Enjoy!

PopaHALLics #128 "Four on the Floor"Our podcast is four years old! We celebrate with a funny, more-or-less-true movie about profanity-laced letters, an animated noir Batman, an Alice Hoffman novel about the power of reading, and an influential "sensation" novel first published in 1859-60. Once again, we're on the cutting edge! [Joke.] Streaming:"Wicked Little Letters," streaming services and rental. When residents of a small seaside town begin receiving profanity-laced letters in this black comedy mystery, suspicion falls on a foul-mouthed Irishwoman (Jessie Buckley). But did she do it? Also starring Olivia Coleman and Ajana Vasan."Shardlake," Hulu. In this 4-part series based on C.J. Sansom's novels, a lawyer and his sidekick (Arthur Hughes and Anthony Boyle) investigate, on the orders of Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean), a horrific murder at a monastery. "Batman: Caped Crusader," Prime. In this animated throwback noir series, Batman (voiced by Hamish Linklater) is a true detective using low-key methods and his fists to fight crime in Gotham City. More diversity and some interesting spins on Batman's longtime villains. "My Spy," Prime. A hardened CIA agent (Dave Bautista) meets his most challenging adversary yet, a 9-year-old girl (Chloe Coleman), whom he's supposed to be discreetly surveilling. She has other ideas in this cute 2020 action comedy also starring Kristen Schaal and Daniel Kim. "Leave No Trace," Disney+ and rental. In this slow-moving but involving drama from the Oscar-nominated writer and director of "Winter's Bone," a dad (Ben Foster) and his daughter (Thomasin McKenzie) live off the grid in Oregon until one small mistake tips them off to the authorities. Books:"The Invisible Hour," by Alice Hoffman. This novel from the "queen of magical realism" celebrates the power of reading. A copy of "The Scarlet Letter" causes a young girl to question she and her mother's involvement in an oppressive cult. "The Woman in White," by Wilkie Collins. This story originally published in installments in 1859-1860 is often cited in 100-best-novels-of-all-time lists and was one of the first to use multiple narrators to advance the plot. Vivid characters, a mysterious woman in white, true love, scheming upper-crust types, involuntary confinement in an insane asylum—it's all here!
The Knobs introduce "Four On The Floor Shootout" a brand new episode theme focused on discussing our shared but different experiences with four pedals within a pedal type or style category. We based this on our very own "Four On The Floor" segment that we started in 2017 and is still going strong. This is one of many to come and we hope you like it as much as we loved recording it! *Please note the pedals we feature in this segment are not be sponsored, but are selected by us :-) #guitarpodcast #electricguitar #pedaleffects #pedalfx #theguitarknobs #guitarknobs #guitarinterview #guitaramplifier #guitarpickups #guitarsetup #fuzz #overdrive #reverb #distortion #guitartips Visit us at theguitarknobs.com Support our show on Patreon.com/theguitarknobs

In this special episode, we highlight Women's History Month (March 2024) by featuring host Charlie Peacock in conversation with a panel of Nashville's best, up-and-coming women songwriters: Erika Daves (Daves Highway), Jasmine Mullen (The New Respects), and Abby Siler (songwriter, Integrity Music). All three singer-songwriters are committed to loving God and people through music, serving the Christian church, and creating the songs the whole world sings in country, pop, R&B/Soul, indie lo-fi pop, and more. In this lively, insightful episode, we learn how three young singer-songwriters harmonize their faith with their artistry, navigate the music industry's highs and lows, and stay committed to loving God and people—fueling their creativity. They delve into the challenges they've faced as women in a space too often controlled by men while revealing how female role models (including mothers), women in music history, and the power of mentorship keep them safe, sane, and hopeful for ever-expanding opportunities. Amid discussions on music, gender equality and diversity, our guests highlight the transformative shifts they've witnessed and the initiatives and people that spark hope for a bright future. As we celebrate Women's History Month, this episode is a melodious tribute to those at the forefront of blending Christian spiritual depth with musical innovation. CHILL — This episode is all about atmosphere atmosphere and those deep house tracks that just take you to your favorite place in the world to just let go. Most of these episodes of the four on the floor series have been high energy, actual club vibes, but I thought it'll be nice to slow down for a change and relax. This mix has some of my favorite remixes, and originals from producers like EDX, Nora En Pure, KREAM, Zhu, Pascal Junior, and so many more. Let me know where your favorite place is to watch a sunset in the world. Connect with me on social media at Instagram: @djpolarofficial // twitter: @deejaypolar
THE FUTURE! — Big Buildups, Lots of Synths, futuristic sounds. In episode 11, we explore the world of future house. This sub-genre of house music excites me a lot because it isn't your typical sounding house. Everyone is used to the typical four on the floor beat with lots of percussion, groovy bass lines, and maybe a soulful vocal. This goes the opposite direction, with big drops & high energy. Some of the production you will hear in this episode is from the likes of, Don Diablo, Oliver Heldens, Cazzette, Michael Calfan, just to name a few. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN! The UK — Known for its rave scene, and amazing DJs and producers alike. With legendary clubs like Ministry of Sound, Fabric, to name a few and the sound of the UK being my favorite this mix was bound to happen. Hard hitting Bass lines, flowing piano melodies along with some of the most insane vocals you may hear on a dance record, this mix doesn't disappoint. In this episode we explore sounds from geniuses such as, Danny Howard, James Hype, Joel Corry, DEAN-E-G, Jax Jones, Ben Rainey, & so many more. Back again with another FOUR ON THE FLOOR series of Polarized Radio. The reason I'm doing this branch of the entire podcast is because whilst loving doing the open format shows, I have a deep love for house music, and being able to put that desire on display has been a goal of mine. In this part of the FOUR ON THE FLOOR series we dive straight into some early summer vibes, combining that sound with some more of my favorite piano melody based tracks, and dwelling into some Nu-Disco vibes your feet are bound to get moving. You'll hear production from the likes of Duck Sauce, Alok, Meduza, Lucas & Steve, MK, Block & Crown, Joe Stone, and so much more. Please do subscribe on iTunes Podcasts, and on Spotify so you never miss an episode. Can't wait to be out there in the world to rave with you all again.
