Let me ask you a question. Do you love God with your whole heart? It's a powerful question, isn't it? Perhaps you feel a bit convicted by the question. Our hearts are so easily divided among a lot of things we love and desire. We can be tempted to love God, but to do so without giving Him our whole heart. Main Points:1. As I think about our lives, I recognize that one of the primary obstacles to wholehearted devotion to God is simply distraction. In a world filled with noise and busyness, it's easy to allow our attention to be diverted from God. We become preoccupied with the cares of life, the pursuit of success, or the allure of entertainment. 2. Our hearts, meant to be wholly His, are divided among competing interests. As a result, our love for God can become diluted. Our love for God is downgraded to a corner of our lives, rather than occupying the central throne it deserves.3. We also know that sin entangles us and obstructs our path to following God wholeheartedly. Whether it be overt sins or even subtle compromises, sin separates us from God and disrupts the intimacy of our relationship with Him. Today's Scripture Verses:Matthew 22:37-38 - “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”Numbers 13:30 - “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”Numbers 14:24 - "The Lord said, “Because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.” Joshua 14:14 - “because he followed the Lord, the God of Israel, wholeheartedly.”Hebrews 12:2 - “…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group

What idols might be hiding in your own life today? We look at the story of King Asa of Judah, a ruler who broke the cycle of idolatry and rebellion established by his predecessors. Solomon's tragic journey from wholehearted devotion to divided loyalty shows how subtly our hearts can turn from God. His story reveals that idolatry isn't just about physical statues, but about what truly captures our deepest affections and allegiance. Listen now as we explore the consequences of Solomon's choices and discover how confession and repentance can preserve our legacy and keep our hearts fully devoted to God.
In this week's message, Pastor Blake challenges us to remove anything that takes priority over God so we can worship with undivided hearts.
Today on Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we're discussing Kanye West's latest internet meltdown and what it reveals about the state of our unfortunate over-sexualized and depraved culture. From celebrity chaos to societal decay, it's clear—without God, the world spirals into total confusion and sin. We're breaking down the bigger picture and talking about why it's time to turn away from worldliness/wickedness and the dysfunction of degeneracy and back to the truth and love of Christ. Jesus is the only sane way forward, ladies and gentlemen.--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-copy?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=tbs_thebiblestudy_searchads-nixwdmd&tw_source=google&tw_adid=608801073541&tw_campaign=17672311083&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAC-_2dRN1WU6lhTaWFNApFgzBkVe_&gclid=CjwKCAiAwaG9BhAREiwAdhv6Y_Xc6w4LM7_4otTu1-XgzYjKKwhwbNBCdqLFVTDdXToND7Rt6JU2hBoC3hsQAvD_BwE
In this episode, Pastor Walt Thinks Out Loud and asks is Christianity a risk? Is it risky for Christians to be devoted to God? Devotion and risk go hand-in-hand. God wants our heart, wants relationship with us. We can't just go through the motions, there has to be some discipline. We need to be disciplined about our devotion to God. Devotion is a commitment of our heart, commitment to our devotion to God.Visit Walt McFadden at Cityview Church
Pastor Seth S. Kim spoke on Psalm 119:9-16 during Part 3 of the Devotion sermon series, where we learned that when God's Word becomes our delight, we will learn to walk in His light.
God builds His church through the work and activity of the Holy Spirit in us, not by human enterprise. Paul's description of being crucified with Christ is an identification with Him by the power of the Resurrection. That power changes the believer from what they were to one in union with Christ. He gave His life for us. A reflection on that should produce a pattern of devotion toward God. This podcast is the 2nd recording of two with Ben Solensky teaching. The first podcast was entitled: A Life and Legacy Consistent in Parental Devotion to God. In that podcast Ben began his Biblical explanation of how fathers can fulfill the admonition in Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. In this podcast he expands the understanding of the home, family, discipleship and also gives more wisdom a father needs to fulfill his responsibilities. I can only say: “I wished I had years ago the understanding of the principles he explains. There are so man Biblical principles he explains that helps a father understand the enabling God gives and also practical application of questions and protests that come up when a father honestly expresses: “I don't know if I can do this and I'm not sure how to accomplish it. He shares wisdom that comes from considering the concept of spiritual families in the Bible by looking at a eunuch, Esther, Daniel in the O.T. and Paul, Jesus and in the New Testament. He then explains what does it look like to lead in Family Worship. He explains how to use the “Family Worship Bible Guide” with your family. We mentioned this book at the beginning of the first podcast. He explains what is the greatest thing a father can do for his family. He explains in much detail how to use the following approach in Family Worship 1. Read (the Bible) 2. Pray 3. Sing Also, he explains: the critical importance of consistency and looking for teachable moments -- Why a father should be thinking: “this is not just what my family needs, this is what I need” -- how to determine the time of family worship – why the family worship time should be the highest priority of the day. He also spends considerable time answering objections, protests, and questions that many times come up (as I mentioned earlier) when fathers consider the family worship time.
Joining me in this podcast is Ben Solensky. Ben recently gave a series of messages at our church entitled "Devoted to God". One message in that series that greatly impacted many lives was entitled: A Life and Legacy Consistent in Parental Devotion to God. I was so excited about this message because in many ways it was consistent with the purposes behind the beginning of this podcast ministry about three years ago. This is a very comprehensive Biblical explanation of how fathers can fulfill the admonition in Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. If you are looking for practical substantial help in being a godly father, I would strongly encourage you to listen to the two part series. We have divided Ben's teaching on this subject in two podcasts. In this first podcast Ben covers: # 1 The Proposition: A Life and Legacy Consistent in Parental Devotion to God # 2 What we can learn about being a godly father from Noah, Lot, Job, Joshua, Andrew and Simon, Timothy -- Lois and Eunice, Paul's spiritual fathering in his ministry # 3 1 Peter 3:7 Ben is our associate pastor at Greenville Christian Fellowship here in Greenville S. C.

When we find ourselves in trouble, we tend to look for help in all the wrong places. Even if we do look for God's help, we have our own imaginations about how He should help. Psalm 81 reminds us that while God is ready and able to do the "spectacular" for us, we actually get back on track simply by listening to His Word. God has spoken, and His instructions are the key to everything in this life.
People are often devoted to many things, but God says ultimate devotion belongs for Him.

In this week's episode we will be discussing, “What's Up with this Commitment Talk, am I a Good Example? Devotion to God is Everything” according to God's Word. Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 1:5-7, Luke 2:48-49, Ephesians 5:1, 1 Kings 8:59-61
In our bible study today, we examine the gravity of holiness and our duty to avoid spiritual adultery through pure worship. As a community of believers in Christ, we're reminded to keep our devotion to God paramount, regularly engaging in the Lord's Supper as a rehearsal for the ultimate reunion with Him.
Evan Alrutz continues our sermon series, Genuine Follower, with a sermon entitled "An Unwavering Devotion To God's Word."
In today's sermon, pastor Abie Kulynych goes back to a familiar passage for us at CORF, Acts 2:42-47, that describes in many ways what we hope, want, pray to be and prayerfully are becoming as church. More importantly, this is God's heart for His Church. A Church devoted to God's Word, God's presence and God's people. “Devotion to God's People,” is what he discusses today.

Sermons – New Life in Christ Church | Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania
Genuine faith in Christ is a devoted faith. We are called to be living sacrifices to God. As many have pointed out, a living sacrifice may get off the altar. Our devotion may waver at moments from fear, habit, or our own desires, and we face the temptation to compromise or withhold obedience to Gods commands. Following Jesus will require devotion to God, an orientation of life that keeps us directed toward God. Today we will look at three attitudes that help us grow in our devotion to God.
