Today's show I sit down and talk to Rapper DaMAC, Resurrection Record's new artist. Who is Damac? The ministry began in 2007 after Michael Lacoste accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior. It happened in his dorm room at the University of Missouri – Columbia. With a newfound faith, and a passion for youth, his mission became clear: create art that magnifies Jesus and influences the youth. How would he accomplish this? By breaking boundaries and blending different genres of music. In other words, he wanted to make Deeply Anointed Music About Christ (Damac). His first concerts were in front of small groups of students, usually at local youth centers and retreats. The size of the crowd did not matter at all; it was all about sharing Jesus. Since then, Damac has gone on to do great things in Christian music. Damac has released seven albums (Immaculate, Climactic, Supremacy, Journey, The Elephant in the Room, Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil, and For Mama Mac) selling over 10,000 copies independently. In 2011, he was the New Band Showcase Winner at Cornerstone Christian Music Festival. In 2011 & 2012, he was a part of The Extreme Tour, a national Christian music tour. Also in 2011 & 2012, Damac was co-headliner/co-organizer of The Hipster-Hop Tour, a 20 city stop tour. In 2013, Damac signed a recording contract with Rottweiler Records, an independent music label. In 2014, he organized The Supremacy Tour, a 20 city stop tour. In 2015, Damac opened for Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and American Idol Season 11 Finalist, Colton Dixon. In 2016, Damac was co-headliner/co-organizer of The Make Jesus Famous Tour, an 8 city stop tour. Damac has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Christian music today, such as David Crowder, NF, Sidewalk Prophets, Micah Tyler, Jordan Felix, KB, Cory Asbury, Sho Baraka, Canon, Britt Nicole, Seventh Day Slumber, Building 429, FF5, Tenth Avenue North, Trip Lee, Derek Minor, We Are Messengers, Plumb, Gungor, Propaganda, and Lecrae. Since 2016, Damac has worked with 2x - Grammy and Dove Award nominated producer, Jonny Grande, to produce his albums “Journey”, "The Elephant in the Room", "Hear no Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil," and "For Mama Mac." Jonny Grande has produced for artists such as Jason Derulo, Ty Dolla $ign, George Clinton, Ke$ha, Zauntee, Toby Mac, Steven Malcolm (Word Records), and Tony Tillman (RMG). In 2024, Damac signed a recording contract with Resurrection Records. A decade & 500 shows later, with thousands of people reached, the mission has not changed: make music that glorifies Jesus and reaches people. Damac says, “I'm just trying to be obedient to my calling and see lives changed through the power of the Gospel.” Some things will never change

Tony started his professional career in the music industry in 1980 at the age of 16 years old. Playing drums since the age of 3 Tony had been pounding on his dad's 1948 Radio King drum set that was a fixture in the basement of his Queens, NY home! Not only was Tony's dad a professional musician but his grandfather and his great grandfather back in Italy were as well. It seems that music was Tony's destiny. With so many musicians in the family, Tony's listening palette was broad and wide! Opera and Big band jazz were the main stays on the turntables back then. As was the Beatles, Bee Gee's, James Taylor and all the pop artists of the day. One influential film Tony remembers was “The Glenn Miller Story”. In the story “Glenn” is searching for that “sound”. Tony's Mom would often refer to this, as Tony would come up from the basement looking for that “sound” on his drums - bewildered as to how the drums sounded so big and fat on the records. The quest was on for the “Holiest of Grails” a great drum sound! As time passed, Tony went on to work in the Studio and Live concerts with the likes of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Carrie Underwood, Ramone, Diane Warren, Keith Thomas, Kip Winger, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Broening, Amy Grant, Donna Summer, Roberta Flack, Paul Taylor, Discrete Drums Loop Series, Toby Mac, Cindy Bradley, Jay Soto, Stephanie Smith, Ayeisha Woods, Rebecca Saint James, Britt Nicole, Stevie B, Sweet Sensation, Kathy Troccoli, Regie Hamm, Crystal Lewis, Avalon, John Elefante, Van Zandt and on. His career has taken him from NYC to LA to his current residence in Franklin, TN. (A quaint city 14 miles outside of Music Row in downtown Nashville.) Tony is a successful session drummer and producer in Nashville. After years of touring, he had the good fortune to get into the session scene in town. The scene was healthy but still changing. Session work was going through some severe changes due to budgets and technical changes. After an encounter with LA session musician J.R Robinson, Tony was convinced that the future of tracking was going to be done in the home. Now for a gtr track or vocal overdub maybe so, but drums? Here we go again searching for that “sound” in a 25 x 25 Garage built for storing cars and gardening equipment not killer drum sounds. With much investigation and a great builder with vision, they turned the Garage and Utility room into what now is one of the busiest drum tracking rooms in town. For 8 years now Tony Morra has been tracking drums for demos, custom records, indie projects. Sounds about right, but NO! There's more!( Billy Mayes moment) Tony is tracking drums for Masters, Television, Film, Loop Libraries you hear on TV and on radio everyday. Tony is one of the leaders in home recording through the Internet since it was possible to do so! He has been a beta tester for many online programs that make it easier to do sessions in real time. What was thought to be a little drum room for some extra work has turned into a livelihood. Tony's clients span the world! These sessions are done at his home with the sounds rivaling those done in the largest and most expensive studios. A big part of Tony's career was happening when he thought he had no career! In between gigs and tours in NY when work was lean, Tony would find work as an assistant engineer at jingle studios for jingle writer friends of his. He would also get to play live drums for them from time to time, but this was when the industry was moving to drum machines and loops. These experiences, which he took for granted in that he was just “collecting a check when gigs were slow”, gave him a wealth of knowledge of the recording industry and working with midi and sequencers. Mind you this is before Pro Tools! All editing was done with a razor and a prayer. Oh and he knows how to align a tape machine! That knowledge has paid huge dividends in that beyond being an accomplished musician, he is an accomplished tracking engineer. Still Tony will bring in Top Nashville engineers to help dial in new sounds and experiment with gear. His room is outfitted with the best gear there is, Daking, API, GML, Avalon, Neve EQ's, DBX 160's, Distressors, Telefunken Pre's, vintage Orbans and so on! The mics are no joke; Neumann U47, AKG's, Audio Technica, KM 184's, modified Ribbons.........and a ProTools HDX system. It's a new world and a new frontier in recording. Tony's embracing it! Using what's available to make the finest quality Drum Tracks available for those who might never have been able to afford to do so and for those where budget is not even a concern. Tiffany loves people. People love Tiffany. She radiates the love of Jesus. Tiffany has been singing since she was a little girl. Worship music and leading people into the presence of God is one of her biggest passions. Tiffany followed her love for singing by trying to win the judges over for FOX TV's "American Idol" and the NBC hit TV show "The Voice." Tiffany recently recorded, "Love Me Now" (now available on iTunes, Spotify & more) with Dove Award-winning producer Tommee Proffitt who has recorded for NF, Britt Nicole, Colton Dixon, and many more. Tiffany loves sharing her story through her blog, speaking to women, and touring with One Goal Productions. It does not take long to listen to her heart and you fall more in love with Jesus. Tiffany is raw and real about how God carried her through being bullied as a child, suicidal thoughts, poor decisions in her faith walk, verbally abusive dating relationship, divorce, and the death of her daughter's father. God has a huge purpose for our lives, even when life seems hopeless! Tiffany would be the first to praise God for the beauty that has come from her past. Tiffany resides in Pensacola, Florida, with her husband Tom and their daughter, Annika.
Hello hello hello and welcome to Season 2 Episode 7! This week our guest is a GRAMMY-nominated songwriter, one of Nashville's most successful songwriters currently, Tofer Brown! You'll hear all about how Gavyn discovered Tofer via MySpace then later wrote songs with him on a trip to Nashville at the ripe age of 15 (lol). We've also got another week of ‘Pit or Peak', which includes a wild turn of events (a curveball if you will) for Haley, and an update on where in the world Gavyn is living (at the moment). NF revealed his next project, a mixtape titled Clouds. Looking at the tracklist on Apple Music, a quick glance through will reveal NF has two artists featuring: Hopsin and Tech N9ne. As an artist who is known for sticking to himself. The two features are somewhat unprecedented for him. NF including features is not uncommon for him. What is strange is that the two features on this mixtape are both rappers. Looking at his discography of four albums and one EP, NF has a total of seven artist features. Only one of those features raps on a track, Marty from Social Club Misfits. The rest are singers or rappers that exclusively sang on NF's records; Sasha Sloan, Ruelle, Andrea Moss, Fluerie, Jeremiah Carlson, and Britt Nicole. Mansion has three features, and Therapy Session has two. So while having two features on Clouds is not strange for the Michigan rapper, the features being rappers who, assumably, will show off their skill is new. NF has been tied to Hopsin in the past, and he has an Instagram picture with him. Hopsin veery famously has toyed with Christianity and has revealed his struggles with and eventual loss of faith. Tech9 is also an interesting choice. The rapid-fire southern rapper is sure to trade fast flows with NF. Tech9 isn't exactly a stranger to CHH either. He has spoken to Andy Mineo and they'll do something when it makes sense. So what does this mean for NF? The brand NF decides to portray is extremely stringent. The guy kept the black hoodie for his baby's gender reveal. This mixtape allows him to relax the brand and release music and content he wants to but hasn't been able to due to his brand dedication. Based on how successful NF's drive and brand has been, it's doubtful he will throw it to the wayside now. People change, however, so perhaps this is the start of a shift for the rapper. Coming off her her 2015 release, Bows & Arrows (Folk Album of the Year at the Canadian Covenant Awards), Morgan has moved through a significant season of loss and change which has proved to be rich soil for the soul and has led to the release of the 2019 EP Autumn & Eve: Old Testaments Volume I. The first in a three-part series, listeners will find a familiarity and a freshness in the moody, Americana nature of Morgan's latest EP, as she explores the places where her own story meets the ancient stories. "I do good to someone, knowing they will do good to me. I will lend to someone, knowing that they will pay me back in some way. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just not Christian." Did you know that Christianity is one of the most diverse groups of people in the world? There are believers all across the globe—people with different languages, customs, professions, and traditions. But we all unite in his name. That's been true since the very beginning, when Jesus chose his disciples. Learning to Follow Jesus (https://www.thecrossingchurch.com/podcast-series/how-to-follow-jesus/) .
