Dimes and Judas discuss a new hidden metropolis beneath Egypt's pyramids, Bob Lazar's darkly strategic diarrhea, and a review of Transgender Pope critical darling “Conclave.” After exploring Canada's Lost Economic Decade, they launch into a review of “The Disenchantment of the World” by Marcel Gauchet, an accounting of the history of religion in the interest of establishing a dramatic temporal demarcation past which genuine faith ceases to be widespread. Contrasted against the development of the state and the man's dominion over the paranormal through inquisition, it seeks to explain why the recapturing of faith has become faith itself. Lastly, on this edition of The Copepranos Society, we replay a dynamic panel gathering Tom Luongo and StormyWaters who discuss the sovereign financial power of the Bank of England, situated in the mysterious City of London, and how this entity has engaged in a clandestine conflict with America. I Respectfully Disagree   In this episode of Richer Soul, we welcome Justin Jones-Fosu, an energetic business speaker, social entrepreneur, and workplace researcher. Justin is the founder and CEO of Work. Meaningful., where he helps organizations create a culture of purpose-driven work. He is also a prolific author, with books like Your WHY Matters NOW and The Inclusive Mindset. Through his unique life experiences, including growing up with contrasting financial influences and conquering one of the Seven Summits, Justin brings valuable insights on navigating challenges, finding purpose, and building a meaningful life.   Key Takeaways:  The Power of Purpose in Work and Life. Justin emphasizes the importance of finding purpose in what you do. Whether in the corporate world or as an entrepreneur, aligning your work with your values leads to fulfillment and long-term success. Overcoming Financial Trauma and Mindset Shifts. Growing up in a financially unstable household shaped Justin's early beliefs about money. Despite his father being a world-renowned economist, he had to unlearn negative financial habits and create a healthier relationship with money. Embracing Diversity in Experiences and Perspectives. Justin's childhood was enriched by cultural exposure through his mother, a military veteran. From hosting exchange students to attending diverse cultural festivals, he learned the value of seeing the world from different perspectives. Breaking Through Self-Limiting Beliefs. Through his journey of entrepreneurship and personal growth, Justin discovered how internalized beliefs—often inherited from childhood—can hold people back. He encourages listeners to challenge their mental blocks and step into a more empowered mindset.   Money Learning: Justin's financial upbringing was a mix of struggle and contrast. His mother worked tirelessly to provide, often avoiding opening bills out of financial stress. Meanwhile, his father and half-brothers lived a different reality, with financial privileges Justin didn't experience firsthand. This stark contrast shaped his financial mindset, initially leading to avoidance behaviors around money. Over time, he worked to break these patterns and adopt a more conscious, proactive approach to financial well-being.   Guest Bio: Justin Jones-Fosu is a dynamic speaker, entrepreneur, and author dedicated to helping individuals and organizations create meaningful work cultures. As the CEO of Work. Meaningful., he has delivered over 50 keynote speeches annually on purpose-driven leadership and workplace inclusion. His books, including Your WHY Matters NOW and I Respectfully Disagree, equip readers with tools to build deeper connections in today's fragmented world. An adventurer at heart, Justin recently conquered one of the Seven Summits, proving his belief in pushing past limits to achieve greatness.   Key Discussion Points: Justin's Early Life and Financial Lessons: Raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly to provide. Learned financial discipline from observing struggles rather than direct education. Contrasted experiences with his father, a globally recognized economist. The Journey to Finding Purpose: How work became more meaningful when he aligned it with his core values. The importance of defining personal and professional purpose. Cultural Exposure and Personal Growth: Grew up experiencing diverse cultural festivals and international perspectives. The impact of his mother's military background on his worldview. Mindset Shifts and Breaking Self-Limiting Beliefs: Addressing financial avoidance behaviors inherited from childhood. Learning to create healthy money habits and redefine his financial future. Challenges and Triumphs in Entrepreneurship: Transitioning from corporate work to building a business around purpose. Overcoming obstacles and embracing the discomfort of growth.   Conclusion: Justin Jones-Fosu's story is a testament to resilience, purpose, and self-discovery. His journey from financial struggles to becoming a sought-after speaker and entrepreneur underscores the power of mindset shifts and intentional growth. Whether you are looking to redefine your relationship with money, find deeper meaning in your work, or break through limiting beliefs, Justin's insights provide valuable guidance.   Links: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/iworkmeaningful/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/iworkmeaningful IG: https://www.instagram.com/iworkmeaningful/ Website: https://workmeaningful.com/   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@richersoul Richer Soul Life Beyond Money. Christians often say, “Jesus paid the penalty for my sin”.   But we will be hard pressed to find that declaration in the Bible. Is such a declaration biblical, or does it stem from the traditions of men?   In this episode Kevin George, author of Atonement and Reconciliation: A Search for the Original Meaning, Contrasted with Penal Substitutionary Atonement, explains what Penal Substitution Atonement is and then some of the problems with Penal Substitutionary Atonement.   https://www.amazon.com/Atonement-Reconciliation-contrasted-Substitutionary-Atonement/dp/B0CHDKFWCC   George explains how the focus of atonement is a restored relationship between God and humans based on a covenant made by God through Jesus, not on a legal substitutionary payment. The covenant is a blood covenant (proving loyalty to death) for the release of sins, not a “blood payment”.   If salvation is a gift of God, why did Jesus or anyone else have to pay for it?  Did God clear the guilty by accepting a payment from someone else? Is that a bribe?   One God Report Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/1fJjk0QUhsyr8r9hVCgoFk   Bill Schlegel YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@billschlegel1   Bill Schlegel blog: https://landandbible.blogspot.com/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/onegodreport-podcast/support

God's Word for Today16 Oct, 202417 Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.18 The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever utters slander is a fool.19 When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the heart of the wicked is of little worth.21 The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of sense.- Prov 10:17-21 ESV THE RIGHTEOUS AND WICKED CONTRASTEDThe person who refuses to be corrected do continue the wrong path through life.[v.17] Sadly, they set a bad example and are able to deceive others to follow them. They are governed by hatred.[v18] Hatred makes a person mischievous. A natural tendency of hate is the use blatant lies or deception against a victim. Often, a hateful person tries to disguise their contempt for others, even pretending to like the ones he hates. In doing so, he commits hypocrisy, another sin that offends the Lord (1 Pet 2:1] Love is the opposite. Love causes a person to sacrifice for the one he loves, but hatred causes a person to wish only bad things for the one he hates (Rom 12:9).Moreover, the wicked people are incessant talkers.[v.19] James describes the tongue as "a fire, a world of unrighteousness" (Jas 3:6), untamable, and "a restless evil, full of deadly poison" (Jas 3:8). They are not wise, therefore, to restrain their lips. James derides the hypocritical use of the tongue. He writes: "With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so" (Jas 3:9–10). James offers sound advice to be prudent by exhorting, "Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger" (Jas 1:19).In verses 20 & 21, Solomon expressed the wicked heart is of no eternal worth. It produces evil (Luke 6:45). Out from his heart come curses, blasphemes, lies, slanders, defames, gossips, that destroy others. However, the words of the righteous person build others up. Wise words point the way to life, both eternal life and daily life. They encourage, comfort, and provide excellent counsel. Out of the good treasure of his heart the righteous person produces good (Luke 6:45). His lips speak God's words that "are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times" (Psa 12:6). The righteous person's words are true and trustworthy, like God's Word (John 17:17).Watch in YouTube: https://youtu.be/lPuuvKVODmgListen and FOLLOW us on our podcast Spotify: http://bit.ly/glccfil_spotify Apple Podcast: http://bit.ly/glccfil-applepcast Google Podcast: http://bit.ly/glccfil-googlepcastAudible Podcast: http://bit.ly/glccfil-audibleFollow us on various media platforms: https://gospellightfilipino.contactin.bio#gospellightfilipino#godswordfortoday#bookofProverbs

In these proverbs, King Solomon contrasts wisdom and folly, when faith and trust are put to godly use rather than to foolishness. The righteous are bold as a lion, and fear is poorly placed when it is not the fear and love of God. Rev. Brandt Hoffman, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sutherlin, OR, joins guest host the Rev. Doug Griebenaw to study Proverbs 28:1-28. Step into the spiritually rich landscape of the Book of Proverbs, a text divinely inspired and attributed to Solomon, the sage king endowed by God with unsurpassed wisdom. This ancient scripture begins with heartfelt lessons from a father to a son, laying a foundation of moral and ethical guidance before unfolding into a collection of timeless proverbs. It uniquely personifies wisdom and folly as two paths that stand before humanity, offering a choice between a life filled with virtue, fear of the Lord, and understanding, and one marred by shortsighted pleasures and foolishness. Proverbs serves as a compass for those seeking to walk in righteousness, offering insights that resonate deeply with the human experience, guiding us toward a life of purpose and discernment according to God's will.

Due to illness among our hosts and holiday travel plans, we are airing a Best Of Series episode this week instead of our previously planned episode on The Mind of the Maker. Please enjoy this lighthearted discussion as you prepare for your Thanksgiving feasting, and join us right here next week for a very special 200th episode featuring our Friends and Fellows and introducing the 2024 Reading Challenge! Today on The Literary Life Podcast we bring you another fun episode in our “In Search of the Austen Adaptation” series. Hosts Angelina Stanford, Cindy Rollins and Thomas Banks are joined by resident film aficionado, Atlee Northmore to discuss film adaptations on Sense and Sensibility. The conversation opens by revisiting the question of what makes a good adaptation of a book when translating it for the screen. They talk about the challenges of showing modern audiences the characters and situations as Jane Austen meant them to be understood. Atlee gives a brief overview of the lesser known film adaptations, as well as a more in depth discussion of the 1995 and 2008 versions. You can access the PDF he created with links to watch here. Commonplace Quotes: Sound principles that are old may easily be laid on the shelf and forgotten, unless in each successive generation a few industrious people can be found who will take the trouble to draw them forth from the storehouse. Thomas Ruper, as quoted by Karen Glass His senile fury was not exhausted by endless repetition. Eric Linklater ‘Remember, no one is made up of one fault, everyone is much greater than all his faults,' and then she would add with a smile: ‘I find it much easier to put up with people's faults than with their virtues!' Charlotte Mason, as quoted by Essex Cholmondeley The great abstract nouns of the classical English moralists are unblushingly and uncompromisingly used: good sense, courage, contentment, fortitude, some duty neglected, some failing indulged, impropriety, indelicacy, generous candor, blameable distrust, just humiliation, vanity, folly, ignorance, reason. These are the concepts by which Jane Austen grasps the world. In her we still breathe the air of the Rambler and Idler. All is hard, clear, definable; by some modern standards, even naïvely so. The hardness is, of course, for oneself, not for one's neighbours. It reveals to Marianne her want ‘of kindness' and shows Emma that her behaviour has been ‘unfeeling'. Contrasted with the world of modern fiction, Jane Austen's is at once less soft and less cruel. C. S. Lewis Selection from With a Guitar, To Jane by Percy Shelley Ariel to Miranda:-- Take This slave of music, for the sake Of him who is the slave of thee; And teach it all the harmony In which thou canst, and only thou, Make the delighted spirit glow, Till joy denies itself again And, too intense, is turned to pain. For by permission and command Of thine own Prince Ferdinand, Poor Ariel sends this silent token Of more than ever can be spoken; Your guardian spirit, Ariel, who From life to life must still pursue Your happiness,-- for thus alone Can Ariel ever find his own. From Prospero's enchanted cell, As the mighty verses tell, To the throne of Naples he Lit you o'er the trackless sea, Flitting on, your prow before, Like a living meteor. When you die, the silent Moon In her interlunar swoon Is not sadder in her cell Than deserted Ariel. In her sermon "Becoming People of Peace," Pastor Jeannine Rodriguez-Everard addresses the congregation's need for peace in an era of hardship. She emphasizes her belief that everyone is called upon to carry God's message of love and light. By further yielding to the Holy Spirit's guidance and the comfort of God's embrace, she maintains, true peace can be achieved. The pastor underlines the importance of hearing God's voice by relating a personal story of her own grandmother, whose faith was deepened when she discovered the practice of listening to God. Jeannine urges her listeners to remain open to this concept, assuring them it is okay if they haven't experienced it yet.The sermon moves on to expound on the true biblical understanding of peace. Contrasted with the view that peace is simply an absence of conflict or upset, she describes it as the Hebrew concept of shalom, implying completeness, prosperity, and a state of being safe and whole. She persuades the congregation that this shalom is achieved through faith in Jesus, and not through individual effort. Remaining tranquil even in trying times, according to the pastor, is achievable through sincere prayer, thanksgiving, and focusing on the positive aspects of life. She concludes her sermon by encouraging the church to be observant and supportive of each other, reminding them that the power of Jesus can help them overcome any adversity and ultimately find true peace, or shalom. This sermon was recorded at a Sunday morning gathering at Church of the Lookout in Longmont, Colorado.Speaker — Jeannine Rodriguez-EverardVisit Our Website — https://thelookout.churchTake Your Next Step--- https://thelookout.church/connectConnect with Us --- https://thelookout.church/newGiving to Support the Ministry --- https://thelookout.church/giveVisit our websiteFollow us on FacebookFollow us on Instagram

Questions Covered: 06:01 – I’ve heard a lot of Protestants complain about spiritual “dryness”. Do you think this is comparable to the dark night of the soul, a problem due to an impoverished Protestant spirituality, or something else? 14:23 – how does one become a Protestant elder? Contrasted with how one becomes a catholic elder “aka bishop” 17:51 – Are there any instances where something has been declared a dogmatic fact when later it was discovered to be historically or scientifically wrong? Say the theory of geocentrism or perhaps somebody declared to be a heretic at a church council who was later discovered not to be? How would we navigate a situation like this? 23:42 – How did the Church determine who the true Pope was during the time that there were multiple claimants to the Papacy? Also, how do we know that the Church got it right? 29:58 – Are the words of institution at Mass quoting the gospels, or do the gospels quote the Mass? 33:41 – How does the Catholic view the Old Catholic Churches and the Polish National Catholic Church? 35:02 – I was wondering if you could tell me about the Dubia submitted to Pope Francis (there were 5 Dubia I think), and why do you think he is waiting so long to answer- if he even intends on answering. hasn't it been close to two years? 38:54 – Also you have said the magisterium cannot allow anything harmful, nor can the magisterium not be present at all times so as to not have any point where the faithful are abandoned, and I of course agree, but how can that be reconciled with the fact that the Arian heresy seemingly dominated for the brief time until it was condemned in council? What if hypothetically someone was taught Arianism by one of the many bishops and subscribed to it but died before it was sorted out in council? Could someone level this as an argument against the magisterium always being present for Catholics to follow? 47:40 – Is Palamism considered a heresy in the west? I've heard some Eastern Catholics practice it. 50:38 – Why don't we believe in the 4 other archangels that the Orthodox accept? 51:19 – I have a friend who is the daughter of an orthodox mother and a Catholic father. She professes to be both. I’m concerned. Is this possible? 52:50 – Are we moving towards a healing between the east and the west? …
