Katie Corbett has been a professional writer for 11 years. More specifically, as a current customer case study writer, she is great at asking strategic, open-ended questions that bring out the authentic quotes and anecdotes one can use to market a product or service with an engaging, personal touch. Katie can efficiently draw narratives together in a format that showcases an entrepreneur or professional at their best and positions their products and services to be noticed by prospects. In this episode, Katie shares with us some notes to remember when gathering and writing your top quality testimonials. Here are the key takeaways from today's episode: 1. Find the right opportunity - One important time that most business owners miss when asking for testimonials is when a client or customer gives your service a compliment. This is a high time when they're overflowing with happiness and could write a vibrant review. 2. Ask the right questions - There are specific questions that will improve your chances of getting quality feedback. Help them remember what part of the story they may want to share. 3. Use different platforms - Be creative but also be mindful of wherever you want to do business - your website, google, social media, newsletters, among others. Choose one that most likely will attract your customers. 4. See it as a process - To make the testimonial process a bit smoother, make it part of your official process. A script would be a great way to do it. Webinar Registration Whether you're looking to launch a business or scale it to the next level, this episode is for you. Lianne Kim has spent the last two decades marketing and selling world-class services and experiences. Once she became good at sales, she actually really loved it. In 2016, Lianne began doing sales consulting for small businesses and she discovered her true passion, helping female entrepreneurs do what they love and make great money. She left a stable sales career to pursue her passion fulltime and never looked back. She is a living proof that anything is possible with a little mindset, strategy and hustle. Today, she discussed 3 strategies that would help female entrepreneurs: 1. WHAT are you spending your time on - Look back in the last two weeks and figure out if the things you are doing actually align with what brings you joy and excitement. 2. WHO you are serving - You are gifted and you deserve to work with a select few who truly value what you bring to the table. 3. WHEN should you do it - Be mindful when making your to-do lists: group tasks together in a way that makes sense and creates a good flow, practice "time blocking" by keeping non-negotiable priorities on the list. Special Announcement! Want to Learn 5 Pillar Framework to Start and Grow your Creative Business? Join us on September 17th at 8PM EST, where we uncover these 5 most critical ingredients you need to become an unstoppable Creative CEO. Webinar Registration Initial years of a business are the most crucial years. These are the years when you are building the foundation, planting the seeds for the future and a stepping stone to what your ultimate vision will manifest into. Based on various statistics, 50% of small businesses fail within five years. That’s a huge number. In this episode, I wanted to share 6 mistakes creative business owners are doing, making it difficult to survive in the long run. 1. Not having clarity on your vision - Not knowing major elements such as: your ideal client, specific niche, and strengths will stop you from moving into the right direction. 2. Setting goals without actions - Goals should be SMART: specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based. Reassessing them regularly every 90 days, and breaking them down into weekly tasks in light of new data would also be ideal. 3. Unfocused - Don't be bogged down by minor details. Focus on things that actually help you generate revenue which also resonates with you, 4. Not finding a mentor - Having a D.I.Y. mentally is not gonna take you much further ahead. Instead, surround yourself with like-minded people to bounce off ideas with. 5. Not investing in yourself - Learn to invest in habits or routines that help your personal development as an entrepreneur and actually put your learnings into action. 6. Working on too many actions and ideas - Pause. Write down projects you want to do. Then review, highlight, and choose just one thing to execute in 90 days and see where it gets you. Then start on another one. This will lessen mental pressure and overload.
