Transformers Generation 2 has the reputation of a lost chapter, a quickly-cancelled failure swept aside by later, better-known revivals of the 1980s toyline. Does G2 deserve this reputation? Female Transformers are TOO FEMALE and TOO SEXXY for Twitter?!

The new Transformers comic book series from Skybound is coming under fire on social media from IDW fans. Why? The female Transformers look TOO female. And that's sexist. Or something. ➡️ Tip Jar and Fan Support: http://ClownfishSupport.com ➡️ Official Merch Store: http://ShopClownfish.com ➡️ Official Website: http://ClownfishTV.com Additional Context: The Transformer characters Windblade and Arcee have sparked discussions and controversies regarding their designs and gender representations. Windblade, in particular, has faced backlash due to her design, which some fans criticize for being too influenced by human feminine traits, such as the appearance of wearing armor rather than looking like a traditional machine-like Transformer. This criticism extends to her kabuki-inspired appearance, as some fans argue that it diverges from traditional Transformer aesthetics. The controversy around Arcee and other female Transformers in the IDW Comics is tied to their origins and treatment in the storyline. In the 2005 reboot of The Transformers Generation 1 by IDW, Arcee's backstory was problematic, as she was portrayed as a creation of a mad scientist who forcibly converted her into a female, leading her to become psychologically unstable. This depiction was criticized for its metaphorical association with rape and transgender issues. Windblade, however, represented a shift in how female Transformers were portrayed. Created as a result of fan input, Windblade was the first fan-built Transformer to get her own comic series. This series, created by an all-female team, aimed to address the franchise's history of sexism. Windblade's origin story differed from Arcee's, as she came from a colony ship that departed Cybertron and evolved distinct genders over many years. In the comics, Windblade and her companions, such as Chromia, joined the Autobots to help their homeworld. The story used their alien origin to address the meta-sexism of the franchise, presenting them as outsiders struggling to gain acceptance and understanding in a society unfamiliar with gender. The introduction of Windblade was significant in that it brought a female character into the spotlight without making her gender the defining aspect of her character. The comic series avoided focusing on her gender, instead highlighting her role as a dedicated worker and her struggles against the machinations of characters like Starscream. This approach was appreciated by fans and critics, as it provided a more nuanced and respectful treatment of a female Transformer character. In summary, the designs of female Transformers like Windblade and Arcee and their handling in IDW comics have been points of contention among fans. While Arcee's backstory was criticized for its problematic themes, Windblade's introduction and character development marked a positive step towards a more inclusive and respectful representation of female characters in the Transformers universe. David outlines a theory about the names of the Constructicons, Jordan turns a specific animation error into a new area of begrudging affection, and Gege reminisces about a paleontology birthday party. This is all without mentioning the greatest instance of synchronicity between real-life partners David and Gege. It has to be heard to be believed. We’re planning a special one-off to celebrate the completion of Season 1, and it’ll take a little more work than usual, so make sure you follow @RobotsIntoGuys on Instagram for all the updates on that unique project. As always, leave us a 5-star review on the podcast app of your choice. Thanks!!

TABLE OF CONTENT TALKING POINTS EPISODE 7 2/23/2020Welcome to Table of Content. The Elevate community round table show where we discuss all the happenings around streaming, gaming and entertainment. We are joined this week by The_Official_Rogue, Eminent_Stump, and joining us for the first time ever, BroseWood. How are you all doing this evening? Quickly tell us about your channels/role in the community.Streaming News Dr Disrespect explains why he's "upset" with his own Twitch subs As one of the most popular channels on all of Twitch, Dr Disrespect boasts one of the highest subscriber counts on the platform. But, he's called out these very same subscribers now, criticizing them for a lack of energy in the streams. Estimated to have over 20,000 paying subscribers, one of the many benefits these users get is the ability to chat in the stream. Yet, Doc is now experimenting with allowing all viewers to chat, even non-subscribers. While worried about the spammers this will bring he said, Before this, Dr Disrespect had also roasted the spammers too, mocking them for incessantly copying and pasting messages from other users: "I can't imagine the brain that is sitting in that head!" Even big streamers suffer when their chat is as involved as they want them to be. Brose how do you deal with those streams when the hype is low? PewDiePie reveals his future YouTube plans after returning from break After a month-long break, the king of YouTube Felix 'PewDiePie' Kjellberg is back. Returning from his recent hiatus, the Swede made his triumphant return on February 21 by catching up on memes.  The Swedish star uploaded a 15-minute video where he reacted to world's best memes that he had missed while on vacation. reacted to his subreddit having descended into chaos while on break. "I always wondered what you guys would do. What's going to happen to the subreddit.  Now we know. Absolute garbage, thank you!" he joked. The YouTuber ended the video by stating that he will be uploading daily again, and also thanked his fans. "Thank you for all the nice and lovely supportive comments while I was gone, that really cheered me up," he said. "It's been really healthy and good for me to take this break. I appreciate everyone's patience." Rogue, how has pewdiepie being gone ruined your life? When will you be making your big return?  Pokimane explains why being called a “Twitch thot” doesn't bother her Imane “Pokimane” Anys is one of Twitch's most popular streamers, boasting a huge audience of over 3.9 million followers on the site — but being an internet star doesn't come without its difficulties. Although Pokimane sports a hugely supportive fanbase, she likewise has a horde of haters, many of whom label her a “Twitch thot” — an insulting term meant to degrade women on the platform by accusing them of using their sexuality to get views. “‘Thot' is like the lowest list of anything that will hurt me,” she joked. “I've heard that sh*t a million times!” ~Zazz will rant for a second here. Stump, is that the key to dealing with online hate just brushing it off or should we police it?   Twitch streamer Nymn "kicked out" of Furry convention for livestreaming  Another streamer is again in trouble for live streaming from a convention. Nymn's furry convention adventure came to a quick and abrupt end, when he and his companion were told to stop live streaming and were then kicked out of the building. Nymn seems to believe that the behavior of his chat might have been responsible for the sudden boot from the venue, and spoke candidly to his viewers about how he views their behavior. “Some of the people in the Twitch chat were not being very friendly. So I can understand, if you're into this stuff, if you see someone streaming and you check out their stream and the only thing you see in chat is negativity, you'd think ‘yeah I'd probably want them out of the convention' as well.” Blaming his chat seems a little ridiculous when he was filming/streaming from a private event without permission. Brose, what are your thoughts on irl streams and how to go about them?Gaming News EA's Server Woes Call the Entire Future of Cloud-Gaming Into Question Cloud gaming might be the future, but many people are wary. EA's recent server issues are only expanding these fears. EA is currently suffering from some server problems. Many of their online-based games remain unplayable – more than three hours after the company first marked them “resolved.” Luckily, you don't need servers to play most single-player game modes. But imagine if all video games were 100% online – as they would be if you were using a cloud gaming service – and you start to see the scale of the issue. With cloud gaming being the seeming future of gaming do you worry about these sorts of issues? Think of the implications for a live streamer if their games cloud service goes down? Rogue Tiger's retro LCD handheld games are making a comeback Hasbro is bringing back another ‘90s classic: the monochrome Tiger Electronics LCD handheld. Today, the company announced that it'll be releasing four new versions of the iconic handheld, which will launch this fall for $14.99 each. As with the originals, each device will play a single game. The launch titles include The Little Mermaid, Transformers: Generation 2, X-Men Project X, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (all are available to preorder at Gamestop now).  This isn't the first such ‘90s LCD revival. Back in 2017, Bandai Namco brought back the classic Tamagotchi, which similarly banked largely on nostalgia. Like that effort, Hasbro's new gaming devices feature nothing in the way of modern conveniences. Instead, they harken back to a much simpler time for the medium. Brose, Did you have these as a kid and will any of you be picking these up? PlayStation cites coronavirus, backs out of multiple major gaming expos [Updated]  One day after Sony's PAX East cancellation, the company's PlayStation arm has now announced plans to skip a second major gaming expo, the Game Developers Conference, by citing the impact of coronavirus on its worldwide operations. Its exit from the March expo has company: Oculus, the virtual reality arm of Facebook, will also no longer attend GDC. GDC's organizers posted a statement on Thursday assuring attendees that they're moving forward with the expo as planned, based on guidance from state and city health advisers. "We believe that, based on the strict US quarantine around coronavirus and a large number of enhanced on-site measures, we are able to execute a safe and successful event for our community," the statement said. With another piece of gaming new citing corona virus issues, and the rise in cases we have seen in the last weeks, Stump are you worried at all about world govts being able to contain the corona virus?Entertainment News Disney + Cooking Show BE OUR CHEF Serves Up a Family Affair  Video Cue A new cooking competition from Disney+ will pit two families against each other in the kitchen. They'll be tasked with making original dishes inspired by beloved Disney characters. And while the first trailer for Be Our Chef looks like the least relaxing vacation ever, it should be a lot of fun to watch. Plus, it offers a big time reward for its competitors. One family will see their original dish on a Disney menu in the park. Angela Kinsey (The Office) hosts the upcoming new cooking show for Disney +. The culinary competition premieres on the streaming site this spring, on Friday, March 27. Each episode will see two families facing off, as they concoct totally original treats and dishes inspired by that week's signature character. Brose, do you like to cook and will you be checking out the show? ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK? Reboot Is Back For Seconds VIdeo Cue If there's one show that collectively traumatized a generation of millennials, it's Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark. The Canadian-produced series originally aired from 1990 to 1996, with a reboot in 1999 for an additional season. It followed a group of friends who call themselves the Midnight Society; they gathered 'round a fire each week to tell a horror story. That story then played out for the audience, anthology-style. Each episode had a new, frightening thing to terrorize its young audience, from vampires to ghosts to aliens to ghouls. Last year, keen to dip into the wells of nostalgia, Nickelodeon rebooted Are You Afraid of the Dark. And successfully, at that, because it's coming back for a second season.  Stump were you fan of the show as a kid? Borderlands Movie to Be Directed by Eli Roth  Eli Roth (Hostel, Death Wish) is officially set to direct an upcoming film adaptation of the popular Borderlands video game franchise. For those unfamiliar with the Borderlands series, it's perhaps best to think of it as a kind of warped, sarcastic version of the Mad Max franchise. It tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world dominated by roaming gangs, legions, and other power-hungry coalitions. The series is infamous for its elaborate weapons, over-the-top violence, and wicked sense of humor. Without much detail past that Rogue what are you hoping to see from this series? Masters of the Universe: Revelation Cast Revealed  Kevin Smith's animated He-Man reboot for Netflix, Masters of the Universe: Revelation is coming closer to reality. The series, which was announced back in August, will pick up the story from the original Filmation He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series years later, basically taking the Creed/The Force Awakens/Jurassic World approach with its “belated sequel” look at the world of Eternia. Netflix has now revealed the Masters of the Universe: Revelation voice cast just to name a few Mark Hamill as Skeletor Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela Liam Cunningham as Man-At-Arms Stephen Root as Cringer Diedrich Bader as King Randor and Trap Jaw And the king of hardcore himself Henry Rollins as Tri-Klops Oh yeah and btw Kevin Conroy, the voice of batman, as Mer-man. With a star studded voice cast like this and the always great writing by Silent Bob I am sure this will be a must see. Guys any thoughts????Anything you want to plug, Brose? The Seibertron.com Twincast Podcast presents its latest episode, "Champagne Wishes and Energon Dreams". This episode primarily covers the best toys, comics, movies, and television episodes from the Transformers brand that were released in 2017. However, to start the episode, the Power of the Primes Voyager class figures Grimlock and Starscream are analyzed now that some of the cast own their own copies of these figures. Another current topic comes next in the form of discussion about the just released Transformers Till All Are One Annual comic from IDW Publishing. The "Best of 2017" topics then start in earnest with a look at the favorite Transformers Generations figures from Titans Return. Live action Transformers movie The Last Knight gets one last look as well, with reflections on the positively viewed parts of the film discussed. Missed opportunities, spotlight characters, and standout comics lead up to the topic where the best thing from the brand for the entire year is selected by each cast member, with Transformers Masterpiece figures taking center stage. The show wraps up with a quick mention of some of the year's disappointing moments, followed by predictions both wild and wonderful for the year to come for Transformers in 2018.

How many Transformer's cartoons are there?  The answer is A LOT.  There are really a ton of Transformers cartoons and it's pretty incredible.  And now for a second question!  Have you ever had the following question  - "is there a Japanese, non-canon, Transformers series?"  Sean and Dave answer that  with Transformers: The Headmaster on this week's episode.   If last week's Transformers Generation 1 was devoid of battle then this week we have the complete opposite.  The Headmaster is nothing but battles, across three planets, with tons of Robots that are really not in disguise at all.  Will Dave come to love the Trainbots?  Will Sean finally figure out what a "Headmaster" is on this show?  (the answers are yes and no)  All of that and more on this week's episode of the Saturday Mourning Cartoons podcast. This weeks episode is brought to you by "grocery shopping."  A chore that you always leave until late on a Sunday.  Grocery Shopping - "Gotta shop'em ALL"  This month we are digging dig into everything Transformers related!  Insert that Matrix of Leadership and get ready for Transformers: Super God Masterforce next week only on the Saturday Mourning Cartoons podcast.

How can you not get excited about the new Clone Wars and Vintage Collection Figures? While pricey, what kid of the 80's wouldn't have killed for a 2 foot Voltron figure? Speaking of the 80's, what about Mattel finally getting the Filmation rights? We've got a Filmation accurate Grannamyr and Shadow Weaver coming. How about Transformers Generations continuing with a new Junkion? In this day and age where spoilers run rampant and are almost the norm, it's simply amazing to be one of the first to hear about and sometimes see brand new toys. This episode only briefly touches on my addiction. What we really try to do is give you the full SDCC experience.
