It's the easiest, simplest thing.[00:14] It's so good for you. And I'm gonna tell you exactly what it is. So relax and settle in and listen up, because your stress therapy session is about to begin.[00:39] Hey, beautiful people. It's time for some stress therapy. A podcast about how to meditate and get better at stress for people living in the real world. Finally, a place to Park.[00:48] My 25 plus years of experience of working as a psychotherapist in the mental health field. And now your host, me, the stress therapist, Sheri Flake.[01:03] Foreign.[01:13] Hey, beautiful people.[01:14] How's your beautiful self?[01:15] The Stress Therapist: Okay, so today we're going to talk about the simplest thing. It's so simple. It's easy, breezy, lemon squeezy on how to get your life to be a little bit different, a little bit better.[01:27] Help your brain be healthier, help your goals get met faster, and definitely wipe out some stress. Okay, so here's the deal.[01:37] My friend Bill O'Hanlon, I mean, this guy is a badass. First of all, not only has he written like 2,000 songs in like two years or something, like, he's something crazy.[01:45] He's written over 40 books, okay? He is a super badass friend of mine. He's great. I was certified in hypnotherapy a long time ago, and Bill O'Hanlon actually taught me the Milton Erickson sort of hypnotherapy ways, and it's far superior than what I learned first.[02:02] And he's just super smart. He does all of these great classes online. I don't know if he's still doing them because he's writing all these songs, but he. He wrote one book called Do One thing different and I'll put it in the show notes.[02:14] And I mean, my friend Bill, he hit the mother load, man. I mean, Oprah picked it up, loved it, and slam, bam, thanks, ma'am. All of it. He just hits the big time, right?[02:25] And everybody wants a little piece of this book. And what's cool about this book is he's got 40 books. He's got tons of books. I've read tons of his books.[02:32] He's a great, super smart guy. But what's great about this book is that it's very, very accessible. It's super duper simple. And, you know, I love that, right? And so what he says is the whole book is called Do One Thing different.[02:45] And I'm going to kind of summarize it here, but definitely pick it up if you want, or one of the myriad books that he has written. And what's great about this book is all he says is you start by doing exactly that one thing different.[02:56] So what does that mean? It means instead of walking in the grocery store and immediately turning right, what if you turned left? Okay. What if the next time you picked up your toothbrush, you did it with your non dominant hand?[03:12] Okay. What if you flossed before you brushed? What if you put your socks on before your pants? What if you meditated before you looked at your phone? You know what I'm saying?[03:23] Like you're just doing the littlest, teensiest, tiny thing. What if you put your right shoe on before your left shoe or whatever, whatever you normally do. What if you just changed one little thing?[03:34] Why would we do this? Why would we do this? Well, first of all, when you interrupt patterns, whether they're negative or positive or whatever, you create flexibility in your mind.[03:46] You reduce the tendency to be stuck in ruts, okay? And when you do it often enough, you enhance neuroplasticity in your brain, which means the ability for your brain to change, you can change.[03:59] It's not true. The old dogs new trick things, that stuff's not true. You can change. So your brain is super adaptable and it's constantly rewiring itself and this creates new neural connections, okay?[04:12] And then you're able to learn quicker. You get all of these cognitive benefits, these problem solving skills. You're quicker at stuff, you learn things better. It's new ways of thinking and a better mood, reduced stress, all that stuff.[04:26] Right? Okay, but what the big money idea is, let's say that you decide to do this right? And you're like, okay, I can do that. That's no big deal. I mean, I really want you.[04:33] That's your homework. You're supposed to do this. Okay? I want you to try it and tell me how you did. But let's say that you did it over and over and over again, which is often my message here about, you know, you know.[04:44] Well, there's two messages really. The idea that Bill is pointing out here is going to be clear in about a minute. But what if whatever change you made was working towards a goal that you have?[04:55] Okay, so like I just signed up for this class and it's online and I don't do good with these things. I need to
Episode Description: In this episode of What If for Authors, Claire Taylor tackles a unique fear that many authors face: being review bombed. When a coordinated effort to flood your book with negative reviews threatens to undermine all your hard work, how do you bounce back? Claire dives deep into the psychological and emotional impact of being review bombed, offering practical tools and advice to help you get through the experience if it ever happens. She explores the nature of anxiety, the importance of emotional regulation, and why trying to control others' opinions is a recipe for burnout. Claire also shares strategies for rallying support from your true fans and emphasizes the power of resilience when facing adversity as a writer. Key Takeaways: Understanding Review Bombing: Claire defines review bombing as a coordinated effort to damage your book's reputation by flooding it with negative reviews. She explains how this is different from standard negative reviews and why it's often motivated by personal agendas rather than honest feedback about your work. Regulating Your Emotions in the Moment: When blindsided by a review bomb, it's natural to have a strong emotional reaction. Claire offers a step-by-step guide on how to calm yourself, recognize the emotions as they arise, and navigate your initial response. She emphasizes the importance of relocating yourself to a peaceful place—physically and mentally—before taking any action. Co-Regulation as a Support Tool: Sometimes, self-regulation isn't enough, and you need help from others. Claire suggests finding trusted people who can help co-regulate your emotions and provide grounding during these moments of high distress. Rallying Support from True Fans: Once you've moved through the initial shock, Claire encourages reaching out to your true fans and letting them know how they can support you. This can be as simple as asking them to leave positive reviews to balance out the negativity. What NOT to Do: One of Claire's strongest pieces of advice is to avoid posting on social media during or immediately after the initial shock. She explains why this often backfires and offers tips on when—and how—to communicate effectively, if at all. Why You Should Listen: If you're an author worried about negative reviews or the potential of a review bombing campaign, this episode will provide much-needed guidance and comfort. Claire's insights will help you approach the fear of review bombing with a grounded perspective and a clear set of tools to handle the emotional fallout. Even if you never experience a full-blown review bomb, the strategies shared in this episode will help you better cope with all forms of negative feedback, so you can keep moving forward with your author career. Join the Conversation: Have you ever dealt with a negative review or an online attack? How did you handle it? Share your experiences and insights by emailing Claire at contact@ffs.media. If you need personalized support or a safe space to work through your anxiety around reviews, consider reaching out for a one-on-one coaching session. Daily, entertainment lawyers are bombarded with marketing messages that, with GenAI, we can and should be doing all our lawyering tasks at the speed of light. Entertainment lawyer Kirk Schroder talks with Heidi K. Brown, Professor and Associate Dean for Upper Level Writing at New York Law School, about giving ourselves permission to first decelerate, ease up on the throttle that's materialized in our hands, and unhurriedly practice using GenAI writing tools (and AI-driven legal research tools) to generate high-quality legal work. Professor Brown will share techniques and strategies for “shaking hands with” and introducing ourselves to these potentially transformative tools and incorporating them into our workflow in a way that does not short-change depth with velocity. (Thank you to Murali Sundaram, Executive Director, BNI Chennai for his inspiration)Have you heard the management principle what gets measured gets done?Absolutely true. In business world we need to measure and monitor all our activities thereby we will know whether we are moving in the right directionI'm Cys Bronner, Executive Director for BNI's Greater Los Angeles regions and today, I'm going to share with you one important coordinator role for every chapter called the Go Green Coordinator The Go Green Coordinator is vital for the success of every member because we all come together, and we help each other in participating in various BNI chapter activities Another job as The Go Green Coordinator is to tell all our members whether all of us are putting our efforts in the right direction - that's the reason in BNI we have created a system called traffic light system, like the traffic light has a green amber and red.In BNI we have created a very interesting Benchmark or measurement system based on traffic lights called The Power of One Report. This terrific tool tells all the members whether we are going in the right directionIf you are The Go Green Coordinator for your chapter (or maybe being considered for that role,) let me share with you what are the things that you can do before the meeting during the meeting and even after the meeting because only when you are very clear on your particular role you can actually help other members also to perform at the best possible way Number one is every month your regional office will be sharing the Traffic Light style colors in the Power of One Report of all the members. You'll want to talk to your chapter Leadership. your president will share this with you or they will ask the Regional Office to add you to the distribution list. Before the meeting get the entire data of all the members what are their scores, where are they right now. Any member more than 70 points they are in the green! Members who are between 50 to 70 are amber, or yellow if you prefer. 30 to 50 points places your referral partner in the red As those chapter members who have accumulated less than 30 based on their activities, they become Gray members Remember that, you know it's very important that once you get that report to communicate to the Mentor Coordinator and of course, individually to every member either via phone e-mail WhatsApp whichever is convenient to you maybe explain the members why becoming green is really important you know why green is important you know because if you are a green member above 70% - 70 points it means you are highly contributing member - when you contribute you actually enhance your visibility and thereby enhance your credibility you are telling every member in the chapter that you are a more responsible member ready to understand everyone's business and ready to contribute Remember our Givers Gain philosophy So being a green member is one way of exhibiting your givers gain principle to the entire chapter So maybe as a go green coordinator you have to explain the benefits of why every member must become green thereby, they can enhance their visibility and credibility and also their profitability So, talk to members. If some members are struggling to become green maybe you can break down the entire report and tell them “You know, this month just focus on adding five more points” Don't give them big numbers, give them only +5 points to add up in their score and motivate them as they move forward. You can even give them one activity to help make that happen. Do One-to-Ones with those members who areBNI4Success Podcasts The Voice of BNI Greater Los Angeles; Where we'll talk about referral networking that works!http://bnipodcast4success.com

Right now, more so than ever, it is critical for salespeople to learn how to navigate in a tight economy. On today's episode of The Sales Evangelist, our host, Donald Kelly, talks with the co-founder of DocSend, Russ Heddleston, about how to listen more, use the prospect's language, and how do ONE thing well for them. Why won't order-takers survive in a tight economy? Over the last few years, more and more order-taking roles are being pushed to automation. The role of the salesperson is changing because of the amount of competition and vendors. What can we do? Be curious and listen more Your first job is to listen and understand why you are having a conversation and how you can help your customer. Look up who you are talking to ahead of time. Russ says that very few of the salespeople he talks to have done their research ahead of time. The process will move faster if you are more patient on your first calls. Bridge the gap between value and the company's goals Companies have been through the ringer in the past year, so have empathy for your prospect. Your best bet to get them to buy is to understand their business. Understand what they are trying to solve so that you can become a partner to them. Use their own language The person you are talking to is not the only person involved in the buying decision. Even if you convince them, they need to convince everyone else in the company. To help your champion save time, recognize their language and use it so that they can turn around and explain it to their company. If you are not versed in their industry, talk to product marketing and your support team, then document it for the next person. Do ONE thing well for them Make it simple, not complicated, for why they should buy. Take all the value propositions your product has and boil it down to one thing. The discovery is key in this process so you know what is important to them. Episode resources Connect with Russ on Twitter and Linkedin. Check out DocSend here. What time would you wake up and what would your morning routine look like? How would you fuel your body and feed your mind? What bad habits would you quit and which new habits would you replace them with? Who would you try to connect more with…and equally important—- who would you disconnect from? How would you be more creative? More spiritual? What adventures would you go on? What have you been putting off that if you committed to for just 100 days might actually get done?! Here is the challenge: Each day, commit to showing up as the best version of yourself in all settings. This means... Take 10 minutes each morning and 10 minutes each evening to connect with yourself and plan your days. Do ONE thing every day that you have been putting off. Connect with one person intentionally. Add 20 extra minutes of movement to your day. T Finally, Make an effort to look good. When we look good, we feel good and when we feel good, we live better. That's it: 5 things for 100 days. Tune in and join along. Episode 16: In this episode, Molley and Chad talk with their children, Tristin and Alayna about time on the lake. Tristin made a guest appearance on the episode about The Types of Boat Food to Bring or Avoid. Today is Alayna's first time behind the microphone with us. If you're a boater, you already know how time out on the water can be special for you and your family. Let's get the kids' perspectives on those experiences. What's the First Thing that Comes to Mind? Tristin shares his thoughts about time on the lake. First, he describes his memory of jumping into the water and landing on a rock. The first-aid kit came in handy that day. Remember to always back one on your boat, just in case. Second, he talks about a getting some great air while tubing behind his grandfather's boat, which we heard about in Episode 14. Alayna talks about the first time she got up while wake-boarding. She'd tried a million times, but this time she figured it out. First Lake Memories Tristin thinks his first memory was when he was about 4 and completely wrapped up in a towel and feeling perfectly comfortable and happy. Alayna comments about the after-lunch naps. It's still her favorite thing about the lake. What Did They Dread about Coming to the Lake? While time on the lake is awesome, sometimes kiddos can see it differently, at least until they get down there. Alayna mentions having to miss some random birthday parties, but other than that, lake life has been a lot of fun. What Have They Learned about the Adults during a Day on the Lake? Tristin laughs about some of the dance moves he's seen. Alayna jokes about Molley's 40th birthday houseboat trip. Molley explains there were at least 10-12 couples between the 2 boats. In Episode 13, they explained how Travis put a hole in Molley's new mat (“Don't worry dude…”). What Is One of Their Favorite Memories? Tristin describes how it's always been the water sports for him. For Alayna, it was more swimming when she was younger. Now that she's grown up, it's really the overall experience (including the naps). Who's the Better Driver for Tubing? Tristin says it really depends on the mood of each parent. If Chad's being quiet in the morning, he wants Chad. You have to listen to the episode for the rationale on this one. Which Job Would Each of Them Pick, if They Had to Do One? Molley and Chad have always recommended picking a specific job to make the launch and trailering go smoothly. Chad always drives the truck and Molley is in charge of launching or trailering the boat. This system works for them. However, if the kids had to pick a job, which would it be? Alayna says it depends on the boat. She says for a normal boat, not a pontoon or wake boat, she'd choose launching the boat. Tristin is fine with trailering the boat. Do They Think They'll Own Their Own Boat? Tristin says yes. He would really like a 2-seater Sea-Doo to start. He'd move up to a wake boat. Alayna also wants a wake boat. Neither want the pontoon boat their parents have. What's Their Favorite Summer Weekend on the Lake? Alayna says it definitely girls weekend. For Tristin, it's all about the poker run. When they were younger, both agreed it was any weekend on the houseboat. Is There a Favorite Story about Lake Life? Tristin describes a houseboat weekend with an eclectic mix of guests, including a horse head mask. They found a nice beach cove for a beach fire. Chad describes a great time he had fishing with Alayna off the dock. Then, there was a tubing day with Tristin resulting in a great photo. Alayna describes a tubing adventure with a friend, behind on of their friend's boat. The boat definitely had some power to whip them around. She also shares some memories about crowded time at the lake house. The kiddos always ended up sleeping in the closets, because there were so many people. Speaking of adventures, the group talks about some trouble a boater ran into on the lake during a poker run. The pictures received national coverage. They may be available on Don's Lake Cumberland Lake Assist website. Alayna joke about memories of when Molley was loading the boat, in the early years. Concentration was everything! Safety First Chad comments about the importance of always having a sober driver. Boating comes with a lot of responsibility, but if safe-boating rules are followed, everyone can have a great time of on the lake. What's the Right Number of Guest at the Lake House? Tristen explains that it depends on the weekend. For him, if it's poker run weekend, bring everyone. However, if it's Memorial Day weekend, having some family time is nice. Chad admits that it's a lot of work, but he really enjoys the time on the water with family and friends. Will Molley and Chad ever Say Good-Bye to the Lake Life? Molley opens up the conversation to let the kids ask questions. This is Tristen's first question. Neither Molley or Chad ever see it going away. This is a special part of their life together. The boats may change, but not their love of being on the lake. What Are some of Molley and Chad's Favorite Memories on the Lake? Chad comments that there was more partying, before the kids came along. But, they were never that rowdy to begin with. For Molley, one of her favorite memories is when each of the kids jumped into the water by themselves for the first time. Molley describes the first time Tristin tubed alone and got some air. She knew they'd never get him out of the water. For Alayna, it was the first time she actually wanted to join in the water sports. It really got fun when the children began bringing their friends to the lake. It gave Molley and Chad the opportunity to really get to know their friends and to watch everyone interact together. Chad's favorite memory is every time the kids get super competitive on the wake boards. He loves just relaxing and having fun, especially when they achieve something for the first time. If They Won the Lottery, What Kind of Boat Would each of the Kids Buy? Alayna would buy a super, decked-out Pavati wake boat. Tristin would land somewhere in between a yacht and a houseboat. Basically, he'd pick a big cruiser. Both would expect to keep their boats on Lake Cumberland. We'd like to thank Tristin and Alayna joining us for this episode. It was a great, family episode. Creating those lake life memories are what it's all about for each of them. That's a wrap for this episode. We hope you found it helpful, insightful and maybe a little entertaining. We like to think that technology makes the world a better place and that progress moves forward in a fairly linear fashion. And yet, there are plenty of signs that show well-being does not necessarily increase along with the sophistication of technology. This idea is explored in Edward Tenner's books, the most recent being The Efficiency Paradox: What Big Data Can't Do. A sequel to his previous book, Why Things Bite Back: Technology and the Revenge of Unintended Consequences. He also just wrapped up a stint at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University and is currently a scholar at the Smithsonian. In this episode, Edward and Greg run through a number of scenarios based on revenge effects, risk associated with metrics, while factoring for human responses and serendipity.Episode Quotes:On his latest book, The Efficiency Paradox: What Big Data Can't Do:One of the arguments of my newest book, The Efficiency Paradox, is that too much efficiency in the short run makes us less efficient in the long run. And there is case after case of that, but the point of it is that very often it is the top managers who don't really take a holistic view of their enterprise and who don't understand that sometimes you really need to have more failures in order to have long-term success. The single minded pursuit of efficiency:If you focus too much on short-term metrics and short-term results, you're overlooking the needs for experimentation and failures and losses that will lead to greater long-term benefits. It's really as simple as that. Why we might want to hesitate on using metrics, in this case in publishing:For example, Moby Dick was really considered a failure. It got bad reviews at first. If there was like, an AI that was supposed to evaluate the prospects for books, it probably would have been turned down. Harry Potter was turned down by 20 publishers. And the reason for that is that a lot of extremely successful things, a lot of best-selling works are initially a little bit strange. They're different. And so people who are using experience, people who are consulting their databases will really be unable to pick up on that. Sometimes you have to put something out there and see if it works or not.Show Links:Guest Profile:Edward Tenner's WebsiteEdward Tenner on TwitterEdward Tenner on LinkedinSpeaker's Profile at TED TalkHis work:Edward Tenner's Published Essays and ArticlesThe Efficiency Paradox: What Big Data Can't DoOur Own Devices: The Past and Future of Body TechnologyWhy Things Bite Back: Technology and the Revenge of Unintended Consequences

Over the last week there has been lots of racist slurs, abuse and offensive comments at three young iconic English Football players. The tirade of abuse upset, angered and distraught many; but what has been more disturbing is those who remained silent or let the abuse continue or even instigated in the first place! I discuss my admiration for these ‘3 Lions' who represent the Multi-Cultural England we live in and raise a toast to seeing more talented and committed young males do more for our society and world than sadly the politicians who are in charge of running our country! Big respect to: Marcus Rutherford MBE, Bukayo Saka and Jason Sancho. Racism needs to 0-1-2-1 DO ONE!

Only 26% of Americans know there are 3 branches of government. Many states don't require classes about civics to be a graduation requirement. As a result, millions of teens aren't educated about the Constitution, how government works, or their fundamental rights. This will have lasting impacts. Did you know that over 600 million people lack access to clean water? Or that waterborne diseases kill more people than AIDS, malaria, and world violence combined? Most people don't know this, because the water crisis doesn’t get very much attention. So this week, in an effort to spread more awareness, I talked with TJ about the Thirst Project and what would happen if all the world had clean water. And of course, how GenZ can help. Tons of people are camped outside of Delhi, India. And international media has barely covered it. Why? They're protesting 3 bills that strip protections away from farmers and change the country's agriculture system. The farmers have had to contend with violence from law enforcement and harsh conditions, but they haven't given up. This week, in order to raise awareness, I talked with Manseerat about these bills, the protests, and what we can do to help. www.valerielavignelife.com/103 for the full show notes! [00:52] It's us crazy humans who like to complicate things. I am totally guilty of it, don't you worry. The good news is, in today's episode I am going through each of your biggest struggles when it comes to healthy habits so that you can finally overcome them! Before we dive in, take a moment to think about some of your struggles when it comes to healthy habits. Where do you get stuck? What excuses do you make? What's holding you back? Got them? Okay. If I don't talk about your biggest struggle, please send me a dm on instagram @vallavignelife and/or let me know in the comments section below so that I can better support you in overcoming this struggle! Struggle No.1: Consistency [1:52] The first one we're going to talk about today, is the one I hear about the most: CONSISTENCY. eDo you have a hard time keeping up with your fitness plan? Or healthy eating? Maybe you want to meditate each day but you hit snooze in the mornings instead? This is actually such a popular question/topic that I have an entire episode dedicated to it: E78: How to Stay Consistent with Your Wellness Here's where to start and be more consistent with your healthy habits: start with ONE habit. Just one. When you've decided what that habit should be, ask yourself: “What do I have to do before this can be done?” For example, let's say you decide homemade lunches during the week is your one goal. You're tired of spending money every day on lunches that aren't very satisfying. Before you can make lunches for the week, you have to go grocery shopping for food. You also have to figure out what you're going to eat for lunch. Therefore, before we can start our habit of homemade lunch we have two things we must do first. Now that you know the answer to this question, you can begin to prepare for your success! Take a look at your calendar or planner and schedule in your grocery shopping AND meal prepping. Then, right here and now I want o to plan out your meals for the week. Don't panic, it doesn't have to be scary… in fact, let your homemade lunches be EASY! My boyfriend and I make our lunch for the next day every evening before, while we're making dinner. Most of the time we make extra dinner and eat the extra for lunch the next day. We keep things SUPER SIMPLE: One vegetable or our usually salad mixture + a serving of meat. We each like different snacks, so we will pack those also. TAKEAWAY: Knowing your goal/habit is great, now get even more clear and figure out what you need to do BEFORE you can do your habit. There is usually one or two things you need to do before to set yourself up for success. Struggle No.2: Complicated [4:36] I hinted to this second struggle a little bit, which is that we make it TOO COMPLICATED, or we OVER COMPLICATE our healthy habit/goal. Again, I'm guilty of this! Sometimes I hear about other people's amazing daily meditation practices, or their incredibly tranquil and relaxing evening routines. I think of all the wonderful things I'd like to do before bed, like have an epsom salt bath surrounded by all the candles in the house, or meditate with my essential oils, or perhaps a 30 minute journaling and oracle card pulling. And guess what, I've never-ever had an evening routine exactly like that because it's WAY TOO different and complicated from what I'm doing now. I'm not saying it isn't possible, because it absolutely is. I'm saying that if you're not already doing 4/5 of those things, don't try to recreate your evening routine in this complicated way, because when we can't even do our goal or habit for a few days in a row, we become very discouraged and unmotivated to continue or to try something different. Okay so, how do we simplify? We choose ONE habit, and then we ask, how can we break this down more? Let's say you want to start working out again. You used to workout 5 days a week… but lately you've been spending more time on the couch than at the gym. Instead of saying, I'm going to workout 4-5 times a day, let's simply. Look at your calendar and see where you can realistically schedule in A SINGLE WORKOUT FOR THE WEEK? You see that Monday late more there is an opportunity for you to workout. Schedule your workout into your calendar/planner. Do ONE workout this week. Yes ONE. ANYONE can do one workout, right? And so can you! And get this… if you can't do your workout on the Monday, look where else you can fit your ONE workout in. It's a lot harder to make excuses for one workout a week than it is for five. ALSO, if you do a workout on Monday, and then also get another workout in on Wednesday, you've just exceeded your weekly goal. The following week I encourage you to work your way up to twice a week. And so on and so forth. Build on this one habit. As you build the habit, you are also starting to build your self-trust and your self-confidence. Which will support your consistency. Struggle No.3: Negative Self-Talk [7:36] The third struggle when it comes to healthy habits is negative self-talk and limiting beliefs. Let me tell you right now, this is one of the most painful and limiting blocks of all, and sometimes we aren't even aware of it. Believing you are WORTHY, knowing in your heart that you are ENOUGH, that you are DESERVING of self-love, self-care, a healthy and happy life is one of the greatest gifts we can give to ourselves. Here's where to start: Think of how you want to feel. What is the word that describes how you want to feel? Now think about a time when you've felt that way in the past. Where were you? Who were you with? What were you doing? Seeing? Smelling? Tasting? You can really get a lot out of this exercise when you take some time to do it. I always enjoy journaling through this. When you've found the answers to these questions, you'll have more information about what lights you up and brings you into alignment with how you want to feel. Even though you might not be able to recreate the exact memory or moment, you can brainstorm ways to bring that feeling into your every-day life. Maybe your goal is to feel calm, because during your remembering you were brought back to a lovely yoga retreat you were on. You loved the morning yoga practice, the delicious food that was made for you, the calming music, the no screen time, and the lavender essential oil you could smell. You were surrounded by like-minded people and the sun was always shining. Realistically we don't live at that yoga retreat every day, but we can pull parts of the retreat into our daily healthy habits to help us connect to the feeling we want. Here are some simple habits based off this example: Morning yoga practice (can be anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes) Scheduling a date night with your partner or a friend each week where you can enjoy the food and each others company Setting aside time every day to turn off your screens and be more present, or use that time to go for a walk around the block Take a few deep breaths of lavender essential oil, or diffusing lavender as you work or before bed each night. Healthy can be simple, and you my darling are WORTHY of feeling good. Struggle No.4: It's too expensive to be healthy [12:22] As a wellness educator I often hear this excuse or struggle when it comes to healthy habits: “it's too expensive to be healthy” WRONG. For a few reasons, the first is that there are so many free resources you can use and take advantage of to incorporate into your daily lifestyle and routine. From online workout videos, to free meal plan downloads, to free coaching calls, to mediation apps, and so much more. Another reason why this is false is because you will end up paying for your health one way or another. Therefore, you can either choose to invest in preventative health so that you live a high quality life of feeling good, and striving for balance. OR you can pay for the prescriptions, appointments, and hospitality for when your body can't take care of itself anymore. If hearing that is a bit of a wake up call for you, I think you know your next move. Invest in ONE area of your health today. Remember that we're not trying to change our entire lifestyle overnight and the goal isn't to become a super healthy person who no longer eats a, b, c, or x, y, and z. And never goes on social media and only eats out once a week, etc. etc. Being a healthy human is about feeling good and loving our bodies. Struggle No.5: Don't have time [14:39] Now let's wrap this no excuses episode up with our final struggle when it comes to healthy habits, there is no time. Heck there's never any time. Between the job, and the kids, and the content creation, and the commuting, and the living out the lives we already have - how on earth are we supposed to get anything done let alone add in a new habit!? We make time for what is important to us. We can ALWAYS make time. We prioritize our time and if your healthy habit isn't a priority, it isn't going to get done. I'll never forget an example I heard, and I think it was on a podcast but I can't remember which one. They were talking about how we always say we're busy or we can't do something because we don't have time. The example was when we're working at our computer from home and our kid comes in and says “mom can you play with me?” and we say, “not now hunny I'm busy” But if our kid came in with a pair of scissors stuck in their bleeding arm and said “mom can you help me?” you better forking help that child right away and I know you will not be brushing them in that moment. What changed? The priority changed. Playing with your kid wasn't a priority, your kid's health was. It's a bit of a graphic example but I will never forget it and it really made me think about what was important to me, what I was making time for. If you aren't really sure where your priorities are, I would highly recommend tracking how you spend your day. It's as simple as grabbing a pen and a notebook and writing down the time, what you did during that time and how long it took you. As an example: 7:00 am woke up, checked emails and instagram, 30 minutes 7:30 am showered, brushed teeth, 15 minutes 7:45 am made coffee, caught up on the news, 20 minutes Right away you can see that you've been on your phone for almost an hour that morning. Do you need to be on emails, instagram, and the news right away? Definitely not. Cut it down, cut it out, or reschedule it to make a more “health” or “heart-centred” morning routine. Alright my dear. I know some of what I said today might have felt a bit tough to digest. Maybe it felt a little too close to home. And maybe there are other things going on in your life that I don't know about that are the reason why you aren't making moves forward for your healthy habit. Here's what I do know. I know that you are enough, and that incorporating a healthy habit into your life will help you be the better, daughter, mother, teacher, sister, partner, and human. I know that getting out of your own way can be really hard to do. I also know that when we get out of our own way, when we go for our goals and dreams, we can move mountains. No more excuses, and no time like the present! Let me support you and hold you accountable! Reach out on instagram @vallavignelife or in the comments section below tell me your habit, tell me your struggle, let's do this together.

13. What's Behind A Popular Talk, and Why You (Probably) Shouldn't Do One with César Gómez-Mora Are TED (and TEDx) talks exactly as you see them online? Who should give a talk - and who shouldn't? What would public speaking look like if you could make PowerPoint fun? Welcome to The StoryPowers Podcast, the show about the power of stories, the people who tell them and why you should be doing it too. I'm your host Francisco Mahfuz. My guest today is César Gómez-Mora, one of the Godfathers of public speaking in Spain. César organises both TEDx and Ignite events in Valencia, where he also coaches most of the participating speakers. César runs his own coaching company, saving the world from boring presentations one speech at a time. He was also a National Champion of Public Speaking. Luckily for me, he mostly competed in Spanish, or I'd probably have a few less wins to brag about. You can find César at fourthwall.es. If you like the show, please leave us a review, share it and SUBSCRIBE! The support is very much appreciated. And please send me your comments on what you'd like to hear on future episodes. I'm a keynote speaker on storytelling, author and public speaking coach. You can connect with me on LinkedIn, where I post daily (or as close to that as my children will let me), and on storypowers.com. You can also check out my book "Bare: A Guide to Brutally Honest Public Speaking" on Amazon. Show Notes A couple of clarifications: TED is the main event, which happens typically once or twice a year (usually in Vancouver). Most of the famous talks you think of as TED talks come from those events. TEDx are essentially franchise events organised by volunteers all around the world, which have to follow strict guidelines set up by TED. There are thousands of these a year, but only a very select few are promoted by the main TED website, ted.com. You can only give a TED talk if you're invited to so so, whereas it's a lot easier (but not easy) to do a TEDx talk. Toastmasters International is the largest organisation of public speaking in the world, with thousands of clubs all over the place. If someone calls themselves a "Champion of Public Speaking" (as I do) what they usually means is that they won't a Toastmaster competition at either national or international level. DJ LaBelle-Klein makes his triumphant return to the podcast to talk with me about the pilot to TNT's Rizzoli & Isles, "See One, Do One, Teach One".
Here's how to get leverage over the handful of things you truly have control over in MLM… WORKING MORE HOURS DOES NOT EQUAL MORE LEVERAGE I remember... (this very clear lesson for me)... When I worked at ClickFunnels, I was sitting two feet from Russell’s desk. He was coaching a whole bunch of people in his inner circle and his programs. I did EVERYTHING I could to take notes, sitting next to a genius like THAT. I'd be working super hard to get all my stuff done, but I also was listening on his calls because he was RIGHT THERE. I would just type notes on my computer when he would say stuff. Kind of like a listening ear while I was still doing my work. There was a thing that he taught me once and it was very prolific. Some of you guys might be like, "Well duh Stephen", but I don't think most people ACTUALLY understand this. Last night, my wife and I were talking about the interesting scenario of this. We're in a place right now where, personally, I'm working a lot but the revenue has been the exact same for eight months. What does that tell you? I was speaking at an event last week and I said, "Everyone here knows you have to work hard. Right? And everyone knows that in order to make a lot of money you have to work hard. Right?" And I said, "Is that true?" I said, "Who here, in this room, is working hard?" Everyone raised their hand up and I said, "Now keep your hand up if you are a multimillionaire, filthy rich beyond your dreams". All the hands went down. I said, "That's interesting. It's not about working harder". IT’S ALL ABOUT GAINING LEVERAGE Last night, my wife and I were talking about that and I was like, "How fascinating is it that it's no longer about me working harder or more hours? It is not about that anymore. It is actually more about gaining leverage, Right?" That's the same thing that I had learned sitting next to Russell. What he said was... Going from six to seven figures is not about working more hours in the day. It is about gaining leverage. I'm not going to lie to you, at the beginning of last year, I was working 12 to 15 hours a day, EVERY DAY. There wasn't a break and it's so I could get my THING out the door. I killed myself over it for three or four months. After that, I was able to back off. I don't do that at all anymore. The thing that has changed the most is leverage. Think about this… What do you own in MLM? NOTHING! You don't own the product, you have no control over commissions and even your position. I'm not trying to scare anybody, but it's the reality of it. We call it the Thanos snap. One snap and your position could be gone. Again, not trying to freak anybody out, but that's the reality of MLM. You are a commission based salesman who's trying to gain commissions on other salesmen that you brought in. That's basically it. THE EASIEST WAY TO GAIN LEVERAGE One of the easiest ways for me to gain leverage is by owning something... How do you do that in an area where you don't own anything? Can I move a mountain? No, no, no, no, no, no, I really can't. But if I have a rock and a MASSIVE stick, I actually could move a mountain with the correct amount of leverage. Leverage is what it's all about. Leverage means that while I'm sleeping, there are people on my team, on the other side of the world, that are getting stuff done. It means that I can create these podcast episodes that NEVER leave the Internet and we repurposed these to about 22 different platforms all across the Internet. Why do I do that? Leverage. I did an episode a little while ago called The Three Costs. There are three types of costs in MLM, and that's the reason why I do these episodes and I walked through that. You need to know the three different kinds of costs and be careful of the one you're willing to spend. The three different kinds of resources. But understand, I'm trying to gain leverage and leverage as much as possible. Now, how do I do that when I don't own something. I'm still trying to move a mountain. I don't even own the stick that I got to push to move the mountain in MLM. I'm going to go back to what I believe are the three things that you do control in MLM, if you choose to. If you don't want this to just be a hobby, you've got to learn how to be a marketer and a businessman or woman. I beg you to not treat this like a hobby. You're not gonna make any money. WHAT CAN YOU CONTROL IN MLM? There are things that I can control in any business. There's a few things I can't in MLM...That's okay because I can control the rest of them. The three core things that I have a lot of control over are: WHO I’m approaching - Your DREAM customer HOW you approach them - your pitch and scripts ONBOARDING LEVERAGE YOUR DREAM CUSTOMER I most likely am NOT going to find my dream who in a MALL. There, I said it. I am most likely NOT going to find my dream recruit in a hotel lobby. I want people who are busy doing things in their lives. SCRIPTS THAT GIVE YOU LEVERAGE The second thing that I can control is HOW I approached people with my pitch and my script. Now that might seem small but what I do is I create a recruiting offer. It’s not only HOW I approached them, it's HOW I allow them into my downline. I allowed them into my downline. I don't make it so anyone can just join me willy nilly. In the last two weeks, I had 50 people join my downline. I sell a supplement in our MLM but I don't understand how it works. I know that it works and I know that it is good for me, so I take it. Me understanding the product, is not going to cause cash. What's going to cause cash is me creating leads. I'm going to go and create leads with the dream WHO. There's a lot of methods to finding my dream WHO. I need a lot of leads. A business without leads dies. Any business. This is a business and if you don't treat it like that, you're going to approach your friends and family, who are not interested. Then when they're gone, you won't have leads and your business will die. LEVERAGE ONBOARDING TRAINING Number three is how I onboard and train people. It is the relationship that I have with my people and those that I've recruited. Now what's interesting about that is, it means I can control the information that they get. I can set precedence on how they behave in my downline, the systems and the tools that they use. There are ways I can gain more leverage to get more leads. There are ways I can gain more leverage to make my recruiting offer sexier than everybody else's so people join me instead of everyone else. You gotta ask yourself, “How do I create leverage?”. Understand that the purchase is not over when someone swipes their card. The purchase is over once somebody can justify their purchase in front of their relationships. That's when a purchase is over. People are gonna walk out and they're going to say things like, "Hey, why did you do that thing?" And they're going to have to save face. “Well, it was buy one off or buy one get one free”, or “It was on sale”, or “I don't know, I just kind of like it”. They need to be able to save face and save status in front of their loved ones. What I need to do is, I need to arm those I recruit with the tools they need in order to succeed and be able to go in and have that conversation and justify their decision in front of their loved ones. You guys go to HackMLM.com. HackMLM.com is a program I developed, it's the training I give my downline. GIVE YOUR MLM DOWNLINE LEVERAGE It's actually the fulfillment of my recruiting offer. Remember I had that recruiting offer, "Why should you join me over somebody else?" Well, because I'm gonna give you X, Y and Z. They're like, "Wow", that causes desire, then they come and they join me. The Hack MLM program is how I automated the training and onboarding of those I recruit. I'm getting a little bit deep into this, but I hope you understand. There's a very specific principle that I want to teach you… It's leverage. I want to teach you how we did it and it's already been a cool, positive thing. Hack MLM has been out for a bit (quite awhile by the time this episode goes out). What we did is, we had a whole bunch of training… We said, "Hey, week #1 we're going to teach you how to set up your back office so that you can get paid". It's all the normal stuff that anyone would teach but it's broken into seven days and it's just dripped out to them with very simple tasks. #2 We talk a lot about the bonuses that they probably didn't know are available to them. #3 We start teaching and talking to them about how to auto recruit and we give them prebuilt funnels. The same one that I use to recruit my people with. #4 We talk about traffic and evergreen styles of traffics to fuel that. Now they have an automated system for leads, which is exactly what I've been doing for the last year and a half now. We just crossed 1100 applications for my personal downline. That's huge! This is a FREE program. You go to HackMLM.com, right now, that's what it is. DOWNLINE TRAINING IS HUGE LEVERAGE What we wanted to do though is to gain more leverage for those who join our downline and get their team trained through this also. I want to do the heavy lifting on it and that's why I created it. Some you guys might know, I'm a funnel builder. I'm a marketer. We have additional training on publishing. Frankly, just to be honest with you guys, if you just publish and send people to a recruiting funnel, you're gonna recruit more people than 99% of those who are above you. I have a lot of leverage in the MLM space right now because not many people publish. We have the guy who blew up Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift's first agent. He came in and he filmed a course specifically for my team. “Hey, here's what I did on social media. Here's how it works, here's how you can pull it off as well. Do One, two and three, it's a checklist. Here it is, do this, do that, do this, do that" and that's how he exploded Taylor Swift as her first agent. His name's Rick Barker. He's a beast. That’s the kind of leverage I offer for people to join my team. “Hey, we get this specific training and there's a bunch of this right in here also.” One of the best Instagram people on the planet, he's come in. One of the best Chatbot people on the planet, he's coming and he's taught a portion of it. I brought in a lot of the who's who. That's not being taught in MLM. TRADITIONAL MLM’S DON’T TEACH YOU HOW TO GAIN LEVERAGE Anyone can go in for FREE and check that out, but it's a recruiting tool for me. I turned it into a recruiting tool by locking it for only those who are in my downline get it. Because it's really sexy and frankly, I should be charging for it. I would charge $1,000 just for that. We did is we locked it, then those in my downline are the only ones who can give away. All the things about: How to make publishing easy and automated The really simple things with the Rick Barker and the Taylor Swift training All that's locked. It's only for my downline. When I first started, I was like, "There's no secrets. Everyone's just teaching and sharing and it's awesome". NO, that's not true at all. There are definitely secrets. This is how I created leverage for them. They're going in and setting this stuff up. Now they have a recruiting funnel and all these cool things. I gave them this cool code that's only known by those who are in our downline. They send their people through this training so that they learn about the bonuses and the back office and the recruiting funnel. I'm teaching them how to create a recruiting offer and all that kind of stuff. Then we say, "Hey, when you're ready for it, here's the code and it will unlock". It's very hush hush. That's the other way we created leverage. Now what did that just do? It raised the desirable-ness of my downline. HOW I CREATE LEVERAGE IN MLM What's cool about it is now my down line is even more tight-knit. It's very inner-circle feeling and hush hush. That's what we just did and I'm excited about it. I don't care what MLM you're in. I'm trying to change the industry as a whole and teach everyone that there's way better ways to do this. You don’t have to walk around talking to aimless people. That's dumb in my opinion. Figure out how to create leverage. Am I creating leverage in my business by: Automating my leads Having additional bonuses people get when they join my downline Making people APPLY to join my downline Having the Hack MLM onboarding program Treat this like a business, not like a hobby. You're not gonna make any money if you treat this like a hobby. If you want to check it out, you can. Just go to hackmlm.com and check it out. A lot of this is built in ClickFunnels, which is totally cool. If you're like "I don't wanna pay for ClickFunnels!" then be prepared to hire a tech team. Hopefully you liked the blog - Remember to leave me your comments. Like you, I love MLM. It’s a long term asset that can pay anyone for life… As long as they build it right. If you’ve recruited anyone EVER, you know that the recruits first 30 days are their most crucial. It sets their pace. To create the right tone for my new recruits career, I created a 30 day onboarding training that walks my new recruits through things like, how to: Set up their back office Get bonuses Set up my teams recruiting funnels Get internet traffic How to close leads Here’s why I’m telling you this. If you want to be a fly on the wall and see how I train my new people, you’re more than welcome. Chris Husong is a market expert in the hemp industry. Accounting for the challenges of public perception, legal challenges, and the burdens of science to prove the claims for hemp benefits have all shaped the climate in which hemp is used today. Born in Texas, Chris moved with his parents a few times throughout the country, studied theology in California, worked in finance and telecom, and after confronting his own biases, discovered that the hemp industry needed legitimatization. Teaching the skeptics, directing messaging for correct use, and ultimately using education as the chosen tool for sales, Chris shared with GCP why the truth behind hemp is the only way to properly build its acceptance.https://elixinol.comFacebook: @Elixinol https://www.facebook.com/elixinol/LinkedIn: @Elixinol https://www.linkedin.com/company/elixinol/Twitter: @ElixinolCBD parts store's loss was last minimum three exclusions apply conference 10 3119 well it's a gut check project this is episode number eight project we check our egos at the door and they get your health in check I'm here with your host Dr. Kenneth Brown I'm Eric Rieger Doug Brown I doing today I'm doing fantastic episode number eight holy cow I feel like we have the words flying through these episodes every time we come always a better guess today is no exception at all this is gonna be really exciting now is to be very exciting is your mind when you said episode number eight remember that show it is enough I don't want that to be the theme as well as Rabbi and it won't be today she was incredibly excited we have on today Christian song long term market experience within the hemp industry and he has me setting it is getting an incredible tale of coming from a world of high regulation in telecom and in banking and basically what the hemp industry means to America he's got lots of interaction stories and what it takes to make people understand the importance of hemp and how to accept the message of me what did you can you gather out of that amine Christmas we met at first two years ago yeah so my my initial meeting of Christmas two years ago that's we told the story before will repel your facts right and I walked by the lexical booth and another salesperson other than marketing person Christine Thiel grab me and the thing I remember most about that is Dave Christine and Chris all super tall like this is a really tall child apparently hip will make you taller I know you call me someone will be involved with that company so we could do some real basketball or something you know join the election all basketball team what you honestly if you're in listening to get your project today if you've ever wondered about hey look at him is new to me and I'm not really sure what to think that's that's okay today's episode is really kind incredible as Chris can walk through what it's like to to not just look at Hampton say minutes taboo that's taboo it's okay so many people started there and he's got a lot of experience in helping people understand the benefits behind him and what he can do to change their lives for what I love about this is that he comes from these industries are so regulated and she had to transform that into an industry that is so misunderstood you know when you look at that you look at his bio he only looks on website it says it is skilled in helping people and companies overcome their psychological creative and strategic barriers so that they can achieve the professional personal and creative goals so more than just be the chief marketing officer this guys can be my life coach break through all those barriers yet when Ken and Chris Chris's got a lot of a lot of expense he actually went to theological theology school in not in California but were to talk about that for sure yes that means because just think about the transition nearly everything he's gone through in and of course and he's either great guy can't wait from to join the show hit the bottom of the hour course that they were have KPD KB MD's corner where basically Dr. Brown will die do like he's been doing the last seven shows in address some recent research topics and get tiny previews about what to talk about your two minutes yeah so what we always like to do is try to have a bootable format here so everyone knows what to get it into the show so we know we have a fantastic guest I also want to talk about some recent science it's out there so we have forcefully graduate student that helps us out and she sent a really cool article about ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease the same disease that killed Stephen Hawking right I have a very personal tide of this because when my good friends Dr. Russell Veronica in San Antonio a gastroenterologist that I've trained with and with medical school with his father unfortunately passed away of this so I saw this article which to my knowledge the first one that actually looks at ALS and CBD ties in perfectly because we have Christmas song near chief marketing officer now we can't make disease claims what we can say is look it may help some of these different diseases where there really is no treatment and this is a really cool study that I wanted didn't and it's also even said that because today shows can be so incredible and that the way we learn how to balance real information and what we can legally say as a marketing person and then what the consumer can do with both of these angles to kind of piece these puzzles together much like the episode we had last time in stem cell oh yeah you know this fascinating cool stuff you like why don't more people know about this will Chris has to deal with that every day is like no we can say this we can't say this oh my goodness yes is be fantastic if we did this but we have to do it this way because his background I think is a perfect background coming from the super regulated industry to an area that is so gray that you really need somebody very disciplined like him to sort of take the reins and that's why think election all such unique company yet without question let's get some of the paying the bills out of the way and first off the bat love my tummy.com/spoony what could that be in reference to well I believe you're talking about my baby trying to I am trying to so we talk about how our transit was initially developed for bloating and digestive issues change in bowel habits abdominal discomfort what I am seeing a whole lot of which is really cool really getting into this practice of just coming up in the next few weeks that are professional triathletes we have different bodybuilders and things like that that we have slated to come in one of the things we do realize is that the polyphenols in trying to actually increase blood flow to the muscles so that you can have better performance in just about everything so the polyphenols go to your: where your own colonic archer will break them down into anti-inflammatory and basically antioxidant species so that you can recover from workouts and you can actually increase blood flow so not only is it good for bloating but I encourage everyone to go to love my Tommy.com/spoony put in the spooning code SP 00 NY and get 10% off I just answered you did bring up athlete hotrod teal is the only NSF certified for sport product out there indicated for bloating what is it me so if something is NSF certified for sport specifically it means that 1/3 party the NSF foundation has taken the product and they made certain that everything you mark on your package is truthful date they can be backed up that the claims that you have for your studies are verified and that every single product it makes up the composite award the product itself is clean if you're an athlete you don't have to worry that something you and a girl you're going to take with the NSF certified for sport moniker on it might contaminate a sample or might not do exactly what the ad the labeling says so NSF certified for sport is the same thing that Richard dietitians there with MLB NFL NCAA Olympics Olympics they look for that little mark to make certain that when they recommend a supplement or an over-the-counter supplement or aid to their athletes that it's on there so they know that it's a it's a clean product and John Teal features that endorsement that's also because a lot of companies don't have that we pay to play for that eventually I think that what we should have is a KB MD endorsement over here was just means that we like the product to say absolutely right some quick follow-up from from my last week show one of the coolest things as people began to take in Dr. Wade McCann as if he didn't check out episode seven go back and listen last week if you have any questions about stem cells the future stem cells what it's like to market stem cells in this FDA over regulating environment even know you have truth in your hands go back and listen episode seven but once Wade McKenna finished his his episode all week we received email I even got texts stem cells are good for hair growth stem cells can actually help me with my sciatica that I've been dealing with for a few years it's amazing what people don't know about stem cells and then how many people said I thought whenever I used quote unquote cord blood that I was using stem cells and it turns out that you're just not so anyway last week's feedback to getting feedback from last week I got a ton of feedback I actually got a ton of feedback people were I got a lot of calls people wanted to go I think a lot of people actually call me how to actually get into Dr. Wade McKenna's practice of which I think is also because when we have some real like that they can make it make a difference I mean when I sit there and think about this we are completely under utilizing everybody with analysts on the show so far photo bio modulation stem cells once you get into the science you like wow the site speaks for itself much like CBD yes science much like outrun to the science hold its own yeah and that's a cool sinks within a marketing gimmick it's none of this and that's what Chris is going talk about how do you how to stay above how do you stay above the bar where everybody else is trying to play a marketing game and usually want to get out there and help people that's remarkable whenever you look back and you does mention it photo by modulation with James Carroll and talking about stem cells last week with the Dr. McKennitt the parallels that were running here with the CBD industry or hemp industry and what the FDA basically is doing because the FDA is it it it playing all three of those we got truth and results so true and you just can't cannot see it's crazy but anyhow if and you can always go back and check any of our previous episodes you can always go to iTunes and search for gut check project so be sure to subscribe and share with the print so speaking of share with a friend sought a shout out and we need a little help from our audience here only give a shout out to share there as well that we are always here in the Sony studio you can always listen live it spoony.com so smutty.com iTunes get check project YouTube gadget project thank you so much subscribe and share so Dr. Brown let's head into KPMG corner what's on the corner today well let's talk a little bit about some personal stuff start this is kind of interesting I'm a little bit embarrassed about this what you know how when sometimes it's too close to you and you don't know what's going on well my mom unfortunately she fell hurt her shoulder about three months ago and she's been rehabbing Kent and I was just talking to her and I just went oh my gosh did I not send you CBD that are not and she owes no I don't know you know I tried something like that some hemp oil what she tried screws that endure anything else like okay let me send you something so I sent her some bottles with some vitamin D and sufficient oil because I believe in using these fatty acids to really help brain information in such large Dr. couple days ago and she was post be doing three more months of rehab and she goes okay and it's so exciting I don't have to go to rehab anymore my shoulder feels great it actually back to normal this is after you sent everything this is after center about two weeks of using the CBD and so she's Artie on trunk Hill always has been for quite a while but so after sending the CBD and now embarrassed because I'm like oh my gosh my own mom herself and that would be something owed to the patient immediately you just forget when it's too close and then my sister who's actually black belt in aikido and she's always been yourself open to students rose to banged up my mom gave her a bottle and she just texted me this morning said oh my gosh that works so well the key to this Morgan talk about this with Chris that there are differences in different types of CBD and what is out there how you market so my personal story is sorry mama should be given to to three months ago just was too close to it we got so much stuff going on and you know fortunately better late than never she's doing great yeah I know that's a it's of these brothers, interesting so you said in another we can touch on Chris but when James was on James Carroll from outdoor laser he talked about imitators right and then last week with the with Dr. Wade mechanically talked about imitators or people that don't administer stem cells appropriately or may not actually even be utilizing stem cells but saying that they are or putting in chemicals that will destroy destroy those that are not probably not to their own fault I just don't know enough about it because the reality is we talked about this is CBD industry and I'm I tell my patients this I said I would get into a loop of the science would explain a little bit we have this new brochure that explains a little bit and we get into the fact of what your end or cannabinoid system is how it links the nervous system and the immune system put you back in balance that is so simplistic because the reality is were going to see a field of medicine called Endo Kanab analogy and your Genesee specialist called Endo Canavan allergist's share I'm convinced of it sure any of you have a hepatology ST have the endocrinologists there is actually no reason why you would have an Indo Campanella just as we begin to learn more that CBD absolutely totally agree right it's about you anything going on in the personal life personal life at the boys I mean honestly the boys are doing great. During off-season basketball who ended up I know that seems like add the theme but that's that's really what they're into but I did go shoot with my youngest earlier this week and I learned that dad dad is the worst basketball player in the household now Matt can drain from all points of the court I'm just I'm no match anymore there faster than I am and now that he's basically 6 foot tall and 15 and gauges about 61 now in 1730 I just not much I can do with with either one of them so very much dominate brain I headed down to Kaleo FX this week though oh that's right you want one of my favorite conferences to be great conference it's a chemist think that immediate which is so busy just to go this week will unfortunately I have to go to Newark New Jersey and film a national commercial for archer until Roger entails time to take out her until the next level were to be doing some national commercial so I would love it really affects would love to be helping out at the election all booth pate BMD CBD booth trash and talk about trying to learn the on the entourage effect without an CBD but I don't fly up to New York in the true commercial which I'm a little bit nervous about the Wilson estate bowing on the head Keith Michelle Noris tune into your commercial as soon as it airs big shot today and they are the one to put on file with X they do a great job if you never been that appealing effects in Austin Texas it is what's your time you going to be introduced to a bunch of different things that could probably change her health and that's how we found CBD out and say I'm very partial to pill effects last year I give a talk and one over really well talked a lot of people had to be able to get their books it was really exciting you just it just fun to see a like-minded community I did the mojo 50 show this morning we're talking about sugar and the paler community does not really eat M&Ms those guys do M&M tasting Delphi lot M&Ms of failure effect listen if you have M&Ms you to balance it out with much until Fisher 100% totally so yeah you just have a great time hello effects I will make you feel better about you not been know to beat your sons because the only person that can warm Lucas up is my daughter Carla because both my wife and I are incapable of even even hit the ball back against those guys don't know probably know why it's super humiliating I I feel memo Mike is it embarrassing that the youngest person in the family is the only person I can warm Osama before matches and vice versa they want each other up it's really cool that's get down so I'd have any hits on the on the corner before Chris joins us will I do want to bring up one thing here I will bring up an article I was try to bring up one article to talk about just now woman talk about marketing Christmas songs it's about marketing a lot of people look at the big deal I want to tell everyone about this and so on I really like to look at disease specific states And the article that we can achieve that in the beginning here is an article related to the meta-analysis was published in the Journal of neurochemistry here this year just couple months ago and what it looked at is it did a meta-analysis which is a compilation of studies usually meta-analysis I have in the scientific literature are considered to be more robust picture taking a lot of studies putting them together and this is looking at ALS known as anti-atrophic lateral sclerosis Lou Gehrig's disease is a devastating disease and as I had mentioned earlier it actually took the life of my good friend Dr. Russ of Ron Ike whose guesser Alderson San Antonio and we actually saw his dad his father correct we actually saw this progressive disease and that's the deal about ALS eight what it does is if you're unaware of it I find it to be one of the most devastating diseases out there there's a book called Tuesdays with Maury that I read back many years ago they commit a movie about it also censures about the progress the progression of ALS and somebody that where there is a caregiver helping them out and you get a feeling about how it just slowly chips away and what it does this damages the nerves that control muscles so over time all of your muscles weaken to the point where they cannot contract eventually hitting the diaphragm so you can't read you lose the ability to speak because you can't control your tongue you lose the ability fine motor movement changes first because the small muscles go and you can't button things and it is just a debilitating but you keep your mind eventually you have some mind changes and they don't really understand why it is they believe there's a small genetic component but really what it is it's an excitatory issue with the nerves releasing too many of certain chemicals that eventually do not allow the do not allow the muscle to contract on the words and try to sting like muscle doesn't work so this was quite a while ago I've been in practice for 17 years Russ and I with both med school and fellowship together it was during residency so were talking 27 years ago 25 years ago I do know anything about CBD fat I know they must be in touch two years ago so this study came out red actually showed that they looked at mice and they looked at their ability to travel distance they looked at their grip strength that she put them through some sort of little American ninja course where they had them hang upside down on the net so like a Jacob's ladder, it was it was it was really it was fascinating that I made a run a wheel what they did is they they actually looked at those that had that were given CBD and those that were the control group and what they showed across the board in this meta-analysis is that those mice I'm sorry let me preface that the mice were genetically predisposed to have ALS so they all had a lot okay okay and what they did is that they showed that the mice that were on CBD could actually run further the mice could cling long-running that they actually increase the grip strength running real activity and they had improved survival and they did not have weight loss when they looked at all the studies something stood out to me that was very interesting they were all given CBD one particular study that they look that used a Madrigal inhibitor now what Maggio is is that's the enzyme that breaks down to AG one of your Dodgers and of cannabinoids in one of these days were to get into the deep science about the inner cannabinoid system gets all complex that's a drug it's in study and it's called KM L 29 so it's fascinating that the FDA's over here try to regulate right and in the background you've got drug companies try to develop drugs to manipulate the system if they can figure out that's awesome but is really interesting because the macro inhibitor was not as good as the traditional CBD and so what they found is that CD1 and CB to agonists in other words CBD significantly delayed the decline of motor function when compared to the control group and they showed a consistent 12 to 25 days longer of normal motor function in the mouse world what you doing is really improving that so right now there's no treatment for this they've got a couple drugs available one called real you tech and one called red Dick Reddick Have Not Even Sure That That Was around When Ross's Dad Was Sick They Said That It Could Potentially Slow down the Progression by a Month or Two While the Superexpensive Month or Two That's It I Member at the Time When We Went outside and Rushes Flying All over the Country Thing Is That Everywhere There Were Trying Everything They're Looking at Using Creatine and Different Things like That so Here We Have This Deal Where We've Got Eight Now You Can't Just Translate Mouse Models to Humans But It's Really One of the First Step in Trying to Figure Some Stuff out My Deal Is That We Know That CBD Helps in Many Different Ways and I'm Not Saying That This Is a Disease Claim I'm Not Saying That This Is Functioning and Will Help but It Certainly Can't Hurt and Might Help Right so When You Have a Very Specific Disease Group like ALS to Desperate Group with No Significant Treatment I Think It's Fascinating That These Guys Went to the Trouble of Putting Together This Mouse Data to Actually Try and Figure This out so Here We Have Grip Strength Upside down Running All of It Which Means That There Is Some Potential That This Could Actually Help This Very Devastating Disease and Is Very Small Group of People Because It's Rare but When It Does Affect You It Affects Everybody It May Affect One Person so the Number the Thing We'll Talk about Is When We Say Disease Oh This Is the Incidence of This Disease This Is the Prevalence of This Disease As Somebody Who Lost My Dad at a Young Age It Affects More Than Just the Person That Dies Share the Prevalence or the Incidence of the Disease Affects Everyone Around Them Right so I Think That If We Can Help Those People with ALS If You Know Anybody with ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease This Is Something That May Be Showmen We Can Certainly Forward This Article to Anybody That Would like to so Include Any of the Studies That Utilize a Mouse AMI All All of the Drugs They Began and and and Started There to Try to Find out If This Is a Workable Model and Unfortunately with Today's Highly Regulated Environment He Can't Just Keep Going Forward but Were Trying to Help People Connect the Dots This That CBD Is Safe to Take and You Shouldn't Have Any Serious Side Effects Certainly by Consuming CBD It Just so Happens That in This Mouse Model We Saw These Improvements Draw from the Conclusions What You Will But This Is What I've Seen and I Mean I Think That Were Hinting In the in the Correct Direction I Just Think That It's You Know This Is Work Were Offering Hope Church When Scientists like This Do This You Just Offer Little Bit of Hope And It Is a Devastating Disease and We Just Want to See People and Just Offer Them Something an Alternative Right And If They Can Even If They Feel a Bit Better Well We Got 20 Seconds Left Here in Just a Moment We Are Going to Be Joined by Catch a Project Is Brought to You by Arch on Teal As Well As KB MD CBD You Can findkbmdcbd@kbmdhealth.com and it just so happens that Chris may happen to know a little bit about KB MD CBD As Well Please Think Our Dialects and the Power Power by Licks and All so Chris You We Are Now in Dallas That's Where Our Studio Is Siam in Dallas Here with You Guys Thanks for Having Me I Grew up in Plano Just down the Road Just I Know That That's Also That's Where I Live Right Now Sam Right on Teakwood Okay All Right in the Middle Was Back When There Was Still Some Farmland in That Region Roads That Were Definitely Not Paved Back That Well While You Have Made Your Journey All the Way to Being a Market Expert but It Was You Got Zero Stress Remember I Was Told about Russ and His Dad yet Will He's Just Call Me Right Here Is Try to Call Him to Let Me Describe a Little Bit about about His Experience Home on Such a Crazy Timing to Rent a Van Fantastic What Will Look at That Set up Well in the Meantime While Were Getting the Call Set up Which This Be Our First Time We've Ever Had Live Taller All for You Chris That's Awesome Though Our Weight Much to Say Go Wildcats for Plano West Guy While Nice Nice Sticky Big Absolutely so from Plano You Are You Hello When You Plan to Graduate High School There No so I Was Born in the Fort Stockton Texas Home Right Now Where Judge Judge Roy Bean the Hanging Judge a Hanging Judge Meant to Write Also the Largest Groundhog Population in Texas That at the Time Did I Know That I Seconds Probably Pretty Pretty Have Been Doing down There but No I Moved to All over Texas with My Dad Is an Engineer for General Electric Okay so We Were All over the Place and Then Moved to California Right and I Graduated College out There and Jumped around All Sorts of Places since Then Is Your Degree in Theology Theology Yeah That's Right This Is Great for What I'm Doing Preaching about Hemp and CBD What May Think That I in All Honesty When You Find That There Is Actually Quite a Bit of Similarity and There's Going to Be A Lot of Congruent Messaging Well There There Is A Lot Of Congruent Messaging and and We Can Get Super Deep on It If You'd like but Overall Community, Theology or CVD Will Get the Loan Both of Them Get Real Deep on Both but That Because I Think Are Highly Connected I Think One of Them I Don't Know How Far You Want to Get into This Right Now but CBD Itself I Think It's Is One of the Main Things in the Unit Can Have Annoyed Systems and Allows All That Better Empathy Sure Which Is What Is Causing so Much Disregard and Disconnection in Our Society Right Now Right and If We Can All Take a Significant Amount of Quality CB and Improve Our Ability For Our Brain to Connect with People and and Not Have Social Anxiety And Connect to People Then Were Going to Actually Build Improve Our Culture and and Not Not Have All These Great Divides so I Would Assume That Probably Whenever You Are Studying Theology That That May Not Have Been Your Attitude Towards CBD or Hemp Products or That Was Even on Your Radar Though My Gosh Cannabis in CBD and Hemp Was Bad Sure You Know the Devils We Write Back Then and That It's Definitely Not Something That I Supported I Told My Kids Said No Don't Do Dumb Stuff Listen to Dad and Don't Do Drugs and Cannabis Was Definitely One of Those Things and I Had to Change My Tune Much Later in Life and My Mom Actually Group Cannabis and Marijuana While She Was Raising Us in Texas and Oklahoma and Back What Was Illegal She Was like One of the Original Member That Was – She Is Original OGE That so and You Know I I Being the Rebellious Teenager Decide I'm to Put Our Three-Piece Suit and Go Learn Religion and You Look down from My Port Perch on People and Obviously I Had to Humble Myself and Admit Mom Was Right the Whole Time That Is so Fascinating I Don't Want to Break the Story Whatsoever but I Think We Have Our First Because This Is Going All Dr. Russell Running San Antonio He Is Patched in And Russ Can Hear Us Morning Man This Is Also My Was That Obvious He Heard the Show This Morning Was Talk about You and Your Dad I Appreciate That That Means A Lot It Does so Russ Whenever You Found out That Your Dad Had ALS When When You Look at the Options That Were on the Table What and in You Being Physician What Did You Think of the Landscape and What Did You Think the Options Would Be For Him and Then Now Looking Back to What What Cans Talking about in Terms of CBD and ALS What I Mean I Lost My Dad You've Lost Your Dad Can Lost His Dad and You Know It's It's No Fun for Anyone Any Always Wish That You Had the Experiences of Technology Later What What Do You Wish You Could Take Back to in Time from What We Learn Now She Mentioned That My Dad Started Get Sick with ALS Back When Can Our Medical School Diseases Just Initiated This Really Is and They're Just Just Seated Man Who Was Pillar of Strength and It Just Wait, Wait Enough and Where They Couldn't Hold a Hammer He Could Climb a Ladder and the Most Devastating Part of That for Us Was When He Studied the Single Ball Ballparks in Ankeny and Carry on a Conversation and Eat Well Anymore Back Then There Was Nothing for Writers One of Those Diseases like Pancreatic Cancer You Got It Sorry I Just Not Then We Can Do and Then I Moved down Here to San Antonio Started Launching Residency and Fellowship and Hooked up with Carding Jackson Was a Neurologist down Here Amazing Woman Who Runs a Big ALS Clinic Here in South Texas and I Started Flying My Dad down Twice a Year and She'd See Him in an Even In Her Clinic It Was the Experimental Things of This Kind of False Hope Was Some Anti-Inflammatories There Wasn't Anything That Worked and There Are Days When It Looked like It May Be a Little Stronger and Days When He Wouldn't Now 15 Years Looking Back You Know That He's Been Gone There's Been so Much Advancement in so Many of These Neurologic Diseases and It's These Natural Types of Things That Seem to Keep Coming up As Potential Cures for This and Have Even Had an Opportunity to Have Him Try Something like This Back Then I Did My Right Arm for Combat and I Would Believe That You Don't Get Back That's I Think When You Talk about Suitable Were What Is Referring to Is the Ability to Swallow the Ability to Form Wet so I Remember When Your Dad Would Come Visit and We Would All Go to Your We Would Gather His Residence Would Go to the Pool And She Would Mumble Words That Only a Wife of 30 Years Could Understand and She Would Translate so He Was Still Completely with It Couldn't Communicate but That Kinda Shows Also the Bond That Husband and Wife Can Have Watching Your Mom Be Able to Understand What Your Dad Was Trying to Say Was Very Touching to All of Us In Talking with Him and That's the Part He Hated the Most You Got Your French Don't You Go out Yes and Cocktails Have a Dinner You Care Phone Conversation When You're like That Friends Don't Want to Hang out with You Anymore Because It's Hard and Embarrassing to to Say I Don't Know What You're Saying so There Were Times When My Dad Loved to Drink Beer I like to Drink Beer I Were Small-Town Nebraska I Would Grow up up There so When He Got to That Point in His Disease And He We Had the Decision to Finally A Peg Tube Feeding Put Two But into His Stomach to Swallow Much Anymore When You Come down Here and I Cannot Would Sit around and We Drink Beer and Dad Would Set Some up in Achieving Stringent Squared Together and It Was Awesome and and One of the Greatest Things I Remember Doing with My Dad Back and When He Got to Where He Couldn't Talk Was I Flew up and Picked Him up and Took Him up to Minnesota Went Fishing and Camping for Weekend We Sat around the Campfire We Just Drank until I Can Really Talk Either Loved It but That's What That Disease Did Nothing We Tried Were I Think That What Were Seeing Now with This Is That We Can Talk on the Mode of How Potentially the End of Cannabinoid System Works in These Neurotransmitters No Rust We Have Christmas Song on the Show Today Is the Marketing Director of Licks and All and He Was Just Tell yet He Was Talking about How His Mom Actually Was The Original OG Is Raising Her She Was Growing Marijuana and He Went to Theology School, Rebelled The Opposite Way like If You Are a Pastor You Really Grow Weed If You're Growing We Bellied Theology School You Find out You Know What You Go Back to the Things Parents. It Worked and It Made Sense Mom Was Right I Long Yeah Yeah I Mean I Joke That All the Time. I Grew up My Dad Was Yellow Country Music and Bud Light Not Solid to Rock 'n' Roll and Drink Out Of Date Now 50 and I Listen to Country Music Drink Bud Light Back Here at That Time That Often Did That Because You Find Those Things Were We Did Know Hey Rossiter – Neurology Practice Are You Incorporating Type of Natural Alternative Anything like That Big and Real High Population of People That Are Educated on the Younger Patient Population That I Have an Initial Internet Savvy and A Lot Of Them Come to Me Already Knowing A Lot about These Things and Having Read A Lot about These Things It's All out There When You Look Which Having Awesome so I Do I Have Acrobatic Doctors That I Work with I Have A Lot Of Patients on CD Oils Not Just for Things like This That Were Talking about but My Miles to Christ in Crohn's Patients with Chronic Nausea Patients My Chronic Pain Patients like Everything It Works for Some and It Does Percent Doesn't. Well I Want to See How It Was with What You Can Find Is That and What I Found Is That Not All CBD Is Created Equal And so with Some Things and so We Have Chris on Right Here and That I I'm Very I Think I Have a Similar Mantra Have A Lot Of Patience to Come into Being There Already Though I'd Artie Tried to Be like My Mom Tried Hemp Oil Which Probably Was Hemp Seed Oil Now That I Think about It in the Will and so It's like All Things You Know Not All Seabees Created Equal That's Working to Get into Today for the Rest of the Show Talk about This How Do You Market That How You Get the Word out That Just Because You Tried This Blanket Term CBD You Know You Gotta Really Make Sure That They Got a Certificate of Analysis and All That so I Want to Do If You Had Patients and It Didn't Work on Listing the Rest of the Show Because It May Be That the Power Dialects All Brand Is What You Really Need That's Exactly What We Need to Hear Some I'm Glad You Get Thanks for Involving Me and Bring Back Member My Dad and Mandalay Castle Being Vulnerable and Talking about That I Think It's Important for You Know I'm the Same Way Love Talk about My Dad It's Been You Many Years Now 30 Years since He Died so I'm Lucky Enough Still Have My Dad but My Fondest Memories Are Him Drinking Coors Light on the Boat Name for Court like Nebraska State Aire's Stepdaughter Russ I Was Met Together and That Means That We We with Some Real Lean Years Were We Were Broke Ass Med Student and Your Dad Will Visit And We Would Purposely Go to Bars with a Wood Offers like Specials like in This Bar It Will and You Don't Medical Whatever I'm Agreed As I Am Still a Bud Light like You Have but You Know Such Such Beers like 50% Was like I Was like Yeah Yeah Johnny Jerilyn $4.55 Dollars to Run I Got My Recall and in This Is Awesome That Your First Call Every Now and Certainly I Deftly Appreciated I Appreciate You Guys and Will Keep with the Man Thanks for All You Do Appreciate It I See Russ Well Chris to Talk about Beer Similar Talk about Boys You Know What I'll Say This I Remember Listening to a Podcast Were One of the Reasons Why Beer May Be so Popular Is Because the Hops and Actually Have a End of – You Have a Cannabinoid -like Molecule so My Understanding Is That That Was All Made up All Really Got Some Some Marketing Guy Used His Powers for Evil Instead of Good and That the Two Companies That Are And It Kinda Leaves What You're Talking about Not All Seabees Made Same Two Companies That Were behind Those Actually Had to Admit That There Was Those Studies Were Completely Phone No Kidding Yeah That Is Fascinating I Was Feeling and Have Chris Consider Just Burst Bubble to Be Dropping Some Truth Bombs Now That's Awesome What We Were Just Wrapping up so You To Get into the Hemp Industry Because Krista Talked about His Trek from from Fort Stockton to Plano out to out to California and Then You Spend a Little Time in Germany Germany Where I Did Learn A Lot about Beer Dealer Lot Is Three and Half Years on the High School There and Going to Prom and Castles and All Sorts of Fun Stuff That's a Little Different Doing for like We Did Were in Plano Where I Would've Would've Done It Sure Sure so Then after School You Then Get into Some Regulatory I Figured out This Beeper and Pager and Wireless Things Can Be a Big Deal so I Started Selling Cell Phones and Pagers and You Know Five Dollar Minute Type Technology in and Got into the Technology World and Got into When Sprint Was in One Market You Can Only Use Her Cell Phone in Fresno Okay and Then the Only Been Growing since Then Moved from There into the Finance World and Helped with A Lot Of Regulatory World and There and Open Market under A Lot Of Rules and Regulations and While I Was There I Met a Guy Who Is Doing Documentary on Campus and He Was Put Together All These Different Case Studies and All These Different Videos and Clips of These People That Have Been Healed by Campus and at That Time I Was like No Bunch of Stoners and You Just Want You with the with the Theology Background You Carry a Bias with These Going into These Other Careers Are More Open-Minded at This Point What Based on My Initial Upbringing by My Mom Who Is Very Open Minded I Was I Was Always Questioning Authority and Questioning Things and through That Entire Process Even Going through Theology School I Was Questioning Everything around Me You Know the Minute That and Again I Don't Know How Deep You Want to Get into Religion Here but the Minute That I Heard about Their Profit Care and Oh How They the Canonization of All of the Books and How They Got into the Bible I Started to Start Questioning A Lot More and You Know They Trying Teach You That the Bible Is 100% the Word of God and Then You Decide to Figure out That Is about 15 White Guys in a Room to Decide Which Books Are in the Bible and You Only but Little Doubt in Your Head Sure I Don't I Don't Know That 15 Guys Can Agree about Anything and Deftly When Trust Something like That That's Guiding so Many People's Lives Divided 15 Guys in Room so It's It's Definitely No Been Something I'm Always Open-Minded and Looking at Things and Questioning Things I'm Click to Decide and Slow to Change My Mind so I See Something That's Right and Usually Jump Right in and Stick with It May Be Too Long and Then Dismantled That up but I Learned My Lesson Sooner or Later Click to Decide Slow to Change My Mind That Is a That Is a Great Line This It's like You Make a Decision but You Don't Have To Make the Right Decision to Make Your Decision Right That A Lot Of Times I Mean We've Already It's That Little Cliché but Sure Enough Perfect Is Sometimes the Enemy of Good Brian and I like to Move Fast and Make the Decisions What I What I Believe in My Gut I Think That If More People Moved That Way Things to Get Done A Lot Faster in Love Things I Think Doubt Self-Doubt Challenges A Lot Of Us and from a Marketer And I like to Empower People to Make the Right Decisions and Given the Right Information That I Learned Early on in My Sales Careers That When People Tell You Know It's It's Primarily Because They Don't Have Enough Information to Say Yes the More Information We Can Give Them the More Education We Can Give Them Then They Can Move Forward So It's Just That Self-Doubt That Little Gut Thing That We Need to Move Them on Let Me Answer Question Measured Market Are One of the Things That I Have Run into with My Colleagues to Coworkers and Things Is That When Somebody Is so Entrenched in Their Belief They Get This Cognitive Dissonance Where It's Almost like There Is a Logical From Then on Transits and Religion Parallels That Tremendously If There's Anything That Has Cognitive Dissonance Is When Somebody Has the Religion and You like Look Just Saying That This Is like You Said It's 15 White Dudes in a Room You Know Maybe It's Not Everything I You Know There's A Lot Of Things I Grew up Catholic so I'm I'm I'm a Recovering Catholic and We Do Know There's There's A Lot Of Things I Look Back on Them like Ha Knows A Lot Of Things Were Really Good about It Right Discipline You Know Learning Empathy Learning These Different Things Learning to Be Held Accountable for What You Do There's Higher Good Buyer Doing All This of the Stall That There's Times That I Took Away from Theology and Take Away from Christianity and Many of the Religions That I've Studied but Absolutely One of the Things That Jesus Did Many Other of the of the Profits They Questioned Authority May Question Things and so It's Really Important That We Teach Our Kids Only Teach People to Question You Know Why Is CBD Bad by Wise Cannabis Bad You Know That Doesn't Make Any Sense and You Know If You Really Want to Get Deep on Some of the the Conspiracy Theories of How This All Got Legally Illegal We Could Get down That Road to Because It Is Crazy Will It Tell You What First of All Is Not All Right Thought Would Be Going off Right into A Lot Of Parallels That with This so What I Want to Ask You Is a Marketer How Do You Was a Marketer Overcome This Cognitive Dissonance so Primarily It's Education Right What What Sit in Front of Me and What Changed My Mind Is Facts I When You Look at Some Kid Or Some Mom or Some Dad That His Life Has Been Changed Because They're Taking CBD on a Regular Basis They Went from Not Being Able to Talk To Being Able to Talk No They Went from 300 Seizures a Day Two No Seizures but Those Type of Things You Can't Deny Right Something Is Working so If You're Able Then to Dig into Why Is That Not like Rafael Mitchell and Started Right He Went to Discover the Why We Get High Right Many Found in a Can-Am Annoyed System and Then He's Figured out There's More Than One Cabinet to New There's A Lot Of People Don't Know Who That Is Identical I've Read A Lot about Him Please Explain Who He Is Sort of the Godfather Godfather in the Can-Am Annoyed System and He's the One That in an Israel Went to Go Does Study Why THC Affects People And He Threw His Studies Found the Indo Cannabinoid System and the CD1 and CB to Receptors and Why We Get High and Started Been Digging into the Plant In Finding That There's Many More Cannabinoids and Found CB Juan and CBN and CBG and All These Things and He's Really the One That It Brought This to the Forefront for Everyone and Only Because Return for Why People Get Hot and Move Forward from There A True Scientist and Also Somebody Who Discovered Something That I Did Learn about Med School No Is 9% of Medical Schools Now Teach about That Night I'm Surprised It's Not Really I Think That's Higher Than What I Would've Said I Would've Said 0% It Said to Me It Still Shocking That Is That Low That It's Ever I Mean I Understand Coming from Medical Field Where You Were Taught about It so That Makes Sense Right but Even 9% of Sure All the Doctors out There How Much Impact Just This One Camp Mind Is Made Can You Imagine If 20% of Our Doctors Knew about How This Mean the Doctors That That I Talk to Every Day You Know They Run the Gamut Summerlike Yes All Day In Summer like Crazy I Lose My License Right and That's the Education Back to What Your Talk about How You Change the Minds What a Link Small Has Done and Work with People like You Is to Make Sure That Those Influencers of the Health and Wellness World Those Health Professionals out There Those Doctors Are Equipped with Education Because There to Make the Biggest Impact You Know I Can Go Sell a Bunch of This Online and All Search Ads up There and Click Send It There but What We've Decided to Is Focused Primarily on Helping Health Professionals to Learn about Our Product Because There Can Make Big Impact in the Community so That I Think That That Is All I'm Sorry about That I Think That's Paul Paul W Are Found When Joy Was Here She Was Describing Your You Paul Gabe Your Etiology Is Not so Much Just to Move Product It's to Educate the World so That This All Become Something Bigger Hundred Percent Hundred Percent Our Founder Paulino Is Pre-Much a Citizen of the World Now He Considers Himself One of Those Guys That That Doesn't Belong Any One Country That Belongs to the All of the World and He's Trying to Make Big Changes CDs Just One of Them You Know He's Been a Hen Pioneer since the 90s Right and Made the Very First Hemp Bar Because It Had so Many Omega-3's and Omega Sixes and Nobody Was Getting Those Essential Fats Right Now You Have To Get Them from Meat Is What They Were Trying so Need to Know You Can Get It from the Plants and You Can Start Getting Those Things Because You Could Lit so Many People Implant Diets Were Deficient And There Is No Reason Because We Had Hemp Constantly When I Met You and Chrissy Feel They Will Affect Two Years Ago I Knew Nothing Was in Two or Three Working up on the Third One Now Is at Three Bad Is Probably through Your Probably Right Because I Give a Lecture Last Year Yes Is Your Go to the Third Value about so What Happened to Me Was I Just Walked by the Booth and I Was Just That Christie Just Said You Discredited Love You Bunches That Happens When Everyone Christie Just Brought Everybody and She Such a Great Evangelist Shoot She Has but It Was Literally It's like I Don't Know What You're Talking about What I Did Your Enthusiasm Send a Case to My Office Area and I Gave Away the Whole Case You Can Take Any Blog I Talk about I Did Well but One Bottle and What I Found Is That I Guess Maybe Got to Get to 24 I Think I Had 22 People Come Back after the Bottle Run out the Big Bottle of 3600 It's I Want More Know It Okay Run Something And I Gave It to I Didn't of Insiders Ate the Cost and Elect Someone to See Unbiased Just Predicate Event Just Tell Me What You Think and a True Scientist but True yet so I Had like 22 of 24 People Come Back to What Okay Were on to Something Now I Need to Start Teaching Myself Now I Need to Really Start Educating Myself And It All Starts with That Starts with Just the Domino Effect And That's What's That's What I'm Doing Right Now Working to Be Talking A Lot about the Actual Science of Stuff and Disease States That I'm Helping Not Claiming But Supporting Supporting Exactly Just so You We Kind of Hit A Lot Of Different Topics Here but Said Some Things That We Can Carry over into the Next Hour That I Think the Listeners Are Really Liking at Your Approach Chris Which Is Basically You Said You'd You Should Become Double Challenging Dogma You and You Really Should If You're Going to Find Something That Doesn't Just Mean Looking at Hemp and Saying I Think It's Taboo but I Need to Find out More about It to See If I Can Change My Mind There's Also Incidents We May Say Hemp Is Everything but I Need to Make Sure That It's Everything That Everybody Says That It Is Absolutely and Then Then We Also Need to Talk about the Environment That Allows Us to Foster This Kind Growth Because There's a Reason If I Remember the Story Correctly That the Discoveries Made in Israel It Wasn't I Wasn't Able Only One Able to Have Those Kinds of Experiments Here to Find Indo Cannabinoid System in a Stateside Because Our Government Prevented That from Happening so the Fact There Were 9% of Med Schools It's Surprising That It's Grown That Much of the Same Time It Should Be Hundred Percent so We Can Get into Some Really Deep Topics in Terms of How Do We Carry This Message Forward How Do We Make It Available to More People How We Present the Facts of the People Know That You're Not Selling Them Snake Oil That You're Not Telling That You Know It It Fixes Broken Bones and Lowers Your Gas Bill Because It Doesn't Do Those Things Really Get Bored but Actually I Think Fixing Broken Bones Lowering Gas-Filled FDA and FTC Has No Problem with Those Claims but It Is That You and I Could Probably Make a Correlation to the Lower Gospel If I Wanted Regulator System Brings a Homeostasis You Don't Need to Turn up the Heater Comes to the Practical Application of a CBD Is Really Where Your Expertise Is Because You've Made This Journey Right You Made This Journey of I Don't Believe in It to This Is Incredible I Gotta Spread This News in the Right Way to Do so Would You Are Much More Well-Rounded Than I Was Anticipating This Is Really Cool You Got One of the Things You Get a Very Calm Nature but I Would Have This Nervous Energy about My Gosh I'm Sitting on This Just Amazing Thing Wire but As Everybody Get It But You Seem Very Meth Methodical about It I Should Say Well I Have I Do Have What Is Known As Very Laid-Back Nature People Been Thinking I Was High My Whole Life When I Want to Buy Weed from Me When I Didn't Have It so It's Just in My Nature but Absolutely I'm Very Thoughtful about How We Communicate This Because It's Important You Know There Is A Lot Of Weight To What Were Doing This Is a You Know Even Bigger Than the Internet Boom in the 90s and Skin to Change A Lot Of Things Now If You Think about It CBD And Him Could Replace the Entire Johnson & Johnson Catalog So That Hits on Something That We Can Deftly Take the Next Hour to Think That That the Listeners Have Got to Email about It Already That Specifically Want to Know How Can We Put Facts and Research behind Were Going to Do in the Next Hour We Can Deftly Talk about What It Is That a Medical Practitioner Can Do What It Is That a Consumer Can Do What Is in Allied Health Professional Can Do so They Can Better Spread The Message to Allow People That Are Suffering or Just Sibley Want to Improve Their Quality of Life and Him and Him Products to To Their Rather Daily Routine to See If 1 Do ONE thing everyday. Tricha needed to set a new neural pathway to head towards her goal, so she is going to do ONE thing everyday, no matter how small that is heading in the direction of her vision. 2 Have your DOUBTS and keep going. I think most of us have doubts about what to do next or feeling unsure or unsafe about our decisions, the key is to become the observer of them, see the belief and then keep going. They don’t mean anything, they are just a thought. 3 Don’t overthink – FEEL. Being in our head too much can drive us mad – literally! When those decisions swirl around, funnel all of them into your heart and see what settles. It’s a wonderful test. Then say 3 ideas that you settle with, process them, see when you unpack them what feels right and doesn’t. Don’t choose something that needs FIXING, choose that easy – feels good place. If you don’t feel really happy about any, then keep ALLOWING more to come. love + sparkle Scarlett

“You need different”…this is what one of my friends told another. She was explaining how something was about to change in her life, and she was scared. It made me think about how often we crave something new, but resist it. All while distracting ourselves with the notion that we must do this or that to “improve.” If this is you today, my dear. Stop. You don’t need to improve. You don’t need better. Nor do you need the SAME. Perhaps you’re addicted to “SAME” when what you really need is “DIFFERENT.” If you desire something different, then you must be willing to do something different. Become different. And not simply to BE DIFFERENT. You already ARE different. Have you ever thought about that? Stop trying to STOP DIFFERENT. When you do, you hinder your growth. Your development. You interfere with your natural flow of living life. You interrupt yourself. You distract yourself. You limit yourself. Are you ready for something different? Something new? Then remember this… You. Hey hey folks, welcome to another slice of SPCP Live shenanigans! First up is podcasting juggernaut Luke Moore (of The Football Ramble, The Luke & Pete Show and On The Continent fame), who joins us to chat about podcasting and his favourite TV shows right now, as well as challenging us to name our favourite SPCP Live guest so far! (Eeeeeevil!) I regale Luke & Barry with a tale of a ludicrous family dinner and Barry shares his feelings on moths. Moths can DO ONE. After that, we have the absolutely splendiferous Townsend Coleman joining us for a spot of chat about acting, voice acting, how he became TMNT's Michelangelo and the impact of his work. Barry & I tried to stay cool but you try not dissolving into a fan-mess when The Tick starts chatting to you! It's just not possible! SPOOOOOOOON! Episode Theme - 'Scarface (Push It To The Limit)' by Paul Engemann End Theme - 'The Glow' by Willie Hutch JustGiving Donation Link (the page is still open!): www.justgiving.com/spcplive3 Timings: 00:00:00: Luke Moore, 01:02:03: Townsend Coleman Disclaimer: The SPCP Live 3 episodes will be mostly unedited. This means they will be put out as close to their live versions as possible, including (but not limited to); audio delays and the resultant accidentally-talking-over-each-other, bodily function noises (aka the World's Loudest Sneezes), slightly-too-long sections in which we try to deal with the mountain of technical problems on the day... I believe they are still very enjoyable though, and I hope you have as much fun listening in as Barry & I did when broadcasting!

Session 27 If you've been a great premed student, you likely will have the chance to choose between multiple acceptances. How should you do choose between schools? This is a terrible yet awesome problem to have. "You need to figure out what is the most important part of going to medical school for you." [01:00] Financial Factor What is the most important part of going to medical school for you? Is it to come out with less debt? Then find the cheapest school. Or find one that is going to give you the biggest scholarship. Yes, medical schools give scholarships. A student I worked with the past year had multiple acceptances. So she called one school and voiced out her concerns. And they bumped up their scholarship, afraid they would lose her. Obviously, she was a good enough student who had that diversity they wanted. That's $75k and that's a lot! So when you're at that point of having multiple acceptances, you can tell a school that another school is offering you this much. And if they can match that, well then good. [02:42] Take Notes What other factors may be important to you? Is it weather? It is to a lot of people. If you're coming from sunny California and you're accepted to Buffalo, really make sure you want to go there since they have bad winters up there. As you're going through the process of interviewing at multiple schools, take note. What did you like about the school? What didn't you like? What questions do you still have about the school? Feel the vibes of the students. Check out the facilities. Take note of a lot of these things so when you come back and the rush of the interview day is over, you can then subjectively look at what you wrote down. And you're not trying to remember on the fly and get confused. "You can look subjectively at what you actually wrote down and you're not trying to remember on the fly and then confusing things as you go?" What was it about the facilities? The location? Do they have housing for students? How expensive is the area? Where's the nearest airport? Do you have to fly and drive for four more hours? These things can be important to other people, especially if you're leaving family and your family is going to visit you a lot. [03:55] Academic Factors How big are the classes? What's the type of curriculum they have? What do they do during the summers? What kinds of research do they have going on there? What sort of academic hospital do they have there? Do you have to do your rotations scattered throughout the country or around a region? Or do they have a lot of academic hospitals in one concentrated area? This way you won't have a ton if you're with family. There are so many different things to think about as you're going through this process of trying to decide between multiple acceptances. [04:45] MD versus DO One of the things you should not be concerned about is MD versus DO. I was emailing with a student and the student said they had the best time at this school which had everything he wanted but it's a DO school. So he asked whether he should be concerned. If you got the best vibe at that school, then go there. If in all of your interview, you got the best vibes and feelings at a DO school, then go to a DO school. Nothing's going to happen to you. You're going to be a DO. And at the end of the day, you're a physician. By the way, the episodes in this podcast are recordings of our Facebook Live that we do at 3pm Eastern on most weekdays. Noah Fleming's Tuesday Tidbit from Tuesday, July 11, 2017 - A HUGE mistake I see with many clients is the desire to do too much too fast. In this week's tidbit, I suggest a better way to increase sales and revenue. Do ONE thing. Get the one thing right and ONLY add the next when people are doing the one thing without beating them over the head.
Cheryl Tan knows the power of stories in connecting people. She’s been a broadcast journalist in GA and VA, with 20+ years in the TV news business. After blending her talents with her entrepreneurial drive, she now shares interviewing and storytelling skills with business owners who want to use video or media to tell the stories of their companies. Cheryl knows how to help entrepreneurs be seen as experts in their fields and helps them connect with clients and customers through video and public relations. TWEET: “Learn to share your story while you build your #Authority!” @CherylTan Life’s Changing Journey We all know that we don’t always end up doing what we “think” we will. There is value in being willing to change your path and find your voice. This is what Cheryl had to do to end up in the field of broadcast journalism. She shares how she learned from others and learned about connecting with people through stories. The key elements are listening and being curious. Even though her path didn’t lead where she expected, Cheryl found a way to blend her innate curiosity, her love for writing, and her passion for literature into a “news job.” TWEET: “Your WHY will come out quite naturally when you share what you do.” @CherylTan Testing the Waters Do you know the feeling of leaping into something new? Cheryl describes her personal experience as “dipping her toe” into a new path. She began asking business associates if they needed help with newsletters or media and was surprised when her offers were well-received. Soon enough, she was able to pick a date at which she would go “all in.” That was over two years ago—a time period fraught with journeys, pivots, and changes. What is the secret to making it work? Cheryl says that you need the courage to leave all you’ve ever known and have faith in yourself. She shares how she now serves people in a different way and empowers them to tell their stories. TWEET: “People are more open to you when you start by offering help.” @CherylTan Asking for Help Do you ask for help when you need it? Most of us don’t. Cheryl had to look for people who knew “a thousand times more” than she did and tap into their expertise. If you look, you will find them—those who had left something behind to look for something else. Cheryl warns that these “helpers” don’t have to have the same exact situation as you do to be helpful. The passion to help others is the common factor. TWEET: “It’s more than OK to ask for help.” @CherylTan GUEST RECOMMENDATION: “Take action. Do ONE thing to move you forward. Most people know what that is, even if it’s scary; they just need to do it.” OUTLINE OF THIS EPISODE: [1:50] How Aimee met Cheryl [2:25] Finding your voice [5:50] Why Cheryl took the path to broadcast journalism [8:52] Behind the scenes in news making [10:44] Cheryl’s 20-year career in TV news [14:00] Testing the waters and taking the leap [18:18] Being self-aware and listening to your gut [19:08] Always learning and adapting [21:16] Seeking help when you need it [24:40] No limits: Keep going [25:26] Common lessons in changing careers [27:25] The WHY---and how to find it [33:00] How Cheryl offers help to others [35:35] How connections have helped [39:20] Cheryl’s ONE action for dream chasers to take RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: Cheryl on Facebook Cheryl on Twitter Cheryl’s Website TWEETS YOU CAN USE: TWEET: “A genuine #connection doesn’t have to be a constant connection.” @cheryltan TWEET: “I’m a good interviewer because I “just have to know about people.” @cheryltan TWEET: “Your #path knows where to take you.” @cheryltan
