There are three Oscar noms that have generated praise in very different ways, which makes sense because these are three very different movies. In this episode, Dylan and Roger talk about Triangle of Sadness, Tár, and All Quiet on the Western Front. All three films are nominated for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, or Best Adapted Screenplay (All Quiet on the Western Front). The guys sip on a go-to of theirs, the delicious Purple Haze by Abita Brewing Company. Pro tip:  it's got the same alcohol % as Bud Light. On this week’s podcast we have special guest Sarah Wolfer, CEO of Girl Boss Sports, and plays womens professional football. We discuss how sports can teach us about leadership and teamwork, and the importance of encouraging and coaching young women to be leaders. I share a glass of Purple Haze Raspberry Lager from Abita Brewing Company in Covington, LA. Sarah started Girl Boss Sports because she is passionate about women supporting women, leadership, and the many benefits of sports – and at Girl Boss Sports she was able to combine all three! She has been a soccer coach for 16 years now and has consistently found a lack of female coaches no matter the geographic region where she has coached. Research shows that this is not just an issue in the sport of soccer, but across most others as well! This is an area Girl Boss Sports makes a difference in through recruiting passionate female coaches and athletes and providing training and ongoing development for all Girl Boss Sports coaching staff.Sarah has also found that every time she coach a girl’s team, she is able to connect on a deeper level with the athletes as she understands the unique experience it is to be a female athlete growing into a young woman. It is this knowledge and experience that she is excited to share with other female coaches and athletes through the reach of Girl Boss Sports. Sarah is also a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) which has given her knowledge around learning theories, child development, and mental health that have increased her skills in the coaching realm as well.As a current professional athlete herself (and former semi-professional soccer player), Sarah is able to relate to the athletes she works with on a different level. All of this combined with her 26 years of experience playing the beautiful sport of soccer have led her to where she is today – making an impact on the world by changing the life of one girl at a time.Connect with Sarah at:Instagram @ceo_sarahwolferLinkedIn @sarahwolferAbout Girl Boss Sports:They have 2 guiding values at Girl Boss Sports that determine everything they do: 1 – Keeping girls in sports by providing them with a quality sports experience and female role-models who know how to succeed as female athletes and in life.- By the age of 14, girls are twice as likely to drop out of sports- By the age of 17, half of all girls who play sports have dropped out- Yet, 96% of female C-Suite Executives report playing sports as a teenager, and over half played at the University level – proving the many benefits of sports for success later in life2 – Improving the pipeline of female sports coaches as there are way too few of them. This is something they are working to disrupt in the sports industry because:- Here in the US only 28% of youth sports coaches are women- For soccer, the number is only 21%- The higher up in administrations you go, the fewer women there are in senior level positions – for example only 20 percent of NCAA Athletic Directors are female.Connect with Girl Boss Sports at:Website: https://girlbosssports.com/Instagram @girlbosssportsFacebook @girlbosssportsTwitter @GirlBossSports1

Hashtag 59's Season 3 Podcast is 50 Episodes long and each episode will provide SIX outdoor adventures in each of the US's 50 states. We are doing these episodes in ABC Order of the states and episode eighteen is Louisiana. The goal is to give you ideas and opportunities to experience outdoor adventure anywhere and everywhere in the United States of America. Here's our list for Louisiana: 1. Tammany Trace Bike Trail is a hike and bike trail that spans from downtown Covington, through Abita Springs, Mandeville and Lacombe and ends in Slidell. The trail begins at the Covington Trailhead, right across the street from Covington Brewhouse and around the corner from Columbia St. Tap Room & Grill. From there, it runs behind the Abita Brewing Company brewery and into Abita Springs (where the Abita Brew Pub is, which has no affiliation with the brewery), then on to Mandeville, where it passes by Chafunkta Brewing and Old Rail Brewing. Old Rail is a great place to stop — in addition to local beer, it has a solid food menu and plenty of space to stretch out. (Wherever you stop, remember to drink lots of water along the way.) 2. Avery Island: For lovers of hot sauce and leisurely strolls through beautifully manicured parkland is Avery Island, a salt dome just a 20-minute drive from the Cajun town of New Iberia. Every drop of Tabasco hot sauce on Earth is bottled on Avery Island by the McIlhenny Company, the family-owned firm that has been making the world’s most iconic hot sauce since 1868. Visiting here also includes a visit to Avery Island’s Jungle Gardens, 170 acres of beautifully maintained semitropical landscape featuring massive live oaks, bamboo, and a kaleidoscope of flowers, plus alligators, deer, and a lively bird sanctuary that helped rescue the snowy egret from the brink of extinction. 3. New Orleans Jazz Festival - The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, often known as Jazz Fest, is an annual celebration of the music and culture of New Orleans and Louisiana. The term "Jazz Fest" also refers to the days surrounding the festival and the many shows at unaffiliated New Orleans nightclubs scheduled during the festival weekend. 4. Climb Driskill Mountain. 535 feet gets you to the summit of the state. A large pile of rocks marks the “summit.” 48th out of 50 for the US State’s high points. 5. Q50 Trail Running Extravaganza in Bogue Chitto State Park on 2/1. Finishers of the 52 miler and 39 miler get a walking cane and while there are 6 trail run events that day you will only get ONE shirt no matter how many you do. 6. Cemetery Ghost Walking or Cycling Tour in New Orleans. Thanks for listening to Season 3 of our podcast featuring all 50 US States and some of each state's unique and hopefully lesser known to you Outdoor Adventures.
