taylor and his brothers have grown a zero-budget film crew into a lucrative full-out production business. In this minisode, I chat about how met Seckeita Taylor Lewis, writer/director of the film Jerico. She is interviewed in episode 106 of the podcast.
Seckeita had made only one short film when she and her husband, Brandon embarked on the epic journey to make "Jerico." From "haunted" jail cells to unrelenting downpours, and a lynching scene causing panic, Seckeita had to pull all the stops to finish her film and get distribution. In episode 106, she takes us through the making of "Jerico" and her special connection to Walmart.
On episode 28 of The Fear of Science we talk about the very important but difficult subject of race with storyteller/comedian Savannah Erasmus and actor Tunji Taylor Lewis. We find out what kind of difficulties each person has faced based on their skin colour (Jeff not included).
This week on #cuppajen we are joined by the wonderful Tunji Taylor-Lewis, my fellow actor/entertainer and friend. We talk social media, experiences with rejection, and how the art of "saying yes" in improv can translate to saying yes for our business strategy. We also touch on sifting through which voices we will allow to influence our art... from the person in our audiences, to our closest friends, to God. Who do you let speak into your art? Who do you let speak into your life? Can't wait to hear what you all think, and I hope you all enjoy this week's guest as much as I always do!
