The PC's find out about Cudgel and her betrayal. Also, they find a bit more about the Dragon Queen. They talk with Becklin and the other Knights of Solamnia about a plan of attack, so it's decided that the group survey's the hills to see if any other forcers are gathering to attack the town.

Questioning a prisoner, they learned Gragonis was paid off by someone to betray and kill Cudgel and use the regiment to take Vogler. On Thursday March 5th, 2015 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will have a discussion on the magical heroic fantasy fiction of British literary lion Michael Moorcock. Although Moorcock did not coin the term Multiverse he did much to popularize it in his Elric of Melnibone series. H.G. Wells used it in Men like Gods, and Richard Shaver's Red Dwarf called it the "Simultane." Parallel Worlds is perhaps the best description of it. What Moorcock did coin was the "Chaosphere" that mace-like symbol of the black ball with eight spearheads emerging that was adopted by Peter Carroll as the symbol for their Chaos Magick system. Moorcock's literary concept of the Chaos world is presented as an ocean of swirling colors and energies dashing against the cliffs of his fantasy world -- and periodically invading and claiming lands ruled by the Lords of Law. The Lords of Chaos, one of which is Elric's patron, play a constant game with men as the pawns. Moorcock was perhaps influanced by Vance's Cudgel, to create his anti-hero The Albino ex-emperor Elric of Melnibone, who struggles to overcome the sociopathic heritage of his race and finally secumbs to it under the influence of his black-magick sword which is a vampiric weapon with a evil mind of its own. This was a perfect fictional character for the darkness that followed the era of the flower children, a presage of the current goth and black metal fads. Moorcock describes himself as an anarchist and is a controversial literary figure in Britain. He is presently writing a Dr. Who novel, his first using someone else's character. This is the tale of Lance Crossblade.

On Thursday March 5th, 2015 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will have a discussion on the magical heroic fantasy fiction of British literary lion Michael Moorcock. Moorcock. Although Moorcock did not coin the term Multiverse he did much to popularize it in his Elric of Melnibone series. H.G. Wells used it in Men like Gods, and Richard Shaver's Red Dwarf called it the "Simultane." Parallel Worlds is perhaps the best description of it. What Moorcock did coin was the "Chaosphere" that mace-like symbol of the black ball with eight spearheads emerging that was adopted by Peter Carroll as the symbol for their Chaos Magick system. Moorcock's literary concept of the Chaos world is presented as an ocean of swirling colors and energies dashing against the cliffs of his fantasy world -- and periodically invading and claiming lands ruled by the Lords of Law. The Lords of Chaos, one of which is Elric's patron, play a constant game with men as the pawns. Moorcock was perhaps influanced by Vance's Cudgel, to create his anti-hero The Albino ex-emperor Elric of Melnibone, who struggles to overcome the sociopathic heritage of his race and finally secumbs to it under the influence of his black-magick sword which is a vampiric weapon with a evil mind of its own. This was a perfect fictional character for the darkness that followed the era of the flower children, a presage of the current goth and black metal fads. Moorcock describes himself as an anarchist and is a controversial literary figure in Britain. He is presently writing a Dr. Who novel, his first using someone else's character. On Thursday February 14th, 2013 The Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will interview the distinguished scholar and author Geoffrey James whose historical novel "Sorcerer" on Elizabethan magus John Dee has just been released. It should be noted that Geoffrey James is also the author of "Enochian Evocation of Dr. John Dee," and "Angel Magic', both factual and practical works on the magical art. Geoffrey brings a unique combination of talents to his novel: he is an historian, a magician and a masterful story teller. There have been other novels based on the magical adventures of Dr. Dee and Edward Kelley, and some written by magicians themselves, but "Sorcerer" is far and away the best yet. The characters are real, the setting is alive, the story is gripping and the tragedy is classic. If Geoffrey had opted for a more reflective, less contemporary style, he could have expanded the book to 500 pages without breaking a sweat, and produced a piece of literature. But how well would that have sold in today's market? What he did was equally artistic: he produced a modern version, fast paced, emotionally charged, best-seller in thriller style, and still managed to keep the mood, the tone and the depth of a classic. I would give it six stars if I could. So tune in and meet the best author of magical fiction since Dion Fortune -- (and Geoffrey tells me he likes Jack Vance ! Perhaps Edward Kelley was Vance's model for Cudgel? )
