Redefining success is an empowering process that leads to genuine fulfillment. By embracing internal journeys, focusing on intrinsic motivations, and valuing inherent worth, individuals can break free from societal pressures and achieve a more balanced and meaningful life.Redefining success begins with Unlocking ConfidenceConfidence is a cornerstone of personal and professional success, yet many struggle to define or cultivate it.Confidence and success are two words often thrown around in the world of coaching and personal development. However, their true definitions go beyond surface-level interpretations. Delving deep into these concepts can reveal profound insights and strategies essential for coaches and their clients. This blog post encapsulates a recent enlightening conversation, providing valuable takeaways for those seeking to transform their approach to confidence and success. What is True Confidence?Confidence often feels like an elusive quality that many strive to define and cultivate. Rachel Brooks says it's not just about exterior accomplishments or outward appearances. True confidence starts within.Rachel elaborates that real confidence is about sifting through life experiences to discern what serves us in the present moment. It's about validating what's inherently valuable and beautiful within oneself, something easily dismissed in the rush of daily life. The Journey WithinConfidence, like many admired traits, starts from within. This journey often involves rediscovering and nurturing an inner spark that life's challenges might have dimmed. Individuals can gradually transform their external realities by focusing on what's within. The Power of StruggleThe butterfly's struggle to escape its cocoon is a perfect analogy. This struggle is not just a hardship but a necessary process that enables the butterfly to develop strength. Similarly, life's challenges, traumas, and societal pressures shape us as individuals and can lead us to evolve into more confident and capable versions of ourselves.Redefining SuccessThe concept of success often correlates with achievements and external validation. However, we challenge you to redefine your definition of success and focus on the importance of fulfillment.Fulfillment is subjective and varies from person to person. It's an art that requires introspection and alignment with one's core values and purpose. Rather than working to acquire accolades, focus on finding genuine fulfillment in your daily activities. Redefining success by focusing on what brings you joy is part of how you can uniquely bring your gifts to your coaching clients and others.About Rachel BrooksRachel Brooks is a multi-passionate entrepreneur, speaker, author, and podcaster. Welcome back to another episode of the Love, Sex, and Freedom podcast. Today's episode features a recent conversation that Raven and Tara had on Instagram Live, where they discuss the hugely important and often overlooked art of clear communication. Mastering this skill and being able to say how we feel and what we want (and don't want) can have a huge impact on our lives, and nowhere is this more apparent than in romantic relationships. Raven's own journey from feeling stifled and blocked in previous relationships to today, where she is able to express her needs without fear, is evidence of how clear communication can unlock the confident woman within.Raven shares the three key practices that have supported her in communicating confidently: feeling the depths of her emotions before speaking, steering conversations towards what she wants rather than what she doesn't, and trusting the body's signals over the mind's analysis.Tara and Raven also discuss the powerful role that breathwork can play in grounding us and how this can enable healthier communication. So if you're looking for ways to have more mindful communication and a deeper understanding of yourself and others, this episode is for you.Key takeaways from this episode:- [09:48] Exploring Nonverbal Communication and Its Impact- [14:16] Embracing Vulnerability for Deeper Connection- [18:49] The Paradigm Shift: Embodying Authentic Expression- [23:51] Practical Steps Towards Embodied Communication- [30:33] Navigating Emotional Dynamics in Relationships- [37:35] Exploring Sexual Communication and Desires- [42:11] Understanding and Communicating Personal Needs- [43:47] The Impact of Communication on Personal Growth and RelationshipsQuotes from Episode:“Vulnerability requires letting go of pride and risking rejection. I'm super excited about our guest today, Lydia Fenet. As I mentioned during the show, it was fate that I had Lydia on. So many people kept recommending that I read Lydia's finished book, The Most Powerful Woman in the Room Is You, so I took it as a sign and grabbed a copy. I loved the book and thought Lydia would be a good guest for the show. And do you know what happened? Poof! I received an email from Lydia's podcast placement agency asking if she could be on the show. I was like, yes please! And after the recording of this show, I recently finished her second book, Claim Your Confidence: Unlock Your Superpower and Create the Life You Want. The lessons in that book hit me even harder and I must admit, I shed a few tears while reading the end. I highly recommend both books. And you can read them independently, so you can start with Claim Your Confidence if it appeals to you more or vice versa. Either way, Lydia was a joy to talk with and she really motivated and inspired me, and I'm sure she will do the same for you. During our conversation, Lydia and I talked about:1. Her backstory as a powerful auctioneer at Christie's and how she navigated Imposter Syndrome regularly to find success in her career.2. What led her to write her books, especially when she was working full-time and is a mom of three kiddos.3. Why self-promotion is absolutely critical for all working women.4. What the gavel strike is and how we can find our own to command attention in any room.5. How learning to love failure is a necessary part of success and growth.6. And finally, Lydia's thoughts on the mythical work-life balance.
