This is an episode that you do not want to miss!! About our Special Guest: Dana S. Bicks, a Severna Park, Maryland native, was born a left-handed dyslexic, and falsely labeled “retarded” as a young child. He struggled throughout his life with the disability until the age of sixty. Then one night, a miracle occurred. God, in His infinite grace and wisdom, awoke Dana and asked him to be a writer of His messages to the world. Shortly after finding humor in God’s suggestion, Dana picked up a pen. He began writing, right-handed nonetheless, Christian struggles of life, and prayers ascribed to him by the Lord. In June 2017, Dana and his wife created this inspirational blog which currently maintains 19.6 million readers in twenty-nine countries across the world. It has won multi-awards including a Top 30 Inspirational Blog Websites to follow in 2018 as awarded by Feedspot.com in May 2018. His blog is followed by numerous celebrities, ministries, authors, and people in all walks of life. Only God’s hand could allow an unexperienced writer to grow a fellowship of such success in less than a year! Dana Bicks shares these stories in his beautiful books, blogs, and social media platforms. Currently, his newest inspirational book series, “There In God’s Grace”, is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2018. Dana’s creative, talented writing can only be heaven sent! Be sure to mark your calendar to tune in and invite your friends. Expect to be inspired!
Recently, I was going through some old family photos and came across one from about 15 years ago which made me laugh. I remember that day so well because I wanted everything to be perfect and that didn’t happen. The whole family was together, including my stepson, his wife, and our granddaughter. During the photoshoot, the photographer did something to make my husband mad, so he wanted to leave and not continue with the shoot. In the picture, my one daughter has a funky smile, my other daughter’s hair was all messed, my husband has an angry look on his face, and my eyes are all red from crying. What a mess…our family pictures were ruined!! I think this story represents so many areas of our life. We want things to be perfect that we neglect to see the real beauty in the moment. We have to have things OUR way and when it doesn’t go according to plan, we freak out. Sometimes we forget to see the big picture and we are not intentional with making memories that we can enjoy for a lifetime. My husband has since passed away and my kids are grown adults…what I wouldn’t give to have another opportunity of taking a family photo, even if it didn’t turn out so perfect. To be honest, it’s probably my favorite picture that I have with my family! You see, everything doesn’t have to be perfect to enjoy your life! On the next episode of DivaTalkRadio, I will be sharing my three areas of intentional focus for 2017. You are personally invited to join me as I hope to encourage you to create areas of intentional focus in your life so that you, too, can enjoy #theblessedlife!

Join Kelli and Maria and start your journey on reclaiming, realigning, and reimagining your MIDLIFE dream life!

What does natural health mean to women? We will find out on today's show with Host, Kelli Claypool, as she talks with Dr. Stephen and Janet Lewis of Doctors Nutrition. Natural health is the natural approach to healing and maintaining good health. It’s the practice that works on the premise of when the body is nourished naturally it can heal itself and possibly even prevent some illnesses. For women this means taking care of your health in natural ways including eating right, exercising, practicing holistic medicine and maintaining a healthy emotional sense. A well-balanced diet is almost impossible to achieve from today’s food sources. And if you have dieted for any number of years, your body has most likely been deprived of a large number of vitamins and minerals it needs. Supplements will speed up the process of increasing your positive health benefits since they help the body detoxify and strengthen the immune system. Women who suffer from PMS, menopausal symptoms and chronic backaches among other health problems often can’t find the relief from conventional health care. However many find that regular exercise reduces the pain and in some cases stops it completely. Natural Medicine is meant to be a preventative form of health care. There are times when even the body’s natural defenses are not enough and disease such as cancer or chronic pain still occurs. Alternative medicine treatments are natural and non-invasive. The idea is to nurture a well-balanced and well-nourished body that can fight infections, resist disease and heal itself while aging gracefully. We will be discussing all of this and so much more on the next DivaTalkRadio show.

Join our host, Kelli Claypool, as she talks with Sam Yohannes and inspires you to take a deeper walk with God. You were uniquely and wonderfully made!
Divas, we are talking about style and beauty today! Woohoo...one of my favorite topics! In her book, Quintessential Style, Author Janna Beatty, discusses "the art of illusion" when it comes to the clothes we wear as well as our handbags. She says... "MOVING LINES: Did you realize the placement of your shoulder or handbag could make you look wider? For example, if you carry a large shoulder bag at hip level, it is visually extending your hipline. That's right. It actually makes you appear broader. So be strategic when choosing handbag styles. Opt for styles that allow you to lengthen or shorten your shoulder strap. Oftentimes, you can even tie a knot in the strap or double it up to shorten it." WHAT? I've been doing it wrong ALL these years!! I certainly do not need to look wider at the hips...for real! This is going to be a fun show! I will put Janna on the hot seat and ask her all the tough questions, like colors...what do our choice of colors say about us. The next time you send a photo, a SnapChat, or decide to meet a new friend, consider the color of what you're wearing (your clothes) is saying about it. Janna says, "it can make or break a first impression." As time permits, I'll ask her about body shapes; shopping for the 'right fit' instead of the right size; what does 'intentional dressing' mean; and much, much more! Divas, DO NOT miss this show. I guarantee it will be informative and tons of fun! Our interactive chat room will be open during the live show to take your questions and share your comments. Invite your girlfriends! That's all for now! Until next time, wear your heels well and be blessed!
So Divas, have you thought about going back to school and getting a college education? I think about it all the time! Now that my youngest child has moved away to college, I have plenty of time to devote to furthering my education and it’s definitely something that I’m considering. One of the things that interests me is taking online college courses. In this episode of DivaTalkRadio, I will be talking with Jacqueline Myers about that very subject…online college courses. If this peaks your interest, listen in as we plan to talk about the pros and cons of online college courses. As always, our online chat room will be open during the live show for you to ask questions, share your ah-ha moments, or simply acknowledge what we’re discussing. Invite your friends to join us! Come prepared and I’ll see YOU on the show! ~ xoxo Kelli ~ ABOUT OUR GUEST: Jacqueline Myers has been improving writing skills since the 1990’s and is still hard at work, struggling to put an end to comma splices and stamp out accidental plagiarism. She is an online college English professor and a freelance writer & editor, as well as the owner & writing expert at Nitty-Gritty English, a site dedicated to providing academic writing tips to the reluctant college writer.
Self publishing a book can be worth it if you understand the process. During today's show, we will explore some of those steps and help you decide is self-publishing is right for you! Plan to join Kelli Claypool in this refreshing episode of DivaTalkRadio.
We are pleased to have Author Patricia Harman back with us on DivaTalkRadio. Her last appearance was 4 years ago, almost to the day, and she returns to discuss the power of optimism and love to overcome the most trying circumstances and times. For many years, Patricia (Patsy) worked as a midwife, delivering babies and caring for women across the US and in rural communes. Her story is encouraging, empowering, and exciting. Patsy has published in The Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health and The Journal of Sigma Theta Tau for Nursing Scholarship as well as alternative publications. She is a regular presenter at national midwifery conferences and her first novel, The Midwife of Hope River was awarded book of the year by the American College of Nurse Midwives in 2014. About her latest book: The Reluctant Midwife The Great Depression has hit West Virginia hard. Men are out of work; women struggle to feed hungry children. Luckily, Nurse Becky Myers has returned to care for them. While she can handle most situations, Becky is still uneasy helping women deliver their babies. For these mothers-to-be, she relies on an experienced midwife, her dear friend Patience Murphy. Though she is happy to be back in Hope River, time and experience have tempered Becky’s cheerfulness-as tragedy has destroyed the vibrant spirit of her former employer Dr Isaac Blum, who has accompanied her. Patience too has changed. Married and expecting a baby herself, she is relying on Becky to keep the mothers of Hope River safe. But becoming a midwife and ushering precious new life into the world is not Becky’s only challenge. Her skills and courage will be tested when a calamitous forest fire blazes through a Civilian Conservation Corps camp. And she must find a way to bring Isaac back to life and rediscover the hope they both need to go on.
In this episode of DivaTalkRadio, I will share the 5 things I've learned about being a widow. On March 19 of this year (2015), my darling and most loving husband died in my arms after battling liver cancer. While I thought I was prepared, the realization of his death put me in a total tailspin. From personally witnessing what the body goes through as it is dying, the shutting down of organs, the color changes of the skin, the smell...smell of death and dying; to feeling alone, afraid, panicking, and losing hope of growing old together. The experience was hard and continues to be hard today. Through my faith and close friends, I'm slowly walking in GRACE and learning about myself everyday. I'm learning that there are days that I feel on top of the world, then other days that I'm paralyzed and not wanting to get out of bed. However, through it all, I am a survivor. From this episode, my desire is that you will experience HOPE in that no matter what obstacles you are facing that you, too, will become an OVERCOMER! Be sure to join me! xoxo Kelli Claypool Host of DivaTalkRadio
I absolutely love Meghan Trainor's song 'All About That Bass' because it makes any Diva of any size feel good about themselves. I especially love the line in the song that says "every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top". It doesn't matter what you look like, the size of clothes, the color of your hair...Diva's, YOU are perfect!! I love today's DivaTalkRadio Show Guest, Ms. Camay McClure because she is a true DIVA in her own right. Ms. Camay holds a National Lifetime Title in Plus Size Pageantry, being crowned for her year of service, coaching and mentoring women across the country, teaching them to love themselves and love their bodies. There were many moments in Ms. Camay’s pageant journey to celebrate, however, there were more moments of heartbreak and pain, hurt and disappointment, even moments of public defamation, however, she never allowed any of that to defeat her. She continued on her journey of making a difference in the world, using all of the tests in pageantry as her testimony to other women who may have experienced similar challenges. “I have always been very confident and always had a positive self-image. I have always encouraged other women who struggle with their weight and body image to love their bodies-even women who are not plus size.”
Cancer is such an ugly word, yet it affects millions of homes everyday, including mine. Watching my husband's body whittle away from this awful disease, I remind myself that God is faithful. He's my strong tower during the times that I am weak. Matthew 17:20 says "for if you had faith even as small as a tiny mustard seed you could say to this mountain, 'move', and it would go far away. Nothing would be impossible." What Jesus is saying here is, if you are facing a problem that seems as big and immovable as a mountain, turn your eyes from the mountain and focus on Him. Our special guest for this episode of DivaTalkRadio, Charlotte Cole, believed that God was in control when she was diagnosed with cancer in July of 2011. Rather than resisting, she had faith and embraced the journey that God had planned for her. Having walked through some of life’s biggest trials like a life touched by addiction, fighting stage 3 rectal cancer while raising 4 sons, and learning how to commit her heart to the Lord in the trials and tribulations that surface in marriage, Charlotte takes the lessons she has learned and creatively presents how women can thrive through biblical living today. I know without a shadow of doubt that this episode of DivaTalkRadio will inspire you...empower you...ignite a fire within you. Plan to join me during the LIVE show.

When looking for property in the mountains, I grew frustrated by what the Realtor was showing me. Nothing fit my specifications, I was probably over-thinking things, as I often do. Then, I stepped foot on a piece of property and I knew in my gut that it was the one. I had to have this piece of property but I knew nothing about it. I felt it in my being that it was to be mine. How did I know? Intuition! As a mom, you know what’s going on with your kids without them even telling you. It’s what I call a ‘momma’s intuition’ and it’s real! You know when you’re kid is not telling the truth…how? You just know. You know something is wrong (or right) even before they say something. Momma just knows! “Intuition, or a sixth sense, is something many of us rely on for snap judgments and often life-altering decisions. But what exactly is it? A 2008 study in the British Journal of Psychology defined intuition as what happens when the brain draws on past experiences and external cues to make a decision — but it happens so fast that the reaction is at an unconscious level.” (webMD.com) It’s the gut feeling you get when faced with making a decision. I knew in my gut that I had to buy this mountain property…it’s the farm that I live on today. I knew when my daughters were having boyfriend troubles before they told me. It’s a woman’s intuition…something that a man rarely has. It’s the inner voice that speaks to you and when you’re tuned in, you are powerful! So how do you use intuition to unleash your personal greatness? Our guest, Beverley Golden, will share step-by-step ways to do just that on this episode of DivaTalkRadio.

I’m READY to read, um, I mean listen! Audio Author, Adele Park, is our next guest on DivaTalkRadio! Adele is the winner of the prestigious 2011 Audi Award for Best Multi-Voiced Performance of an audio book. Yikes! Another Quirky Audio Book is an unusual audio book in the way it was produced. Adele says this, “After spending 20 years working as a television and radio news reporter, anchor and on-air personality, I decided to put together my own media company. I formed Straight to Audio Productions, L.L.C. in 2008 and produced my first audio book. Having my own studio allows me to really indulge my inner production geek. Hey, EVERYONE has SOME kind of BAGGAGE! Right? It’s just that SOME of us has MORE than others! Baggage comes in many SHAPES and SIZES! And, we are NOT talking about luggage! Sometimes, the baggage that INVADES our life can be EXTREMELY overwhelming. It can cause us to TOTALLY STRESS OUT or make us not want to care. Or, it can make us LAUGH! Let me introduce you to Kerry Kendall. Kerry knows about baggage and she has learned to LAUGH! As stated by Kerry: I used to perform like a stand-up comic in my psychiatrist’s office, relaying all the antics of my husband, his illustrious offspring and their co-dependent mother. That historic day when Dr. Perera said, “Goot for you!” (“Good for You!” with a slight Indian accent), I knew I had made progress. I had the tools to survive. And he led me to believe that the entertainment value of my story (hey, he laughed) would make a good book or sit com. However, there is a serious warning inside “Goot for You!” If you are going to marry a person with “baggage” you must be prepared to carry the load. You often have to carry it by yourself. Sometimes it’s heavy enough to break you. Don’t let it. You DO NOT want to miss this show. Kerry will entertain you with her story. As always, Kelli brings the most amazing guests to DivaTalkRadio. Be sure to share this information with your friends so they can be inspired, empowered and encouraged, too.

DANGER? From where? My CHOLESTEROL? I take the med's my DOCTOR prescribes. My cholesterol is UNDER control! WHY do I NEED anything more? Dr. Paul Faerstein, our next guest on DivaTalkRadio, is the Chief Science Officer at Prescription Vitamins LLC and owner of Zuckerman Pharmacy in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Faerstein is concerned with statin drugs and the possible side affects that can happen. Dr. Faerstein says, “Statins are good drugs that can save lives, but, as with most medications, their benefits come with a price. The key is to leverage these benefits, while preventing this nutrient depletion that can also seriously harm us. In some cases, the negative side effects can be more serious than expected, and obscure enough that the patient doesn't make the connection. Some can, ironically, increase the odds of heart attack and stroke, while others have been known to cause an Alzheimer’s-like condition called Trans Global Amnesia." Statinzyme could be the answer to the statin problems. It is a supplement that contains high-potency fish oil, evening primrose oil, coenzyme Q10, flax seed oil, natural vitamin D3, resveratrol, folic acid, B12 and B6. You DO NOT want to miss this show. How's LIFE? Is it FULL of LAUGHTER? Is is FULL of JOY? Is it totally MUNDANE? Are we USING every PRECIOUS moment we have to LIVE? Are we saying it's GOOD TO BE ALIVE? How do we handle LIFE when BAD THINGS HAPPEN? Meet Melinda Minton; a mother, a successful business woman, a world explorer, an author, a woman overflowing with laughter and a bi-lateral amputee. Listen to her story of flu-like symptoms that was found to be Necrotizing Fasciitis, a Strep A germ that kills more often than not. Her journey that includes: "death", a coma, listening to the doctors tell her she would lose part of her lips, part of her tongue, and her legs, the painful rehabilitation, the fitting of prosthesis, learning to crawl and walk again. And, most importantly, Melinda LAUGHS! She is able to say with all confidence, "IT'S GOOD TO BE ALIVE!" Melinda Minton, author of RAW, extreme living, states on her website: "It is interesting that many respond to my physical presence as if I were a live, vibrant, running around, laughing two-footed creature and I am. It is only when they hear of a “disability” that their perspective changes. I like to live as if this were my last moment so attacking the joy that life so willingly offers has always been my only option. My children have aptly pointed out that if I ever need to I can take my legs off and use them for something…to dig a trench, self defense, to plant a tree or to place the foundation for something else that I am building."
We are UNIQUE! We have POWER! Since we are UNIQUE and have POWER, then we have the ability to CHANGE and SHAPE our lives. DivaTalkRadio Guest, Gordana Biernat, believes this to be true. We each have the unique, powerful ability to change our reality. Her goal is to empower individuals, people of leadership and companies with the knowledge of Quantum Leadership. Gordana says on her website: "What you conceive and believe is what you receive. When you put an apple-seed in the ground you expect an apple tree to grow, don’t you? You not only expect it, you know it will grow. It is so because nature follows the divine law without questioning it and that is why ”what is sowed is received”. Somehow we have forgotten that our thoughts are just like the seeds in nature and that our thoughts are ”things” in creation. The laws that conduct nature are identical to the laws that govern thought. Every thought is like a seed that manifests in our reality. Every single one. If you had a garden would you not be careful of what seeds you put in the soil? Would you not plan in forehand what trees and plants you want to grow in your garden?" We FACE this so OFTEN in our life. It’s called CHANGE. Change is GOOD, EASY and FUN! Right? Honestly, change can be GOOD, but it isn’t always EASY and it isn’t always FUN! We see new OPPORTUNITIES or new POSSIBILITIES, but we are sometimes AFRAID to jump in because it means CHANGE! Jan White, LFIBA, RMT, D.D., is a passionate, holistic counselor that assists individuals, families and companies to face the challenges of change. Change can come from different directions and sometimes it will cause fear. Jan has developed a technique that teaches how to make the best choice to face the change and the fear. As Jan says: Remember when times appeared simpler, when you felt happier, and your dreams and intentions were just on the horizon, waiting for you to reach up and grab them? Then Life happened and somehow you got lost in the shuffle. You can rekindle those feelings of happiness and expectation again … It is time to rediscover Who You Really Are NOW and to learn (AND USE) the process within Change.
