Site template features and usage Like the Haven site template we talked about a couple of weeks ago, Convivial Gov gives you a curated stack plus demo content, and in this case hands you a robust, ready-to-customize government site. Because it's built on Drupal CMS, you get all the latest Drupal tooling: Canvas for visual page building, Single Directory Components, and Recipes. The front end is Morpht's Morphos theme, built on Tailwind and DaisyUI, so you get dark mode, multiple colour palettes, and a big library of editor-friendly components out of the box. It's worth mentioning that using the Morphos theme on a production site requires a paid license The provided components are sorted into six buckets: container, content, child, element, background, and behavior. They include fun ones like scroll reveal and a colour palette switching behavior The content model is broad. You get seven content types: Page, Section, Article, Publication, Resource, Topic, and Audience. And, they come with a stack of teaser and card view modes to display them. The whole point is no-code: a site builder can compose sophisticated pages in Canvas without ever touching a template. One thing to watch: the default timezone is Australia/Sydney out of the box It's also worth comparing Convivial Gov to another site template called Local. Both dropped in March 2026, both are Canvas-based Drupal CMS site templates for the public sector, and both lean on ECA for automation — so there's real common ground. The difference is scope and mechanism. Local, from Annertech, is narrowly purpose-built for local councils and community-service directories: it ships a specific service information architecture — Service and Service Landing content types — with ECA wired so section pages stay in sync when service pages get published or updated, taking its cues from the gov.uk design system. Convivial Gov goes the other way — it's design-system-led and general-purpose, a broad component library and content model meant for any government, agency, or marketing site rather than one particular workflow.

Christian Bubenzer hat sich das Ziel gesetzt, ein Drittel der deutschen Handelsflotte unter die deutsche Flagge zu bringen. Der Einflaggungsmanager des Bundesverkehrsministeriums führt viele Gespräche mit Reedereien, die Aufmerksamkeit ist so groß wie viele Jahre nicht mehr. Auch die neue Schiffsbesetzungversordnung spielt dabei eine Rolle. Viele Reedereien, „die schon lange lange nicht mehr auf die deutsche Flagge gesetzt haben“ könne man mittlerweile überzeugen, berichtet Bubenzer exklusiv im HANSA Podcast. Bubenzer spricht über konkrete Zahlen an Schiffen mit Schwarz-Rot-Gold am Heck. Die Rede ist unter anderem von „langsamer Steigerung“ und „Steigerungsfähigkeit“. In den letzten zweieinhalb Jahren sei man mit dem Team der BG Verkehr und gemeinsam mit dem Bundesverkehrsministerium „richtig durchgestartet“. Zentral sei ein intensiver Dialog mit Reedereien gewesen, aus dem eine lange Liste an Verbesserungswünschen in punkto Service, Bürokratie und Rechtslage entstand. „Von der Liste haben wir einiges abgearbeitet. Es kommt noch einiges." Ein Grund für das zunehmende Interesse ist laut Bubenzer auch die Geopolitik und die angespannte Sicherheitslage in einigen Seegebieten wie unter anderem der Straße von Hormus. „Wir leben in unsicheren Zeiten, da wird das Thema Flagge wichtiger“, berichtet er aus Gesprächen hinter verschlossenen Türen und geht auf die Themen „Resilienz eines Wirtschaftsstandortes“ und „Kernflotte für das Land“ sowie den Schutz deutscher Schiffe in Krisen- und Kriegsgebieten ein. Ein anderes wichtiges Thema – für Bubenzer eine der wichtigsten Verbesserungen – ist die Anpassung der Schiffsbesetzungsverordnung. Im Kern geht es darum, dass der Kapitän nicht mehr zwingend aus einem EU-Land kommen muss, wenn man die deutsche Flagge führen will. In der Podcast-Episode geht es um die Anforderungen und verschiedene Voraussetzungen, die dafür seitens der Reederei erfüllt werden müssen. Nicht zuletzt setzen Bubenzer und sein Team auf ein laufendes Markterkundungsverfahren unter der Federführung des Bundesamts für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie. Reeder werden befragt, ob sie eine Service-Agentur für die deutsche Flagge wollen – analog zu den Einrichtungen anderer internationaler Flaggen. Bubenzer spricht über mögliche Details eines One-Stop-Shops – und nicht zuletzt über die vieldiskutierte und seit Jahren von den Reedern geforderte „einheitliche Flaggenstaatsverwaltung“. Der Experte kündigt weitere Einflaggungen an und berichtet von Gesprächen mit vielen Reedereien: „Besonders freut uns, dass es uns zunehmend gelingt, Reedereien zu überzeugen, die schon lange, lange nicht mehr auf die deutsche Flagge gesetzt haben. Das ist ein gutes Zeichen.“ Nicht zuletzt dreht sich das Gespräch um konkrete Zahlen: Je nach Berechnungsweise ist die Zahl ausgeflaggter Schiffe mehr als drei oder fast sechs Mal so hoch wie die unter Deutschland-Flagge (es gibt eine neue Berechnungsmethode). Das sei „natürlich ein Punkt, der uns definitiv nicht zufriedenstellt“. Eine offizielle Zielmarke gibt es zwar nicht. Bubenzer spricht darüber, wann er zufrieden ist und nennt sein ganz persönliches Ziel: „ein Drittel der deutschen Handelsflotte unter deutscher Flagge“. Das müsse möglich sein. You got the email, you're confused, let's break it downSo Tailwind sent out an email about something called an MCP server, and if you read it and thought "what does that even mean," you're not alone. Let's break it down simply. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. Think of it as a translator between AI assistants, like Claude or ChatGPT, and the software you already use. Before this, if you wanted an AI to help with a task, you'd copy information out of one app, paste it into your AI chat, get a response, then copy that back into the other app. Clunky. MCP removes that step. It lets your AI assistant talk directly to Tailwind and actually do things inside it. So now, instead of opening the Tailwind dashboard, you can tell your AI assistant to schedule a Pin, and it happens. That's what the email was announcing.Does this fit into your existing workflow, and is it even necessary?Here's the question I'd actually ask if I got that email. If you're already using Tailwind to schedule, does this save you time? Fair question, because scheduling itself isn't really the bottleneck Tailwind already solves. The real time savings comes from cutting out the handoff between drafting your content and publishing it. Right now your workflow could look like this. You draft your pin copy somewhere, then you go open Tailwind, upload the image, paste in the title and description, pick the board, hit schedule. That's two tools and at least one copy-paste step. With MCP, drafting and scheduling happen in the same conversation. You write the pin copy with your AI, and it just does that last step for you. One less tool, one less switch.But I'll be honest with you. If you're just batch pinning of pre-made images with no copy to write, Tailwind's own scheduler is already fast, and this won't feel meaningfully different. It shines when content creation and scheduling are two separate steps you're doing back to back. This collapses them into one. So is it necessary? No. Is it useful if your workflow already starts with writing? Yes.How to leverage AI for your Pinterest marketingIf you're going to use AI for Pinterest at all, the highest value spot isn't the scheduling piece, it's the content piece. Use it to draft pin titles and descriptions, brainstorm keyword variations, repurpose a blog post or podcast episode into pin copy, or review what you already have scheduled and catch gaps. The AI is most useful the moment before something needs to be written, not the moment it needs to be clicked.A few questions to ask yourself before you adopt thisBefore you add any new tool or integration to your workflow, ask yourself these:Does this remove a step I'm already doing, or does it just add a new thing to learn?Is my current bottleneck actually scheduling, or is it content creation?Will I actually use this weekly, or is it a shiny new feature I'll try once and forget?Does this fit how my team already works, or does it require retraining everyone?If you can't answer yes to at least one of those in a way that saves you real time, it's fine to let this one sit for now. In this episode of the ZenRUN Podcast, I chat with Western Australian ultra runner David Martin. David works in IT and finance, once spent his teenage years sailing yachts to Rottnest Island, accidentally became president of AURA, owns several running phones and has a collection of boxer shorts chosen by his children for different stages of his ultra races. As you do. David grew up in Fremantle in a multicultural family, with a Polish mum and Russian/Ukrainian family heritage on his dad's side. He describes himself as much more academic than sporty, although he always enjoyed running, even when he was near the back of the school cross-country field. His adult running journey began when a mate entered a team in the Busselton Half Ironman without actually having a team. David agreed to run the half marathon leg, downloaded a sub-two-hour training plan and finished in 1:59:40. Mission accomplished. From there came half marathons, trail races and a growing curiosity about how far he could go. But in 2020, everything changed. After taking steroids for a medical condition, David developed severe damage in his hips. A surgeon told him his left hip was unsalvageable, his right hip was at risk and he would probably need a hip replacement within 18 months. He was also told he would never run again. David fainted in the surgeon's office. After spending several years away from running, he gradually began walking again. Walking felt too slow, so he tried running. There was no pain. He increased the distance, completed a 10km event, progressed to a half marathon and then decided to run almost every half marathon he could find in Western Australia. Naturally, this eventually led him to the Feral Pig 50km. From there, David's running journey escalated rather quickly. He jumped from 50km to the Delirious W.E.S.T. 100 miler, then completed Cape to Cape, Feral Pig and other major ultras before stepping up to the Delirious W.E.S.T. 200 miler. David shares how he mentally approached the 200 miler by treating the first 100 miles as the journey to the start line of a race he already knew he could complete. It worked. Although there were some very dark moments, including briefly hoping a snake might bite him so he would have a legitimate reason to stop. Later in the race, when he actually encountered snakes, his attitude had changed considerably. “Don't you dare.” We talk about the strange mental places ultra running can take you, what it feels like to spend days alone on the trail and how David deliberately clears unfinished conversations, work problems and life admin before a race. Instead of using the trail to solve problems, David tries to arrive with what he calls an “empty brain”. He focuses on the scenery, wildlife, people and experience around him. David rarely listens to anything while running because he wants to fully experience nature, although during the lowest points of Delirious he discovered that the right song could help change his mood and get him moving again. We also chat about: Why David runs with a separate phone during races His fear of spiders and the discovery of “spider baseball” The importance of respecting the trail, wildlife and other runners Why his children choose his race outfits Kermit, Bluey, SpongeBob and shark boxer shorts Accidentally leaving two left socks at an aid station Blisters, swollen feet and losing six toenails His first trip to emergency after Delirious Why his physio believes strong muscles may help protect his damaged hips His dream of finding the limits of how far he can go The Bibbulmun Track and fastest known time ideas Why race entries help give his training a clear purpose The impact ultra training has on family life The pride, fear and support that comes from David's wife and children Why he believes runners rarely achieve these things alone The community of volunteers, medics, physios, family and fellow runners who help us reach the finish line David also shares plenty of practical lessons from his rapid rise through the ultra distances. David's Running Tips Build gradually, even when the next challenge feels exciting David used marathons, 50km events and looped ultras to test his body, equipment and nutrition before moving into longer distances. Train on the terrain you will race on Before his first marathon, David repeatedly drove an hour each way to practise on the actual course. Use smaller events to test your systems David used a looped 50-mile event to test shoes, nutrition, Tailwind and race equipment before attempting his first 100 miler. Expect your feet to swell David loosens his shoelaces later in races and plans shoe and sock changes around how his feet respond over long distances. Strength work matters After being told he would need a hip replacement, David built strength around his hips. His physio now believes that this additional muscular support may help him avoid surgery. Deal with life before you reach the start line David tries to resolve difficult conversations, emails and unfinished problems before racing so he can stay present rather than spending hours mentally stewing over something he cannot fix from the trail. Let the event become your permission to disconnect During long races, David removes work email, uses a separate phone and allows himself to be unreachable. Respect the environment and the people around you Carry the required safety equipment, look after other runners, respect wildlife and remember that the next person along the trail may be the one who helps you in an emergency. Do not assume you have to do it alone David credits fellow runners, race volunteers, family members, medics, his physio and the broader trail community with helping him reach the start and finish lines. Carry toilet paper or wet wipes This lesson may have been learned the hard way on a beach at 3am during Delirious. David's message is simple. Do not assume that a huge running goal is impossible. You may not know how you will reach it yet, but you can learn, build experience and find people who will help you along the way. I'm so excited to share this conversation with Ryan Montgomery, who placed third at Western States this year in a huge breakthrough race. The top three men all broke Jim Walmsley's previous course record, with Ryan running 13:53. This was his fourth consecutive year running Western States after placing seventh twice, and to say this was a breakthrough is a bit of an understatement. Being in the top 10 at Western States is a huge deal, but being on the podium is an even bigger deal. We talk about Ryan's history with running, how he fell in love with long distances, and the journey it took to get to this level. A lot of people might not know that his first 100-mile race took him 28 hours. The process he's walked through to achieve these really high-level goals is fascinating. He is truly dedicated to the craft. We also get into the backstory of Ryan's life and so much more. He set the FKT on the Wonderland Trail in 2020, placed second at the Javelina 100 in 2021, and recently earned his MBA from Dartmouth.
