Javier Baeza es el párroco de la Borromeo. Es conocido como el “cura rojo” de Vallekas. Con él charlamos sobre cómo es el día a día de su parroquia, sobre las dificultades del barrio, sobre el asedio que sufrió la calle Perioncely por los ataques de los aviones italianos durante la Guerra Civil y sobre lo que supone ser un cura rojo en una institución cada vez más conservadora como es la Iglesia. David Gower, CEO and Chairman of Emerita Resources (TSX.V: EMO) (OTCQB: EMOTF), joins us to review the news out to the market on December 5th with regards to what the criminal court decision in Spain with regards to Aznalcóllar, how the actual decision on tender being awarded on the Project still comes down to the administrative court. We then dive into the value proposition on their flagship IBW project, the recent acquisition of the expanded San Antonio Project, and the earlier-stage but large and prospective Nuevo Tintillo exploration project.   David summarizes the decision from the Third Section of the Provincial Court of Seville, which has completed the hearings for the criminal trial on the alleged crimes committed during the process of awarding the tender. The hearings commenced on March 3, 2025 and were completed on July 15, 2025.  He goes on to point out that while it would have expedited the process to have a criminal conviction, it is not necessary to still be awarded the Aznalcóllar tender, and that many people have prematurely assumed a definitive outcome.   Then we shifted over to the value proposition of their flagship Iberian Belt West (IBW) Project, which hosts three Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) deposits, that comprise a NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimate from the La Romanera, La Infanta and El Cura deposits.  David points to the update to the resource estimate that will be coming out in Q1 of 2026, which will then be used to release updated project economics at IBW. Rising metals prices as well as increased metals recovery rates from a series of metallurgical tests will result in expanded metrics in both studies.   Next we reviewed the 2 new properties acquired a few months ago, cumulatively referred to as the San Antonio Project, which substantially increased Emerita's wholly owned Iberian Pyrite Belt holdings; taking the Company's total mineral property holdings in the IBW area to 8,144 hectares. David Gower, CEO and Chairman of Emerita Resources (TSX.V: EMO) (OTCQB: EMOTF), joins us to review the news out to the market on September 19th that announced the granting of exploration permits for the San Antonio and Terranova claims, adjacent to and expanding the footprint of their wholly owned polymetallic Iberian West Project (IBW), located in southern Spain.   These 2 new properties add an additional 181 hectares to Emerita's wholly owned Iberian Pyrite Belt holdings, taking the Company's total mineral property holdings in the IBW area to 8,144 hectares. The IBW Project hosts three Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) deposits, which comprise NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimates from the La Romanera, La Infanta and El Cura deposits.   The San Antonio license is located southwest of the Company's large claim referred to as the Ontario license and is directly along the geological trend of the IBW Project's La Romanera deposit. For future reference, these claims, along with those formerly referred to as “Ontario” will be treated as a single exploration project area and referred to as the “San Antonio Project”.   The Terranova license also occurs along this mineralized trend along strike of La Romanera and extends the Company's mineral property close to the border of Portugal. There are several historic small-scale mines on the Terranova license that were mined up to the mid-20th century; including the Vuelta Falsa Mine and the Trimpancho Mine.  Exploration can commence immediately in these newly permitted areas and the Company is developing plans for exploration work on these claims along with the larger San Antonio project.   The company also announced in that same press release from September 19th that Emerita has entered into a letter of intent (“LOI”) with Western Metallica Resources Corp. to acquire 100% ownership of the Nueva Celti Copper Project located 75 km northeast of the city of Seville in the province of Andalusia, Spain; with historic mining operations and situated in the Ossa Morena geological massif.   We discuss all the derisking work going on in the background at the IBW Project, building toward the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for late Q4 of this year, or Q1 of next year, as well as an update on the key environmental permits anticipated to come in over the next couple months.   We wrap up with David summarizing that the Third Section of the Provincial Court of Seville has completed the hearings for the criminal trial on the alleged crimes committed during the process of awarding the Aznalcóllar tender. David Gower, CEO and Chairman of Emerita Resources (TSX.V: EMO) (OTCQB: EMOTF), joins me for a comprehensive exploration update at their wholly owned polymetallic Iberian West Project (IBW), located in southern Spain.  The IBW Project includes three Volcanogenic Massive Sulfide (VMS) deposits: La Romanera, El Cura and La Infanta. We also get another update on the legal proceedings at the Aznalcóllar Project later in the conversation.   We start off reviewing the assay results from the latest batch of drill results at the El Cura deposit, announced on August 20th.   Recent results from the ongoing drilling campaign at El Cura include:   Drill hole EC057: 3.1m grading 2.3% copper, 1.8% lead, 4.7% zinc, 2.21 g/t gold and 78.71 g/t silver, including a 1.9m interval grading 3.3% copper, 2.5% lead, 6.2% zinc, 3.13 g/t gold and 110.58 g/t silver. Drill hole EC062: 7.2m grading 1.0% copper, 1.4% lead, 1.9% zinc, 1.31 g/t gold and 60.10 g/t silver. Drill hole EC067: 16.9m grading 1.4% copper, 1.0% lead, 2.1% zinc, 0.93 g/t gold and 42.66 g/t silver, including a 3.1m interval grading 1.1% copper, 1.5% lead, 3.5% zinc, 1.46 g/t gold and 59.69 g/t silver. Drill hole EC068: 2.7m grading 1.3% copper, 1.0% lead, 3.2% zinc, 1.58 g/t gold and 46.59 g/t silver.   David outlines that the El Cura deposit has potential to significantly increase IBW resource tonnes with additional high-grade gold and copper mineralization. The Company has approved an additional 10,000 meters of diamond drilling at El Cura due to the results of the program to date which demonstrate the deposit remains open for possible expansion at modest depth. This drilling will focus on converting the previously delineated Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate to an Indicated Mineral Resource Estimate in support of economic studies, as well as extending the lower and western regions of the known resource.   El Cura is located in between La Infanta and La Romanera, but more closely resembles La Romanera metallurgically, returning higher gold values along with the base metals. Los crímenes sexuales cometidos por líderes religiosos contra personas menores de edad son un tema que, por su naturaleza, se ocultan. Es así como los dramáticos abusos, acosos y violaciones contra niñas y niños no han sido públicos y los responsables -aquí y en muchos lugares del mundo- son protegidos por sus estructuras. Las víctimas que se atrevieron a denunciar han tenido que enfrentar todo tipo de obstáculos, dentro de sus familias, comunidades, iglesias y sistemas judiciales. Un caso en Costa Rica logró enfrentar las puertas cerradas del clero, impulsar una reforma al Código Procesal Penal, para que estos delitos tengan un plazo de prescripción de 25 años, luego de cumplir la persona ultrajada la mayoría de edad, mover la voluntad de las autoridades judiciales, ingresar el nombre del agresor en la lista de alertas de Interpol, sentar en el banquillo y ganar un juicio contra Mauricio Víquez, quien cumple condena por 20 años. Hoy ese caso se convirtió en la película “El cura, el monaguillo y el jardinero”, que relata la historia de Anthony y Josué, quienes asumieron un papel protagónico para visibilizar y lograr justicia. David Gower, CEO and Chairman of Emerita Resources (TSX.V: EMO) (OTCQB: EMOTF), joins me to outline the key metrics and takeaways from the technical report on the updated Mineral Resource Estimate, along with improved gold recoveries from recent metallurgical testing at the wholly owned polymetallic Iberian West Project (IBW), located in southern Spain. We also get another update on the legal proceedings at the Aznalcóllar Project later in the conversation.   The Mineral Resource Estimate is based on 105,554 meters of drilling by the Company comprising 299 drill holes and is hosted in three volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits on the project; La Romanera (LR), La Infanta (LI), and the more recently delineated El Cura (EC) deposit (LR=169 holes totaling 70,344m; LI=91 holes totaling 20,975m; EC=39 holes totaling 14,235m). All three deposits remain open for further expansion by future drilling.   The IBW project is now reporting:   A Total Indicated MRE of 18.96 million tonnes grading 2.88% zinc, 1.42% lead, 0.5% copper, 66 g/t silver, and 1.28 g/t gold (8.44% ZnEq or 3.01% CuEq); A Total Inferred MRE of 6.80 million tonnes grading 3.25% zinc 1.50% lead, 0.73% copper, 56.3 g/t silver, and 0.77 g/t gold (8.72% ZnEq or 3.00% CuEq); The updated Mineral Resource Estimate achieves numerous improvements when compared to the previous May 23, 2023 MRE, which include a +35% increase in Total Indicated MRE tonnage and a +44% increase in Total Inferred MRE tonnage; There was also an increased gold metal content within the Total Indicated MRE from 629 Koz to 783 Koz, which is an increase of +154 Koz (+24%) with an increase in contained gold within the Total Inferred Resource from 137 Koz to 168 Koz or an increase of +31 Koz (+23%) gold, respectively;   Then on May 27th the Company announced that the CLEVR Process™ optimization for the La Romanera deposit is a post-flotation stage of metallurgical recovery that is being conducted at DUNDEE Sustainable Technologies' laboratories. A total of 18 optimization tests of the thermal treatment process (pyrolysis and thermal oxidation) were performed during this recent stage of testing.  The latest CLEVR Process™ results indicate an improved gold recovery of 81.5% for a 27% improvement relative to previously reported results (17% increase in gold recovery). This represents an important upgrade relative to the 64.1% gold recovery that was used for its most recent NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate (“MRE”) based on the available results at the time of estimation (see news release March 17, 2025).   El Cura is still being drilled with 4 rigs, and is located in between La Infanta and La Romanera, but more closely resembles La Romanera metallurgically, returning higher gold values along with the base metals. David walks us through how each of these 3 deposit areas plays into the larger development strategy, where the earlier stage mining decline at La Romanera can now drift through El Cura on the way to the development of La Infanta, bringing in El Cura in as a future economic driver much earlier in the mining sequence.  We discuss all the derisking work going on in the background building toward the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) later this year, as well as an update on the environmental permits anticipated to come in over the next couple months.   We wrap up with David sharing a bit more from the comments the Company made on June 2nd with respect to the announcement made on May 30, 2025 by the Minister of Energy and Mines of Andalucia, Mr. Jorge Paradela, that the Junta de Andalucia, through his ministry, has granted the exploitation license to Minera Los Frailes (“MLF”) to develop the Aznalcollar project.   Spanish independent legal counsel of Emerita has reassured the Company that this announcement will have no bearing on the outcome of the ongoing criminal trial related to the awarding of the Aznalcollar Public Tender.  We get another update on where things are at in the process within the courts, with the sentencing portion of the legal proceedings having commenced back on March 3rd.  The company is still awaiting further clarity on whether Emerita Resources will be awarded the high-grade polymetallic Aznalcóllar Project later this year, as the only other qualified bidder at the time.   If you have any follow up questions for David regarding Emerita Resources, then email those in to me at  Shad@kereport.com.   Click here to follow the latest news from Emerita Resources
