The final weeks of college football's regular season didn't disappoint as Ryan recaps everything to Michigan's shocking win over Ohio State to Texas running over Texas A&M, along with going through where things stand with the CFP as we head in Conference Championship week (3:35). Then, he heads into Week 13 of the NFL where the Eagles announced themselves as title contenders, where no one wanted to win the Chargers-Falcons game, the NFC West continues getting weird, and the Steelers are still puzzling despite being 9-3 and putting up over 40 points against the Bengals (38:40). In this Thanksgiving special episode, Nate Tice and Charles McDonald dive into a packed Week 13 slate with plenty of playoff implications. From explosive performances to key matchups, they break down the top games of the week, including the Philadelphia Eagles' high-flying offense, the Baltimore Ravens' blue-chip coaching and a Thanksgiving Day showdown between the Chicago Bears & Detroit Lions, plus a potential snow game for the Miami Dolphins in Green Bay.Charles gives his thoughts on the Eagles' thrilling win over the Los Angeles Rams, pointing out that while Philly's offense wasn't overly efficient, their ability to generate explosive plays was the difference. Meanwhile, the Ravens continue to prove their playoff contender status, with the two hosts highlighting Derrick Henry's second-half dominance in a win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The Thanksgiving games are on the agenda as well, with a look at the Bears facing the Lions. Can Chicago's offense find consistency after a rare strong outing, or will the Lions' top-tier defense stifle them? They also break down the Dolphins in the snow against the Green Bay Packers, discussing Miami's offensive firepower, the cold-weather challenge and how the Packers' defense could take advantage of the Dolphins' struggles with the run game. The duo also cover the Chargers taking on the Atlanta Falcons, who are coming off a brutal loss against Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos.Other Week 13 matchups include a deep dive into the Arizona Cardinals vs. the Minnesota Vikings, with Nate highlighting Minnesota's defense against pulling blockers and Arizona's surprisingly good defense. Meanwhile, Charles and Nate give their take on Eagles vs. Ravens, with the matchup between Lamar Jackson and the Eagles' defense shaping up to be the hoss fight of the week. Finally, the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills are discussed, with Charles hopeful that Brock Purdy will play and lead San Francisco back to form, though both Charles and Nate agree that the Bills' defensive speed and offensive depth will likely be too much for the 49ers to handle.(3:15) Eagles vs. Rams takeaways(7:20) Ravens vs. Chargers takeaways(11:20) Bears @ Lions preview(21:55) Dolphins @ Packers preview(35:50) Chargers @ Falcons preview(44:50) Cardinals @ Vikings preview(59:45) Eagles @ Ravens preview(1:09:55) 49ers @ Bills previewSubscribe to Football 301 on your favorite podcast app:

We continue our 'Teams that will shape the Draft' series by looking at three teams - Cardinals, Chargers, Falcons- in the top 10 who have a settled QB situation, but could play a major role in potentially trading with other teams who could be looking for a rookie QB early. The Athletic's Robert Mays joins Matt Harmon to breakdown how these teams can best leverage their unique situations.Harmon and Mays first look at the Arizona Cardinals who hold the No. 4 pick in the draft as well as ten other picks in the draft. The duo debate if it makes sense for the Cardinals to stay at four and take the best WR prospect available or if they could still grab one if they trade down. The two discuss if the Cardinals are one good draft away from being a contender in the NFC.The two then discuss the Los Angeles Chargers who hold the No. 5 pick and eight other picks. Harmon and Mays discuss if we should buy into Jim Harbaugh's comments about the importance of the offensive line. The two then debate if the Chargers should embrace a full rebuild given the state of their roster. Mays also wonders what the trade market and value would be for the No. 5 pick if the top four picks are QB. To end the show the two look at the Atlanta Falcons and what they need to do with the No. 8 pick now that they have Kirk Cousins as their QB in 2024. The two agree the path to contention in the NFC for the Falcons is real. Harmon is over the moon about Drake London's potential in 2024. Mays ponders if a team built the way the Falcons are can actually win a Super Bowl. 2:50 - Teams that shape the Draft: Teams in top 10 who don't need a QB4:00 - Arizona Cardinals: Stay at No. 4 and take a WR or trade back?22:55 - L.A. Chiefs beat undisciplined Ravens and 49ers come back from down 17 at half to beat Lions; Chargers, Falcons and Panthers ink their head coaches, (Seahawks and Commanders remain open); Bucks officially hire Doc Rivers and super star amateur golfer Nick Dunlap turns pro after winning the AMEX.
Matson Montilla breaksdown his thoughts on the four new head coach hirings. He explains how Harbaugh will transform the Chargers' team by forming a balanced offense. He also explains how Raheem Morris is the perfect coach for the Falcons job. Not only will Morris help the team grow, but he will also bring a much-needed culture switch. Like Morris, Callahan brings a new culture to Tennessee that will benefit the Titans. Finally, the Panthers do their best to help second-year quarterback Bryce Young by bringing in Dave Canales. Since entering the league, Canales has helped Russell Wilson, Geno Smith, and Baker Mayfield reach new heights.

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo may be thinking about retirement sooner than later. At the least the 68 year old Izzo has thought about how he'd go about it according to a recent interview. His departure will be quick and quiet. Don't expect a long "Izzo Farewell Tour." In fact, he likes how Villanova's Jay Wright and Alabama's Nick Saban retired. But Izzo, also said he's too busy with this team to place constant thought into his retirement plan. Izzo's Michigan State Spartans are off to a slow start this season and enter tonight's game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers with a 10-7 record. Izzo is 4 wins away from 700 with yet, another coaching milestone! In other coaching news: It's another day and another Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh story. Now he has interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons for their head coaching position, in addition to visiting with the Los Angeles Chargers about their job opening. Another thing to keep an eye on is the legal battle between the ACC and Florida State. The Seminoles want out of the ACC's grant of broadcast rights deal.
